I've had a service contract with this company since closing on our home in 2016, and can't say enough positive things about them. It is very easy to contact the company and schedule service. They come out twice annually to maintain our HVAC system, and they solicit the call to schedule the service, so there's no need to write myself a reminder. When we first purchased our home in 2016, our HVAC broke on move-in day. The CoolRay tech told us the repair probably wasn't worth the cost given the age of our HVAC and recommended replacement. We got a discount through the company and invested in an expensive new HVAC which turned out to be a huge undertaking, as our HVAC closet is smaller than average. The technicians worked for 6-7 hours in 90 degree heat in the summer to install our HVAC and customize the tubing so everything fit correctly, which took a lot of time and creativity. They truly did a beautiful job with the install, as well as respecting our property and protecting our new wood floors. They really go above and beyond and I never feel like they are cutting corners. Worth every penny just for the maintenance contract!

Very unreliable. Tried to have my brand new ac unit repaired (less than two weeks after its installation by the way). The first time, they didn't bother securing the duct work to the unit. After sending a worker who was too fat to fit in our attic my disabled husband had to climb upstairs and fix it himself because it was 88 degrees inside our house and he didn't want to wait three days for someone to come fix it. Then, our unit started to leak onto our floor. They didn't bother showing up for the first appointment, and my husband had to threaten a lawsuit just to get them to reschedule for the next morning. We regret our decision going with coolray. We wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They should be called "The UNRELIABLE ones".

They used to be great but today the technician tried to use scare tactics so I would spend $$$. And when I called their office I was on hold for 10-15 minutes before someone answered and that person couldn't tell me when the technician would arrive.

Had to wait all day for them to come out - but I had called after 7p on a Friday after getting home and my a/c being out and they put me on "standby". Wound up fitting me in at 5p on Saturday. Technician was very knowledgeable and thorough and did a great job getting our unit up and running again. Reasonable fee for the Saturday call and for the repair.

Coolray van id number 203 made illegal left turn entering my lane of travel almost wrecking myself and three year old. Not sure I would trust a company with this inattentive employees working on gas or with electrical. Hope I will be able to post pictures.

Was an ongoing problem that spanded over 18 months. We were very upset that everytime Mr Plummer came with a different representative , they would diagnosis the problem as something else from the former employee. After much cost they finally sent a supervisor name Jeff who diagnosed the problem. He then followed through to get the problem fixed permanently.

I hate being lied to. Last year these Coolray soaked me to the tune of $500 topping off my system with R22. It was so expensive because R22 was phased out. My only other choice was to replace my entire system, or so the tech said. I later learned I could had the entire R22 charge replaced for less, not the system, just the R22. The "drop in" replacement for R22 is R44b. I was never told this by the Coolray tech. I'm guessing he would have gotten a spiff if I bought a new system. Do not trust Coolray, or do business with them!

UPDATE: 7-12-18
Even though Coolray claimed they would get in touch with me to settle this issue, they didn't! They just said they would to give the appearance that they cared at all about their customers. Big outfits like this would rather gouge their customers once, and get new ones through advertising, like having their name on a sports stadium.

The technician was very professional. He explained what he was doing along the way. Checked the furnace and the AC unit and made suggestions on where to set my thermostat. He was very friendly.

Our furnace broke on the first cold day of winter. We called Coolray, and they came out to inspect the furnace, advise options to fix or replace, and then install a new furnace for us. Three different members of the Coolray team visited us, yet all of this was accomplished within 24 hours. We were extremely impressed with the quality of service, the prompt response, and the great price. Thanks to everyone at Coolray for the excellent work.

Total con job! The guy spent 18 minutes in my house, didn't check ANYTHING except the EXACT spot I pointed him to, and handed me a $331 bill for "leak detection".

If anyone cares for the long version, I had someone else look at it first and was told I needed the evaporator coil replaced. I wanted a second opinion, so I called Coolray.

The Coolray guy shows up, and I tell him what the prior guy had said. I'm already in for the $79 diagnostic fee, so I ask if he wants to look it all over and form his own opinion. He tells me it would be an extra $250 to inspect the system for leaks. I said no, I'm not doing that unless needed, and asked him, "assuming it is the coil, can you give me a quote for that" and gave him all of the make/model information. He said, "well let's go take a look."

