Disappointing to say the least. Staff tried their best however are let down by un supporting management. Waited over an hour for Food, was cold, sent back and waited another hour. Still no food. No dinner that night and we wern't the only ones. Decor tired and needs an update. The resort is a lovely location and has alot of potential but needs new owner/management to realise its full potential.

Overall the facilities and location are generally pleasant. However the children's playground whilst large with lots of equipment is in a very poor state. The metal play equipment is rusted and dangerous in a number of places. The plastic equipment is dirty and faded.
The main pool area for children was missing a number of shade sails and the paved area around the pool was badly fouled with duck droppings. The bottom of the pool was also dirty mainly with duck droppings.
There were a number of adults (who were accompanying children) who were either in the pool or sitting on the side with glass beer bottles. Throughout a period of 5hrs I didn't see any Couran Cove employees address the situation.

I have been having the worst experience with the resort post service. I stayed in the resort 3 weeks ago. Once I checked my bank account it got a purchase of $200 which I don t recognise. Then I have called the resort plenty of times to see what is about and no one knows what to say... they just say they will call me back and drop the call and do not answer anymore. I have emailed them many times as well. Such a poor service is unacceptable to this kind of resort. I will have to get it sorted by justice as they have no respect with their customers.

Very peaceful and quiet island getaway. The staff are very friendly, courteous and helpful. There's only a couple things to do on the island for couples there's the spa, vr world and water activities, highly recommend hiring a bike to get around on. I would say it's more a family friendly destination all in all though.

Lovely staff. Marina is quiet and pleasant. Marina amenities are adequate but may suffer during peaks times as there is only a single shower in the mens and a single in the womens.

We went over to the pool restaurant in the morning 10:30am to ask about dinner. The staff gave us a dinner menu to peruse and said that everything was available for takeaway. We planned on getting a couple of pizzas, but when we went back at 6pm everything was closed and in darkness. Very dissappointed given that we had checked ahead of time. The day staff don't seem to know anything about what happens after the last ferry leaves.

The staff at the poolside cafe were friendly and helpful. The staff at the front reception are not trained properly to handle general enquiries and have alot of trouble with the computer system. The beds are like sleeping on rocks.

Worst experience and most incompetent management. Went there for two nights, left our bags in care of front desk while our room was getting ready. While waiting had some awful very overpriced garbage for food and rented bicycles for two day at $100.
Came back to reception once the room was ready, our bag was lost. After 4 hours of aggravation and waiting took a boat back as one cannot stay in an island without personal gears and clothing with no stores around. We were promised to that they will reverse the charges for unused bicycles. They found our bag and after two days we had to go get it from their office they would not wanted to courier or deliver it back to us. More than three weeks has past. No refund, no credit back, they even have hold on to $300 security deposit as a charge to my card. My very precious hard to have two days get away alone with my wife was ruined. Do yourselves a favour and give this place a miss.

Our 3rd stay here now and probably won't come back and that is disappointing to stay the least.. it is such a lovely place but run by money hungry sharks that to sponge every penny out of you.. We bring our small boat and stay in their accommodation, but now they want to charge us a mounting fee of $40 night... That to me seems extremely high if you are NOT staying on your boat and just parking for the night..also the prices of the food and drinks are now way more than when we first started coming here and that us only in a 12 month period. A beer and a spirit drink cost us $18. In a nutshell, awesome facilities and fantastic place to relax or have fun but once again the dollar is more important than a satisfied customer.

Would give 5 stars if not for the inflexibility of chef and staff. Great place for a short stay, midweek no evening entertainment but free kayaks and activities during the day. Wallabies on the lagoon and shuttle service to beach. Pack insect repellent! Cocktails a bit pricey $18 for a 2/3 full espresso martini considering it was short expected it to be strong but didnt taste of alcohol. Ordered rib fillet at poolbar and asked to swap chips for mash..staff said if she asked chef would bite her head off. 2nd night at marina restaurant ordered salmon again asked to swap chips for potato mash staff said chef doesnt like to change orders n would likely charge $9 for side of mash..order came out with chips. Ordered 2 flat whites one lactose free, staff bought it out and said she started talking to someone n forgot which one was which..and said we we should be able to taste the difference to work it out (not likely). But other than poor dining experiences a good short getaway. 1 bdm waterfront very spacious and nice views.staff on reception were friendly.

