I was interested in these apartments for about a week now after a coworker told me to check them out because they were local to my job. I currently live in district heights Maryland which is far too ghetto. I ve been there for 3yrs now and decided it was time for a change. After doing a delivery here a few times from my side job (doordash) I will say hard pass. The entrance is immaculate. Looks like a grand hotel just amazing. Upon rounding the corner to the elevators and apartments it s a drastic change. The walls are dirty and the carpeted hallway is outdated. I was actually shocked at the difference. The door frames to many apartments looked molded but I m sure it was just dirt. Making it to the 10th floor I saw a roach scattering along the wall. I couldn t imagine paying the price tag for something that s dirtier than where I live. I live in the ghetto and my apartment community is far cleaner and doesn t have pest issues. Seeing a roach in the hallway made me run out of there.

We moved in today, and Corlus (at the concierge desk) helped us resolve a issue with the freight elevator. She is friendly, cheerful, and immediately resolved our problem. We're so grateful to her for helping our move-in go smoothly. Thank you Corlus!!

I have lived in Crystal Towers for a year. The location is great as it is across the street from a Metro Station and it offers a study room. My unit is spacious and I rarely have problems with noise from other residents. I have never had problems having my car parked here. The grounds are fastidiously maintained. However Leasing here is a nightmare. They increased my rent by $50/month on the day of lease signing. On renewal they quoted a rate that was 20% above my current rent.

I moved in crystal towers last month and i just have to say great studd about my building and the management side. Ever since i been here my leasing consultant Micheanggello has been a great help to me. From questions and concerns regarding my apartment to other circustances and advices from him. Not just a great worker but a great personality and professional. If you would ever need something he will be there for you.

Wanda, the Property Manager of Crystal Towers is such a special person and great manager. She worked with us during the application process every step of the way although she is extremely busy and literally was instrumental in providing a wonderful home for me and my infant daughter which I can't put a price on. I would not have received the same personalized attention anywhere else and I could not be more grateful for all of the help and support she provided me. She is a fantastic manager and has built a fantastic team since everyone I have interacted with has been friendly, responsive and professional. I have never felt this much at home anywhere else I have lived and Towers will be my home for quite awhile!

Tried to change my move out date because Category 4 hurricane is approaching. They tried to extort more money out of me because of it and told me I was just trying to get "free rent". Greedy and horribly unprofessional.

Here are the things I listed that the apartment should fix:
-Get a real heating/air conditioning system. It's 2021. We should be able to control our own heating and air all year long when we pay over 2k in rent.
-Wash the windows more frequently. We can't even see out of our windows and they haven't been washed in the two years we have lived here.
-Warn the people who live above the trash compactors that they will be woken up every day by the trash truck or the people who work with the trash at the complex. Also warn the people who live near the doggy day care that they will hear dogs barking all the time.
-Fix the doors that go to the courtyard area so that they are more easily opened and actually respond the first time to our clickers.
-Make sure that the elevators work most of the time instead of constantly being out of order.
-Make it a smoke free property. I hate smelling other peoples smoke in my own apartment.

I live there in 2020 and moved out December 2020.
Apartment is old and no sprinklers in the apartment even those it is high rise apartment.
Convenient location but definitely very noisy for all the traffic and construction in the area.
Traffic can be a hassle but definitely won t get better.
Service level of staffs can be hit and miss. Especially, front desk staffs can be either ok or not mannered piece of sh..
When you move in, definitely don t recommend morning time because they will mess up your reservation for freight elevator.
Level of staffs for anybody looking for apartment is super but for rest of it, regardless whoever it from, they own you after sign up he lease so don t expect anything same level of service when you were looking for the apartment.
But for the worst of all, in terms of money, I highly not recommend.
For starter, it s been more than a 3 months, but I haven t gotten back my security deposit beside apparently they told me that the deposit I will get is around $400 less than my deposit, once again, which I still haven t received yet more than 3 months after I moved out while I can t even figure it out what is their excuse for the amount of which I can t check it yet since I haven t gotten back my deposit, once again for more than 3 months.
But I suffered the horror of living there in terms of finance but no matter what I say, you won t be able to image even half of what will be like so I understand if you want to live in the apartment because you are making too much money to the point that you need to waste it and just dump away while paying for something you don t get and doesn t get back the money legally belong to you.

On paper, this place looks pretty good, but after reading all the reviews (especially about poorly attentive management and cockroaches/mice!!), I'll keep looking around. Hope this place sinks some money in and gets its act together...

