The photos on their website gave us one impression, one that was far better than the reality. Arrive and when you've figured out where to park (ignore first car park signs) you check in in the old grand looking building. After walking through reception, break out areas, past busy conference rooms, more long corridors, down stairs, a bar, more conference rooms, you're now in a red brick drab looking cheap motel feeling area of the hotel...a few more corridors and I arrived at what looked like a mile long corridor with rooms to the left and right stretching in to the distance. Room was just ok. Bar lacked any atmosphere, it's used by guests for meetings/working on laptops etc but the restaurant, having expected rubbish food, it was actually ok.

Great location and building. Was part of a Christmas party and the food was very good. The conference room was nicely set out for the occasion and there is a nice bar downstairs. The bedroom itself was nice with a very comfortable bed, although the room was very warm and the window didn't allow much fresh air. Lovely stay overall though and I would definitely recommend a visit.

Amazing venue. The beds are very springy, with real down duvets and fluffy pillows. The showers have great pressure, and very adjustable and easy to use. The towels are also massive. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful, rain or shine. The only issue is parking when there is an event or two on. Did not attend the spa.

The setting is stunning and the facilities we used were perfect. The food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall Cranage Hall is a beautiful location with an array of superb features. I will definitely be returning!

We booked a midweek stay with our 2 children aged 12 and 14 yrs.
Hotel clean and fairly helpful staff.
However, this is NOT a family hotel, this hotel is totally geared for Conferences and Weddings.
No Kids Menus, restricted to 1 hour in the pool, kids are not allowed to use Sauna or Jacuzzi.
Club members were quite rude to us and made it very clear they did not like hotel guests and children using the facilities and the pool etc.
Conference meetings would congregate in the hallways and corridors during coffee times, which made it difficult to pass through and again we felt that we were in the way.
None existent grounds with nowhere to sit outside.
Main Hotel guest sitting areas were constantly laid out for conference meetings and food area for delegates.
As PAYING hotel guests we were not made to feel welcome at all. :(

This is our third stay and we had no complaints... but on booking for my mums 70th this time I thought we had paid for an upgrade to the picture as advertised on line ... not the case !!! There on after it has been borderline faulty towers ..1 hour 20 for room service to the bar having no bottles of water . Then having twice to ask for change . So we must be paying the extra money for upgrade for basil faulty service !!!!!

The rooms are nice, with comfortable beds and there is fast wifi in the rooms. There is a desk and chair that's big enough to work on, and has enough charging points for my devices.
I also used the conference rooms and all were comfortable, cool and didn't feel cramped.
The communal areas are very well kept and very comfortable.
I would definitely stay again if I am in the area.
It is quite expensive so I did wonder about giving it 4 stars however, everything was in great condition and spotless.

Room was of a good size, the bathroom was a little disappointing with a very small bath. The staff were generally very pleasant and professional but felt they were not engaging while away from post.

Attended for a Spa day with lunch. The reception staff on arrival was very informative and helpful. Afterwards we were directed to the restaurant /bar where we were met by the restaurant manager Jayne. After explaining some allergies and the fact that we could not eat dairy or gluten she went out of her way to ensure the food met our criteria. We were served by Tina who was attentive throughout. Altogether this was the best experience we have had for many years. A real find.

The original part of the house is lovely. The room we had was good, just like any other hotel room though. The food was good but the main course was served in a deep bowl which was quite difficult to eat from. Swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna were all very nice.

To the hotel itself, I can say that it is of course typically English!

I found friendly staff and clean rooms here.

I didn't have breakfast, but I can say that it looked very neat.

The spa was also very tidy and clean.
You get towels when you register in the SPA.

Pretty tired. Most of the rooms are in an extension that is nothing like the historic property and is just a big standard cheap conference center. Such a shame to lose a beautiful property to this.

This is my favourite venue. Excellent facilities both for indoor and outdoor entertaining. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and can't do enough for you. I've done over 40 Outdoor or Indoor Laser Clay Pigeon Shoots there over the years.

A really nice place with frendly staff that will make your visit enjoyable. The rooms are tidy and well fitted out which are quiet and relaxing. If you want a nice place to stay away then give this a go...

Attended a wedding at Cranage Hall and what I saw of it seemed very nice. Lovely exterior appearance. The bar location seemed strange for residents as it was by the function rooms and therefore taken over by visiting guests. There may have been another elsewhere though.

Staff are brilliant and the location is beautiful. The food was great although it would have been very welcome to have some snacks available to purchase later in the evening as being at a work get together, we were up late socialising and drinking and we become very hungry later on. The main aspect that let it down was the room, it looked very tired and the carpet had bumps through it like it had shrunk. The bed was awful and had a concave in the middle .The bar upstairs situated near the toilets also had a very unpleasant smell which smelt like sewers.

Overall it was a pleasant stay but just needs some TLC in the rooms as I was told be other colleague they felt the same way too.

Good and clean, but rooms and facilities are a bit dated and tired. Staff very helpful and approachable. Beautiful setting, unfortunately one can hear nearby motorway when outside the buildings. Pool and sauna decent.

Shower did not work and told them over two hours to fix so we couldn't shower before going out then they had a power cut and the breakfast service was a shambles we had to leave before the power came back on and had to forgo the breakfasts More

Have eaten at Tempus restaurant several times. Menu is uninspiring and bland but well-executed; the chef is obviously competent, but doesn't seem to have much of a hand in the menu.

I really enjoyed my evening at Cranage Hall! I will reccommend and return for a longer stay next time and to take advantage of the well equipped, luxurious Spa.
The room was spacious and comfortable with a large high def TV and all the extras you could want. The attention to detail with all aspects of my stay were appreciated and in particular the things that really stand out are the turn down service (i felt spoilt), the grounds, beautiful building and architecture, but mostly the staff and what a refreshing change to meet people who take an interest and remember your name. The staff were friendly, very efficient and fun. A spacial thank you goes to Amelia, Jasmine, Rachel, Helen, David, Ahmed, Min and Reece. Thank you for a lovely stay and experience !

Turned up and the place was in darkness ! Due to a power cut! But from the moment we step in too the reception area till we left, it was very good and being a young work force they were very professional in all ways

Big spa and hotel. A bit of a maze to get to the many rooms but the state rooms, receptions and bar area is well decorated and impressive. Room came with lots of nice touches (bath robes, chocolates, bottled water, beer) and very comfy bed. Had am emergency and didn't need the double room and unfortunately staff couldn't downgrade easily or cancel the breakfast as deal price was discounted already. Very friendly staff though and I understand the difficulty! Thanks for the stay!

Don't be fooled by the grandeur of the frontage, the rooms are in a prison block. They should be charging hostel prices considering the quality of the rooms and food. Blood on hair dryer, dead insects all over the restaurant and mould in the bathrooms.