The best day ever! Definitely go check it out for a daytrip or a few nights. So many things to do including paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming, bike trails, hiking, good eats and the most beautiful beach I've ever seen. Will definitely be going back! Enjoy this place.

Just got home from a 3 night stay and we were incredibly disappointed. Appeared run down, actually some areas looked abandoned with facilities broken, unmanned or closed. The activities board had ZERO activities listed and nobody told us about anything to do. I will write to management with a list of potential improvements because it is such a shame this beautiful environment is so sadly underwhelming.

From start to finish a very disappointing experience. Quality of the resort is very run down and very minimal staff. Some of the advertised amenities on the website not open or running. No Shuttle bus or carts to take you anywhere. Beach Club Closed. The advertised pontoon for the 4 Bedroom Villa is not available and rented out to someone else. Table booked for dinner given away to someone else. Food took over 1 1/2 hours and still where missing 2 meals. Staff clearly don't care. Staff sitting in the guest areas drinking and smoking. Didn't seem to be anyone running the place at all.

Lovely isolated island with nice facilities, only problem was it looked a bit run down. Getting arround the resort was a mission sometimes if you didn't ask for help or have the resort map. Would definitely recommend if you have your own boat to visit or on the sea plane for a day trip.

i have been to couran cove a number of times and have always enjoyed it. i had some concerns last week when i was there at the aqua park. one of the slides has a pool at the bottom that is difficult for children to get out of.i feel it could be a hazard and i mentioned it to the staff who said they are aware of the problem and will attend to it. otherwise i think it is a unique place to visit and i have recommended it to friends. ours was a day trip

Great place, terrible management. It's been two weeks since our stay and they haven't been able to release the $300 bond to our account. When asked for help, they said there's nothing they can do and I'll need to wait. Sounds very professional on your behalf! (not)

I understand there's an issue and it may be out of your hands (not really sure how), but that's when customer service could make a huge difference and your establishment has none.

If I'd taken the hint when trying to contact recep...

If I'd taken the hint when trying to contact reception the morning of our arrival, and not ever speaking to anyone, despite 6 attempts, listening to some cracked record playing hold music for an actual eternity - I would have left before I had even boarded the ferry. But then I would have missed the ferry being 45 mins late. 3 stars?

A faster than expected, reasonably plesent "ferry" ride across to the "resort" (the seats were dead set school chairs, you know the ones that clip together in a row..), we arrive at reception. Strangely, everyone appears to be lined up, looking pissed-off, and complaining loudly, and that's just the staff (of which there is a very slight smattering of across the island).

I eventually make it to the counter and a teenage boy greets me in a very non-chalant, as in "screw you, I don't even want to be here", kind of way. He proceeds to tell me my room is approx. 1.5km away, he can't "give me a lift" because they are "about to knock-off", hands me a map (which he politely circled the location of our "accommodation" on) and sends me, my wife, my 5yr old daughter, my 17 month old son in a pram, two crammed full suitcases (on wheels thankfully), each weighing approx. 25kgs, and heaps of other bags/stuff, on our merry way (in the 30 degree, feels like 38, 90% humidity, not a scerick of breese day). Still 3 stars? 2.5 maybe.

Onwards we march. A nice rainforest stroll on the way and we are getting close. A word of advice at this point - do not follow the signs. In fact, ignore the signs all together. Don't even look at them. The map is o.k.

We arrive. Swipe the entrance card......red flashing light. Try the other one. You guessed it......Hold music. You wait here with the angels and I'll totter back to reception and sort it out. On the way back see some smiling chap in the back of a golf cart being delivered to his room with his smart looking suitcase. 2 stars.

At reception I land with an older staff member (manager?). Oh those don't work you need this key. Aaahhh ok. I'll grab these two 1.5L bottles of solo and 2L of (light, that's all they had) milk. Ok. $18 please.......$18! No lift back to the room offered or available when I asked. 1.5 stars?

Get back to the room, exhausted. Go to bed early. Wake up to three days of long lines, no staff, no shop! absolutely no groceries! anywhere! other than random bread, milk, juice, soft drink that would show up in a fridge in reception occasionally.