I lived in the building for three years and have a wide variety of experiences both with the management and the building. During my time I had approx. 4 property managers, one you never heard from and was there I would say no more than 3 - 5 months. The only really good thing about the building was its proximity to metro. It is a significantly old building, no central air which meant summers could be miserable. The air that was available did not work well. Elevators were down quite frequently. Due to its location, and based on the tabling of short term rental companies in the lobby, the building was quite transient. I think the apartment below me had four tenants in three years. The units were large and had a lot of closet space, but the lack of laundry/washer in unit was a big negative. The laundry rooms were often half broken. Garbage would often pile up the laundry chutes. The store downstairs was convenient but overpriced. MANAGEMENT - they were generally less than helpful. Whether it was billing questions or post move out payments I would often have to follow up many times and things would not get done. At renewal you are offered free carpet shampoo (or at least when I first signed my lease) I only had it once. To get that, I had to follow up with leasing people and the resident coordinator 7 times. Rent went way up, but if you are looking for an apartment near metro and are very no frills this could be good. Also, there were about 5 different trim levels to the apartments, very inconsistent product.

[December 2018] I live here now on 6 floor south building, not sure if there is a difference.
I am so glad I only got a 6 months lease. I should have read the google reviews.
My antennas went up at leasing signing when the lady mentioned they spray the apartments. I only been here for 3 months and I can deal with a lot but mice and roaches, hell no. Now I am uncomfortable in my apartment. The lower cost comes with headaches.

THE BAD
1) They have serious mice issue, will try to post pic and video.
2) They have a roach issue.
3) The apartment not individually metered is a problem, especially when you are not using it or home 90% of the time.
4) The tenant above me smokes weed and smell comes down into my apartment
5) the garbage room, can smell really bad. Thanksgiving weekend was really bad. They need to have better recycling and maybe do composting (maybe not). One night there was a coyote, or maybe a fox eating whatever in the back by the dumpster near the loading dock..
6) when people cook the smell also comes into the apartment

THE GOOD
Rental cost
Large windows
Heat is abundant
Large closets
Concrete ceilings
Plenty of closets
Close to DCA airport
Walk to metro
Community board to sell items and others recommendations
Convenience stores, but now I know they have mice, i probably will not purchase there.

Crystal Towers was built in the 1960s with strong buildings that hold up well in bad weather as the weather becomes more extreme. Over the last decade, the management and staff have become very service oriented and seek to please at every turn. The Crystal Towers maintenance staff could not be more professional or attentive. The front desk staff are courteous and efficient with the increasing number of package deliveries. Also, the lobby and coffee areas are extremely attractive, and there is an extensive workout center. The outside courtyard is always beautiful. This is a safe, well maintained community for all who are interested.

Amazing apartments. It looks like a grand hotel with all amenities inside the building premises and inside the apartment One of the best localities, all crystal city shops are nearby just at walking distance, Crystal City metro station, Bus stop, commute to office, all facilities inside campus. It's at higher end for sure when you look at the price but with all above facilities one would definitely wanna give a try.

I recently moved to crystal towers and can t be finding any better home! Professional leasing office team who helped me smoothly on all the required moving process! Great concierge and maintenance teams! Every single employee in this building is professional and attentive to residents needs!
Other than the pool, the gym and daily coffee service! The building has a monthly calendar of activities from dance classes to breakfasts and evening gatherings which gets together the residents and provide a great experience.
Underground Metro access is across the road and restaurants and groceries are at walking distance!
Every single day i walk inside the building i can smell the freshness and cleanliness how welcoming it is!
I highly recommend Crystal Towers if you are interested in living luxury experience in a reasonable priced apartment with hassle free and professional environment.

My wife and I moved into Crystal Towers 3 months ago. It has been a wonderful experience so far. I had a question about my utilities billing today and was helped out by Ashante Duncan, who clearly explained everything to me and helped make things right. Big props to Ashante!

Was temporary displaced due to a storm that came through and destroyed the rental property that I was staying at earlier this year. After looking through my options, was lucky enough to be cleared to stay at the Crystal Towers Apartments via my insurance company assisting on the majority of my payments until the damaged rental property was all fixed up (signed up for a six month lease option). Anyways, from my 6 month experience the stay was definitely nice being on the 6th floor. Also, before I forget, want to shout out to Sergio for helping me setup the paperwork, answered all my questions, and for all his customer services in making sure my apartment on the sixth floor was all ready to go. Furthermore, a few great reasons of wishing that I could stay longer are as follows:

- Spacious rooms
- Own gym facilities
- Mini mart store with many choices
- Garage parking close to elevators (if paid for)
- Open community laundry was good
- Nice and clean front lobby and staff
- Maintenance staff (good response)
- Overall the community tenants (felt safe)
- Once a month free breakfast were nice (showing customer appreciation)
- Location of apartment was close to metro station and Costco/other stores

The worst building ever! Huge cockroaches, flies, ants and other insects are our nightmare here. It seems the management does not care. AC is old, everything here is really old. Not kids friendly at all. Only gym and pool are OK, but everything else is just a pure dissatisfaction and disappointment.

