As a woman who knows little (and cares less) about the mechanics of a car, I usually feel that I'm being ripped off when I buy a car or take my car in for service. But that's not the experience I've had with Crown Honda at Southpoint. From Sales to Service, they have made me feel like a valued customer by educating me rather than taking advantage of my lack of car smarts. The Service Dept. is top-notch, and I love the ease of making service appointments online and the extended service hours, which means I don't have to take off work to have my car serviced. I've needed only routine service (oil and air filter changes) because they've kept my Honda working in peak condition.

Crown Honda of Southpoint runs an unethical and sloppy service shop. They used gasket glue on a $20 intake hose instead of replacing it - And this on a $2429.79 repair bill. Result was a hazardous to drive vehicle. Do not have your car repaired here.

Wife arranged to have the timing belt replaced on her Honda in Oct 2019. Cost was about $2429.79 for a repair that should be about half that. The repair was done in 5 hours and billed out as 8 hours. Their explanation was that time was billed per repair, not actual time. I will say they turned the car around quickly, and it was ready the next morning after a 5PM drop off.

I never use the dealer, and do most car work myself. This repair bill became a point of contention between my wife and I for several months. At the time of vehicle pickup, I made sure to go through the bill with the service department in front of my wife so she could see just exactly how they were taking advantage of us. Billing 8 hours of time for 5 hours of labor is a business model I aspire to.

Months later, her idle is wonky. Vehicle finally stalls at a light, so I take a look. I plan to clean the MAF sensor and just take a look at the air filter. While doing that, I see a big crack in the air intake hose. It looks melted. Well, there s the idle problem, I say, and go buy the part for $20.63 from Advance Auto. (Pro tip: Buy online and pick up in store Usually saves you at least 20%)

I pull out the old hose and note that there s no clamp on one of the auxiliary intakes. Weird design, but whatever. New part includes a clamp, so I put it on. I m cleaning up and find another identical clamp sitting in that little well by the windshield wipers.

Now I m starting to see what s up. They had to take the intake hose off to do the timing belt. The car has been nowhere not so much as an inspection since it was at Crown Honda. The hood hasn t even been up, so the loose clamp has been riding around this whole time.

The clamp isn t a big deal - Guys forget parts, I get it, I ve done worse. But let s get back to the air intake hose. I take a closer look at the cracks. There s one along the bottom, and it looks typical. Dry rot, the thing is 10 years old, not surprising. The top crack, tho It isn t melted. It s got black glue all over it. Like someone glued it together with gasket sealant. Because that s what someone did.

What the hell, Crown Honda? What kind of pressure are you putting on your techs to allow them to do this kind of shoddy work? Who looks at a $20 part and says Glue it and get it out the door ? How is the skilled tech who does a job in 5 hours (while billing for 8) the same tech with the tube of gasket sealant and a dry rotted air intake hose?

Does that attitude go throughout your organization, or is it just the service department?

I don t think there are acceptable answers to these questions. I think people should go somewhere else to have their car repair done. I don t trust Crown Honda of Southpoint to repair the vehicle my kids ride in, and neither should anyone else.

I ll never know if the water pump was even replaced.

Crown Honda is an excellent car dealer to buy a car from, they went the extra mile to help me program my phone and they also explained every detail about how, the Honda CRV-SE, operates. Justin Dietz is a personable, smart, and honest sales person, who did not pressure me to buy my car. He even drove to my house to pick me up so I could look at the new line of cars. Overall, I was extremely pleased with my purchase. Honda is a quality car that runs well, you'll never go wrong by choosing a Honda!

I recently got a full service on my Accord at the Southpoint location and Tim Stoneking was extremely helpful with all my needs. He responded back, even on his days off, immediately if I text him with concerns. He made sure I understood exactly what was needed and being done to my car. The entire staff there was very delightful and made my experience easy and with competitive pricing! Highly recommended. I m so happy with my car

Went in to get my horn fixed. $900 worth of "urgent fixes" (and 4 days) later, I drive away from the dealership- when my steering wheel shudders, and my steering goes out. Driving away, after THEY called ME saying it was ready.
I inch my car back to the dealership, and another 2 hours for them to "sync my steering to the computer", and I can finally take my car home. They totally fixed my horn, though...