If you must come, bring everything with you if not staying in the "luxury" "marine" "precinct". We had a cooktop and a microwave. No stove? No toaster?? No kettle??? Why the face?.

Fast forward to organising to leave this afternoon. Can we please book a ferry for tomorrow out of this hellhole. Speaking to the managerial kinda guy again. Sure. Earliest is 8:30. Can we PLEASE get somebody to pick us and our belongs up, and deliver us to the ferry. Uuuummmmm. Suuurree. Just let me see.... uuuummmm. I'll set a reminder in my phone later. I'm not holding my breath. We'll see what happens in the morning. Zero stars.

I have been a very regular visitor for a couple of years staying in the marina on our boat. The food up until now has been average but with the new menu it is now great. I can only comment on how much of an improvement it is. As a regular visitor the improvements are many and I look forward to my next visit.

Terrible service TV didn t work sparks came out of ceiling fan switch then stopped working. WiFi was non existent, infested with ants. No trolleys or assistants with luggage for the mission to get to the room. The fly screens were ripped and had no room clean or fresh towels. Reported issues daily with no assistance for the five days we stayed there. Not happy for the money we payed don t stay here.

Awesome place and first class service. My new cell phone fell in the muddy water and I lost hope to get it back ever but one of their staff Mitch dived in bravely and saved my phone from deep muddy water and surprisingly the phone was on and completely safe. All the employees are very helpful and always smiling.Rooms are clean, spacious and very well managed and really good activities for all ages.

To often i heard we don't offer that during quiet time. February mind you. The shop was very empty because of "the quiet time" cafe/ winebar was never open. Staff at pool side cafe were rude. Person running the standup paddle boards and kayakes was not helpful and rarely looked up from his phone. There was no clothes airer in the room. Rooms need to be serviced more regularly, or enough in room supplies eg: tea coffee toilet paper.

Resort is understaffed. At the restaurant one evening, was given incorrect bill for our meal, I told them that it was not mine. They then billed me for our meal but still charged me for the incorrect meal to my room account anyway! Therefore I was overcharged on my checkout bill and even though I email every single day, I am still trying to get it sorted - They are very slow to answer my emails and seem reluctant to want to help me in any real way. After sending many emails requesting someone contact me - and I phoned them lots of times but had to leave messages each time as no-one seems able to help or staff is unable to answer calls! BTW - none of my ph messages have been returned to date! I have reatedly asked that all my signed room charges bills be sent to me to verify my purchases..... This has still never happened..... I have finally received a call from reception saying they are able to refund me. The problem is that it is the wrong amount. When I asked why they werent refunding the correct amount, I discovered that the person hadn't even bothered to read any of my many emails and so she didnt know any details of my claim. When I asked why she hasn't bothered to read the emails, she couldn't answer me. She said she will now read them and get back with answer soon......That was a week ago! I am still trying to resolve this many many weeks after my stay! Very poor customer service guys! Funny thing is this: I had a long meeting with one of their managers/owners about purchasing two units at the resort........and up till now, was quite keen on investing there but I cannot get past this rubbish and wont subject any of my guests to this carry on!

We weren't told you couldn't take vehicles and the last ferry leaves shortly after 3pm. We requested a 5pm checking and got an email response saying it was fine. Reception also closes at 6pm and breakfast doesn't open until 7:30am which isn't much help to those that need to checkout and catch the 8:30am ferry or early wakers. Queen bed was 2 singles pushed together which were cheap and aging inner spring and the place was very expensive. Water looked beautiful though.

Water tastes funny but at least it s clean on our first day. However, when I tried to take a bath on the second night of our holiday, I found out all the tap water besides the drinking water was dark yellow. Moreover, we went to the restaurant to buy bottled water, the waitress told us that water was yellow since the earlier morning and no one had notified us anything. This is absolutely unacceptable!!

There re 2 restaurants and 1 cafe in the resort and the food is over priced. The only general store on the island that barely sells anything. Every shop including front desk starts at 8:30 except one restaurant which opens at 7:30 which means there s nothing to do if you wake up before 7:30. There are no medical center, no lifeguards so just don t get hurt or drown. We paid 28 dollars for 2 glasses of cocktail that s made by someone who had no idea how to make them.

This is the worst holiday I ve ever had in my life!

