Lovely hotel. Great customer service. Good food, wide wine selection
If you don't have a water facing room the views aren't great.
Rooms are spotlessly clean, couldn't fault them, beds very comfy. Service is always brilliant, and food has been really nice too, and reasonably priced. Location good with a beautiful view of the lake.
Its a fantastic place to stay and travel.
The town is very pretty and tidy.
Very comfortable and welcoming. Gorgeous location and walks. Food good. Dog friendly self catering although there is also a hotel here with conference, wedding and spa facilities. Great venue. Thank you for making us so welcome, enjoyed my stay immensely. Love the nearby Cotswold stone villages and towns.
Stunning hotel, fantastic food, scenic location. We were lucky enough to have a refurbished room (shown in the pictures), you can get a public foot path map from the cafe next door. Superb scenery.
Beautiful views from the room. Staff were lovely. Big party on but didn't affect us at all. Spa was beautiful and treatments were very good! Would definitely go again!
Lovely place to stay, one downside i found was how allergy unfriendly the breakfast buffet was. As dairy and gluten free person I could hardly find anything to eat paying the full price for the buffet.
Disappointed, lovley view of the lake but the food and facilities were not so good , breakfast in a brown paper bag and you had to gi and collect your breakfast bap which tasted like something you would get at a service station .
Visited over the weekend and although the hotel looked very nice and modern from the outside, i was very dissapointed with the room. It was very outdated and tired. There were staines on the carpet and general cleanliness was not up to scratch and can be greatly improved.
Extractor fan in bathroom not working. Breakfast chaotic. Warm and not hot water in which to make your own tea. Ran out of several items of food at breakfast even though two hours left. No 'flow' to the self service in dining room with guests wondering about with lost expressions on their faces!
This is a beautiful hotel. It is located near so many facilities and sites too. The amenities in the hotel itself are great.
The room was lovely and clean and comfortable.
The staff were friendly and efficient and you could not fault the service.
We had our evening meal here as well as our breakfast. We enjoyed the food and service on both occasions.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Food was poor for the amount paid, drinks were reasonable and the rooms where of high quality.
Such a beautiful picturesque place. The staff were so polite and helpful. Definitely we will be visiting De Vere Cotswolds once all this is over. Thank you CLC. X
Everything was amazing apart from the housekeeping knocking on the door and walking in 3 times from 7.30 am onwards.
Great hotel, little disappointed with the reception staff. Facilities are great.
Only reason did not get full stars was the wait at dinner
Discovered De Vere Hotels this year, there great
What a lovely location, staff very good, great value.
I'd love to live permanently in the apartment I stayed in - a gem of a place.
Far too noisy for the price paid, young children running around like its a play school. Bar staff very poor, rude and seemed like they would rather be working somewhere else. Would not return to this hotel.
Disappointing. Do check before booking that they aren't hosting a seminar. We were swamped by 350 delegates. No room in the lounge in the evenings; breakfast a nightmare so we waited til 9am when they went. Our key card failed every day More
Enjoyable stay
In reception we were very welcome by friendly Aurora.
The bedroom was spacious and really clean, serviced by Angela ,bathroom with great bio toiletries.
Lake view from our windows absolutely amazing.
We had dinner in nice decorated The Old Boathouse- food was delicious .
Sonny ,thank you for wine recommendation .
That was an excellent stay !
terrible room, stains all over the carpet. not happy with the standards of the hotel and the breakfast was not the best, very disappointed !!!!
Really friendly staff. Very child friendly. Lovely atmosphere. Great value for money!
Fabulous service, loved the newly refurbished room we stayed in. Tranquil and a pleasure to visit. Recommend the Boat house for dinner if you are there for rlaxed dining
I use the leisure centre at this hotel almost every day. The staff at the reception are lovely, and are very welcoming. The pool is warm, but not verry deep. The right height if you would rather stand than tred water. The changing rooms are clean, however locker availability seems to be a bit of a problem some times. The sauna is great and it is quite large. The steam room however is unlit all bar some color changing star lights, meaning it is easy to sit on somone if you aren't careful. There are also heat beds and a therapeutic shower. The bar serves good drinks and snacks however it is expensive so bear that in mind.
Beautiful hotel set on the lake - really good value for money, clean spacious rooms etc!
The staff made you very welcome. It was a birthday celebration and even although I had not arranged anything they delivered a plate of petite fours with happy birthday on it. Fab.
Explore the footpaths around the lakes and enjoy some stunning views.
So a mixed experience of the De Vere Cotswold Waterpark. Tbh the hotel staff were polite and room was lovely, unfortunately a somewhat corporately trained rather than a genuine feel of care. Nonetheless well organised, clean and lovely room. However the Brasserie... sad to say this was an awful experience (again the management got the idea and didn t charge us so I can t fault the care after the fact here). All in nice location, pleasant enough, but I definitely advise eat somewhere else.
Arrived today to be told that all restaurants are fully booked. Who builds a hotel that cannot cater for all its guests? Stayed in many global hotels it's a first!
Everything else is good, but a weekend spoilt...
Nice rooms, lovely location and very helpful staff. The room was very hot with little air flow and the spa is not the best. The pool was quite cold and the spa is small for the size of the hotel
Very clean, staff lovely, extremely relaxing
Amazing day!!! Great spa!!!
Disappointed, had a spa day with my sister. No candles or relaxing music, Lunch and dessert were horrible, they didn't offer any drinks to us????
Didn't give us information that we have to wait half an hour for each other to get dry flotation treatment.
A bit disappointed with the whole experience. Didnt worth the money.
