Stayed weekend before valentines. Arrived late but was pleased with reception and staff. Our room had a view of the lake but didn t get to see or enjoy until the next morning. The ambiance was great by the bar area. It wasn t too lit. And the decor was nothing I ve never seen. I didn t take pictures because I didn t want to be on my phone too much. Made use of the pool the Sunday night. It was quiet and pleasent. I m glad my boyfriend chose the wrong hotel. I have him 2 options and told him I wanted the other one. He booked this instead
Room was clean and big. I don t have any complaints about the bathroom. And the heating worked. I am always cold so heating is a thing for me. I would come back and recommend.

We are currently staying in the hotel. Reception gave us a room that was not meant to be for us (in the welcome card there was a wrong name).

The room is tiny, not very clean, the curtain of the bathtub is not ironed, the design is really poor, the room is small, we have a good view of the lake from the balcony, however as soon as u go out into the balcony there s a table with 2 chairs which was covered in bird dirt and chairs with spider web.

For dinner we had 2 onion soup - it was inedible, my partner had beef bourgiunuon. I had prawn linguini - Well Ok - over cooked pasta, two tired prawns and a flavour that if it had ever existed -decided to evaporate very quickly.

Anyway you get the idea. Word to the wise. Don t touch the French onion soup. Will leave the surprise to those who need to prove things for themselves.

Enjoy the rancid cheese, lumps of bread and au revoir...

Very spacious and cosy downstairs, we visited with three couples so was a bit of discussion as two of the rooms could of been bigger but the master room looking over the lake was very glamorous. Hot Tub was great and we were visited by the Swans each morning, feed is provided under the stairs.

Great weekend away.

We booked a 3 night stay and specified a ground floor dog friendly room. We confirmed this via email directly with De Vere. On arrival we were told we had a room on the first floor - when we informed staff of our booking - and showed the confirmation from their reservations team - the reply was a patronising Yeh - you ll be alright. It ll be fine When we refused this room she was not helpful and we asked to talk to someone else. The duty manager asked us to describe our experience so far He agreed it hadn t been a great customer experience and offered us a 2 bed ground floor dog friendly apartment which we gladly accepted. Unfortunately the fridge didn t work (we were self catering so had brought food) and the main bedroom smelt incredibly musty - so we had to stay in the other bedroom. We stayed one night and came home. Very disappointed.

I make a trip to stay here annually with my wife. Before and after it became a De vere hotel. The hotel is lovely with a great refurbishment taken place in the main lobby in the last couple years. The hotel has everything you need for a short stay and is secluded from any road side noise. The only think you will probably hear is the wildlife outside near the lake.

The rooms are modern, clean and spacious with some offering a lovely view of the lake. The restaurant offers a lovely breakfast buffet serving both hot food and a selection of cereals, pastries etc. Can't fault it.

The dinner is also nice with a great selection of alcoholic drinks and food. One thing to be wary of is the buffet dinner on a Saturday, however usually this is in the text when you book. There are a selection of activities or things to do a short drive a way and the reception staff are always happy to help.

The spa and pool facilities are also great, I've had a few treatments here and can say you come out feeling relaxed and refreshed. Highly recommend this hotel, if you do have issue they are always prompt to resolve them for you.

Asked for the twin room to be made into one big bed - got assurances that this would be done and it wasn t.

We got to the hotel late. We were tired. The last thing we wanted to deal with, was being on hold for ten minutes trying to get through to reception. When I finally spoke to someone, he was rude and abrasive. Had to call reception again to find out if someone was going to sort out the bed. Someone did arrive - but he was given the wrong instructions so he didn t have the right bedding and had to go away and come back again.

The rooms are dated and not very clean. Marks and stains on the carpet. Hair around the room and bathroom. The water was also slow to down the plug hole in the sink.

Breakfast was absolute bedlam. No sliced bread to toast. Food was running low across all the areas. And what griped me the most - wet plates. The hotel staff were bringing out wet plates from the kitchen for people to use. It was chaos.

I complained on checking out and got an email offering 25% discount, complimentary upgrade to a superior room and use of the spa facilities. - which I have declined.

I ve stayed in other De Vere Hotels and this is by far, the worst one. It was so disappointing.

One of the best hotel getaway weekends I ve ever had. Loads to do in the immediate/ surrounding area. The hotel itself isn t the romantic sort, it s more practical but the services are brilliant as are the staff. Plus the
WiFi is also excellent.

Room was spacious, bland but good furnishings, and room and bathroom were spotless. There was very good lighting - so many hotels keep you in the gloom, but here there were loads of lamps. There was a kettle to make drinks, and extra pillows in the room. I even enjoyed the little notice offering to come and catch a spider if there was one. So far, so good!

