What can you say about the Disneyland of microbrew...
What can you say about the Disneyland of microbreweries? The food is farm fresh and from the local farms and delicious. The tour was well worth the money. Beer is top notch.

We've been to this brewery 4 times and enjoy the atmosphere Thetford and most of all the friendly staff.
I would strongly recommend this place for anyone to eat at , the best food experience great chef ,the service is exceptional the beer is great from the brewery.
Excellent service during covid. great burgers and salad was fresh and tasty.
Waited 3 hours for food. Their beer is great and great atmosphere as well. Staff were dismissive and unwelcoming. Stick to brewing that great beer cowbell
Great food, great staff, and very sharp building/branding.
1. The food was very well done and reasonably priced. I had the Bruschetta, and I normally HATE tomatoes, however anything on Burdan's Red Cat Sourdough is bound to be awesome. The Balsamic reduction on top and crispiness of the bread was great. I also had the Margarita Pizza, which was another winner. I don't believe they use Pine River (or other local Cheese), however the Buffalo mozzarella was fantastic and the fresh basil on top was heavenly (more of a basil pesto rather than basil leaf, which I preferred). I tried a variety of beers, and altogether my bill came to $26. Pretty amazing since I used to live in Toronto and you can't get a meal like that for under $40! So pretty great value and all of it fresh and beautiful.
I also have to give them credit where the menu is concerned. The small, uncomplicated menu looked great. everything local and fresh (Metzgers, Red Cat, etc) and nothing was too complicated. It really bothers me when restaurants in town have things like Calamari, or other dishes that come pre-packaged on their menu. We live in one of the most agriculturally productive counties in Canada and you can't even be bothered to get your ingredients in your own backyard? It's about having pride in what you cook and where you come from, and Cowbell does a great job of both.
2. The staff was amazing. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, everyone was smiling and professional, and I could tell all of them were ready and eager to answer any question I had. Seriously. They all kind of stared at me in anticipation, hoping i'd ask about tours or beers or the history of Blyth or anything. It was seriously very endearing.
We sat at the bar and all the bartenders were bopping along, working or chatting with their customers. I listened over and over again as one bartender (short blonde mohawk style hairdo wearing glasses) told different groups over and over how amazing the Sparlings are, how they support the community, how she's proud to work at Cowbell. Finding staff like that is literally like hitting the jackpot, but it's also a ringing endorsement for the Sparlings as well as the hard work everyone has done behind the scenes. When people love their job, it shows.
3. That building is amazing. Beautifully laid out, branding everywhere. It really is the gem of Huron County. The General Store had lots of really cool souvenirs to buy, and I could tell a lot of thought was put into the items they were looking to sell - nothing looked cheap, and I could tell everything was designed with intention. The whole building also had a general buzz about it - could be because it's brand new and the excitement is still in the air, but generally it just had good vibes all around. I was also really glad that we were welcome to wander around and take a look at the place from the catwalk above. I super loved snooping around and not feeling self-conscious about it.
In conclusion, this is a crazy long review so I just want to finish this out by saying no, I don't work for Cowbell and I have no affiliation to the Sparling family whatsoever. It's just so damn refreshing to see such a cool project actually get done in Huron County. I have long thought that this county is dying out a little (seems like every year we loose all our young people/innovators to Toronto), however I really feel like Cowbell has the potential to breath new life into Blyth and the county as a whole.
I'm definitely looking forward to more cowbell in my life!
Good pizza and burger. Nice burger sauce. Food could have been hotter. Great ambiance. Service ok. Great beer.
Great beer and place to go. They follow social distancing very well and you can enjoy your time there
Our New Years Eve. We went to Cowbell Brewery for a friend's 25th birthday, there were 26 of us in the group. We paid 90$ a ticket for a 4 course meal and champagne toast at midnight. By 11 pm we had not got our entrees and we all realized they had stopped serving us drinks about an hour before that. About 3 of us began speaking with management and we were basically told that we weren t the right fit for the event/venue and they began getting our drink bills ready and packing up our desserts, which we all ended up leaving there. By the time we corralled everyone out of there, we spent our midnight sitting on our party bus (which cost us 50$ each) on our way back to home. We have since put in multiple complaints and all they offered us was a stupid 25$ gift card for their brewery which I nastily declined. 26 x $90 each, our group gave them $2340 for this event and were treated very disrespectfully.
