i have had coolray for a number of years and they are always professional and when its time for a checkup, i don't have to call, they remind me. i highly recommend them if you need a/c or heating, repair or maintenance.

Everything was good. Excellent even. But the price!! I just can't understand why changing out a faucet cartridge must cost over $300. That's more than I paid my surgeon for spinal decompression! Nice manners.
Very easy process and a discount for requesting an appointment online! Reasonable rates that were explained up front. Repairman very professional and he showed me everything he was doing so I could clean the drains myself. After 3 days there was water again in the drip pan. We called and they allowed us to speak with our repairman. What I was slightly disappointed with was they were going to charge us another $79 just to come back out...
As to Mr. Plumber directly - they and Coolray have always had absolutely fantastic service. Quick and reliable. Regardless of the problem or the day. My specific experience on 12/24 was decidedly mixed. We woke up Christmas Eve morning to sewer gas throughout the house and an insane amount of noise coming from our sump pump. It sounded like there was a waterfall in the walls. No actual water though - yet. The greatest piece of this experience was the speed and care Mr. Plumber showed - they had someone out in under an hour, on Christmas Eve!
Lloyd was our plumber and he spent some time attempting to figure out the issue. He advised we needed a new sump pump because ours was original and pretty much dead. But that wasn't the issue - it was a cross connection in the pipes where during recent renovations someone had mixed up the vent and drain pipes.
OK, no problem I thought, we have a wonderful GC (Taber Residential) who will totally take care of it.
Pump was shut off and we were without the ability to drain water for a week. No flushing, no showers, no laundry or dishwashing.
Cut to a week later - our GC and his team have spent the entire week trying to figure out where the cross connection is. And it ends up that it is not in fact a cross connection - it's roots grown through the pipe from the house to the sewer!
Needless to say I'm out over $2000 (for the pump and the pipe cleaning etc) and we spent a week without. I wish the original plumber had thought to check for obstructions in the vent pipes instead of settling on a cross connection. Perhaps it was a new thing for him? It's apparently a normal issue in the South, I believe Lloyd was from the Northeast?
Andrew was personable and professional and handled my issue in short order. I would say he was an adorable young man, but don't want to embarrass him. I appreciate the rapid response given that it must be your busiest time of year. Thanks for keeping us cool.
Joseph Ewing from Mr. Plumber came out recently to do the yearly maintenance check on the water heater, and then checked the rest of the home's plumbing fixtures. He made some repairs and had helpful suggestions about some fixtures we may want to replace in the future. I appreciated the company's calls during the four hour time frame letting me know approximately when he would arrive. I have been very pleased with this company and plan to remain a customer.
I had a plumbing problem. Mr Plumber arrived the next day, Identified the problem and it was resolved. They also saved me from a future major issus. Ive used Coolray for years. This Company, Hires only the best technicians.
I had Cool Ray come out last week because our downstairs air wasn t working and our upstairs air was struggling. I had called Shumate but Cool Ray could get here sooner. I also told Cool Ray I need a new hot water heater and we will also be installing 2 new AC units and furnaces next month but in the mean time we had to get some air going. They got me scheduled and came out. The technician was great. I really felt like he knew what he was talking about. He found one unit needed 3 1/2 pounds of Freon and the other unit needed 1/2 a pound. He stated the going rate for r22 refrigerant is $220 a pound and will be non existent by the end of this year. As much as I hated to pay that rate, we were fast approaching very near 100 degree weather and with 3 kids I had to just pay it. They did give me a 10% discount because I booked online.
In the meantime a manager from the install department contacted me about arranging a time to come out and give me a quote on new units and furnaces. I told him I would contact him the following week (this week) to get scheduled. He was wonderful as well.
Fast forward to this week I decided to call Shumate and see their going rate of r22 and if it was close to Cool Rays pricing I would go with Cool Ray for the install as I felt like they were trustworthy (my own stupidity). To my surprise Shumate charges $106 per pound of r22. I was shocked and had her repeat it twice. Yep. $106. I then called a small independent shop. $100 per pound of r22. I was fuming mad and called Cool Ray install team and explained to Derrick what I had just discovered. He apologized and said by the end of that day or the very next someone within customer service would call me back to answer any questions and try to come to a resolution. I waited and by today I still had not heard anything so I called their office. The lady who handles complaints was not available but would absolutely return my call by the end of business today. Didn t hear a word from them.