There were a lot of sockets for re-charging, but some were inconveniently placed - could have done with more at desk height. The room was very cold when I entered, but once I turned on the radiator it soon warmed up.

The wifi wasn't very reliable, dropped off from time to time, but it was usable and didn't cause anything more than a mild annoyance.

So fine. . A few niggles, however.

The bath towel, of good quality and generous size, was grey-tinged not white. Take my word for it - the laundry had dropped something dark into the wash and towels got greyed.

There was an iron and ironing board in the room - just. It was sited so near the door that you nearly hit it when you came in. Take care opening the door or you'll bash your nose!

But I'm afraid that my biggest moan is the unhygienic practice of having no tablecloths in the dining room, with the cutlery therefore placed directly on the tables.

Tablecloths are used for the purpose of promoting hygiene. Tablecloth-less tables should have the cutlery protected by being wrapped in napkins, as is the practice in most bars.

And when I went into the Brasserie at the Cotswold Water Park Four Pillars Hotel, there were no tablecloths. A great saving on laundry, but not acceptable to me.

I therefore ate in the bar with very similar food on offer, and the cutlery neatly - and hygienically - presented wrapped in a napkin.

A large but nice hotel. Plenty of space with little coffee and seating areas all over the place. Room was large and clean, just be warned that evening meals are sometimes in the Boathouse and if the weather is poor you'll need a coat as it's a couple of minutes on foot across the car park.

Quite possibly one of the worst experiences i've had in a hotel. The room we originally booked was taken off us because the hotel determined someone else needed it more. We were told we would get a "same spec" room free as way of apology... however the room given to us was anything but. We were put in a room with disabled facilities only. Not only that, instead of a large bed we had 2 singles thrown together. The room was next to the main toilets for the bar which meant that every time a tap was run, you would hear the water in the pipes. To top it off, the window was also right next to the main walkway from the bar to the garden, so it was constantly noisy. The experience was that bad we checked out at 11pm and drove home. Absolutely disgusted with the whole experience.

I want to give a 0 star rating but it appears this isn't possible.

Stayed for 1 night 25.8.18. Very happy with the apartment, however the evening meal menu had limited choice, and did not represt value for money.Staters and sweets particularly overpriced. As were the drinks.Staff were good , but with 3 waitress all asking "is every thing ok with your meal" after each course, showed a lack of communication between them. Lots of empty glasses seen on most outside benches well into the evening again shows a lack of attention to detail.
Breakfast was ok,but one toaster that didn't toast was a problem.Luckily we got breakfast early and avoided the long que. Yes I would stay again but would not use the restaurant. Better options on choice and value in Cirencester.

I am giving this hotel two stars not because it is a bad hotel but it just didn t meet my expectations and I was left disappointed. We booked a family room and paid extra for a balcony so expected a lake view. I did not realise this would not be the case and instead had a lovely view of our car in the car park. Had we known we would not have booked this rather expensive hotel to be left with a feeling that we spent a few days in a travel lodge( nothing wrong with them just not what was expected). When booking it was not clear that this room wouldn t have a lake view. We also found at breakfast we were not seated near the lake, the grassy area at the front of the hotel was not practical for us as there is no barrier so not safe for our one year old and the paths around the lake are gravel so not good for a pram. The decking areas were not continuous and in front of people s rooms so didn t feel accessible either. Basically it wasn t the holiday I was after so think should be more clarity on the website.

Saying all of this the room(three rooms actually) were big and comfortable.

I have to say that the response from Mark Mcknight below is not satisfactory. No apology even. Perhaps I didn't state it strongly enough that we could have stayed somewhere that overlooked the lakes for a much more reasonable price. I feel that we were mislead when booking and it actually ruined our stay. Hence 2/5 stars.

Our room at the hotel was excellent, it was spacious and comfortable with lovely views over the lake. The service in the hotel was mixed. We were attending a work social event with around 250 guests that included a site down meal. The plates were brought out and cleared very efficiently and the food was tasty and hot. The problems we experienced were at the bar because one of the managers had accidentally deleted half of the drinks from the system so the staff had to guess prices based on other drinks. We kept getting charged different prices for the same drink so it took a bit of sorting out at reception the following morning. Most people were charging drinks to their rooms, including us, and we found we were charged for some things that we hadn't ordered. The hotel reception were very helpful and removed them for us but it took a while. We would come to the hotel again as I think our experiences were a one off due to the problems with the till system.

Staying in a hotel during a Covid-19 pandemic is a challenge for us all. At the De Vere Cotswolds Water Park, they seem to have thought of everything. Throughout each day, the whole team work hard to ensure everyone is safe.
Every staff member that we came into contact with would grab your attention to ask if you needed anything and if everything is okay. They are all dressed smartly in their uniforms, full of energy with a continuous smile. The food the drink, everything was great. Its so important to remember that the staff at this and all hotels are human too and they are also suffering Covid-19. They are trying their best to work around our new world of masks, 2 meter rules, hand sanitising etc. Hats off to the whole team and thank you for a great weekend.