Whatever you do don't move here. There are mice all of the time. The staff never helps when you need them. They recently signed for my package and lost it. No one has been able to help and they only start working on the weekdays. I travel during the week so it's hard to get any help when I'm back. The people here are lazy and never help with anything. I am counting down the days until I can leave.

Do your research and then come back to Crystal Towers, you will be happy that you did. The managers, Wanda and Allison, as well as the rest of the staff are TRULY AMAZING! It doesn't matter if the employee is a member of the housekeeping staff or the management staff. You will ALWAYS find them pleasant and willing to help. They turned a truly stressful move cross country into a great experience, and I didn't even have a chance to come check out the apartments before I picked them. I picked them completely on how pleasant my leasing agent, Aqua, was. She immediately put my mind at ease and told me we could do everything we needed to simply via email and mail. She was 100 percent right! Thank you, Aqua.

The apartments are very spacious and directly across from the blue and yellow line metro stops. I have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath that is nearly 1400 square feet. I think they are fairly priced when you consider all of the amenities you get. I have a 60 pound lab and he loves it here too. I often wonder where all the negative reviews I read came from because I haven't had a single issue since I moved in about three months ago.

If you are military, talk to the local housing office about the Rental Partnership Program. Crystal Towers is one of the properties and you will be very happy with them, I certainly am.

The +++
* Great location within Crystal City and super convenient with the metro, Costco and the mall.
* Price is competitive and units are bigger than other properties you will see around Crystal City.
* Though the building may look a bit older than other ones around Crystal City, the inside are really well kept. I am pleasantly surprised to see the cleaning crew every morning.
* The Crystal Towers crew is very nice from concierge to leasing office to maintenance and cleaning.
* Everything is on-site: that's super useful. Especially the store and cleaning shop in South tower.

Where you can improve for current and future residents:
* Elevators keep malfunctioning which is sometimes frustrating, especially if you live on higher floors and you have dogs or carrying groceries.
* Maybe some renovations in the units would be great. I understand it requires a lot of investment but some units could use a face-lift.

I have immediately solved every problem that happens, the staff very attentive and always ready to help !! There is always a parking place !! The staff is bilingual. It is the best option to live if you come from another country, because you will be well received as if it were your home !!!
Common areas always clean !!
Very nice pool and super fun breakfasts and pool parties !!!
Good size gym !!

I've been living at CT for just about 7 months now...

I've been living at CT for just about 7 months now and let me just say that I miss Archtone! I will probably end up moving out at the end of my lease if not earlier!

The Gates and Hudson administration is HORRIBLE. They never know what's going on in the building and they are charging residents 'fees' for paying their rent on time... $2 just to process an online checking transfer and over $60-$80 to pay with your credit card! This is absurd!!! When I contacted the new building manager - she shrugged and actually said "Nothing is free anymore" - WHAT?! I've been paying over $2000+ a month for rent and now your are going to charge me for paying it... on time!!!

For example: I just called to find out where can I find my receipts for paying rent the last two months - something that was easily available online with Archtone - is NOT available with Gates and Hudson, they do not keep an online register of your previous payments... nothing! I was told that I need to print out my own bill before the payment gets processed or ask the book keeper for a paper receipt every month!!!! Seriously...

Also, they are in the process of installing a cell phone antenna on the roof of the South Tower and never notified residents about it. There are some serious health risks when living so close to these things! I just happened to notice the Verizon employees on the roof one morning! When I asked the Building Manager - She told me to call Verizon because she had "no idea" what was being put on the roof! Total incompetence...

I feel bad for the residents that have been in this building for so long. Its a great place - just steps from the metro, close to everything, good restaurants and shops at walking distance, large apartments and friendly neighbors.

This apartment complex is awful!! There are all kinds of fees if any changes need to be made to your roommate situation that they do NOT mention. 560$ to be exact!!! They are shady in their discounts saying they will waive your 500$ amenities fee and you 60$ application fee if you are Military. This is only true for people that set up autopay through DFAS!! So reservists on active orders this is NOT a good option because of pay issues. Our bill is constantly wrong with random 100$ extra charges. The apartments are dingy and in need of a new coat of paint, new carpet etc. It did NOT come with a freaking basic microwave!!! Lastly our washer and dryer is STILL not working and hasn t been properly since we moved in. Do NOT

What makes a GREAT place to live?

What makes a GREAT place to live?

Each person will be different but here is a rundown for myself and my family.

Safety -- first and foremost. Crystal Towers and the surrounding area is very safe. My three kids go to their friends without problems and my 13 yr old often goes to the parks (yes two in the immediate area), mall, and stores often with friends.