Hondas are awesome cars, but get yours from literally anywhere else. These clowns messed up everything short of not giving me the car I paid for. Never contacted insurance, gave the DMV the wrong address so I never got my bill for registration, gave HONDA FINANCING, their own financing company, the wrong address so I never got my first bill, and the sales person I dealt with was incredibly pushy, rude, and unhelpful in trying to help me find the car I actually wanted just because it wasn't on their lot. 100% not worth the headache, go to another Honda dealer in the area.

The only cars I've ever owned (all 3 of them) have been Hondas.The 2 newest ones, I bought from Crown Honda of Southpoint. Most recently, I was looking to trade in my 2007 Civic for a 2013 CR-V. The sales person who helped me was Jason Linhardt. He was very knowledgable about the car and also showed extreme patience and kindness throughout the whole process. After going back and forth with the finance guy, he made sure that I got exactly what I wanted for the price I wanted(more or less) . In addition, since I bought my car later on in the evening, I was not able to get the cleaning/detailing done that usually happens, so I had to bring it in the next day. Jason took the time to drive me back to work himself, as the courtesy shuttle was running late.

I definitely recommend JASON LINHARDT and Crown Honda. He made this a worthwhile experience.

Mixed review. 3 Stars. - Mistakes and a long wait.

I took my Accord to Crown Southpoint on 7/30/16 just to have a replacement valet key made. The price was good. However, it took 30 minutes to get through the line just to drop the car off at 8:30 a.m. on that Saturday morning. They kept the car all day, calling us at 4:45 (15 minutes before closing) to say the car was done.

The original key and new valet key worked. HOWEVER, no one told us they needed ALL the car keys when they cut ONE new key. The next day we found another set of keys no longer worked.

We had to take the car back on 8/6/16 to have ALL the keys reprogrammed so they would all work. It took 1 hour and 35 minutes to work our way through the line of cars to get into the service bays. This time all the keys were programmed correctly and they did not make us pay again. This time they only kept the car about 4 hours.

HOWEVER, they should have told us the first time that they needed ALL the keys. They also need more service agents to check in cars being dropped off. It should not take more than 10 or 15 minutes to drop your car off for service.

Dropped my car off there on a Thursday night and they completely forgot to service it. Kept calling and apparently the guy I left it with was out that day so it just sat there all day long and I was stuck without a car. Did get it back first thing the next morning once they remembered it, after I had to call several times. Oh yeah, they wanted to charge me $2500 for four tires!!!!! Ended up getting them at Sam's Club for 500. If you have a Honda go there for the free diagnostic service and take it somewhere else and save your money ( and your time ).

Worst Experience Ever!!. Called ahead for an oil change appointment. Arrived before time at 2:30 PM and was told there is a long wait. A couple of hours into the appointment, there were no updates, so went and checked with Matthew (my assigned advisor) and was told that they are backed up and it will be close to 5 PM to get it completed. I went back at 5 PM (again no updates) and after checking three times, got an update that my car was not scheduled and will take 1.5 hours more to get the oil change. I decided to leave at that point. I was not alone and saw one more gentlemen do the same thing. This is simply Ridiculous.

I worked with Daniel Bledsoe as my salesperson, and I found him to be very straightforward and helpful. I worked with a gentleman named John, whose last name escapes me, for the financing and paperwork. He was very professional and thorough. I felt that the Honda staff were candid, professional, and helpful. I feel confident about my purchase of a 2016 Honda Fit. I would recommend this dealership, and the Honda Fit in particular, to others.

Everyone was friendly and greeted upon arrival. My salesperson Richard B, was awesome. He was knowledgeable, helpful and patient. You could tell he was passionate about the vehicles and made the experience so fun. Richard made me feel confident in my choices and comfortable while waiting for the finance person to check my application. The finance team was helpful to get the payments where I needed them and gave me options. So I felt good about my payment plan. Overall the buying experience was the best and easiest I have ever had when purchasing a new vehicle. I highly recommend Southpoint Honda for anyone looking to purchase a new or used vehicle.

Not only will I not be returning to this dealership, I will tell anyone who will listen about my awful experience. I had my car towed from Crown Honda to another dealership on the other side of the state, at my expense, because they were so incompetent. The staff was careless, disinterested, accusatory and rude. I felt that because the car was not purchased from them, they didn't care, This type of attitude towards other dealer's customers is unacceptable, uncalled for, and unwarranted. This dealership is single-handily tarnishing the HONDA name and brand. Someone from American Honda should strongly consider investigating this franchise because their methods are unethical and discriminating.

