Nice location and reasonably priced, howbeit there was no hot water in my villa and it took a while to get it seen to. However once established it could not be fixed we were offered a new villa and complimentary breakfast the next morning. Would visit again

The week before our wedding, ourselves and our guests were informed that there was a booking error with the resort and that we could not stay at the accommodation. The resort organised to move everyone to another accommodation in the area and provided transport to and from our wedding venue, at no extra cost, which we appreciated. I had to contact the resort multiple times to get updates on the progress of the new accommodation, with confirmation that we had a place to sleep only a day or two before needing to stay in the Hunter Valley. Overall, was disappointed that this type of error could occur in the first place as well as the lack of communication from The Oaks. A big inconvenience before our wedding day! Would not book with The Oaks in future due to our experience.

So this room has a TV but can you use it? NOPE
No foxtel, no internet, no Netflix
The maintenance had no idea what was wrong and left with no resolution.
The shower pressure is almost zero and it stays hot for about 2 seconds before it goes ice cold
The dining area is pretty much full of mosquitos (I know it's the Bush but surely a big zapper can be put in to keep them away)
For $180 per night I expect a lot better

Stayed overnight in a Teo bedroom apartment. Clean and tidy rooms, though some fixtures were slightly outdated. Very close to local wildlife, with kangaroos coming right up to the window! Excellent dining options!

Big NO NO for next time. We were sharing rooms with spiders big and small all around. The concept of service was totally missing while managing breakfast. Hats-off to the onfield staff trying to manage the breakfast. Instead of placing more people to help the crowd, the advice was to come at 7 am. The organization is lacking big time in terms of service. Will never visit or recommend this resort to anyone.

Very dated room- non working fridge/freezer which we sadly found out after our 1st night and having hundreds of dollars of cheese and chocolate ruined! Asked receptionist to send maintenance and she brushed me off!!!
In our 3 days there (group of 5 girls) we did not have 1 staff member speak nicely to us which was great for the bride to be on her wedding weekend!
So over priced for the dingy old villa we were given! Nothing like the pics online and we paid almost $400 a night!
NEVER AGAIN and will never recommend to anyone
Highly disappointed

Really enjoy staying at cypress lakes . Accomodation is clean and spacious . Everyone is friendly and the food is nice. The hot spa outside looking at the golf is my favourite although I think it needs to be updated as jets weren t working probably and temperature seems colder ??

Both rooms have ensuites which is very good. Kitchen a bit bland, very few accessories. Electric stove. Took a while to figure out how to use the oven. Airconditioned. DVD player, foxtel. TV in each room.

After booking months in advance at Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort we were unfortunately told that our booking had been cancelled but not by us, an unknown source had emailed them cancelling our stay for the weekend.
After no explanation from the staff apart from sorry we can t help you, these things happen we decided that was unacceptable so decided to speak with the manager onsite.
The manager looked at the booking and printed out the cancellation and followed with the same words that we had already heard, your booking was cancelled by email on this date by an unknown source and then she looked through her bookings to see if she could find a spare room.
After going forward and back with staff at the Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort the ended up finding us a room which had 1 bed plus a sofa which meant 2 out of the 4 people we had staying had to stay on a couch.
No discount or anything was offered to us during this whole ordeal and I d recommend if you re planning on staying in Pokolbin for the weekend to look elsewhere as I don t wish what happened to us to happen to anyone.

It's a lovely area but the villas are very functional. I know it's strangely specific but I was extremely frustrated to have to wait 40 minutes for a coffee. The resort is very convinient for the wineries that are within a very close proximity but will try other locations before returning.

Stayed in one of the 2 bedroom villas. This is not one of the renovated Executive villas but one of the older style ones, didn't realise there was the difference until we asked at check-in. The rooms were adequately presented and ok for a family of 3 adults and 2 kids (6 and 4). Cleanliness was not the best as we found a couple of empty drink bottles behind the lounge chairs and the dinning table had lots or ants around it. It was a comfortable stay but for the price paid would have expected a higher level of presentation. The view from the room was great, overlooking the golf course and it was very quiet and peaceful. The pool.areas were great and the kids loved using them. Bodega restaurant and bar was nice and not bad value for money.

Really disappointing hotel booking experience. Tried to call reservations back to confirm room, got put on hold twice.. then by the time I got hold of a person and had given ALL my details as required .. i was notified that the last room was already booked...so disappointing and after 1 hour on the phonecall and waiting for a manager there was no rooms left. Very dissapointed and will not be recommending this hotel.

Food was good in general but I ordered a paninni which was very bad, served cold with thick slices of tomato and a bit of sauce. The other meals that were ordered were generally well received. The after lunch coffee was terrible. The lower bar really doesn't fit with the rest of the resort, it was like suddenly stepping from 5 star hotel to a small town RSL.

