Crowne Plaza Ottawa Review

The experience was all good, the staff were smiling and collaborative, the place is beautiful and looks well renovated, the restaurant buffet was a bit ordinary but not very expensive. The view of the room on the other hand seemed to give on a site to look like open pit, which spoils the experience itself. A positive overall experience but not exceptional.

Our stay here could have been better. We arrived around 6:30 pm and had to wait some time before a room was given to us.

When we got to our room it was not even cleaned after the last guests had departed.

When we went down to reception another room was given to us without a explanation or anything.

We were there with 3 kids and had driven from Toronto very tired and were not given the best service.

I highly recommend this hotel, I always go there for work and the staff will do everything they can to accomodate you! I love it there!

Clean spacious rooms. No food service in the hotel. Lobby looks tired; needs a facelift.

Room service menu is a poor selection and only on TV. Didn't get the standard comfort kit usually included with CP rooms. Room ok.

Older hotel, renovations ongoing on my floor with no notice. I wish they mentioned that when I booked.

Tv is very small and the cable is intermittent due to construction activities.

Over all, go somewhere else there are nicer places around.

Decent rooms, decent service, disappointing food, few amenities (services) around.

We went for a hockey tournament of my sons. The rooms are very clean, the service was excellent and the kids loved the pool! The hotel is near several restaurants. Indoor parking is perfect in winter!

Room temperature could not be controlled. Pay per view didn't work and mediocre breakfast

It's pretty nice, clean, and the beds are comfortable.

Wifi was awefull & had way too many restrictions even for a suit. And i planned on streaming a movie but my usuial service was blocked! The life gourds did their jobn to 65% of their capability. Aside from that the time their was splendid!

Wasn't too impressed with this hotel. The toilet got clogged the first night we got there and the beds and bathroom seemed a little dirty. Staff was friendly though.

Inexperienced employee (s) no useful explanation as to where the swimming pool floor 14 does not exist in the elevator it is
PH. There is a $ 18 parking fee but they charge $ 68 they will take $ 50 off security deposit later. Yet not very long and complicated to tell the customer. But the room is superb $ 144 for a suite

Nice and calm place. Staff was also very nice and warm. The location is also great, you can easily access anywhere in ottawa. The only restaurant in there was okay.

Stayed here with my family for one week. From Aug 25 to June 1. Room 921. Had and amazing view. Great clean room, with fridge, microwave, and toaster. Good to have when you have a toddler. Excellent service from the concierge to our room maid. Highly recommend. 30 min walk to children's museum. 45 min walk to downtown Ottawa. 3 min walk to Tim Hortons. And if you have a car, everything is 5 min drive. Will definitely be coming back. The only thing I didn't like was the breakfast offered at the hotel. Could have gotten better for the price my husband and I paid. Tried the hotel breakfast on our second day. By ward market was our go to place, better food selections. We parked behind Notre Dame church. Parking after 6 pm was only 6.25 so that was great.

***** If I have lunch other than brunch, I expect to see freshly cooked food not taken from the buffet. That's why I pay and do not take the buffet.

Fairly quiet place. Right next to government buildings. Close to the river.

We are disappointed with the hotel because we stole personal belongings. And by looking for our stolen property we found some underwear that did not belong to us

The underground parking was great. The room size was a good size.

We enjoyed the view, and the location of the hotel so close to the water. We brought our dog with us for a weekend visit, and everyone was very accommodating. The pool, whirlpool and sauna were very impressive, and the lifeguard on duty was attentive and polite. The gym was absolutely wonderful, with modern equipment, and kept immaculately clean. We were a little disappointed with the condition of our window in the room. It had damage either from sunlight or moisture, so the glass was permanently foggy. But apart from that, our room was large, and well kept. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Ordinary service and clean room, but noisy (ventilation and neighbors from above). Parking is not included and for the price difference, it is possible to go elsewhere, to a better room for the same cost.

Staff were condescending when asked for directions within the hotel.

We arrived at the hotel late at night. The staff was polite and accommodating. The hotel is clean and a short walk from Parliament Hill. The hotel does seem to lack minor amenities, for example there is a fridge and a coffee maker but the room does not come stocked with snacks or drinks. Overall I am satisfied with my stay.