Nice location. Now the bad: stayed in a 'deluxe' and room with balcony and lake view. The rooms are far too warm, even when it's only 21/23 outside. There's a fan blowing warm air about but that's it. The rooms are a decent size but there's only a double bed, maybe it's me but can't remember the last time I stayed in a double bed at hotel, let alone spa. Beware the spa if you're an overnight guest, you'll have to pay before 5pm to get in. We didn't eat here in the evening, breakfast was ok however the sausages were some of the cheapest/fatiest ever and eggs covered in oil.
In summary, probably wouldn't stay again.

Lovely location and deco was good only I would not say it's a 4 star hotel as the rooms don't have any air conditioning alright for one night or 2 and good for kids and adults that like water activities .

Oversold and under delivers.....but pretty location.

The room was ready for refurbishing, the walls being marked and the carpet stained.

The breakfast buffet was not being maintained having run short of almost everything. Trying to get a coffee was like getting an audience with the Pope. I succeded on the 3rd attempt but regretted it .....it was awful!

The support for the conference I was attending was good as was the finger food.

We stayed here last night (27.07.19), thankfully for just the one night. First the positive: I have awarded two stars, simply because of the lovely location. The setting on the lake is beautiful, but unfortunately for us, that s where the positive experience ends.

We booked this stay some five months in advance, yet somehow ended up in what (I hope) must be the worst room on the complex. We were placed in a corridor amongst a wedding party, in a room overlooking the laundry area. The room itself was not overly clean and was in poor repair, far from 4 star. The bath did not hold water and so we could not take a bath after a long drive from Merseyside. The hotel did send maintenance, that arrived two minutes before we left for dinner reservations. Not much use to us.

On to the sleep, or lack of it. At approximately 2:25am, I was disturbed by three other guests, who were trying to steal a golf like buggy right under our window. Three very drunk ladies, very classy. Eventually, they ran off screaming in to the night, but further fun and disturbance followed. In total, I may have managed three hours sleep.

In summary, a fairly terrible experience. A shoddy room, a night club style clientele and customer service staff who are more interested in keeping you quiet than helping. Whom ever awarded this place four stars, must have had an off day at work. I could have added further photos, such as the extractor fan half hanging out of the wall, or the dirty toilet, but I m sure everyone already gets the picture.

Food was the only good point. Bed was ok. Room not up to standard, black mould in bathroom, stains all over the carpet, marks on every wall, not cleaned very well, bath old and stained, hall ways had carpet stains. Offered a discount on checking out without hesitation suggesting to me they get a lot of complaints. Unless said discount is a free stay with dinner it will be ignored. Very seedy feel to the room didn't feel clean or comfortable. Breakfast was terrible!

If that gets 4 stars then the last premier inn I stayed in should of been a 6 star. Very disappointed and not worth the discounted price of 190 pounds for one night, deluxe room lake view. Given dinner would of had cost 36 quid if it wasn't included

Parents stayed and they love it. But please teach the bar staff how to make a latte! There shouldn't be coffee granules in it and it would be nicer if it was hot. And that was after I sent the first one back that had granules all over the glass and in the coffee!

Lovely clean Hotel with friendly staff. We went for the soul weekend which was unfortunately shockingly bad. It was very disjointed. Downstairs northern soul most of the time, but the two upstairs rooms were strange to say the least. Richie Cole Jazz band in the evening, not my sort of thing. Not much modern soul playing at all. Not sure if it improved after that because I left about 10 pretty disappointed.

Some confusion upon arrival after I booked and paid on the phone with a voucher gifted by family. But otherwise the surrounding town is lovely, staff were very friendly and covid measures were obviously adhered to very carefully. Food was lovely and great vegan options. Spa 6 was definitely the highlight- a very very relaxing and luxurious weekend stay

Beautiful location, we visited to attend a friends wedding party. Our room was immaculate and had views of the pond.
We ordered room service for lunch/dinner and the food was delicious, freshly made very yummy!
The only thing that was disappointing was we weren t able to use the spa as it wasn t part of our package (obviously we weren t to know as we were part of the wedding) and if we did we d have to pay, so we didn t bother.
Other than that we would definitely stay again.

Visited for only the second time since it was built. Good points:
Excellent rooms
Great staff in the brasserie
Good Dinner B&B deal
Good starting point for the walks.
Not so good:
Having to eat in the boat house one night. Draughty and dark and they had run out of lots of menu options.
The place is overrun with corporate conferences in the week
If you going to the expense of putting Alexa in each room lets have them working!
