Great employer and car manufacturer. I am looking forward to their newest American-made vehicle. I recently test drove the all new SUV, ATLAS. Amazing quality while providing the most competitive price on the market.
Hillcrest Volkswagen in Lower Burrell has a wonderful service department. They took care of my problem and although my Jetta is a 2012, they still gave me a loaner vehicle to have while they corrected my cars problems. I will be buying all my vehicles there from now on.

Dropped my tdi jetta off on a thursday to get updates installed and a replacement def injection system. I was told to pick up my jetta on Saturday. After driving to the dealership on Saturday they said it's not ready, come back on Tuesday. On Tuesday they released my car. On the ride home a warning light came on the dash telling me to stop immediately. I opened the hood to zero water in the radiator reservoir. Walked to the store to buy water for my dry tdi. Contacted the dealership and was told to bring it in when I could. I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN THIS DEALERSHIP.
I don't have my vws maintained anywhere else. They're honest, thorough, and affordable. I used to do my own maintenance and I'm very particular. They're the only shop that I trust to work to my standards.
I've purchased 2 vehicles from them in the last 6 years. Both were great experiences. My next vehicle will be purchased here, too.
There isn't much more to say! A+ dealership.
Very disappointed in the customer service. I scheduled an appointment online on May 18th for Saturday June 6th for a state inspection. All I needed for state inspection was rear pads/rotors. Service waited until Friday June 5th at 4:00 to tell me that service was not open on Saturday. Unfortunately you lost about $400 from me. and I will be going somewhere else to have this completed.
My local VW dealer closed and Hillcrest was one of the next closest, the others did not receive good reviews. After dealing with Hilcrest for the last year on a Certified Pre-owned VW that was bought at another VW dealer, they have lived up to their prior reviews. The Service Department staff is excellent, helpful and courteous. They always return the car freshly washed and all work completed. Highly recommend them to anyone in the area looking for a VW dealer.
I have a 1983 Rabbit GTI that need new wheel bearings, its hard to find a mechanic that is willing to work on old cars, but they done the job with no questions asked and done a FANTASTIC JOB, real professional and they take care of the car like their own. Randy in Service was exceptional to deal with, I highly recommend them!!
The salesperson was quite helpful. Understood that I was working in a budget and trying to get financing for my own bank. Gave me the information I needed and I was able to test drive the vehicle. I hope I remembered to thank him.
So I was looking to trade my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee in for a while (no reason in particular- just wanted something a bit newer). I found a 2015 Ford Explorer off of CarGurus from Hillcrest VW, and decided to give them a call. The guy who answered the phone, Rider, had to be one of the nicest, most personable people I spoke to out of all the dealerships I ve ever bought from. It was super no pressure, no commitment, and he definitely did not make you feel inferior or stupid, because let s be honest a lot of people tend to do, especially when dealing with women buying a car. I told him exactly the car I was looking at and he was more than happy to assist me with any questions I had about it. Since I was trading a vehicle in, I told him exactly how much I owed and he assured me that they give top dollar for trade-ins. Granted, my Jeep was in good condition, just had over 130k miles on it. They gave me complete pay off of the vehicle, PLUS actually a little more to where it rolled over to my new vehicle. The only thing that kind of was eh about the experience was how long the paper work took to get made up, but with that being said, the guy who usually did it was on vacation, so with considering that- they did it in great time!! Would definitely go back and do business with them again, and would also recommend them to anyone looking to buy a car!
The folks at Hillcrest VW we're very patient and understanding. Ryder, Tim and Jim or equally as attentive and quick to respond to questions. Definitely a no hassle environment. Wow I didn't like the drive, the VW representative made it worth the trip.
I just bought a 2010 VW Jetta sportwagen TDI. It was a very pleasant experience after having visited Sendell in Greensburg and not having a great experience (which was mostly a result of 1 salesman, so I can't judge the whole place on that). I called Hillcrest and told them my problem and they resolved it. They gave me a great price on a new car (noone else in the area was discounting the MSRP of the TDI). They ended up giving me $300 more on my trade-in that I told them Sendell offered me. I will be back for more VW purchases for sure.
So.... Let's begin at the top! First off, my only reason for coming to this dealership was due to availability of a part. Needed a coil spring replaced for inspection. THAT WAS ALL! Literally the only other issue had was we needed a cornering bulb replaced on the passenger side, which wasn't required for inspection. (Vehicle onboard diagnostics informed me of the SINGLE bulb) All other lights worked flawlessly as the inspection was just 6 days before.
When arriving for the scheduled appointment for the coil spring, we asked for them to replace the bulb as well. They said "no problem". When they pulled the vehicle inside, we went outside and noticed the mechanic removing the TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLIES! We quickly informed him that the bulb in question was a FRONT PASSENGER CORNERING LIGHT. He mumbled something and replaced the assembly.
After waiting a reasonable amount of time, a female employee approached us and attempted to tell us that NOT ONE but BOTH cornering lights were out and they'd gladly replace them for $139! That's an astronomical price for two luxury bulbs, let alone the fact that we knew we only needed one! We politely said, "No thanks".