I wish I could give this no stars. Found a "deal"...

I wish I could give this no stars. Found a "deal" on groupon for a two night stay with breakfasts and a bottle of wine for $269. Thinking this was a good deal for a supposed 4 star resort, I bought the coupon and booked the trip on the weekdays during vacation. After booking I found on the website that you have to pay extra for transport to the resort AND parking fees to leave your car at the ferry dock. So all up it ended up costing more than I bargained for. I wouldn't have been upset had the resort been worth the money, but even with this discounted rate, the stay at this resort was not worth even a fraction of what I payed.

We were not told ahead of time that their nicer restaurant was only open on weekends. They had one restaurant open that served extremely overpriced garbage food. It was so bad that I was actually disappointed that breakfast was included in the deal. Would have rather packed muesli bars and eaten them for breakfast. There was a surf club not too far away, but this turned out to be closed as well for the weekdays so there were no other options to eat. We had only booked a studio room without a full kitchen so didn't bring enough food for all the meals (note: bringing an esky on the ferry costs 20$ each way if you want to bring cold food). This meant we ended up paying way too much money for food that I'm sure came out of a cardboard box and was thrown into the deep fryer.

Another huge disappointment was the lack of activities available. Now anyone who has looked at their website would say I'm crazy, because they have a huge list of sports activities which are included at the resort. Don't be fooled. The pools are ok, but warm as bath water and pretty filthy. The "sports complex" looked like a town that had been abandoned after nuclear disaster. It was creepy walking around. Looked like nothing had been used for years and definitely had not been maintained at all. They don't even bother manning the reception area over there. You have to walk across the resort to the main reception counter to rent any sports equipment. We wandered around in awe, looking at the moulding lawn bowls arena and overgrown mini golf course wondering how the resort could possibly list all of these activities on their website when the facilities are clearly not useable.

Now to the last complaint... the rooms. Gross. Haven't been maintained over the last ten years and are just dirty. Like creamy stains on the sofa and blood on one of the pillow cases dirty. Ew.

Now if you've already bought your coupon deal I would recommend trying to get your money back. If you can't, then book on a weekend so you have more food options (or better yet, bring your own food) and make sure you take the 2km walk down to the surf beach. It was the only nice part of the entire trip.

I like the facilities at this place. The villa that we stayed in was a great space that comfortably accommodates 8. However thats where my positive review ends for the price we paid I'm in no hurry to go back! The villa was not equipped with anything we are charged every direction, ferry $30 each way per adult plus more money for esky more. 15% surcharge for Easter holidays. Bike hire $$$ No oven, Gas cook top 2 front ones worked. Air conditioning didn't work upstairs. Mosquito city, the fly screens torn. 3 dinner plates for up to 8 guests. 3k for 5 nights not worth it! It was a family Easter get together so because everyone was together we had a good time. Nothing to cook with fry pan is small 1 person omelette! It is set up so you just keep spending money.

I had an amazing experience staying at Couran cove over the weekend. The staff, facilities and environment are exceptional.

On arrival, I was welcomed by friendly and helpful staff with clear directions and had us checked in swiftly.

Our room was clean with a beautiful, relaxing view over the water. Great tracks to bike ride, fun swimming spots, grass areas to wind down and safe environment for children to explore.

The dinning area is open and inviting, the food was delicious and rest assured - great coffee for any of my fellow coffee snobs! A special thank you to Lachlan and Cassie for taking our group on a interesting and informative guided walk.

Couran Cove is a hidden gem that I d highly recommend for any couple, family or even solo person looking for a relaxing weekend get away from the hustle and bustle of Gold Coast life. Couldn t recommend enough!!

We have been to Couran Cove a number of times, just recently we have had to cancel our booking as they wanted to charge us extra for mouring our trailer boat. This was just not a small charge but rather excessive. This is nothing more than a cash crab from the resort and will drive away visitors. We will not be going back with these fees imposed. Previous visits we were never charged as long as we were staying there. It didn't work before and it wont work now.

