Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, well equipped fitness room, dated furnishings, maintenance could be better. The parking situation is convenient but ask for details at front desk don't ask valet. He twisted the explanation so I nearly agreed to $15+tip per night when it turns out parking is free.

This hotel is adorable! I stayed here for business during the day and a bit of fun at night. Walked two blocks to the Oregon district for a fresh and inspiring dinner and then caught a movie on the way back. Super Wine Dinner was taking place at the hotel and they still had a spot left when I was going to dinner so I joined. AMAZING! Fine dining menu that blew us away. The staff is so genuine and took great care of me as a female traveler that did not know downtown very well. Valet was a nice treat as I didn't want to hassle with driving in an area I didn't know too well. Now, my room was lovely. Seems it was renovated a year or so ago and was very spacious and clean with a great big TV! I will be back and thank this hotel so much~

Crowne Plaza properties may have been nice in the 80s and 90s, but the brand has done next to nothing to modernize or keep its properties up. Everything from the lackluster greeting by the person behind the desk to the dark and dingy hallways to the well worn rooms screams brand in decay. While the bed was comfortable and clean enough, the furnishings were all rather dirty haphazardly arranged. There were outlet plugs on each bedside lamp, a welcome surprise.

The Crowns Plaza Dayton had a nice environment and good breakfast. While most amenities were nice there were standards that weren't top notch. All the pillows in my room were lumpy and obviously old and worn. The water from the sinks in the evening was unbearably hot as well, making even washing hands painful.

Oh boy. Probably one if the worst hotels I've been to in my years of work travel.

Let's see: building is old and rundown, carpet is gross and needed to be replaced 15 years ago, hallways and rooms just smell bad, food was awful; like how can something be so flavorless yet still be pricey, dishes were dirty, dear lord don't look under you bed it hasn't been cleaned in 10 years, oh and to top it all off I found a half eaten cookie under the chair in my room. For the price they charge for this place this stuff is unacceptable.

Only positive thing about this place is that the people were very nice. I feel bad for them having to work there.

Stayed here for 2 nights on business and utilized the conference rooms. I found the staff to very accommodating and friendly. My room was nice with a decent view of Dayton. Lunch was provided by the hotel and it was very good as well. Was worried when I saw the reviews here rating it so low but was pleasantly surprised.

Location is adequate but not great. the parking is at the convention center across the street which is annoying but ok. Rooms are pretty standard though the bathroom is small and the wall paper is peeling off the wall. The service is really good and the restaurant on the top floor is surprisingly good.

Couldn't have asked for a better stay! My wife and I were able to check in early, which was a huge blessing! We spoke with several staff members from the front desk, housekeeping, and the hotel restaurant and everyone was very kind and welcoming. We will certainly return even if only to go visit and say hi to the staff. They really do make you feel at home.

Wonderful service! Everyone was so kind and helpful. Everything was clean. There's so much to do so close to the hotel, you truly are in such a central location. Wish I could have stayed more nights. Check out the rooftop restaurant, even if you're not going to eat, just check out the view of the city. It's stunning. We had an unforgettable anniversary

Overall it was okay! Great location, the guy at the front desk was amazing. The hotel is just ok for the price. The issue I had was they charged me double as some sort of hold and only gave me that other part back after TEN days

Has the potential to be a super nice place! It's somewhat outdated & doesn't appear to be maintained very well. The elevators are very slow and quirky. The staff is very friendly and super helpful.

I'm staying in the hotel and I guess it's decent although it really expensive..... considering all this they really don't do much for the guests. They came to clean the room but my husband and I were eating at the time so I told them to come back later and clean. They never did and I called twice for them. The next day while I was sleeping I got woke up 3 times by the door slamming and the fourth time I finally saw the lady and she wanted to know if I was checked out.... after 4 times of coming into the room knowing I was still here, walking out and slamming the door. I should have just gone to a cheap hotel like always and have better service there, like always.

Location is great for a conference. Parking is in the conference center parking lot, so getting in and out can be a pain, as you have to get parking validated every time you want to leave.

First stay in Dayton and I expect that this hotel may be the best the city has to offer. For the price the everything was decent. We had valet parking and wifi included free and we got some coupons for breakfast. The rooms were small but decent. Dinner at the restaurant upstairs was decent and the staff was extremely pleasant, helpful, and accommodating.