It seems that they don't mind their reputation.

I was suspicious that they'd try to tack on some fees once I was there in person, but to their credit I got my price match down to the penny. In and out in under 2 hours on a weekday evening with my new car.

I waited ~7 months for a loaner car to have my car serviced, but the repairs are not complete. Although the rattling sound from my brand new Honda Accord is better, I still hear the rattle under certain road conditions. The radio console still blacks out and the panel fails to display the correct information. I will be returning my car to service for a second time for the same repairs as soon as I find time. What a huge inconvenience to my very busy schedule.

Unsatisfactory customer service experience. New resident to North Carolina state trying to get Safety and Emissions Inspection done. Had made an appointment online for 10:45 am. On arrival, parked in the first available space of the center lane of the service area, stood next to my vehicle waiting to be checked-in by the next free agent. Was not greeted or acknowledged by any employees as I stood waiting trying to catch the attention of someone to check me in.

As I waited for a free agent, another customer, who arrived three minutes after I did, approached the desk of an agent processing documents on his workstation and was served immediately. After this agent was done serving the previous customer, I approached his desk from the front while maintaining social distancing guidelines. Agent ignored me and went to check-in an unattended vehicle that had been parked behind my vehicle by another employee, while I was waiting to be served.

After waiting more than 10 minutes and still having not been greeted nor acknowledged, approached the unattended service manager s desk. When the individual who appeared to be the service manager walked by (he was dressed differently and had been trying to jump start a car with a dead battery) I asked for his attention to be served by someone.

Total time from arrival until seated in lounge area (to wait for service to be completed): 30+ minutes. No apparent benefit to registering an appointment online. Being a customer of Honda dealership service departments in PA for the past 15 years, this is the first time that I ve not been, at minimum, acknowledged to be a customer to be served by a dealership employee.

Post-Service Edit: Time to complete inspection and additional recommended preventative maintenance work was inordinately long (5.5 hrs).

To give credit where credit is due: Service agent when I was assigned one was pleasant to speak with, informed me when the service was running long, and had an overall helpful impression.

The text communication was helpful and the speed of the service was appreciated. However, the text sent just showed a price and didn't explain what was wrong and what the fix and options were--it just wanted me to approve a price.

When I went to pick up, no team member wanted to help me or explain what was performed. They said it wasn't their problem and the person associated with my car had left for the day. That was disappointing.

Not complaining: it was stuff that needed to be done. Just wish they had told me when I called for the apt. what was needed.

Made an appointment at 8:15 in the morning and arrived at 7:45. Brought in car for a Honda recall to replace my minivan door latches. Was told it d be about two hours. 3 hours later I was told it would be longer because they d gotten really busy . I said I had to have my car by 1:30 at the latest because I had no other way to pick up my kids. They offered to drive me home and I listed at 1 pm pick up to return to retrieve my car. At 1 pm I was told it wouldn t be ready until about 3. At that point I pointed out that the car had already been there 5 hours and that I had already said I had to have my car to pick up my kids. At 1:15 I called and asked where my ride back was, they hadn t sent it because the car wasn t ready. I got back to the dealer at about 1:40 and my car was given to me at 1:50 with no explanation or apology. Entire day wasted and I was late to pick up my kids. I made an appointment so that this wouldn t happen.

The team took my service request very seriously and made sure that the fix was up to my standards. They even had a representative come with me on a drive to make sure I was satisfied with everything. I would highly recommend their accommodating service department.

Went in Wednesday, September 19th, at 11:45am, unscheduled. I asked for an oil change, tire rotation, and the "free" clear coat 6 month service. I was told that it would take 3 1/2 hours. I asked to delete the clear coat service and just change the oil and rotate the tires. He service man told me it would still take 2 1/2 hours. I told him I would take my new car to Jiffy Lube. Where is service? 2 1/2 hours for an oil change and tire rotation? There was only one car in front of me. I'm sure that the bays were full, but 2 1/2 hours for and oil change and tire rotation!!!!!????? Give me a frigging break!!!