Quiet -- Neighbors? Rarely does anyone hear their neighbors here because of the concrete walls. Newer complexes are, all too often now sound proof. I have lived in two of the units here and both were very quiet.

Management -- Management really does care. Wanda, the GM of Crystal Towers, is always willing to take extra time to help and this attitude and approach trickles down to all the employees. These are people as well and want everyone to be happy with living here and the staff puts in the extra effort. Including maintenance.

Maintenance -- I have had the usual stuff requests and also had the "sink is flooding now" requests. Every time the response has been fast, friendly, and the staff has gone above and beyond to ensure the work is done right.

Location -- Across from the metro. Across from Costco/Best Buy. Walking distance to numerous restaurants on 23rd and more. Bike to DC or drive out to the country. If you want walkability -- I spend more in insurance on my car than I do in gas/month.

Schools -- Education is a high priority for my children. The schools here are among the best in the nation.

Cost -- Price, per square foot, is comparable to the surrounding area. When figuring in parking and utilities take out the fact you don't have a long commute nor have to worry about gas costs, have a great pool, gym -- memberships for which you DONT have to pay. When considering ALL costs, including your time, Crystal Towers is a very reasonable.

Size -- You get more from your money here than newer apartments. Large closest, large bedrooms and good size kitchen and living/dining room. Again, cost per sq foot is very reasonable.

Amenities -- Fantastic here. The gym is always in great shape. The pool is always clean and warm (it is heated). There is also the Saloon and grocery store (reasonably priced) downstairs - both of which do a good job and offer a variety of services. Laundry/Dry cleaning is dropped off at the front desk and package service is provided. There is also a general room for movies, tv, and just hanging out with other tenants and, if you need, a business center to fax/print etc. Basically think of it as a 5-star hotel.

Wanda has done a great job of making my family comfortable and welcome here. We have lived here for two years now and look forward to staying. Like any place, the person's needs are what dictate if they will be happy, but here, the staff, location, price, amenities and many other items make this a good home.

As a long time resident of Gates hudson properties I can say that the staff members at all of their facilities are enthusiastic and helpful over all. But since I moved to Crystal Towers, it seems even more so. The staff here goes the extra mile. One of the concierges, Arben Hanelli has been constantly helpful and he is always enthusiastic. He is protective of the facilities and, and shows pride in his work. He has genuine concern for the residents. Arben always has a big smile and a friendly greeting.

I moved into Crystal Towers in June 2017 and will ...

I moved into Crystal Towers in June 2017 and will be moving out in the next couple of weeks. I wanted to take some time and provide an honest review of the community based on my experiences over the past two years. Overall, Crystal Towers has been a great place to live, especially for young professionals working in Northern Virginia or Washington DC. I will list out some of the pros and cons of Crystal Towers below:

Pros:

1. Location - Crystal Towers is a 3 minute walk to the Crystal Towers Metro Station and is only two stops away from L Enfant Plaza. If you time it right, you can get to Nationals Park within 20 minutes. The Crystal City/Pentagon City neighborhood has numerous restaurants, grocery stores, shopping centers, etc. There is always something near by to satisfy your needs.

2. Apartment Size/Value - Considering Crystal Towers is an older building (built in the mid 1960 s), the apartments are very large compared to modern apartments in the area. In my two years, I lived in a spacious studio and a massive one bedroom apartment. Rooms and closets are very large and walls/floors/ceilings are very thick so noise from neighbors is always minimal. My current one bedroom apartment is around 1000 square feet with a massive balcony. I could see paying 2-3 times more for this floor plan in a new building or in DC.

3. Staff - Literally every member of the staff is extremely friendly, from custodial staff to maintenance staff, to the concierges and the leasing office. I want to give a special shout-out to Luana in the Leasing Office and Arben at the Concierge Desk.

4. Amenities - In the past two years, Crystal Towers has invested a lot in terms of updating the community s amenities. There is now a beautiful gym, an AstroTurfed dog run, and wonderful club room.

Cons:

1. General - The hallways in the community could use some updating. The carpets and walls leading to individual units are very tired and in many cases stained or scuffed.

2. Pool - While the pool yard is beautiful, I have been very disappointed by how short the pool season is. The pool is only open between Memorial Day and Labor Day. There have been several days in the upper 80 s and 90 s since the pool closed this season. Management could easily extend the pool season by another month. Also, the company contracted to provide lifeguard services has been very hit or miss. There have been seasons where the lifeguards have enforced rules that are directly contradictory to posted signs in the pool yard and in our lease terms. There have been some lifeguards that are very friendly and some that clearly don t want to be there. Every day I enjoyed the pool while living here there had been some sort of verbal altercation between the lifeguards and tenants. One other thing that I find very strange is the pool remains uncovered, filled, and heated year round. I feel that it is very wasteful for the community to pay for the heating of the pool throughout the winter instead of having the pool winterized and fully closed.

