Cottage to Castle performed my inspection and missed mould and water damage. The mould was quite visible. The smell was apparent, and the water damage to the floors, walls and kitchen cabinets was visible without having to move anything. This leaves me with a bill of about $25,000 for mould remediation and restoration. Very disappointing. I contacted CTC and they tell me they are not responsible.
These people did a very thorough inspection of the property and the report was easy to understand. We probably saved a lot of money by not purchasing the property.

The inspection discovered that the oil-storage tank was too old and would have resulted in the property not being insurable. The seller's realtor had stated that the tank was new! Because of the thorough and very professional inspection we were able to get the seller to install a new tank (at their ;expense). Thank you for an extremely timely inspection!
We hired Doug in 2016, we were very pleased. He did a thorough job and documented well. That documentation included images, which we found helpful later. Gave good observations, and provided follow up info when asked.

We had pre-purchase inspection completed on log home we're interested in. The inspection comprised of the logs, traditional home inspection, wett certification on two wood stoves & a water test. The report was very thorough & very detailed. We received the report via email and it was followed up with a video conference to discuss the findings with the inspector. It is a bit scary, buying an older home. I had heard horror stories in the past, about home inspectors showing up and spending only a few minutes looking at the place.
