The zoo is the best, its great how they are expanding so much over the years. Definitely very busy during the weekends!! Week days are way better!!

I love taking the kids here they love to see all the cool animals. Especially when the animals are active and playful.
The zoo was awesome our two year old loves it! Wish there were more areas for him to play, with kids in between the animals. But there are def plenty of animals, just depends on when you go because some could be inside from the cold or pregnant, etc. The summer is the best time to go. They are always trying to renovate areas for the animals. The lion and hyenas are cool, especially when they do a show.
Me and my kids had fun. I mean it was cold but still got to see some of the animals and lights.
Nice selection of animals, and you can walk around with a beer or some canned wine (actually not too bad). Personally, I'd rather go to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, but The Denver zoo is a fine establishment, and fun was had by all.
Great atmosphere, animals and friendly staff! Will definitely be back!
The parking was insane, the zoo was just flat out depressing. Half the time you were wondering around aimlessly for a couple of minutes, there's no signs telling you where you are or where you've been. You had a slim chance of seeing any thing and when you did finally see one they all just seemed so unhappy, uncared for even!...the crowd was even worse, if you stopped moving you got pushed or shoved by someone random, prices are absolutely not worth it. I love zoos I've been to a handful and I can say with the things I've seen today, I won't go back...sorry but not worth it...
Not bad but the drive to Cheyenne Mountain zoo is worth it
Beautiful Zoo, lots to do! There are exhibits and shows going on all of the time including animal feedings and hands on experiences for guests. I love how many shaded seating areas are provided through the the entire park, even at the indicvidual exhibits. There was some construction going on putting up Christmas lights, but nothing intrusive. Gift shop had great options, and all the staff we encountered were polite and helpful. Great day at a great zoo!!
This zoo is incredible! The push for recycling here may have gone overboard a little- it is nearly impossible to locate a trash can inside the zoo. Even the ladies bathrooms dont have a place dispose of diapers or tampons.
I love this zoo! except the only problem is that it closes early.. So get there early
Paid $40 and didn't get to see any of the animals we wanted to see!
Had an amazing time they did such an awesome job with the lights. My only suggestion would be hat they need to redo some of the walkways as they were hard to navigate in the dark.
Why I rated this place 3 stars is because it smells and the prices are just a bit to high. But it s really really funny. And there is so many animals to see!
Thanks!
Denver Zoo for me had some animals I have never seen before in any other zoo. Pairs of Elephants, Polar Bears and Black Bears, with many many other varieties of animals to see as well. The park is very large and will take an entire day to walk around at a steady pace. Make sure to take sun-cream if it is hot as there isn't a large amount of shade around half the park. Its a great day out and season passes equals many awesome days out.
Great zoo, all the animals were treated well and it took most of the day to explore it all. Lots of volunteers who are more than willing to explain and teach about the exhibits. Great place for all ages.
It's a great zoo. Worth a visit even without the kids
This zoo is awesome. The animals are in good health and spirit. There's lots of activities. Parking is free. Adult entrance is $20. Highly recommend.
Great clean and up close. Friendly and very informative staff. Loved this zoo!!
We visited this zoo as part of my children's Natural Science Education and project
This zoo is meh. Most of the times we go, the animals are not on exhibit, so we end up walking around and getting sunburned for $63. They need better signage and the mobile app needs an interactive map with a location beacon.
Lots of fun at the zoo. Come see the new renovations.
Nice zoo just felt unorganized with staff and how they handled things with covid.
Excellent zoo. Bigger than I expected. Very clean and animals look well cared for.
Great zoo! Wasn't as big as i was expecting but it made it easy to see all of the exhibits in one day. Food prices were a little costly but over all had a great experience. Would certainly recommend.
Love the Zoo. Very helpful staff. I love the changing of landscape from season to season. Also love watching some animals interact.
Amazing zoo. Parking is an outdoor garage that is free. There are many Animals at this Zoo. Food is a bit expensive like $5 for a vending machine soda. They also have some restaurants and food trucks, but a bit pricey. Better to bring some lunch from home. Plan on spending a few hours, as it is a very large zoo and they have shows throughout the day.
First time to visit in the winter, less people made it a relaxing day.
Fun place to go in Denver. Got giraffes, elephants, lions and more. Theres a baby sloth and kamodo dragon right now!
There are a lot of animals but many of the cages were empty. The food is way too expensive but we brought an ice chest and sub sandwiches in the car. Also brought our own waters, they don't check bags no signs saying not to do it either. The park was very clean and well kept. The worst thing was how rude other patrons are. They will walk right in front of you at an exhibit and cut you off, or stand right in the middle of the glass so no one else can see, no one said excuse me all day. Not the zoos fault just saying.
It's an amazing experience great for the family and they also do evening events for adults as well
I love the zoo, but the animals are never out. This is our second time and nothing spectacular to report
Fun place to kill the morning at especially if you have kids
The Zoo was under renovation!! We didn't see a lot of animals!