They have made it clear by ignoring me that price gouging is acceptable to their business. I do understand I agreed to the price at will but we hadn t had AC for a few days and I believed that was the going rate as I was told. I also gave this business the benefit of the doubt by trying to contact them. Maybe there was an error or mistake in my pricing I was given? Something? What s bad for them is I told them up front - need 2 new AC units and furnaces and I also need a new hot water heater. I also manage 7 rental properties and 2 of those need new units...
I called them to come over to the repair my ac was told It would cost 700 to fix. It lasted for 2 days was then told I need a new unit. Financed through a bank for the new unit. It worked 2 days, It s been weeks and weeks of suffering. I don t know why I m going through unnecessary stress and aggravation. My 84 year old Grandma is here and we re all in pain
The Sump Pump in our basement failed. I requested a service call on the Mr. Plumber web site for the next day, and got a call back within a couple of hours giving me an expected time window of 10-2 the following day. At 7:45 the next morning I received a call from Greg Rubio saying that he could come right away. When he arrived, he promptly diagnosed the issue and gave me sound advice on the options. He then promptly performed the necessary repairs and was finished before noon. Thanks Greg!
Always get good service from friendly people. They are also quite thorough and bring to my attention anything that might need replacing or need repair. When repairs are needed I always get great service from very knowledgeable employees. I especially like to deal with JP. Updated rating. I would like to recognize JP because he is someone I know, trust, get excellent service from and excellent advice.
We had a small leak in our front yard that was inspected by the county first to decipher who's responsible for repairs. I contacted Mr. Plumber and they sent out a technician immediately. My Tech., Joseph Ewing did an excellent job identifying and repairing the leak. Joseph was extremely professional and knowledgeable.
Had a 4-6pm slot. They called saying he'd be late. He called later saying GPS says he'll be there at 8pm - is that too late? Well. I wanted it done, so fine.
Expensive, like other reviewers have said. Paid for the maint plan - well my filters didn't need replacing, so no benefit. The tech went over everything, testing this and that. Those things I already knew worked. I wanted him there to look at efficiency/was the unit operating at its best, for its age.
The tech released a lot of refrigerant while trying to connect to the port on the unit to check superheat. His words "That's not good." It looked like a big ol' fog machine had just be turned on, with thick fog everywhere. I was impressed yet horrified; there goes $$$ (refrigerant). This happened twice (10-20seconds each time). When pressed, "Oh it's nothing to worry. The space is so small I can't get to the connection." Right...He was very thorough in checking other things - I don't know if that's the norm or he was making up/distracting from the earlier refrigerant release.
Nearly two hours later, In the end, no refrigerant was added to a decades old system that appeared to never have been serviced. No parts/etc were necessary. I would have felt more comfortable/confident if in the end an actual measure had been done. For the money I was left with - "The system is operating fine. I cleaned the coils, so you should feel an improvement. Other than that, see you in 6 months." (second visit exam cost included in plan)
I Replaced the entire heating and cooling system and the gentleman who came out that day in the heat completed the job on time and did an excellent job. I am horrible with names but two of the gentleman had the same first name. I would recommend this company to my family and friends. Thank you for not only completing the work on time but leaving my property the way you found it. The gentleman asked me first for permission to park their trunk in my driveway. They unloaded their equipment and cleaned up all their materials once the job was completed. They were very professional and didn t mind answering any question I had about the process. Thanks again from the English lady in Decatur.
Great on sales. WAY understaffed on service. Under warranty and with a service contract they won't come repair our air conditioner for 2 days. This is an improvement over last time, when it took 3 days. I recommend going with someone else.
Always good, professional service from both CoolRay and Mr. Plumber . Ron Austin just did some plumbing repairs for us and did a great job. I'd recommend them to anyone in the area.
Great team, Great Job, Great Product. Would definatly recommend Coolray and thier entire organization. Might pay slightly more, however lifetime warrenty and outstanding customer service are worth the few extra dollars.
My water heater was leaking and created damage to my ceiling. I called Mr. Plumper and they sent Allen and Justin over to review the damage. Within 24 hrs they were able to install a new water heater and fixed the issue. No further drips and issues for me.