I went into Crown Honda to have an airbag replaced (drivers side) I expected to be there for 3 hrs but it only took about 45 minutes. Usually when I take my car into the dealership regardless of the service I m receiving I can always expect to have a nice fresh vacuum of my car. This particular dealership said they did a courtesy clean, but nope they did not. I will probably think long and hard about returning. Additionally my particular service guy didn't seem to be approachable, he acted like he didn't want to talk to me.

Great service at very competitive prices. We have taken our 2012 Odyssey there. Their shop hours are very convenient, the staff is skilled and helpful, and I was pleasantly surprised with the price. They are definitely above par.

I have continued to have my 12' Odyssey serviced at Crown Honda. They have put forth great efforts to provide excellent service in taking care of the recalls, repairs and regular maintenance. I plan to continue to use them for my Honda vehicles.

Crown Honda was easy to navigate as the signage directing you to specific areas was very good. I was met by a polite, friendly employee as I entered the service area. My Honda replacement parts were quickly installed and I received a call upon completion. My service person even drove my CRV to the front service area, held the door for me and thanked me for using Crown Honda. Would recommend them to anyone with a Honda.

My Honda Civic overheated last week so I took it to Crown Honda Southpoint for a diagnosis and estimate. I was told that the head gasket needed to be fixed, the radiator had a crack in it, a cooling fan was busted, and there was a problem with the exhaust system. Head gasket alone was going to be $1800, and the total cost of all repairs would be almost $3500!
Someone I trust told me to take it to a guy that he trusted for a 2nd opinion, so I did. After a few hours, he called me and confirmed that the radiator was cracked, and the cooling fan was broken. He then told me that there WAS NOTHING WRONG with the head gasket and a simple chemical test clearly showed that. After he fixed the radiator and cooling fan, he drove the car for 30 miles and it ran perfectly with no problems. Cost me $617. I've had the car back for a few days and it runs very well with no cooling problems.
Shame on you, Honda, for trying to take advantage of your customers and make things up in order to get them to pay more money. Trust is what this is all about, and you will never see me again for any type of repair or maintenance service. Honestly, I really don't know how you people sleep at night knowing how you intentionally rip people off!

I went to Crown Honda of SouthPoint at Durham. A Honda Employee, named Oliver, sent me an email with a quotation for leasing a CRV for 36 months. I called and spoke with Shawn and Oliver, both confirming the lease amount as the dealership location was about 23 miles from my location and I didn't want to spend too much time travelling if deal is not offered per my expectations. With an email from Honda employee - Oliver - I went to the dealership to test drive CRV and do the documentation. Upon my arrival, Shawn assured me that deal was "as is" as sent in writing in the email and hence no need for talking about numbers. When it came to documentation, one of the managers jumped in and said that Oliver is new to Honda and any emails sent by him does not hold good for any deal or transaction. He refused the deal, car & any negotiation at the time I was in dealership. It was a big setback . Extremely disappointed with the way things were conducted.

The dealer called me at 7am on the day of my appointment to tell me they had no loaners available and to reschedule for the following day. The next day, they sent me to the local enterprise agency because they again had no loaner. I ended up driving a clunky Ford Fusion for two days and was late getting to work because of the delay. When I finally got my truck back, they told me that the tire pressure issue i asked them to fix had indeed been fixed. It was not. Fortunately i noticed before driving away. Very sloppy customer service.

All of the staff are really friendly and helpful. Sergio took good care of me when I purchased my 2016 Honda Civic and Tim did the same in Services.

Sergio is super personable and fairly laid back. He still checks in from time to time to check up on me and my Civic (which I purchased over a year ago.)

When I had to bring my Civic in for the piston snap ring recall on my way home I noticed the smell of something burning. I called Tim and he had a tow truck come to pick up my Civic from Raleigh to bring it back to Durham. All this was late in the evening, around 9p or so.

He personally took care of everything and had my car towed back to my home that same night, though it was really, really late (a good bit after midnight). That kind of excellent service deserves to be commended.

Highly recommend this dealership.

Do not buy from this dealership, especially a used...

Do not buy from this dealership, especially a used car. A $1,020.00 dealership fee on a $19,000 car? A rip-off fee is more like it. The two salesmen I spoke with were very dismissive and one wouldn't even let me speak without interrupting. I literally could not get a sentence out without him talking over me. I was extremely disappointed and will not be going back.
By the way, I went with the Mazda at another dealership.