Excellent selection of beers, fantastic pizza and the staff do a great job.
We went to Cowbell yesterday for the first time. Our first hour was spent with Storyteller Floyd as he gave us a tour and a wonderful history of the brewery. Floyd was amazing and it was a ton of fun to learn about where all the names of beers and rooms came from. Then onto lunch. Our table was promptly ready and sanitized for us. Marissa came over quickly and was a knowledgeable, fun and attentive server. We absolutely loved the food, service and atmosphere. To top it all off, a visit from F&B director Dan just made our day. We can't say enough what a wonderful visit we had and we absolutely can't wait to visit again. Thank you Cowbell!
Had a good experience staff was polite ...cozy fireplace ...food was good ..price was reasonable we will return !!!
We had a wonderful time tonight I had the 10 oz steak with Rutabaga and Cauliflower. My love had the Salmon with the Mac and Cheese and Rutabaga it was so tasty can wait to come back sometime in the summer to sit on the patio. Cheers
Great beer, great food, great atmosphere. Love to stop in to this place
Love the atmosphere great food and lots of Beer. Nice fun thing to do on a Sunday...staff are fun too!!!!!
Beer 3/5
Food 4/5
We did curbside takeout and while the food was very good, the beer was lacking. Of the three beers we tried one one was interesting enough for us to consider buying. We will definitely get food from Cowbell again when in the Blyth area!
We stopped in to sample the beer, then saw the amazing food and had to go back for dinner. The b'udder beer for the transfiguration festival was amazing
Amazing brewery to check out!! The staff is very friendly and helpful, the gift shop has so many accessories to buy. The food was pretty good and the prices were reasonable. The menu selection was good. Love the atmosphere and decor, would be beautiful to go when it s warm to sit outside and enjoy a beer.
Need to figure out how to manage the flow of customers better. Confusing bar layout. Is this a brewery or a brew pup?
Very nice facility though!
My new favourite beer, Shindig, is what brought me here with my girlfriend, but everything else about the place blew us away. It's a gorgeous facility where every detail was thought through. I tried the rest of the beers and was very impressed with them as well. After taking a tour with our guide who was full of interesting stories and information, we sat down for a fabulous lunch. Everything we ate was exquisite and using quality local ingredients. We're both quite eager to return as soon as we can.
Amazing gem in the country. Food was exquisite and service was outstanding. Check out the wicked pic on the way in.
Whiskey sour..... amazing. Architecture.... even more amazing
Quality of food and service received was outstanding. Best burger I've had in a long time and the kids loved the pizza too. Well worth the drive !
What a wonderful experience!! We were 4 people, there for lunch. The service was absolutely excellent, prompt, friendly and efficient; we were well looked after! The pre-cautions taken were fantastic, thorough and we felt very safe. While the food was delicious, what really stood out was the amazing selection of craft beer! Outstanding! Come visit, you'll be happy you did!
The food is always amazing, beer is always delicious, and service is always top notch. We drove from London for lunch. We didn't think to make reservations, unfortunately they were booked up. Eating in the tent area was an option but my mother-in-law wanted to eat on the patio. The lady working up front went above and beyond to sqeeze us in on the patio. We did have to come back an hour and a half later but we just went to the beach. We really appreciated it, she was awesome.
I have also attended a wedding here and it was absolutely beautiful, one of the best weddings I have attended.
Cowbell is always worth the drive!
Great place. Good beers, excellent food, servers who take care of you.
Horrible experience. Hostess was very rude. We had to wait 30 min to place an order. Then told we couldn't order because where we were sitting was for waiting list only, then they asked us to give up our seats and go wait!! Can you believe it? 40 minuites and then leave???
Great place for food and drink. The spinach fondue was amazing, the pretzel it was served with was just right. Also had the arugala and procuito pizza, which was good, but a bit heavy on the arugala. The beer selection was very good. We sampled all of them and they were all quite nice. Would definitely go again.