We go to the attic and I point him to the exact spot where the other guy had said the leak was. He takes out his meter, puts it in that exact spot, and it beeps. He waves it around a few times, and it beeps some more, and agrees that that the evaporator coil is the problem. He did not look at ANYTHING ELSE. That was it. That's literally all he does.

He goes to the van, gives me a quote ($500 more than the first guy), along with the bill for both the $79 diagnostic fee and the $252 leak detection. I said hell no and gave him a check for the $79. Even that was a waste because there is no way I'm using them for the repair now.

Unethical sales tactics! I am the owner of a local heating and air company and we had sold a job to sweet anlerly couple. They also got a quote from Coolray. The sales guy from Coolray keep on calling them and hounding them saying that our products were made in China and they shouldn't buy from us. He said bad things about my company and convined them to cancle the job with us. We are a small business and now we don't have a job for my guys to do today and I had to refund the deposit. Beware of these BIG companies thinking they can step on the smaller guys by taking advantage of the elderly. Very disappointed in you Coolray. You should be ashamed of yourselves!

I had a few leaks around the house. It wasn't quite the Titanic but the house is 50 yrs old and action was a bit overdue. Scheduling was a breeze. I lucked out in getting master plumber Bill Parker. He arrived as scheduled and rebuilt a couple of toilets, replaced the kitchen faucet and and discovered a potential iceberg in my path. The faulty shut off valve to my favorite toilet. Bill was personable, funny and most importantly competent and honest. I highly recommend Mr Plumber and Bill.

We needed 2 units. Ron Smith was great! He was very professional and answered all of our questions. He worked with us on pricing and responded quickly. The installers were clean, professional, and I felt very confident they knew what they were doing. Our power bills are half of what they were before the install. Thanks Ron!

Lebarius was extremely professional and spent the time to help me understand what was happening, why it was happening and how we could fix it. He explained the different options I had and pros/cons of each so I could make an informed decision.

I was very pleased, at the time, with the service person that came out. He seemed to understand what my issue was and know how to fix it. I am not one to stand over someone while they work, so I let him go about his business. When he was done, he explained what actions he had taken to fix the issue. I noticed when he was done that there was still water in the pan of the AC unit and on the floor. That was troubling to me because that was the whole reason for my call. Thinking to myself that it is not his job to clean my house, I soaked up the water from the floor and the pan and dealt with the cleanup myself. A few days later, the pan was full of water again but not spilling on to the floor so I figured it was suppose to be that way. The service person had explained that he had to replace the pump because it was not working properly and the outlet it was connected to was not working. He also explained that there is a trigger in the pan that when the water gets a certain level the pump will turn on and pump it out. I assumed the level is set that high and continued to watch it to make sure it did not spill on to the floor. Several weeks went by and we decided to look in to why the unit that cools the main part of the house was not working any longer(same unit). My husband called another company and they came out and asked me a lot of questions about the service I had done on the unit. Apparently there where holes drilled in the unit that needed to be capped off, the tube that is suppose to drain outside was clogged and that was contributing to the back up of the water. I was asked about the extension cord that ran from the pump to an outlet in another room and I explained that I was told the outlet closest to the pump did not work. The extension cord is still there, so I guess that was true. My units are now working fine and there is no water standing in the AC unit pan. It just kind of stinks that we had to pay 2 companies to fix the problem when the first company should have fixed it to begin with. I had heard such good things about this company and wanted to have a future relationship with them. Unfortunately for them, we know a lot of people in the construction business and can easily find someone else to work on our AC units for us.

I had my HVAC replaced five years ago by Coolray. At the time, I felt that they provided the best recommendations and competitive pricing. A lot of money and five years later, and I still feel that this was the best decision. I have had maintenance performed by Coolray as recommended and the systems have not let me down. It keeps my house 70 degrees all day long, even in 100+ degree heat, and it cut my power bills significantly.

When it came time to replace HVAC at another house last year, I got quotes from others and chose Coolray again.

I have to give kudos to Gary Moen, the technician who has serviced my home for the past 5 years. He is always friendly, knowledgeable, and on time. Gary has been great!

I just purchased a new A/C system from Coolray. I was very pleased with the sales process and I had a new A/C unit the next morning (a good thing in the hot Atlanta summer). After the install, we noticed something that we thought looked incorrect. They sent a service guy out fast and it turned out to be nothing. Very happy with Coolray.