3. Parking - There are a number of very affordable parking options ranging from surface parking, to garage parking in an adjacent (but connected) property, and in Crystal Towers garage. The garage doors are constantly broken and cars have been vandalized. When the doors are broken anyone can freely enter or leave the garage. It has become a frequent target for wheel thefts.

Overall I find that the pros far outweigh the cons. It saddens me to be leaving the community that has been my home for the past two years but it is time for me to move on to a location in DC. I would rate the property 4/5 stars and highly recommend the property to all of my friends who are interested in moving to Arlington.

I breathe a sigh of relief each time I pull up to my apartments, Crystal Towers in Arlington, VA. The property is well maintained and Wanda Basil, Property Manager always has great activities for us to get to know one another. From Movie nights to BBQ's and the hot coffee in the morning is a nice touch. Did I mention the close proximity to the metro? The units are much larger than others nearby. We can even walk to Pentagon Mall and Costco. Give them a call and make this your home. I am renewing my lease and have been here 3 years already.

We moved here as it offers the Rental Partnership Program through the military. Within 2 months we had discovered mice in our apartment. They showed us another apartment that was available but it had cockroaches in the kitchen. There was nothing else available for two weeks. As we have an infant who was learning to crawl, we needed a hygienic place to stay for 2 weeks. We decided we needed to go to a hotel for the sake of our son. We asked the manager to credit us the two weeks rent we would not be at the apartment to offset the money we had to spend on a hotel but he refused and said living mice was "part of the normal urban

Great building and GatesHudson staff are excellent. This review is about the owner of Tower Foods in the basement of South Tower. We had a terrible experience in his store. The owner was discriminating against me and my husband based on his perception of our national origin. We were browsing his store and he called us over to give us a lecture about being "foreigners" from a country that is not as civilized as America and wouldn't accept that my husband is American. Kept on asking "where are you really from"? We feel very bad about this store! Will never go again! If you look like a foreigner to the owner you probably don't want to go either otherwise you risk similar discrimination. Crystal Towers should replace his store with a non-prejudiced establishment since me and my husband are no longer comfortable going to our closest convenience store.

I've been at Crystal Towers for a year now. During my stay, I've found the staff to be very helpful and responsive. Whenever I have a question or a problem, I get very timely responses. Of note, two maintenance men have been absolute standouts. Bimael and Oscar continue to impress me. They are always timely, courteous, friendly, professional, and a testament to the tenant first attitude the Crystal Towers staff present each and every day.

My wife and I are looking to our continued stay. :)

I lived here for 9 months and liked it very much. The staff is very friendly and communicative and the facilities like the pool, the courtyard and the gym are very nice (although some of the treadmills in the gym never seem to work). The apartments are spacious with a large balcony and the complex is super close to the Crystal City metro stop. One bad thing is that the heating system is very old fashioned, they have to switch between AC and heating, so there is always an uncomfortable period before the switch in the Fall and Spring. The front desk can be slow with the distribution of the packages as well. But overall, this is a nice place to live.

I have lived at Crystal Towers for more than 10 years and it has been the best apartment I have ever had. Every amenity you can think of, to include: pick-up dry cleaning service; on-site convenience store and alterations service; garage parking; proximity to Metro, Pentagon City Mall, Crystal City restaurants and services; minutes to D.C.; concierge desk receives and holds your packages; controlled access; internet cafe; business center; pay rent and submit maintenance requests online; older building offers substantially more square footage and oversized balconies; hot water quickly available due to gas hot water heater; gas stove; nice pool area for summer; and fully equipped gym. Nice surrounding area, superb concierge and maintenance staff to handle any problem, and excellent leadership from the property manager. The newest property management company, Gates Hudson, has done some great renovations to the building and added great new features. Highly recommend this community to anyone looking for quality.

1.) The staff are really friendly and nice.

1.) The staff are really friendly and nice.
2.) The maintenance team responds to tickets quickly. A burnt lightbulb won t be out for too long. They replaced my broken dishwasher.
3.) There are a lot of amenities, including a new fitness center, a pool, free breakfast every month, coffee every morning, and yoga in the evenings. They also have a friendly concierge staff that keeps your package safe. The lobby is kept clean. They have computers and an area to sit and read.
4.) the downsides are numerous. This is a very old building. The kitchen is old , so the stove doesn t work as well as I would like. There s no range hood in my unit. The apartment didn t come with a microwave. The heating and cooling are centralized so I have no control over hot or cold. They only switch twice a year.