Exceptional service and great food. It was very busy when we arrived and they setup us with a pager and soon after that we were seated. We were taken care of quickly and enjoyed our great food.
really amazing place. food was great. love that we can tour the brewery
Had a great assortment of beers! The professionalism of service was amazing! Even for kids it was a great place to go!
Great place. Beautiful building. Great beer, great food, great service.
Amazing food, amazing venue, amazing beer. I can't say anything bad about this place
Nice meal, good beer and knowledgeable staff. Worth the ride!
What seems like a hidden gem in a small SW Ontario town, just an hour and change north of London. Amazing food and, of course, great beer!
Unbelievable building. I believe the quote that captures it best is "it's like Disney for brewers!". Well worth a visit. To be honest I find their beer good (not outstanding), but great diversity of brews and the facility is something to admire. You will not be disappointed.
We had a fabulous time at Cowbell. We all cruised there in our Porsches last year as a group of at least 80 people. The atmosphere, the staff, the food, everything was perfect. I can't wait to go back sometime & order off their menu! Cheers!
Food was great. A good spot for a change of atmosphere in Blyth area.
Absolutely, without question, the WORST customer service I have ever encountered in my ENTIRE life. We called ahead to make a reservation for six and were told that the restaurant didn't take reservations for six; not that the restaurant was fully booked, not that there wasn't a reservation for that size available at the requested time, but that reservations of six were not taken. Upon arriving at the restaurant we were then told that the long tables in the bar area couldn't be reserved because they were on a first-come-first-served basis. So, since there was a bar table open, we asked a man at the reservation desk if we could sit at that table and he said we could. We sat down and within ten minutes an incredibly rude waitress came to the table and told us we had to vacate the table. This request was not done in a polite manner; we weren't offered another table, we weren't invited to join the waiting list, we were literally told that we had to leave the table. When we asked why, we were told that the table was reserved despite being told that the table was un-reservable. A manager then came to the table and asked us to leave the table, again without providing us with any other option other than to leave the restaurant. As this was happening, the bartenders and servers were sneering and laughing at us! I am absolutely mind-blown over the rudeness and lack of problem-solving ability of the ignorant staff. We have a cottage not far from Blyth and Cowbell is enroute. My family and I will never, ever purchase another Cowbell product or enter into that establishment ever again following this experience. We will also be sure to advise our friends, colleagues and renters that they should avoid this establishment at all costs. I could not be more disappointed.
Good place to go if you want to be treated like a person of colour in 1950s USA. While you will not be allowed inside the actual restaurant - there may be a tent outside where they might accommodate you. Reservations required - unless you re white.
Great atmosphere and incredibly friendly staff. Didn t try any food but the beer was terrific! Only criticism is the wait for a table was pretty long. Line up at the front was misleading. We just wanted a beer and found out the initial line was for a table. So we just grabbed some at the bar and walked around. That being said if we had been waiting for a table the wait seemed long and the turnover seemed very slow. But we will be back for round 2 based on the super friendly staff and welcoming energy.
Great experience here. Call ahead as there is often a long wait, especially on weekends. Food options are delicious. Staff is very friendly. Building is beautiful! Tour options available and a great venue for work events! Recommend heading there for your next family dinner. Stop by the store after to pick up your favourite drinks!
The Cowbell facility, beer, and staff are excellent, I would give them a 5 star for that.
But in terms of the food, and service - we were not impressed. The pizza had a great dough, but the toppings on it and taste was not good at all. The salmon was fantastic, but the Brussels sprout side was cold and not flavourful at all.
It took forever to get our main course, and it looked like the head chef was playing favourites. We noticed that the chef was handing out a beautiful platter of desserts in small squares to a few tables, we asked our server about it and were informed that dessert option isn't actually on the menu. I was really curious about it, so I asked the server if I could speak with the chef to learn more about it, and the chef never bothered to speak to us about it.
A chef shouldn't play favourites in a restaurant full of people that can see what he is doing. If your going to promote something, you should promote it to everyone, not just a select few. If the chef took the time to speak with us, and told us about this dessert option, we would have gladly paid for it, but we weren't even given that opportunity.