They have this place set up very well for safety during the pandemic. Mask rules are enforced so all you trumpers wishing to turn a health issue into a political one will be disappointed in your inability to do so here. I will be back a few times this summer to support them. It's a nice zoo.
Denver Zoo Lights: Honestly, if you go just do the regular package. They advertise things that aren't a part of the program, they also shut down at 9. The things they will tell you is a part of the program are additional cost, it was unpleasantly crowded and difficult to get to things. It was not well organized at all an even though they advertised closing at about 9:30 everything was closed by 9 even though the event was supposed to go until 10. It felt like a complete waste of time and money. We could have walked around the botanical guardians or downtown for free and seen the lights as opposed to the $225 we spent on useless VIP tickets. This was a severely disappointing experience and I am sad that I wasted the time and money I could have spent with my out of town family doing this.
We have a family membership and love to go all the time. The off seasons are best with no crowds. Parking sucks unless you arrive early or real late.
Friendly staff, animals look happy and healthy. Definitely recommend a visit as a family activity!
Long walk.
But cool zoo.
Even tho much is closed it was still a good time. Food was great LOVED the brisket and the can of "monkey" red wine!
The animals are really funny to watch. The employees put on shows with the animals for you to watch. The food is good and pretty cheap. Parking can sometimes be hard so go later in the day for better parking and less people.
It's a very good zoo but almost everything was closed. Special exhibits were closed. Shows were closed.
Because it's a zoo. No really great staff, great keepers. Everyone is so friendly to assist. Always making improvements but not in the way. They serve beer. Animal enclosure are beautiful!
I would have enjoyed more if the animals were outside but it's too cold for a lot of them. February weather isn't conducive for viewing.
Great family outing. The staff was very family friendly and seemed to love theor jobs!
A great place for people of all ages but it is particularly fun for kids.
Great they are doing a good job keeping everything clean and spacing people out. Super fun to see all the animals!
Two polar bears who only have each other and have been friends for life are about to be split up and sold by the zoo for money. Bears are very smart creatures that build relationships with each other and have emotional ties. Tell them to do the right thing and keep them together
Super fun for the kids and the adults as well. Plan to spend at least 2 hrs or more. Food choices are ok. But it was a lot of fun.
This zoo is right in Denver. Busy on memorial day weekend but still able to see all animals. They have several view points for sight seeing. I liked that everyone wasn't crowded to see. The elephant passage and giraffes were my favorite. They do have food and shows onsite. Free parking cost about $20 per person to enter.
Denver zoo changed soo much sense i was a kid. i love what the did for the tigers and elephants!!! Zoo lights are great too.
Very family friendly. Pleasant employees throughout the zoo. Good ice cream!
It was great! Got to spend the day with my daughter & grandson, time well spent! The zoo itself was very entertaining & educational. Lots of people working there to give you information about exhibits. Go early!! Tons of folks & families were there.
Huge zoo, most animals have 2 exhibits. Of they aren't inside due to weather, they're outside. It's a true hunt.
I have been to many zoos around the world and this is the worst ever. It is definitely the most expensive at $17.50 per person!!. It has the most number of empty exhibits and most number of animals living in solitary. The animals look very depressed and uncared for. A lot of them look mangy and sick. There are not enough postings that explain about the animals and less direction signs. There were many times we and other visitors were going around in circles clearly due to lack of signs.
One highlight: giraffes.
Conclusion: don't waste your time and money here.
Good zoo, well kept, clean and lots of amenities. Gets very crowded
Wonderful experience in Denver Zoo! It is HUGE! We spent all day there, enjoyed every bit of the visit. Animals look happy and spoiled they have a nice space and it's great.
I went there for the zoo lights. It was really pretty unfortunately it was pretty cold so we didn't say long. But the lights were beautiful. I can't wait to come back year.
Relaxing time. The zoo is clean with friendly volunteers everywhere. The animals were active.
Fun and family-friendly place. The free day was packed with visitors. I wish food options were a little simpler and more kid friendly. We ate at the restaurant by the elephants. Perhaps things are better on regular days. Will post a review after the next trip.
In-laws choice for a different activities that my nephew's really enjoyed. They enjoyed it and so did I surprisingly!
The animals cooperated with being viewable and the zoo had food stations throughout the park...
They even had beer!
I did get to see a lot of staff that was very knowledgeable.
Even got to see a gorilla break some glass in an exhibit... forgot to take pictures however.
Overall a great experience.
Well worth it.

Very well kept animals, lots of new borns and great families being formed.. loved the place
Went to the Winter Nights Lights. Ace Hardware is a sponsor and tickets were free with purchase of a $30. Gift Card.
Lighting is beautiful and it is so relaxing to go walking at night with family or friends. Most animals are not on display at night.