The entire experience has been great. The comfort consultant, James Rejent was very professional, knowledgeable, and kind during his initial visit. Conversations with Alex Martinez were extremely personable, and truly encouraged our final decision to purchase. The installation done by Zachary and Ahmed was courteous, respectful, quiet, and a pleasant experience altogether. The follow up call from Gina to ensure that our system would be fully installed correctly was timely, personable, and gave us the confidence that they cared about how we felt about our purchase (and experience). Everyone whom we've encountered at COOLRAY so far, has given us the confidence in the product, and this is greatly appreciated!

Jason B. came to my house on a Sunday morning after a call Saturday evening about a possible plumbing leak. He determined there was no plumbing issue, the shower just needed to be re-caulked. He was so professional and friendly, it was a true pleasure. I hired a contractor to fix the ceiling where a hole was cut to confirm the source of the drip. The contractor convinced me that in his experience there was no way that it could just be a simple re-caulk. I called Mr. Plumber and told them this, and they sent two more plumbers out (Kyle and Kevin), free of charge to confirm Jason's assessment. They confirmed through various tests that 100%, it was just a break in the caulk that was letting water through. Just like Jason, they were professional and friendly and took the time to show me exactly how and why they reached their conclusion. We had the shower re-caulked and the portion of ceiling replaced and all is good as new! I have never been so impressed by a company. They really cared about making sure the diagnosis was correct and I understood everything. I will definitely call them the next time I have a plumbing issue! Thanks so much!

I bought my home one year ago. The HVAC system, purchased from Coolray, is less than two years old as of this post. There's a leak in the system (very unusual for a high-end two year old system), and my air conditioning stopped working last week. I called to ask about the warranty on the system and was informed that the warranty is void because I failed to establish a maintenance contract with Coolray when I purchased the home. I'm in the market for a maintenance contract, but customer service indicated it's too late, and they can't honor the original warranty. That's poor business in my opinion, and I won't consider doing business with Coolray again.

I have been a long-time customer of Coolray for at least 15 years and wouldn't give my business to anyone else. They are professional and always on time. John has been the service technician here several times over the years and I can count on him to get the job done in an efficient and timely fashion. Actually, all the technicians do a great job!

I had an A/C and furnace installed by CoolRay. They did a great job. I had some things I needed done in the attic with the duct work and they were able to take care of this while installing the new unit. It is all covered by a lifetime warranty assuming annual service is scheduled. The old unit was so inefficient we will probably make up the cost of installation in 7-8 years.

Would recommend to someone looking to replace an ancient and inefficient furnace and A/C.

The service was quick and the technician was nice enough. I need a new central AC installation in the coming months and needed a freon recharge. Well, Coolray charges $250 per lb of freon. The rest of the world charges about $30 for a lb of freon. Companies like this have a business model designed to take advantage of desperate people more than one that repairs and installs HVAC.

I can only imagine how much money would be wasted hiring them to actually do the installation.

I called a couple of companies to schedule a service to remedy a clogged drain and service. I should have known what I would be getting when the call center agent told me they could service my unit within the next day. The other companies were a week or two out. The technician spent most of his time at his truck and then proceeds to charge me a huge amount to unplug dirt from the drain pipe outside for 10 mins of work. Most of his time was doing his 20point inspection on the unit which i fully expected to pay for. When i asked what he did he could only recite 8 things so not sure if I even got what I paid for. His way to fix my issue was to cut the drain pipe. No set prices they make it up as they go and are a complete rip off. Terrible experience and will never use this company again. I usually do not post bad experiences but this one was just terrible. The service technician needs a class in customer service. Even your last customer of the day should be treated with respect.

My first experience with James at Cool Ray was phenomenal. Although a scary incident, James was professional and extremely quick. We were experiencing a gas leak and James was at our house in less than 30 minutes. It only took him about 5 minutes to detect the source of the leak and fix it. Along with that he gave us information on how to stay safe and use the gas. Immediately signed up for future maintenance checks with Cool Ray. Thank you James!

George came and took care of my system wonderfully. He was professional while being personal as well. He showed me a possible issue with my pipe so that I could keep an eye on it. I am so pleased with Coolray! Thank you for all you do, and make sure you have a bunch of George's on your team.

I wasn't going to write a review but this morning was my final straw. Please save yourself the trouble and go with another plumbing and a/c company (I would've but they couldn't get to me until next wk for A/c issues). I set up appt. blocks with Coolray 10-2 and Mr. Plumber 12-4. Technicians for both completely missed their 4 hour time blocks. At 5:55 I called Mr. Plumber to find out what was wrong only to hear the technician was still running behind and to please continue waiting.