I don't think I will return to the restaurant portion of your facility again.
i was disappointed in my meal. I ordered the half chicken which I expected the breast and leg areas
not TWO legs if that is half a chicken dinner then call it like you see it DOUBLE leg.
potatoes were cool cauliflower top pieces were hot but disappointed as tasted stale.
would i go back not at this time
Really great food and great place definitely recommend
A nice place for a pit stop if you're heading to the lake or out for a bike ride. Great service and atmosphere. Do a self guided tour and pick up a few cans at their gift shop on your way.
Probably one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. Great beer, with lots to choose from. Cool atmosphere, friendly staff, spotless restrooms - can't go wrong with a visit to this place. Kids are eager to go back, I myself am anticipating another visit ASAP.
A very nice meal with good selection of drinks. Gift store was also a nice touch.
Drove 4 hours booked a room near by our 48th anniversary had been recommended what a mistake!!! The meal was a sad mess the chicken dinner was the size of a pigeon should have ate at swiss chalet for the price the chicken hoagie sandwich was like a rubber ball on a bun boardering on raw in some areas they were not very friendly they did a good job at making our anniversary a bad experience to remember dont make a special trip!!
Food and beer was excellent. Our server was friendly. Atmosphere was pleasant. We waited a long time for our food considering the restaurant wasn't overly busy.
Great beer, Great food, amazing service from Ben our Waiter, and an Awesome atmosphere! Highly recommend this place!
Beautiful building, great service and amazing food. Will definately be back!!
Great beers, great food, solid menu selection, reasonable prices. Really nice venue as well - will be back for sure.
Drove a half an hour with family for a relaxing supper. We got there and they were closed to the public. We checked on their website before we came and everything said that they were open. Very disappointed.
I've personally had the prosciutto and arugula pizza and the most delicious beer flight. I would definitely visit again!!
Great all around. Awesome venue, great beer, service was friendly. Food was a plus - had a steak dinner and could hardly finish it the portions were huge. Could be that I had appetizers and beer before...also, they have private rooms for parties, definitely recommend that.
Delicious food and a great selection of beer. They make it super easy for you to explore many of their drinks on the cheap with small sizes and options for flights. They have a patio, but do be warned, they have a bit of a fly problem at the moment. They have put out traps to try and stop the problem, but it is quite a nuisance while you and trying to enjoy your meal + beverage. They still get 5 stars because of the delicious food + beverages!
Beautiful facility. Food was good, a little on the expensive side, but I'm happy to support local businesses.
Beer is great! Will be making another trip sometime.
Food, good.
Building, good.
Beer, good.
Experience, real good.
Awesome guided tour. Servers were all amazing and friendly too. Mac and cheese was deliciousalomg with the goat cheese and bacon dip. The tomahawk steak was perfectly cooked and melt in your mouth. Topping it off was probably was one of the best spicy Caesars I've ever. Definitely recommending people visit. I've already got my friends hooked on the Boxing Bruin.
Great place but very busy would recommend reservations.
Disappointing from start to finish! To start I have to compliment the beauty and craftsmanship of the Cowbell building. The team that built that facility did an amazing job, too bad that is were it ends. After ordering two flights of beer to try Cowbells beer line up, I was left tasting scented (Iodine-Ammonia-vinegar) detergent on all the glassware. I brought this to the attention of our waiter and her response was "haha well I guess that means its clean". I had ordered a bruschetta app that was over all boring and something I would expect from a cheap chain restaurant. My main was the 10 oz steak (rare) with mac and cheese side and a Cesar salad. The steak was served medium and was clearly cooked at too low of a temp preventing the fat to render and lacking a caramelized flavour. As for the mac and cheese I would expect a better attempt at a basic american dish from a prison cafeteria (liquid, flavorless, toddlers food). After bringing the deplorable food to the waiters attention the manager was sent to our table. The manager missed the basics in customer service when he tried to offer a free dessert with my next trip there, rather then making my meal right. Over half my meal was sent back to the kitchen and I was left Paying almost $100 for two pathetic meals and crappy customer service. Not worth the drive, not even if you lived across the road.
So busy. Wish there was more bar tables for people just getting beer rather than eating. We were told we could just have beer but we were only able to walk around.
Food was phenomenal and the beer select is mint. Excellent job!