Overall a good stay. Room was comfortable and clean. Kitchenette had a gas stove that didn't work well and next to no bench space. Website is slightly misleading in regards to sports centre, indoor cricket is not indoors at all. When asking for bats and balls, staff said there were none. There are about 20 kayaks and 1.5 paddles. 2 bicycles come with the room and are a necessity to get around the island and are great! Pool area is good. Segway tour is pretty cool, thank you Paul! Having never done it before we were taken care of and everything was properly explained to us! Management is very poor, a staff meeting wouldn't go astray. We were told many different things and nothing was very well organised. Never received call backs when we told we would when we asked questions. Bags weren't even weighed at ferry terminal. All the stress for nothing. Everything is too expensive ie. $5 for a can of coke! Also general store didn't have much but didn't stock up often. I would advise to pack as much food as possible as fridge is a decent size. Overall a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

The staff at the bike hire, buggy drivers and reception were very helpful. Unfortunately I had a terrible experience with the middle aged lady with rectangular shaped glasses, who was taking orders at the general store. Unfortunately I didn't get her name. But she deliberately did NOT serve me. She made wait and I was late for my buggy car ride. She pretended to pack away cakes. I was actually had my period and I wanted to buy sanitary pads from the general store. I was unable to. So I'm not happy. This happened this morning on Saturday 27th April 2019 at 10am. I think the middle age lady is not use to seeing an Asian face. I think she is racist, which makes me think, some people are intolerant of other races. That's why I wasn't served. Couldn't buy sanitary pads from anywhere else. Unfortunately had to bleed freely on such an isolated island. Please let this staff member know.

I have been been to Couran Cove 5 times now. This time being left extremely very disappointed to say the least . The quality is very poor . Very badly run down. Nothing is available to use , no virtual game room, no putt-putt, the beach access has fallen apart , beach restaurant is closed and run down broken deck etc.
The aqua Park is not pumped up to full capacity. The children's large play ground tennis court gym etc is non functional run down badly maintained . The only thing that is good for activities is the pool . The room was lovely , but in saying this when you are paying $648 for 2 nights in a 1 bedroom you would stleast expect to have shampoo conditioner toilet paper etc. There was none. The mattress was very springy and hard . Mattress on sofa beds were ripped and rust stained . The cleaner did not even nock she just came straight into our room while we were sitting in the lounge .

Reception is not beautiful how it used to be it now where the bat was. The prices are over rated and terrible. The food and beverage manager has no decorum, nor respect for his patrons ,my meal was coldhe picked up and put his finger in it to see if it was cold .our meals came out with no vegetables when they were supposed too , not to mention half of the food on the menu was not even available. sunset beach , broken chairs and umbrellas no cicktails$18 upserved in a plastic cup . Any cocktail we asked for they had no ingredients, the wine is $9 per glass and it's gossips wine . That is just unacceptable for a resort who states they are 5 star .
Every that is on there website is not how it appears .

Out of all staff they only friendly ones were 4 of them , Nick from pool bar , Leticis from restaurant bar , Larrisa at reception and the lady who signs off the bikes .

Everyone else . No words .

Couran Cove is a lovely spot with several amenities which have sadly not been looked after. There are 2 main pools with poolside bar and restaurant. The buffet breakfast is $19 and basic, but OK. Lovely long walks through the rainforest will take you to the ocean side of the island. The Surf club is now open. Lovely views.

Ferry ride over was fine, staff were friendly and attentive. Took a bike ride down to the beach, very secluded and relaxing. Food is a bit pricey but not bad for the cost. Overall a fun experience for the family, but there isn't too much to do if you don't like relaxing. Didn't take the opportunity to do any of the nature walks as it was raining but was keen to check them out.

Very disappointed. Our room was a fair walk with our baggage and our swiped didnt open our room, tried calling reception for 15 mins..walked all the way back. The 3 staff said there werent any calls through gave me a new swipe said if it didnt work come back again or call security. Had a walk around the island trying to avoid the buggies flying past us without warning! This place is very overpriced and very run down.
The next morning our fire alarm went off after the 5th time I called reception, no answer, I called security..msge bank, I recalled reception they said they knew already as an alarm goes off there, I said it would have been good practise if they'd let us know, she replied by asking what I was cooking and was I smoking...was doing neither! After waiting 15 mins to get a call to let us know all was ok I called again to find out..they told me of course all was ok..once again I said it wd be good practise if they'd let us know.
Overall the birthday holiday I'd booked for my husband would have been best as just overnight! Couldnt wait to get home!