Fast forward to completion and there are more suprises... (eye roll)
It was now time for payment and the woman gave us a price that was obviously marked up from the agreement upon bill, and without an upfront explanation. We inquired before paying and was told that it was a 'diagnostic charge' for running their diagnostics tools on the vehicle for SINGLE bulb that they DID NOT replace! We called her out on it and she rudely stated, "Fine, I'll remove it but it should have been $100 and I was only charging you $50!" We declined to respond and waited quietly until the correction was made and payment was rendered.
Upon starting the vehicle, we were greeted with a new diagnostic message that now both lights were out! Funny how we pulled in with only one out tho, right? Next, we went over the bill and service paperwork and noticed it said that our REAR TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY was listed as broken! Guess what? It wasn't that way when it entered! Furthermore, it was not mentioned at all! And the mechanic was seen taking it apart when he had no business touching it!
Needless to say but, we are very unhappy with the poor service and shady tactics being used by this business and will not be going there ever again!
Bought a Sentra 2012 for 9000 on October 3rd brought it in today and said had a clicking sound when I turned left they said it was a loose ball joint and it was not covered and I had to pay 250 to get fixed since it was 99 days after purchase I really think they should have covered it since I only put a little over 2000 miles on the car. I do say sales team was great but I really think they should have covered it. I would not recommend anyone to buy a use car from this dealership since they don't honor or value the customer. I was going to purchase a Jetta next year but now I think I will go to somewhere else instead.i can't believe that they would do this to a disabled veteran So please don't buy a use car there.
Love this dealership! Sales department is no pressure, service is fast and very helpful.. They'll happily lend you a car to go into town if you're waiting, or give you a loaner if it's going to be longer..
My wife and I purchased a pre-owned 2015 BMW X3 from Hillcrest VW. Broderick took good care of us. We negotiated the price over the phone in just a few moments. He even brought the car to us in Arlington, VA! Everything was as promised with no nonsense.
Liars and shady!
After corresponding over the phone with the sales manager and a salesperson named nino and asking about a pre-owned escapes condition we were blatantly lied to. I specifically asked both of them is there any rust on the vehicle, on the wheel wells, the undercarriage, or the back hatch? He replaced Absolutely not we repaired everything we then make a $500 deposit just to have it held until we can drive 3hours to see it the next day. After nino texting asking for photos of the drivers license and insurance over the phone this was a RED FLAG. We get to the dealership after a 3 hour drive and not even out of the vehicle we notice a huge scratch on the side door that was not specified In the pictures. They were hidden. Automatically walk up to it, rust EVERYWHERE, rotors, bolts corroded, undercarriage completely covered, shocks, the HATCH I specifically asked about had rust all over it. The engine and all rusted parts were plasti dipped and it was peeling. The only response from the salesperson was I can give you your money back then. After looking for a car after ours was wrecked due to no fault of our own we were hoping that we d find a honest person to deal with. No apology, not to mention I wasn t reimbursed for the gas to drive all the way over there not even for 5 minutes. We are beyond frustrated and will be contacting VW.
This store is what shopping for a car should be. Small family owned and ready to help you in any way that they can. I could have gotten the same car at another dealer for the same price, however the service is second to none at Hillcrest. If you are looking to purchase a car and want to know that the dealer will be there for you. Then look no futher than Hillcrest. Thank you to Bob and all the guys for their help. Looking forward to my many years with my new VW!!!
Very knowledge staff only place I call for anything vw
This dealership service is great. Pittsburgh has 5 or 6 of VW dealerships stores. I think this Hillcrest vw is the best one. I had a great experience !!!
Came to test drive and possibly buy a car. Rider was very attentive, answered all our questions, and was extremely pleasant to work with. Although they didn't have the exact model we wanted, I will continue to recommend this dealership, and will give them my business when I can!
Very helpful and accomodating... dealer prices though
Best no pressure sales guys around. Small place with great service.
Just got an '11 GTI. Everything I could of asked for. Everyone was extremely helpful and knowledgable. I would definitely recommend this place! Great service.
Excellent service to my auto fast and through
Prices went up and they were very far behind in service department.
The amount of frustration I feel with this service department is unmeasurable. When my car has needed service every six months (on average) due to recalls or issues with the car, I do think that it s the dealership/service department that need to bend over backwards for the customer. For person that works having a service department only open until 5 and no loaner cars available, is unacceptable. I should not have to take a day off of work because your product is unreliable. Not only will I not be bringing my vehicle here to be fixed, but after this vehicle, I will no longer own a Volkswagen.
Tim is the BEST. See him, you will not be disappointed
Had oil changed there less than two thousand miles later oil is black as coal and a quart low I don't even think they changed my oil...
Service is terrible! Drop your vehicle off the night before for an 8AM appointment the following day. Vehicle only needs state inspection and oil change and only has a mileage of 4100 miles. Should be an hour tops. At noon I call to see if my car is done and they haven't even pulled it in the garage! So much for making an appointment ! I will take my vehicle to a different dealership for service in the future.