I 100% recommend Mr. Plumper for all water heater issue.
Today, we had our spring maintenance check done by your technician, Chris Keefe. He has done these spring/fall checks a couple of times previously and he is a fine ambassador for Coolray. I think you are really fortunate to have him in your employ.
AGAIN - Cool Ray to the rescue. The system froze up and wasn't cooling - Clay came out and we were back up and running and it didn't break the bank! Love this company!
My air started conking out today - of course on what looked to be the two hottest days of the year - and I did an online request for Coolray. I got a call within minutes and had an appointment for the same day. The company that installed my air conditioner told me they gave priority to their customers with maintenance plans and couldn't come out for days.
Brandon showed up, assessed the problem, explained it to me and presented options. He repaired and not once did he try to upsell or sell me anything more than was needed. I ended up buying a maintenance plan from Coolray to keep this unit working and because I was so impressed with their service and people! When the time comes to replace my unit, I will definitely call them. Until then, they can keep it running for me because they gained my trust today!
Trent Horne and Chris ( from Mr Plumber) came over today to install a water gas heater, among other things. They called ahead to give me their ETA, they were professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Trent walked me through all the steps and explained the features on all the things we had installed. It was a pleasure having these two do the install and would absolutely recommend them.
Julio came out to service my unit. He was very good at explaining everything I needed to know, and did an awesome job working on my air conditioner. This is why I keep Coolray.
Kirk is a great tech. but your prices are too high, plan to switch to Dependable Repair Service at the end of the year. You folks installed my heat and air back in 2005, and I've had a maintenance agreement ever since, but I am a 70 year old senior and can get the same service for a whole lot less!
I woke up 6am heat was out, 20 degrees outside! Just the day before, I saw a huge Coolray billboard on 75/85. I called Coolray at 7am, a lovely lady answered the phone and scheduled a tech to come between 10-2. The tech called said he could come earlier, he arrived at 9am, 10am heats back on and working great! The technician Greg was extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly...just awesome! Thank you Coolray for taking care of me and my family during this winter cold snap!
Erick, has come to our home twice, to do electrical work and installation. He is punctual, polite and professional. I was so pleased with his first visit, that I requested that he return for a second job and even signed up for the maintanence contract and will request him moving forward.
Jim Denton was my technician. He was very polite and professional. He gave us great advice on how to keep our air conditioning running more efficiently and keeping the house cooler.
I take awhile to determine how I feel about a company and their work. I like to see if they follow through and if the job was completely done. I will say, hand's down, they have some of the best customer service I've ever encountered. They are all super nice and separately I've heard them say to me that they are more worried about making us happy than making the money. As a customer I feel my voice is heard and valued. I trust them with my work any day. They are family owned and it seems they are all friends. It's a great company with great integrity from all the experience I've had so far.
Derek was very pleasant and came prepared to check my drainage for the air conditioning. My unit drains from the 2nd floor and I experienced problems in the past. I always had to ask your competitor's technician to check as they never came prepared, but Derek did. Thank you!
June 16, 2020- I wrote my review for Coolray over a year ago. 5 stars. I've used Coolray at least 4 or 5 times since and I am still 5 stars. They are the best. Strong communication skills, very knowledgable AND experienced technicians (I've had Sean as my tech multiple times- the best). Coolray is not cheap, but in my opinion, but it's definitely worth the price because it turns out to be cheaper because it is done correctly from the beginning. Thanks, Coolray and Sean! ---- A few years back I used a small HVAC company and paid over $300 and the heater was still not repaired properly. It was definitely a lesson learn.
I ended up finding Coolray the following year and have been serviced by them for some time. Unfortunately, last year I had an unpleasant experience with one of their technicians- lack of communication and resulted in a negative experience. I did not proceed with any services because of that reason. I did not feel comfortable testing another HVAC company, so I decided to call Coolray this year and specifically asked to speak with a Manager. I spoke with Derrick, the manager, and he was extremely helpful. I did inform him that I would not like the technician from last year and he understood. Terry, a different technician, came out and performed repairs on my HVAC/heating and everything has been working great so far. Their warranty is fair and reasonable and is included for parts and labor. I would definitely be using Coolray in the future from here on out. One thing I would recommend to Coolray- please make sure the technicians communicate more with the customer.