Coolray's dispatch called at 12 to say he was running behind but that I was his next stop. The technician called at 1 pm and told me he was on his way but it would take an hour. When he still hadn't arrived by 2:15 I called and he said it would be another 35 minutes. I asked if he could come once I was back home from picking my kids up from school at 5 and he told me I needed to reschedule for a new appt. He comes to my house at 5:30 without calling to say he's on the way (thankfully I beat him there by an hour), spends 20 minutes and determines the problem. This morning I go outside and find the blue, plastic boot covers he wore yesterday in my back yard. My a/c still isn't fixed because the part had to be ordered but I never would've guessed that after all that headache, unprofessionalism and my $1,107 payment, I would've had to clean up after him as well. GO ELSEWHERE !!

The Coolray sales rep insisted he be the last to come and quote. He lead us to believe he was going to give us the best price because of that. Instead he was the most expensive and being last he kept trying to get us to reveal other vendor's quoted prices and model numbers so he could try to discredit them frequently citing that they are probably selling you a contractor grade unit. He wanted to know what evaporator coil model number one of the other vendor's quoted and I told him which was really to his detriment. He told me the other guy was using an aftermarket coil and his was a not. Later I checked his model number against the other and they were identical both quoting the same name brand. Thank you to all those who left negative feedback. I read them carefully and was the final clincher for us to disqualify them from our list. Ironically they have a lady who is their Customer Relations MGR who stalks the negative online feedback in an effort to repair the company's image. Ask yourself why do they need someone in a role like that unless they have an issue with customer relations.

No thanks Coolray

We recently returned home from a trip to find that our water heater had broken and was leaking water all over our newly remodeled basement. We called Mr. Plumber since we have a contract with Coolray. I wasn't sure how long it would take, but they had someone there within 30 minutes. Donald showed up and was so incredibly helpful and friendly. He saw what was going on, realized there was still a lot of water in the tank and after quickly explaining that he had a hose in the truck to drain the water outside and save our basement walls, he took off running up the hill to get the hose. I can't remember the last time I've ever had a repairman jog, let alone full on run. Donald was very knowledgeable, friendly, and did great work. I can't say enough good things about him. He took a bad situation and turned it into a good day by his words and actions. Thank you Donald & Mr. Plumber!

We had a Coolray Technician come to do our annual cleaning of our HVAC system. They identified a number of problems that were left over from a shoddy installment of the new HVAC system two years ago by a different company. In fact, the Coolray Tech was so concerned about the issues he found that he was able to get a team out to my house the very next day. The team that came was very professional, on time, and courteous. It s difficult to find companies with such concern for their customers in this day of age. That s why I have found a lifelong partnership with Coolray.

Today I had the pleasure of calling Coolrays Heating & Cooling with an issue that needed fixing prior to a home closing. What a delight the Owner Clayton Ray came himself identified the issue and though he was only there to evaluate he stayed and did the repairs. He is honest, forthright and an up and coming entrepreneur in Brevard County. Great customer service ! Articulate and most of all honest. We passed his name on to our realtor for referrals. If you need a cooling and air conditioning person I highly recommend "Coolray Heating and Air Conditioning". For those of you who do not like automated answering , You always speak to a real person during working hours. Kudo's to you Clayton Ray and Coolray Heating and Air Conditioning" . Linda Fodge

We fell for a great sales rep and paid premium for a Carrier unit. Wanted to make sure we avoided a no name AC unit for reliability and to avoid problems in the near future. Instead, we paid for the Carrier, but Coolray did such an awful install that we are paying for problems on a new unit anyway. We called them 6 times the first summer. First time, their tech told us it wasn't installed right. Each time after, it was a different issue after another. Then winter came...the next May came. Once again it started warming up, it wasn't cooling right. Called Coolray again. I mentioned this shouldn't be happening and asked if they istalled a bad unit, because this shouldn't be happening on a new unit. They did "tests" and determined it was a refrigerant leak in an existing line. Wanted to charge me $1500 to run a new line on the exterior of my home. I got a second opinion and the leaks were in the attic and outside by the unit (both were from the terrible welding from the install ). We are still having problems from our new unit, due to installation problems. Do not use this company! We will never let them in our home again.