If you have an option, keep looking. The pros are that the location is good if you want to be close to things in downtown. Also, most of the staff are friendly, but there were a few that didn't go out of their way to be friendly. Now for the cons. The hotel was poorly maintained although it looks as though it had been recently remodeled. Wallpaper peeling, sloppy (obvious) paint splatters on the walls, dated fixtures in the bathroom, elevators that were slow and didn't work properly. In addition, housekeeping had a lot to be desired. The rooms (I stayed in two over the course of my stay) had multiple strands of women's hair on the bathroom floor, hanging off the desk chair on the back of the toilet, etc. Also, the desktops and nightstands had clear rings from a glass or can making it obvious that they had not been wiped down for some time. The mirror in the bathroom was worn along with the edges of the trim. The bed was okay, yet super firm, the desk chair was very worn and had stains on it and when I checked into my second room, the coffee maker had the previous guests used coffee cartridge still in the maker. The worst was the bathtub. It was clearly stained at the bottom and the grout in the shower had black spots that were clearly mold. It's clearly an old building that either had a rushed or cheap makeover. If you have another option, stay there, not at this place.

This hotel is TERRIBLE. One of the WORST PLACES i have ever been. The staff messed up my reservation 5 times they cancled my rooms and when I went to rebook they then messed up my room type yet again. I had to call back repeatedly. Most of the time the hotel didnt answer. Also if I called the front desk or restaurant from my room I had to call several times to get an answer. They then charged my card 154$ when I paid for the room in cash (which was only 119) I was told there would be a 20$ fee that would be dropped after we checked out but again, it was 154$. When I was trying to fix all of the problems this hotel caused the staff was very rude and gave me nothing but attitude and talked to me like I was stupid when none of the mistakes were my fault. The restaurant on the roof of the hotel for breakfast is also terrible. It was 16$ for the buffet. All there was were some oatmeal, eggs, hashbrowns and sausage. There was no more fruit and both the toaster and waffle maker were broken. The food was also less than sub par.NOT worth 16$ at all. Overall this was a terrible experience. I have been in nicer motels. Will NEVER GO HERE AGAIN. WOULD NOT RECCOMEND if youre trying to stay somewhere nice.

Absolutely beautiful rooms, even better view from our room. We had a corner room facing dayton convention center. We had a little trouble with the card key trying to get to our room, but still we will definitely be back again!!

Hmm...despite all the other reviews of this hotel, I quite liked it! Excellent service, clean rooms and newly redecorated rooms. The area around the hotel is a different story. Dayton, like the rest of Ohio and Michigan (think rust belt) died over twenty years ago. Crime and unemployment rates in the area are quite high an it shows. Areas like the Oregon district (which is pronounced ORE - GONE(haha)) are flooded with homeless, porn shops and vacated buildings.

Room was to be expected and clean. Very comfortable beds and amazing pillows. Bathroom was clean but could use a refresh. Top floor bar is good with friendly staff though a bit pricey. Very close to the great restaurants and bars in the Oregon District.

The rooms are nice enough and it's usually pretty quiet. It's a nice little cozy place to get away for couples. The staff doesn't always follow through with requests though when you talk to the front desk, even when you ask multiple times for the same things. So just make sure you pack everything you need and you'll be fine!

As soon as I opened the door to the room, the nasty chemical smell of some kind of perfumey air freshener hit me. The room was hot, so I turned on the fan (filthy) and AC, but nothing happened. When I leaned down to turn on the fan, I saw about five years of dirt in the corner of the floor. The bed is sunken in the middle.
The front desk person was very nice, very kind.

The operator of this hotel has not made any improvements in, what seems like, thirty years. Dirty, very out dated, and they should lose the name "Crowne Plaza."

Don't expect the basic amenities that come with platinum status at every other IHG property. Poorly managed, very poorly maintained, and we will not be staying here again.

Stayed here while on a business trip to Wright-Patterson AFB. Nice hotel with some benefits making your dollar go a bit further. Free breakfast in the AM and a nice social hour in the afternoon with free drinks. Parking is across the street so if you have a lot of bags you may want to drop them off out front before you park, otherwise you'll be toting them a ways.

We had a very pleasant Thanksgiving dinner at the top floor restaurant. I'm always leary of turkey at restaurants because it can be dry and chewy, but theirs was quite good. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the view. We will definitely go back someday to check out their everyday menu.

I had never been to a Crowne Plaza before and my husband and I were looking to get away for a night so we found this place online and used my employee discount and honestly this was a great experience. The room layout was nice, the bed was comfortable and the AC unit worked like a dream. The bathroom was a bit small and the sink took some manuvering to drain but overall very nice. The staff was wonderfully polite and I had a very good night's sleep. I would definitely stay here again.

Was there to photograph a Karate seminar and the room beside us was filled sority girls. They were told to keep it down once but couldn't comprehend the concept. Nobody from the Plaza kept an eye on them to make sure they kept it down so they didn't disturb us. Those girls were flat out obnoxious! Also ate there for the larate banquet and after the food was done they didn't come around with water or left any out. The room was hot and we were thirsty :/. Service overall that I saw was just ok.