The sales guys are terrific! They are courteous, friendly and helpful. It's always been a pleasure dealing with Hillcrest VW, this is our 3rd vehicle. They go above and beyond to make sure you're happy and knowledgeable with your car.
Always accommodating in every way possible, and very pleasant to work with! This is NOT your typical dealership for sales or service - every team member makes you feel valued at all times.
Great Dealership! Honest People fair with trades and service. If you need work done they get it done fast and right the first time.
Very confused place to be nobody knows what's going on
My wife has had Volkswagen convertibles for over 20 years and this is the only place I trust.
Hillcrest VW is super helpful. I lost my radio code. The dealership I bought my car from insisted I needed to bring the car in and have the "Master Technician" enter the code -- even though I had the auto VIN and serial number of my radio. That would have cost me $60 and half a vacation day. Hillcrest gave me the code over the phone. Hillcrest also advised me about Tier 1 gasoline and occasionally using a fuel cleaner, which I have noticed makes a big difference. Thanks Hillcrest!
Been going to Hillcrest for 14 years no matter where I lived in the SW PA area. I currently drive 65 minutes to get my VW maintained by the service department...their THAT good. If integrity and honesty is not words you'd use to describe your current automobile dealership, make the change to Hillcrest.
Unbelievable customer service and very reasonably priced used cars. From sales to financing, our experience was excellent. The finance manager (Tim) went above and beyond to help us. Highly recommended!
North hills Volkswagen made a mistake causing me a headache and this dealer was nice enough to cover their mistake. Pleasure to do business with you.
Hillcrest VW is the place to go. From the moment we stepped on to the lot, we were treated with respect from every employee that approached us. Tim had made our time there very enjoyable. The way they treat their customers is absolutely amazing. They are very thorough with explaining everything. The entire stores customers service is unbelievable. I will always recommended Hillcrest!
Excellent customer service. Always reliable, fast!! Washed my car after svc today!
Parts department really will go the extra mile to assist you. The guy even called Audi for me and found what I needed.
I got a mini cooper countryman from them 6 months ago their insurance on the car if the parts go is a joke I've had my car in the shop 45 times since this place is I joke for a dealership I would never deal with them ever again they are a snake in the grass and now I have to buy a turbo outta my own pocket cause they refused to cover the turbo but was under the warranty I got
I've had positive experiences both with the purchase and service of my vehicle from Hillcrest. I purchased a prior customer trade from Hillcrest, several years ago, and my partner purchased a new Volkswagen product four years ago. Hillcrest was, at that time, the only Volkswagen dealer we could find who would allow us to spec out and order a vehicle with the features we wanted. Other dealers expected us to select from inventory that they or other dealers in network had.
After more than one less than satisfactory experience with our local dealer's service department, we've started bringing the non-VW trade in to Hillcrest for service as well. This is a substantial endorsement, as Hillcrest is a 1.5 hour round trip from my home, and not a trip that I would make for an oil change and state inspection if I could very easily avoid it. The quality of the work and customer service have been very good, and I hope that Hillcrest VW continues to do business in this fashion for as long as I am buying cars and trying to keep them on the road.
Buying experience here was great, however, after a recent service experience I will never do business with them again. I had some strut mounts replaced under warranty only to drive off the lot with another set of problems, none of which existed prior to their install of the new parts. I gave them a chance to correct the issue and was assured by the service manager, Mike, that they d gone over everything with a fine tooth comb and that there was much improvement only to drive off the lot a second time with the same set of problems. Upon contacting them a third time, the service manager began getting defensive and more or less berating me over the phone stating it s just a noise it s not dangerous or anything and that it was magically a tire issue that I needed four new tires and a new rim to correct. What a joke. Anyway, long story short, I took it to a larger dealership who diagnosed the issue in less than 30 minutes. Not only had Hillcrest installed the part incorrectly, but one of the components was damaged (something they would have known had they taken the time to properly inspect the strut assembly rather than just replacing some links that I didn t need in the first place). Nothing was wrong with my tires, I didn t need a new rim and thanks to the larger dealership my car is as good as new.
Eric and Broderick, thank you so much for helping the 3 sisters who's cell phone got stuck in the middle console! You guys were great. Such extraordinary service!! -Sherry, Kim, and Linda
The salesmen, parts, & service staff are all excellent. I love the Volkswagen lineup & highly recommend this location.
Good service but was too buzzy when I came for tire service.
Randy and the service team went the extra mile to get me back on the road.
Honestly great. Give free advice over the phone. And on site built me a new wire harness plug I needed in minutes and only charged 9 bucks. Really the best dealer around. Never thought I'd be leaving a positive comment about a dealer
Had a great experience with Hillcrest garage. I went there originally to have the diesel modification done on my TDI. I had gone to another local dealership and they were very rude and unaccomodating to my needs. At Hillcrest I was treated with nothing but extreme kindness. I believe the person I dealt with was Mike. Not only did he immediately schedule for me for the work that needed done, he made me aware of another issue on the car and promptly had me set up with a loaner vehicle while the work was completed. This is a place that I would definitely recommend to anyone with a vw needing work. I am confident that my future experiences with them will be just as smooth.
The staff there was very friendly and very helpful great place to go car shopping