Update,

Update,

Will give credit where do here, we decided to sign a lease with this apartment complex. All specials as discussed were honored, the leasing team was in constant communications with us. Again, I will give Silvana credit, she went above and beyond to ensure we were tracking what was needed and where we were in the process. For potential military families, you have to be Active Duty or in an Active Duty status for the special. The program is ran through the Ft. Meyer housing office and it literally only took a day for them to work the paperwork (Not sure if Guard/Reserve technicians count-hopefully they do). Again, thanks to Silvana for pushing it out to us.

----- Original Post
Can only speak towards service provided as a potential tenant. We met with Silvana today, she is a class act and easy to work with. Would highly recommend anyone interested in touring the facility to reach out to her. She ensured all our questions were answered and did not rush us at all. Again, I can't speak for how living at the building is.. but the initial service provided was above and beyond our expectations.

Thanks!

Live here currently. The price and location are good. Good size apartments with lots of closet space. I think the only issue that I have consistently had to deal with since moving in is dealing with elevators that constantly go out of service. During the month of July I can recall at least 3 times that there were outages. For a whole week we only had 2 out of 4 elevators working. It can become a real hassle if you live on a high floor like me. Pretty solid place overall but just thought I should warn folks about the constant elevator issues. Maybe this motivates management to properly address the issue.

I really like this place, in my personal experience I recommend you to all as a place that you can call "home", placed close to the crystal city metro station and the Costco; they have an excellent team always available to help you, make you feel comfortable and valuable.

I am a current resident here and I do not have more positive feedback from this property, the management and leasing personal are very friendly and great. They can't be more helpful to their residents, every time there is an issue in my apartment or any question they always handle it. Micheanggello, leasing consultant is one of them. This young professional consultant is always there for me and my roommates.

I just moved in yesterday and i am very excited tl start my lease period, The leasing consultant micheanggello helped me moving in and made it super simple and smooth. Look forward to start enjoying all these great amenities and the area

Good apartments, lots of amenities in the basement (convenience store, hairdresser, dry cleaner, etc.), a nice plaza in the middle, friendly staff. Taking away one star because there were a decent amount of associated fees and obligations when signing the lease that weren't made clear upfront.

Do not move here. I used to live here for one year. This is the worst place I lived comparing with other apartments. The manager of the leasing office is very tricky and rude. I did not receive my mail which is the very important document related to my Visa. So I went to the front desk to check if there is any missing mail. The manager of the leasing office refused to do that and keeping say that "you don't know what I'm talking about".

This is a beautiful community and we enjoy living here. The level of customer service we have received from the time we spoke with Luana to schedule a walk-through, to other small details that she and her time have helped to resolve, have been priceless! We love our apartment, the amenities, neighborhood... we're situated in an ideal location that is easily accessible to the interstate and shopping. It's like a one-stop shop experience! We could not have found a better place to live!

I have been living in Crystal Towers Apartments since the summer of 2004. Several managements took over here over the years. I consider myself really lucky because the management here was always willing to work with me and cooperate whenever something comes up.
The current manager Peter Brosnan took over this property during a very difficult time that included a global pandemic. He worked with me and with every other tenants who needed help during this challenging times to make our lives easier! I can t be more grateful!

Great place to call home. I've had an awesome experience living at Crystal Towers. I'm new to the area and could not have chosen a better place to live. It's an awesome place to live for many reasons including location to the Metro, busses, and airport; the friendly and attentive staff, and awesome amenities. Specifically, all of the Crystal City shops, stores, restaurants and night spots that are nearby make living here really convenient. Regarding the staff, Allison Knappenberger, the leasing office manager, could not have been more helpful in moving me in immediately. She and her teal are very responsive and always go the extra mile to assist. I recommend Crystal Towers as a place to live to anyone.

I am so happy to live at crystal towers due that their employees go above and beyond for their residents. Micheanggello just besides being a great leasing consultant, he provides excellent services to the residents. I would dedinit recommend this property to everyone out there. Huge shout out to management for always being present and very attentive when we need them.

As a new veteran, home searching for the first time, I didn't expected for these apartments to be the first to show me how cold the world could be.
I specified to them I was working with a program to help make ends meet and they continued to direct me to apply for the apartments. They avoided certain questions but I didn't realize what they were doing.
Shortly after applying it didn't take long for them to finally answer the questions I had been asking-That I did not qualify because I had to be making $68,000 to qualify for that specific one.
It was highly unprofessional and very frustrating due to the fact that we are currently in a pandemic and the funds used for the application that i clearly was underqualified for could have been used to food or other necessities
Overall I question the moral standards and professionalism from the staff, it demoralized my home searching experience.
If i could put zero stars, I would.

Crystal towers has apparently started paying for reviews. Note that after about 1 review every few months, they've gotten 20 in a month and all are 5* from people who don't have other reviews.

