Loved the zoo. Been coming here since I was young. I appreciate that they kept the same statues they had back in the day. They do need to update some things like the audio stuff that talks to you when you press the button. the new updates on the tiger exhibit was awesome and the elephants too. the gorillas look really bored though.

Lots of animals and displays, with helpful staff. Saw a nice elephant show and 4D movie, rode a train and a carousel. Needs to put a bottle filling station any where there is a drinking foutain and put them on the map that they hand out. Souvenirs are a bit pricey.

Very large zoo with lots of animals to see. Food and drinks are a little pricey but you can bring carry-ins. The exhibits are clean and well maintained. The animal shows are great but the seating fills up fast. If you are in Denver, this is a good place for families to visit.

Relaxing!!! The zoo has done a fabulous job creating a safe and effective environment for visiting the zoo during the Covid19 situation. The kiddos had a great time and were great troopers wearing their masks in the hot weather.

I love the Denver Zoo, there are so many animals and you can tell they are well cared for. Probably the only downfall is that many parts of this zoo are very very old and in questionable condition. The feline exhibit, for example, looks the same as when I visited as a child (20+ years ago)...it's very dated and worn out. Other than that, this is a favorite of mine nationwide for the variety they offer.

Also, the new elephant exhibit is really great!

Great place, but very spread out and it is difficult to interact with the animals or even see them up close in some instances. Otherwise, not a bad place. Better bring your running shoes, a lot of ground to cover.

Great place for animals and for visitors. Tour could take until 5 hours, so you should bring enough water, food and wear comfortable clothes. Birds places are really good, same for fishes area.

I love zoos and there was a LOT to see. They have a TON of cool exhibits! If you go during the summer, though, BRING A HAT AND SUNSCREEN. I got such a bad sunburn. That's not the zoo's fault, just an extra tip. :)

I've been coming to this Zoo since I was a child. I'm very excited to share this place with our daughter now! Our last trip was excellent and not as busy as I anticipated. The most disappointing thing was that the lions were not out when we were there. We look forward to getting the full use out of our family pass this year.

Okay so usally when we have gone there isn't much going on (we still have fun tho) but today to our surprise so much was happening we didn't know where to start! The lions were feeding and fighting over it (not aggressively) the elephant got really up close and the anaconda was actually moving and hissing sticking it's tongue out plus so much more! The kids and I enjoyed it and as usual the staff is always very friendly and ready to help. I would recommend anyone to come kids or no kids the zoo is always a fun place!

The set-up is like a corral. You can only go in one direction. Not many animals are out. So many things are closed. Other visitors have no consideration for social distancing. Save yourself the trip and wait for COVID to be over when things return to normal. I've been to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo recently and it is definitely worth the trip. You will have a much more enjoyable experience.

Beautifully maintained, clean, friendly, happy place. Animals are clearly well-cared for. Best time to go is during a light rain--all the animals are out and you have the place to yourself.

This is a great city zoo set on very spacious grounds with friendly staff. Really enjoy the fact that instead of just looking at animals in cages many of the exhibits are in "natural" settings. All exhibits have a good amount of space for the animal to roam a bit vs being restricted to small areas. This zoo really seems to care for its animals. The zoo also has some great seasonal events - like Zoo Lights around Christmas - that are worth seeing. Only downside is that parking here can be really tough (if not impossible) which is what led me to knock off a star. Otherwise, once your able to get your car parked the zoo itself is really exceptional given what many other zoos can be like.

I'm disabled and I was kicked out because I can only be in my chair for a limited time and they didn't let me go the direction I wanted to, to be able to see what I wanted to in the amount of time I had.

Great Zoo the tiger exhibit is one of the best I have ever seen. Went in the colder months but still got to see most of the amazing animals plan on coming back in the summer months for sure.

It was good. Parking was extremely difficult to find around 11am. I drove for 20 mins looking for a parking spot. Inside it was crowded it really can't comfortably hold as many people as they assume they can fit. Me and my group were constantly tripping over children and running into and getting ran into by other people.

This is an average zoo. Won't blow you away, but will keep you entertained for the whole day. They have a dik dik, which is rare, and probably the cutest thing you'll see your whole life.

Great place to spend the day with family. We have been members for the last year, and the membership has proven to be an incredible value. Our kids love the new bear habitat, as well as the sea lion and tropical discovery areas in particular. On very busy days parking can be a challenge, but it s worth it.

I went with my boyfriend, both of us in mobility scooters. The place was wheelchair accessible except the doors into buildings. We still had a great time and enjoyed the zoo. Line to buy tickets was long in the hot sun but it moved quickly.

Great zoo! Lots of different animals, big enclosures, good viewing areas, and very friendly staff. There are also lots of member events if you get a membership. The family memberships pay for themselves within a couple visits, and the zoo is definitely somewhere you can go more than once. One of my favorite places in Denver.

We have an annual pass for our family and our kids love it. We probably average visiting 2-3 times a month and it is worth every penny.

Best times are during the 30 mins member exclusive time at 8:30am. And surprisingly toward the end of the day when most of the people who have been there all day are worn out.

Awesome Zoo, tons of really great animals and a real easy to navigate park. There were lots of baby animals which were of course very cute to look at. I would highly recommend taking a trip to the zoo!

Always love visiting the Denver Zoo, even though Bird World is now permanently closed. Last visit was Sept 30. Most of the birds went to other zoos along with the polar bears, and we now only have 1 older grizzly so I imagine we won't get anymore bears unless an abandoned cub or two like in prior years...Would love to keep our emu, pandas, and the few remaining birds and cats which would have to be assimilated into existing exhibits. Construction continues around the feline houses so you can't see most of the animals in the outside exhibits but can go inside some of the feline buildings to see some of the cats, birds and pandas. Construction continues on the north west part of the zoo where the old animal hospital & sheep & monkey & admin buildings used to be at. They are building a bigger state-of-the-art animal hospital, meanwhile the goats & sheep seem to rotate in & out of the remaining visible outdoor habitat. The sheep habitat is still there but I bet the noise and dust bothered the sheep. They have torn down many habitats and cut back back on animals (no more wolf den, asian bears, striped hyenas, etc) to make larger, more natural exhibits for the remaining animals. Some animals can be seen close up behind scratched plexiglass (lions, spotted hyenas, african wild dogs, river & asian clawed otters, fishing cats, gorillas, snow leopards) as well as through wire chain fences or over fencing. Binoculars are definitely not necessary but nice to have on occasion. I don't see many people using the 4-D theatre during normal daytime hours; this is a separate fee and not part of the regular zoo admission. They still have the cute train and carousel rides (additional fee & can be purchased on location), and lots of pretty plants like in a botanic garden. Lots of buildings torn down to make way for a second much needed entrance (remember the one that used to be next to City Park near the lorikeets in the park?) and more restaurants are planned. It's still a fun & beautiful place to visit. The zoo web site lists all their animals.

Denver Zoo is a vast place with lots of animals to see. A wide range from primates to birds and everything else. A little easy to get lost, so make sure you take a map. They also offer free admission days, which is pretty cool. It can be pretty difficult to find a parking space on those free days, but its certainly worth the trip!

What a great place to bring your family, the employees really care about the animals here. I would suggest this place to anyone the enclosures were very clean, the elephant show was a lot of fun and educational. This place is huge make sure you bring a good set of walking shoes, sunglasses and sunscreen trust me, you'll be glad you did.