Scott came and did the yearly check on my furnace. Scott was a good guy. He didn't seem to be trying to BS me and seemed to get that I can do at least somewhat basic HVAC repairs myself (a step up from changing filters at least). Decided to do a 3-year maintenance deal at a pretty good value, and I'm thinking of having them do my rental properties next year.
I called because my heat pump needed service. The filter needed cleaning and we are too old to do this ourselves. We also needed Freon. The technician took care of both problems. We are very satisfied with their service.
Just had a water pressure control valve replaced in a very easily accessible area. Took him 1/2 hour to complete. Nice guy but cost me $444 for a watts 3/4 pressure release valve. Called 2 other top rated plumbers and they said it could be $230-250 but could be as much as $350 if it was in a tough area to get to...which it wasn't. They do good work as long as money is no object!
Wes and Seth installed 120 feet of pipe in my front yard to fix a broken water line to our house. They did this with minimal damage to my yard and treated my yard and driveway as they would their own. Plus, they are super personable and most of all... kind. A quality that is lacking in most services today and one that I greatly appreciate. Ruby (sales rep) worked with me on the price and when there was a slight hiccup, Ruby quickly and efficiently fixed the problem. Great job all the way around!
Quick appointment. Disappointed that the diagnostic fee was not waived when the service was performed. I wish I was able to make my appointment with the different company the day before to save almost $100. Still glad to have my air fixed in 90 degree weather (thus the 3 stars).
Your tech was on time. He was wearing his badge. He put on footies to protect my floor. I felt totally comfortable. Very professional! He resolved my issue in less than 2 hours. Great job!
I am amazed that I received a survey email. To sum it up: Never received a call back after responding to email from internet apt request. I decided to call the main line and the couple of times that someone was supposed to call "right back", hours went by and I would have to call them again. They were not clear on the time they were coming and then when the guy did get there, he was more interested in selling me on a maintenance plan , he dismissed what we thought it was, told me the a/c wasn't working because it was 2lbs low on Freon and he needed to recharge and then we would have to have another service call to leak test, he never looked at anything other than the Freon level. When he went to charge it, he said he was mistaken and it only needed 1 lb of Freon. He left and 10 minutes later the system started short cycling again, I called his cell and he said he couldn't came back and he would have someone come back the next morning( He never set that up). I finally had enough, called another company, they came out the same day, on time, and did a thorough inspection and found that it was the blower motor ( stated it is a common problem with our 2 yr old Carrier system), they located a replacement and had it shipped to them, came back 2 days later, repaired it ( adjusted Freon from the over charge that the Coolray tech did ). Since Progressive Heating and Air properly diagnosed and repaired, we have not had any trouble. Contacting Coolray was a complete waste of time and money.
Cool ray came out fast and identified the issue immediately. It was fixed quickly and with no fuss. The work was neat and clean and I really appreciate the speed and response time. The new system is so quiet and efficient. Thanks!
Kyle always does an excellent job meeting any plumbing needs in our home. We really appreciate his excellent customer service and trustworthy demeanor. We have also used this company in the past for our other home. I would HIGHLY recommend Coolray & Mr. Plumber. Scheduling is always easy, and someone is always available to come in a timely fashion. Thank you for everything you have done for our family.
Coolray continues to delight with their exceptional service and sales team members. From the initial meeting with Wayne to review multiple options for my AC and furnace through to Chris Melton and his apprentice making for a worry free installation. Chris made sure to have a spotless cleanup and took care in explaining the new programmable thermostat and the upgrades to the furnace in the attic.
This is the second AC & furnace combo that Coolray has installed for me. And on that first home I used Mr Plumber for helping me get a botched install by another vendor for my tankless water heater corrected. I highly recommend Mr Plumber as well!
Have always had great customer service and have been happy up until my last (and only) repair. I have been paying $150 +/- a year for a warrenty that honestly does not cover much at all. It was sold to me as a warrenty that covered parts and labor to my unit if I had them check my system twice a year. All it does is give you a discounted price of the parts. I had to pay for the service call and the installation. If I had known this I would not have been paying for the warrenty protection for the last 5 years and I would have called someone else to fix the problem. Other than that they have done great work and have very good customer service.