They just ditched me on a repair I stayed home for. Leaking washer so I called yesterday at 1pm. They have a 24 hour guarantee. I called this morning at 9 and was told it would be between 11-1pm. At 12:40 I called and was told to hold and put in voice mail. I called right back and was put on hold while they guy I was speaking to literally went on break. The guy who picked up told me "Shavon told me to pick up the call when they sent him somewhere", and when I asked him what he said he admitted that he didn't talk to Shavon. I don't like being lied to, but I really hate being lied to by stupid people. He told me they were on their way. 1 hour later, Shavon (nicely rested, apparently) admitted that they would try to get to it by the end of the day. So I went to look myself at the cause and have slipped in the slime (water with lint, didn't think how slippery that'd be). It's not even a good twisted ankle, it's beginning to feel better.

Previous Review:
In the past 2 months we have gone Ghetto. Besides the drop in customer services (cheaper dog poop bags, slower repairs, dumber staff, etc.), I saw a mouse in my apartment this morning. I called the consierge and notified them and they told me an exterminator was coming today and I would be added to the list. I crated my dog (which I normally don't do) and went to work. I called when I got home and was told by the person who escorted the exterminator that they didn't do anything in my apartment because they could not identify where the dog barking was coming from. I said that if they couldn't see the dog, that meant it was crated. If it was barking and not restrained they could have seen it at the door. I'm now being told that they want to inspect for holes that the mouse is using 4 days from now, and patch those holes on an unspecified day after that. Apparently a week of mouse poop is good for a 2 year old and my pregnant wife. I told them that if the plan is to patch the holes, let's go straight to patching instead of inspection and if it is a regular maintenance thing how 'bout we do it tomorrow. "The painter isn't in tomorrow and we are supposed to patch with steel wool". I pointed out that we can get steel wool at Home Depot, and we are talking about patching under sinks and behind a stove (which shouldn't have holes in the first place) so an official painter probably isn't necessary. Our rent is almost $3K for a 2BR/2BA, this is an old building and we are moving at the end of this lease. Besides the fact that the A/C & heat are whole building and are only changed once per season, so you will bake 2-3 days around each change.

I learn that I have already made a bad review, so I have to create another account to make another one about different things.
When I was moving some stuffs out of my apartment today, the people at the front desk not only dont offer to help, but ask me to remove all the stuffs immediately. I explain everything will be away and I only have 1 person, so I am putting stuff here just for a few moment before the cars arrived. However, I was escort out.

Lived here for more than a year. The place in general is OK, staff is nice. Spacious apartments, good (but expensive) garage. Very old kitchen, but it's OK for me. But there were some issues, which forced me to leave:
1) There are no utility meters for each apartment. All the electricity, water and gas consumed by all people in the building are divided equally by the number of official tenants.
If you don't use much utilities, you still have to pay a lot (my usual bill was ~$100 per person).
2) Central AC. You can't switch it to heat/cold just for your apartment. You have to wait when management switch it for the whole building. And people start to use electrical heaters, and you have to pay for it.
3) Washing machines on the floor. First, you have to pay $2 for each wash. Second, they are occupied often when you need to do the laundry. Third, pet's hair and other stuff, left by other tenants can ruin your clothes.

I curse the day I moved in. Great staff and responsive custodians and a great price...because the building is ancient. It has centralized air conditioning, therefore you you will sweat when they turn the chillers off from October-November and slowly turn them back on April-May. Washing machines are community on each floor and cost two bucks for a basic wash and two for a basic dry. Location puts you next to a fire station. You will hear fire sirens at all times, forever. Lousy blinds let the sun peak in, so shift workers will not sleep. If you are warm blooded, a shift worker or have sleep issues, run far, far away. I'm sorry I have to write this review. The staff are wonderful. But these towers are bad.

In my opinion, Wanda Basil is a great property manager. Several months after I moved in, there were some changes being made that I didn't like so I wrote her an email saying that I was very concerned about the changes I saw being made. She immediately wrote me back and explained the reason for each change. I really appreciated that. In some cases, the changes made sense once I read the explanation. In other cases, I was simply wrong, and the change wasn't being made at all. When I wrote that email, I had never met her. Soon after, I met her and began to realize what a difficult job she has and how seriously she takes it. Two years later, she is still as responsive as she was that first time. That's what I expect in a great property manager.

Crystal towers is one of the best properties in crystal city area, just besides their amenities and great staff people, They go above and beyond for them, I go to Micheanggello every time we have a concern or a question, he is always kind and has an answer to our questions. I love my place and I look forward to stay as long as am allowed.

I lived at Crystal Towers for one year before being relocated for work. The amenities, neighborhood, and rooms were all good, but I was most impressed with the staff. From the property manager, to finance, concierges desk, department store and maintenance, I found everyone helpful and professional. I dealt with a surprise sublease and had to extend my lease month-to-month because of Covid. Management was helpful and fair throughout both processes. I d recommend it to anyone.