Stayed overnight with my daughter, son and his partner in a 2bedroom villa.perfect! Very cosy and everything we could have wanted .no negatives the only thing We found about disconcerting was, being from the coastal suburbs we weren't used to how very quite it was if a night.not complaining to stressed out city dwellers this was a wonderful experience.no negatives about anything ,great from reception, amenities and scenery.would definitely give it a 10/10 and recommend it to others .thank you to all concerned for a delight ful stay albeit too short.Kate Walker and family.

Two things are immediately apparent here at Cypress Lakes Resort. First, you are located in the middle of the wide and wonderful Hunter Valley. Second, this is most definitely wine country.
As your attention turns to the golf course, you'll find the open and expansive front-nine takes you on a sweeping tour around two small lakes, and up and down some not insignificant undulations. From start to finish this is an always interesting layout, with many vantage points providing great Hunter Valley and Brokenback mountain views.

The overall experience is good. The service at the reception desk is friendly and generally helpful. The location is not difficult to find. Rooms are good. However, one minor thing is that we have found out someone before us had unplugged the DVD in the sitting room and moved the vgr to HDMI adaptor to the room upstair and it has not been restored before our visit. We spent 15min to resolve the situation.

When going to Hunter Valley my family would typically stay at Crowne. We never looked at Cypress Lakes but thought we'd give it a go for a change of scenery. We absolutely have been missing out for a long time. Our villa was so comfortable with it's fireplace. Each room had it's own ensuite and ducted air con. The TV had every foxtel channel and everything was perfect! Breakfast was beautiful with a view of the lake. Food was great also. Service second to none.
Sorry Crowne, we've found our new holiday spot in Hunter Valley!

Fantastic weekend had for my Husbands 70th Birthday, BUT, we had a total of 5 rooms amongst us & our friends and each and every room had an issue with the door key/card. As if that in itself wasn't a big enough pain, to be then told, in a very short manner, when assured we had diligently kept our cards away from our mobile phones, as instructed, was very disappointing.
A return visit will be well thought through, if at all.

have been going to this place for the past 18 years . Always happy with lovely memories - BUT this time it lacked that vibrant costumer service at the front desk. The bed sheets in one of the bedrooms had mould on them and it was way too late to call house keeping to have them change and the beds were so uncomfortable and hard none of us could sleep . The room was advertised as free wifi and we had none , when we called front desk with our own mobile phone as the phones in the rooms were not working !! they said yes they know and they can not do anything about it !!!
No sorry or we get some one there to fix it or we give u different villa. Very poor customer service .The swimming pool was not clean or staffed, lots of dried leaves in the pool and there were plastic cups from drinks every where and two inside the pool. The toilets in the pool area were not clean and disgusting. It was such a disappointing experience, as I have recommended this place to so many people for all its attention to detail in service and cleanliness. We only stayed for one night there and don t know when we will return . The break fast staff were very pleasant and lovely and maintaining the COVID rule. I should have REALY given it a TWO STAR.

I attended a 3 day conference at Oakes Cypress Lakes Resort. The venue, staff, food and general atmosphere were so comfortable and relaxing. Drinks by the pool, champagne on the balcony surrounded by nature and a lovely conference dinner in a beautiful marquee by the lake have made some lovely memories.

Stayed in the 2 bedroom premier villa. Was clean, fully equipped kitchen, with heaters, TV in each bedroom with foxtel downstairs in the living room. Beds were comfortable, service was absolutely fantastic. The included buffet breakfast was phenomenal. Was worth every penny and would 100% stay there the next time I take a trip down Hunter valley.

Not child/family friendly. If you have someone under the age of 18 they are unable to do anything without having a parent. Simple things such as ordering food or water as well as doing any of the activities need to be accompanied by an adult. Leaving not much time for relaxation for adults and entertainment for kids and teens. Also wifi is not free and overpriced which is very outdated especially considering the amount you pay. In summary this place is more of retirement home then a family getaway.

Nicely hidden in the grounds of they're lovely golf course and easily accesible in the Hunter Valley wine region. Rooms I stayed in were villa/duplex in quiet bush surroundings.
The rooms are tired and feel well worn. The resort is after all is 22 years old and could use some investment in updating.
The pools are nice and public areas neatly presented, if not missing some of the resorts previous exclusivity.

We had a fantastic 2 nights at The Oaks resort, stunning rooms large, comfortable and well appointed surrounded by well maintained Australian bushland.
Had a delicious meal in bistro, generous servings, friendly table service and strict Covid19 protocols in place especially for buffet breakfast, all meals and beverages are served by staff members at their respective areas, well laid out and managed even for busy periods.

Absolutely loved everything. THANK-YOU.

Shame on this hotel! They would not refund a cent of my full paid reservation due to the fire catastrophy. Furthermore, management is very difficult to get a hold of; a big problem if you are calling from out of the country about your reservation. stay away!
