Like an idiot I began remodeling my house before I had a mortgage. Once the bathroom was ripped out I couldn't get one. I met Dan by chance when he stopped to admire my 1952 Dodge Powerwagon parked on the street and to tell me that he had one too. We talked trucks for an hour before I inquired what he did. He responded humbly, "Oh, I'm just a local mortgage broker." From that moment on all my problems disappearred. Dan secured me a great mortgage at low interest, and a line of credit. This is my second time working with Dan. In each case the numbers I got from him were better than his competitors. Over time I ve saved quite a bit of money.
In each instance I spoke with other people just to cover my bases. In my recent ReFi I got pretty far along with another company who s representative seemed knowledgeable, but there was a big problem. On top of not being quite as good on the money aspect of things her company policy would not allow time for my attorney to review the 256-page loan doc prior to signing. She said the 3-day right of rescission period would have to suffice for review. That was a big red flag.
Dan said an attorney review would be no problem and he delivered without making me feel I was asking for something out of bounds. He and his assistant Robin worked hard. When the appraiser would not crawl under my house to photograph the crawl space (a req of FHA loan appraisals) Robin spent all morning calling contractors to do a quick visit due to a time constraint. When the appraisal came in low Dan helped me challenge the low figure and it was raised.
Dan was there for me at each step. He really helped and I appreciate it.