Went to Cowbell for the first time! Amazing food and great service!! Will definitely be back!
Wonderful brewery! Quaint on the inside and outside and has some great beers. Wish they canned more of their flavours but understand why they don't.
Loved it. Great food and amazing service. Will be going back.
If you're a fan of beer and/or food, you owe yourself a drive to Blyth to experience this one of a kind brew house!
Excellent venue. Food was very good. We did a self guided tour and found it quite interesting.
Amazing food and beer! Didn't have a reservation but wait wasn't too long. Ben our server did a fantastic job. We will definitely return soon.
Amazing beer, try the renegade IPA you won't regret it. The food was outstanding, and the building is beautiful.
Great place in the middle of nowhere. Do to Covid there was limit about of seating and that includes the outside area on the green! Great place for a motorcycle ride for lunch!
Made one of many trips to Cowbell tonight for dinner. As always the service and beer were excellent!!
We often go to Cowbell because it s one of the better places in Huron County in terms of vegetarian options. The Herbivore 2.0 wasn t nearly as good as the previous versions though, so it would be nice to see other veggie sandwichs.
Always a great experience. Service, drinks , atmosphere & food
Great service and the food was tasty! Courtney did a great job of making sure went had everything we needed!
Amazing place! Without a doubt, the finest Craft brewery I have visited. The beauty of the wood, coupled with the highly polished stainless steel vats and tanks, make touring this facility a real eye catcher. The many different craft Ales and Lagers etc. are top class and you can sit and sample products, at the bar, or enjoy a nice cold beer on the patio, or while dining at the restaurant. I did both and the overall experience was fantastic. The gift shop is well stocked with various vessels of Cowbell's fine products, from a Growler to a mixed six pack of cans, no need to leave empty handed. Also great T-shirts, Hoodies, Shirts and more Cowbell brewery merchandise for purchase. 10 /10
Food was really good but the wait was extremely long to get a table and a friend's order looked almost like a child's portion by how small it was and was definitely a bit pricey.
Really neat to be able to walk through and take a self guided tour of the brewery!
Overall though I will definitely be coming back... Its worth the wait!
I do not mean this to be a scathing review of the Cowbell Brewery. This is only my opinion of my first visit.
First of all I had made a reservation 2 months in advance for myself and my wife to have dinner. Once we got there we were seated at the equivalent of a high top bar table. There are no regular dining tables for a couple to be seated at and they are obviously unwilling to seat 2 people at a table for 4. This is a serious oversight in planning. Couples are going to want to go out for a nice dinner and not have to sit in a bar setting. The tables that are in the dining area look like they were thrown into the room and were left where they landed. It resembles chaos.
Secondly is the food. We started with crab cakes. They were crispy on the outside and were nothing but bland paste on the inside. We also ordered a procuttio and arugala pizza. This had a good flavour but the crust was not cooked in the center. I have a suspicion that their pizza oven was not hot enough or the cook not experienced enough. Regardless the dough was not cooked.
Except for the bar and dining area the rest of the building seemed well thought out. A walk upstairs reveals the inner workings of the brewery and a couple of rooms dedicated to corporate events or meetings. One thing worth mentioning to the management was the gentleman with "Security" written on his shirt who was drinking a beer and quickly hid it behind the upstairs bar when my wife spotted it.
The layout of the bar somewhat perplexed me. All of the taps are against the back wall which seems wrong to me. A bartender is not only there to pour drinks but to engage the customer in polite conversation. This is hard to do with their back turned to the customer.
Cowbell Brewery does produce some good beer but as a restaurant they need to decide if they are a pub or a dining room. The menu leads you to think you to think they are more than just a pub but the quality of the food and the surroundings in the dining area need serious work and improvement.
Overall it is a magnificent building to look at and explore. I do hope there are improvements made in the near future since it has the potential of being a great dining experience. The one thing I won't do again is wait 2 months to be seated at a bar table.
excellent service, polite, friendly, engaging. thoroughly enjoyed our meal. nice selection of craft beers
Friendly waitress. Great beers and food. What more could you ask for!
Great restaurant. Good service. Very busy, good to see in a smaller town. You can also try out the beers brewed as well as buy them.