Absolutely fantastic service and great room. So worth the money.

Very disappointed with the menu. There were items missing on the menu which is only one page. The choice of meals is extremely limited. Apart from the salad bar, there is no choice of dishes with vegetables. The salad bar is expensive for the choices offered. And in addition there were construction noises towards the end of our meal. The manager and waitress are really nice. At least I was in good company with 2 office colleagues

My son was travelling to Ottawa with a friend and made a reservation on their website. When he made the reservation he wasn't informed they have minimum age of 21 for staying there. They cancelled his reservation when he arrived and sent him packing. It was late and we had to scramble to help him find another hotel.

Visited the hotel to film a wedding for my client. Very clean, spacious rooms.

I asked for a ground for , because my girlfriend is afrid of high places and can`t go in elevateurs and they said ok your room is one the ground floor. we got there a mouth after we made the reservation
and there ground floor is the 4th floor . we were stuck because there was not refund , so we had to take the room, we get in the room and there is no frige or micco wave , there tell me that is for the surpriere floors. there are cheep hotels and motels with these items . plus the parking at 17. dollars a night . I think if people have to lye to sale there product they must be low. I will never say at that place again and you can count on it

Rooms were average. Staff We're complacent. The restaurant at the hotel was what ruined it for me. Food was horrible. Charcuterie platter looked like they picked it up from sobeys. Insted of cured meats and cheese I received black forest ham and cubed cheddar. The calamri was over cooked. The gnocchi was soggy no attempt to pan fry at all. Fries were good though.

Hotel and rooms are nice. Parking lot has a low (6') ceiling and small spaces.

Ottawa doesn't seem to have any connection to customer service. Other Canadian cities really value their customers

OK no more. Some rooms are in serious need of maintenance especially considering the price.

Easy access, fast check-in, rooms was quite nice and comfy. all around clean. and Not overpriced. Would recommend. Fridge in room real nice if traveling with family.

They promised us 2 beds bit only got one and a pull out which is okay but not 2 beds

Room is perfect, clean and nice but during the day, something happened in the parking, they had a safety issue, I did a complaint to the service desk, the girl didn't seem to care at all and see they will take a look. The next day, they did nothing to fix it even if it was dangerous for there customers.

The view from my room was fantastic. It was a spacious, comfortable suite. I booked it partly for the kitchenette, and was disappointed that nothing was provided in that kitchenette. No dishes, cutlery or glassware. This defeated the purpose of having a kitchen. The hotel is very convenient for using the transit system.

This place was a bit rough.
(-) The person who checked me in and out was so slow. I got in late and was clearly exhausted, yet he took his time talking to me about I don't even know what.
(-) I got in just after 11 and just wanted a bottle of wine to take to my room, but apparently that's a no-no.
(-) Found a big rolled up hair ball under my pillow.
(-) Bathroom made a very weird buzzing sound.
(-) The conference I was attending was taking place literally right outside my door, in the same hallway.
(-) Concierge was rude and short when I asked them for help calling a taxi.

Would definitely not stay here again. If I have to attend another conference, I'd rather stay somewhere else and walk over.

Lights in bedroom didn't work. Breakfast buffet was overpriced for selection. Overall good stay staff was friendly.

First room provided was not cleaned, filled with pizza boxes and beer cans, 2nd room that was assigned had someone in it and we walked in on them, in total it took 3 times to get us into a room, quite ridiculous.

The organization of the buffet was appalling despite the fact that the food was good going to serve was a torture to cut your appetite.

Peaceful! The room is separated from the entrance and the bathroom by a second door, so no noise of corridor, fridge or spouse who take a shower in the middle of the night :) The bed is very comfortable. The employees are nice. The overall atmosphere is relaxing.

Our room was immaculate, beautiful and clean. We were able to have it at 1pm rather than 4pm as mentioned in the reservation. Parking was very affordable compared to Ottawa hotels at $ 18 for our overnight stay (1pm to 5:30 pm the next day). In addition, the staff were very nice and attentive.