Very large hotel, very pleasant and great staff. Lovely grounds and lakes
The grounds are very picturesque. The food and drinks were of a high standard. The room was not very well maintained or presented, would not stay at this hotel again.
Beautiful venue can't wait to book a stay here for leisure.
Amazing stay. Spectacular views and modern building. Will come back.
Great location, rooms large, modern and well presented.
As good as you will get at the price point.
Food is average in the bar.
We were not allowed to use the EV Charging Station - not sure why.....We were happy to pay for the service and use our own cables etc. Also the unit was available when we arrived and parked next to it - typical the computer says NO response from reception - I totally understand the COVID 19 pandemic has caused disruption and confusion throughout the world but not being able to use a device outside with your own cable and no human interaction seems odd to me
Excellent hotel, rooms are really nice and beds are so comfy
Good for short break. Staff very helpful
Room was a bit tired but great views of the lake.
An interesting place which sprawls over quite a large area and is a good place from which to engage in water sports or explore the Cotswolds.
Views overlooking the lake from the rooms and restaurants can't be faulted. Bathroom was a bit dated.
I stayed here for work and it was handy for the spa/pool (even though it had been chlorinated to death) but I would rate the other local hotels I have stayed at much higher. The restaurant and bar were fully booked and so I had no choice but to opt for an overpriced bland sandwich on room service for dinner. At breakfast, it took far too long for them to acknowledge me and then allow me to sit anywhere (despite several empty tables) and by the time the server brought round any tea/coffee I was done and ready to leave (why can't I sit myself down and why can't I make my own tea?)
They are so ridiculously busy that service is appallingly slow both at reception, in the gym and in the restaurants for breakfast and dinner. Whilst there are plenty of parking spaces, finding one that is available is another thing.
Comfy bed slept well. Breakfast quality was variable. Gym modern with good equipment. Rubbish rule regarding the spa where you can only use up until 0930 then cant use again until 1700 not made aware on the website prior to booking. Free applause club drink only available if you put a card on the account not made aware of that at check in.
Large, modern and impersonal. Our Dinner Party was very good. Excellent food, very well served.
Feels like a mini resort. Good service, staff were nice. They really accommodate our request for a quiet room. Rooms were excellent. The pillows were the best I've had in any hotel so far, not super thin like in most hotels, not too firm either. It really makes a difference. Best sleep ever. Quiet location. Free parking. Breakfast buffet was great, dinner was also really good. Restaurant overlooking lake, really pretty. Dog friendly, allow dogs inside too.
Cons: A LOT of flies everywhere, probably because of the lake nearby (mini swamp). The shower head is not removable, built-in stuck to the wall and water pressure was super low, almost dribbling on it's most powerful setting, not able to take a shower properly.
Great hotel and fantastic spa. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is very tasty and well done. The only downside was the service in the brasserie for an evening meal. It was quite awful and slow. The staff were friendly but obviously overworked or understaffed.
Took my mother for afternoon tea for her 92nd birthday on 7 January, 2019. It was extremely disappointing.
The sandwiches and cakes were very unappetizing. Sandwich were big (not finger sandwiches) Fillings were awful. Thick cheese, cheap ham, cucumber, and like shredded smoked trout, on its own in white bread. Cakes were not homemade. The only positive, the scones were okay.
It was served up on thick dark blue plates, not pretty bone china like afternoon tea in other venues. I said to the waiter that the sandwich fillings were disappointing and he said "That's your opinion". Then we waited ages to pay bill so I went to hand it to a waiter and a Manager was with him. The manager just took it out of my hand and walked off. No "thank you" or any comment at all. Wish I had complained at the time but didn't want to spoil my mothers birthday. Will not be going back to this place and will definitely not recommend it. A very disappointing day for my mother. Doesn't even deserve 1 star.
Noise from dual carriageway and too many dog walkers
Very nice hotel service in a superb setting. Nice bar and good quality restaurant.
Beautiful location and good service. Rooms were clean but pretty worn and tired looking.
Room was nice bed uncomfortable for our backs- we are used to memory foam. Food in the brasserie was poor quality we are not complainers but had to have a discussion and had the cost of the drinks refunded which was reasonable
I visited a lot around the world BUT this is the best for a week away
Found this hotel to be very hospitable, child friendly and all round good service. Swimming pool is warm, specific times that hotel guests with children can use but includes evenings.
Absolutely lovely, stopped here a few time now and would recommend to anyone. Nothing is too much trouble and staff are very attentive without being overbearing.
Lovely hotel and great for the value. Would stay again
Lovely place. Girlfrend took me for my birthday we forgot to pick up speaker and they had held it for me to pick up after thinking we had lost it.
Corporate hotel in a beautiful area. Clean room. Can't ask for more on a business trip
The view from our bedroom was perfect, absolutely gorgeous! If you go make sure to get a lake view room! The staff were all really friendly. The area the hotel is in is beautiful, and we'll worth a wander around. My only gripes is that More
Grounds, river and lakes are nice, did not go in the hotel
Recently stayed here for 2 days. The staff where great nothing too much trouble. The breakfast was plentiful the evening meal was fantastic. Would really recommend this hotel. In fact I intend to visit with my family so I can explore the Cotswolds.
The self catered apartments look great from the outside and are spacious. 50/50 chance of facing lakefront or car park is a real gamble. The apartment is well appointed but everything is low end, especially the stained carpets.
Huge complex with hundreds of rooms and suites. Many meeting rooms and conference facilities including ample space for dinning as well. Very clean and tidy with attentive staff albeit slightly impersonal due to the sheer size of the place. Certainly ticks all the boxes as a conference centre or place to gather over night. And set in a water park with wonderful views.