I have had a very enjoyable experience at Crystal Towers since moving in this past September. Peter is always extremely prompt and courteous in answering my questions. I ve had very few maintenance concerns since moving in, but all maintenance needs have been addressed in a speedy, professional manner. My dog, Gabby, also can t get enough of the dog park or treats from the concierge desk.

Really bad experience at crystal tower. I saw cockroaches every week and everywhere(in kitchen, in bathroom even in the lobby). The leasing office was rude and incapable, they lost my document but saying I didn t submit it, they even wanted to charge me for penalty. By the way, if you want to receive any reply from them by email, you should wait for a really long time. The only star is for friendly staffs at the reception.

They are charging for not enough parking spaces! Since they switch to Gates Hudson, they started to charge for surface parking. It cost me 50/month for a parking valid. The worst part is all stuffs in leasing office and concierge knew there are not enough parking spaces for surface parking. Yet, they keep charging for parking valid and never think about control car number. When you pay 50$, the only thing they can guarantee is you can park. That's it. By the way, they also told me that they have more than enough parking spaces in garage. But, it will cost me 100/month.

I moved in a little over two weeks ago, and have had only positive experiences so far. Ericka in the leasing office is incredible; honest and upfront, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the whole decision/move-in process. Julio at the front desk has also been incredibly friendly. The amenities are immaculate, the units are huge, and the pricing is very reasonable for the area and compared to other buildings. Highly recommend!

Crystal Towers is a fantastic place to live - this time around we've been here 3 years. We love it! It is so well kept and cared for inside and out. We have a very spacious 3-bedroom apartment overlooking the garden and see magnificent sunsets. Everyone is so friendly and helpful - the management, especially Wanda, Luis, Elvie, Bea, Vanessa, and all the people on the reception desk - Danielle, Ashley, Shavon and others whose names I wish I could remember, and the maintenance staff - Matt, Calvin, Bill, Bimael, Marc and others. They make a great team!
And it is in such a convenient location for restaurants, shops and the metro. We couldn't be in a better place.

Lived here for a bit more than a year. The location is very convenient, across the street from the metro entrance (through the Marriott), Pentagon City (Harris Teeter) is a ten minute walk, Whole Foods is ten minutes as well, and there are lots of little shops through the Marriott. There is also a row of various good restaurants down the street past Crystal House. I go to GW Law and it takes me about 30-35 minutes to get to the classes from my apartment. The studios are larger than you'll likely find for the same price in DC and this apartment complex is well equipped and maintained. It has a full kitchen, large closets, and, if I need anything, the staff's response is either same or next day. Also, the amenities, such as the gym, pool, grills, and looks of the building are great to have. There are also many activities, from yoga to music to free coffee, etc. throughout the year. And lastly, it's quiet and super comfy. Strongly recommended.

Crystal Towers has been a wonderful place to live. Very convenient location. Lots of amenities (the gym, nail salon and convenience store are great). The staff and maintenance personnel are very nice and professional and respond promptly to requests. The property manager, Wanda Basil, is great. She takes the time to resolve any issue that I bring directly to her. Not moving any time soon!

I have recently transferred apartment and I thought this process was going to be a headache due that I do not want to leave crystal towers, came down and micheanggello provided me with a great 1 bedroom and 1 den for my roommate. With the help of the property manager I was able to make this process very smooth, so happy for this new apartment :)

We lived here for a year and got out. We found the apartments very out of date and could not keep our unit below 80 in the summer as the chilled water system could not keep up. Might be different in one of the small units. It is a nice place to live if you are a college student, but if you don't like dorm life you will probably not be comfortable here.

i been for living in crystal towers for a few weeks and I absolutely love my place, the leasing staff Micheanggello and liana had became such a great help for me and my roommates, I tell everybody about my community property. It is a very welcome lovely place, besides the location and amenities they provide to us is great. Definitely worth it.

I just moved in and I find the place very nice, no noise from the street or the neighbors, the management is stable, great concierge, plus a giant pool and an amazing gym.
From a studio I made a one bedroom, and moving from Bethespenda, its awesome to not have to hear destruction noises 24/7!

Ms. Wanda Basil is an OUTSTANDING Manager!! Ms. Basil is always available to listen to your concerns and provides immediate assistance. No matter the request or concern, she always takes the time to listen and care. Wanda always goes above and beyond to address any issues that arise.

In my experience:

- Maintenance requests have always been fulfilled within 24 hours and done correctly.

- I have never had any issues with packages or mail.

- The pool and workout room are always great!!

- The building is always clean and well maintained.

Compared to previous apartment complexes and landlords, we are truly blessed with a great Manager that works hard to make life pleasant for all the residents and address any issues promptly.