I had an Infinity series variable speed heat pump installed in July 2018. Two installers removed the old equipment and installed the new system in a day. I am totally satisfied with their work and the system works great. It holds temperature within a half degree and does an excellent job controlling humidity. The air handler runs at reduced speed once the temperature approaches the thermostat setting. There are no drafts and the system is silent.
We have always had a great experience with Coolray. Luis is awesome, and we always enjoy when he comes to perform maintenance on our three systems. Highly recommend!
I really like it when Mr Denton is our service tech. He get the problem fixed, tells me whats going on and goes to bat for us when we have an issue with the C/S reps at Cool Ray. I always try to request him.
Overall a good experience except the salesman was your typical used car salesman and lied to us about our financing options then ducked us for over a week until I called his supervisor and got answers
I recently had two new systems installed at my house that replaced the 10 year old systems that the builder put in. I had a great experience with the whole team, from sales through installation. Everybody was great, worked hard and was quite friendly. I think the part that I am most impressed with was that I received a call asking if a Quality Control Inspector could come to look over the installation. I, of course, said yes and while what he found was minor, it certainly showed that you care about me as a customer. To that end, as long as I am within your service area, you will have one for life.
The cool Ray service man was very friendly courteous and professional. He performed his services and suggested to me that I cut back my shrubbery form so close to the A/C unit for better performance . Overall good visit Lowell masom
Coolray was simply amazing. They responded promptly to my online service call request and follow-up calls to ensure service same day. I was placed on stand-by appointment for service same day and they were able to service, my AC unit 3 hours later. The technician was friendly, efficient and fixed the main issue immediately. The previous HVAC company Colonial was terrible and they need to hire better technicians since they lost their best one. They would not even return my call after already serving unit 3 times this summer. Coolray is AWESOME!!
Scheduled a service visit .... charged a $79 fee to come out .... advised a specialist would need to come out because they could not repair at that time ...scheduled another appointment for between 4 - 6 pm ..... took off work to he home for vista..... technician arrived at 11pm ... yes .... 11pm .... advised by technician that a fitting needed needed plumber's glue to repair issue..... left 15 minutes later at 11:15 pm .... technician made request that service contact us the following day..... no one ... not anyone contacted us regarding this .... absolute worst possible experience... we will be contacting Costco as well since they are an authorized provider with them regarding this inexcusable experience from start to finish.
Simon was TERRIFIC! He showed up on time, was professional and completed the work in a very timely manner. He explained everything in detail and made sure we knew about the warranty on the part. We have been long time customers and we will continue to call on CoolRay when we need them.
They say emergency same day but when I called they could not come out because they were booked. So you really are NOT emergency same day...false advertising ......
they wanted to charge me $150 to come out and give me an estimate on what likely will be a $10-15,000 commercial unit. Can't believe they would charge for a quote!!!
Run..... Run..... This guy came out and disconnected both of my thermostats and left the pieces after he told me that home serve would not cover the repair..... The tech complained about how much money they were losing because it was a warranty call.... VERY..... VERY..... DISAPPOINTED...
AC stopped working on Friday night. I was able to book an appointment via the web site and was called back very quickly. The technician was professional and polite. He was able to quickly diagnose and correct the problem. Great service.
From beginning to end the service and installation of my air conditioner was a success. My neighbor recommended Coolray without hesitation and I will do the same. I am very pleased and will continue giving Coolray my business. Thank you again for your excellent service!
Marty Grimes was awesome very very polite knew what he was doing walk me through the whole repair process. Kept me inform on everything he was doing. I will always request Marty to take care of my plumbing needs.
Our technician was competent, and worked in a very timely manner. Very happy with his work. Devin did a good job going thru everything. In the process, we signed up for the multi year arrangement.
In the middle of winter, we experienced issues with our HVAC. The technician came out same day as the service call was placed and actually arrived early. The unit was operating fine after he left.
My techs Robert and Dwayne were professional and when there was a glitch they resolved in a timely manner! Our crawl space where the old and new furnace belongs was made for a troll, Robert worked in there all day, heat and all, with a smile on his face, he really seems to enjoy what he does... So important, to love what you do...Thank you again Coolray, you have two great techs...
I ve never had a complaint with coolray but my air stopped working mid summer and Simon from coolray came to fix it and I was super impressed by knowledgeable and professional he was. They got my air conditioner working in no time!
