If i could rate this place a 0 i would. Absolutely disgusting customer service. I am an adult, i went in with my friend and my little cousin (16 years old) for a nice lunch near the beach. I walk in to be told i am not allowed to eat here as my cousin is not 18. Then they changed their story to they have a house rule that no one under 18 is allowed to eat in here unless they are with their legal parent/care giver. What a load of rubbish. I seen grandparents with there grandchildren and i doubt any of them were the legal parent/care giver. I bet you now that they didn't ask any adult walking in with a minor if they were the legal guardian. I believe this is age discrimination! We weren't even going to order alcohol if that was the problem we just wanted food. How could they not let us stay there and enjoy a meal if we weren't even wanting to drink. I cannot believe this place is still standing. so willing to throw away paying customers. I doubt they asked anyone else with a minor if they were the parent but because we were young they discriminated against us. They were rude and as i walked out i asked someone outside and she was an aunty not a care giver AN AUNTY to the minor she was eating lunch with. I find it disgusting that they tried to say it was a house rule but if i was 40 years old taking my cousin out i bet you they wouldn't even bat an eyelid. Do not give these rude, snobby and indecent humans a cent of your money. Not only was the place dirty, the food looked disgusting as we walked out and i seen bugs all over the floor. CAN YOU MOP? i have never experienced anything like this and I've been to plenty of taverns, pubs and commercial hotels. ALL I WANTED WAS FOOD? How rude to throw out paying customers who didn't even want to drink. All over a 16 year old being with me. Whats the point of Australia legalising 18 year olds to be classified as adults if we have no privileges in places like this. AGE DISCRIMINATION YOU SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN AND RETHINK OF BETTER HOUSE RULES BECAUSE THAT IS A JOKE. You will not be getting a cent off me EVER. Q

On Saturday night we drove down from Brisvegas to listen to some tunes and have a great meal. It was well worth the effort of the drive. Jordan , was amazing, Wow what a voice.We loved all of his tunes. Our dinner was really nice. Highly recommend the fish.

Good bar, great location. The live music is usually good, ranging to very good. The food is.... Not great, that is the kindest thing to say, but don't let that put you of a good pub ;)

Undercooked chips and one that tasted like a well worn sock. Chicken burger was nice. Table in the bistro was sticky. Not a great experience.

Middle of the road pup with some poker machines and minor bands performing some evenings .

Food was WAY over priced. $12.50 schnitzel : A scrappy bit of chicken and some crappy fries. Ridiculous!

Were greeted at door with a friendly smile from staff because of virus, food was good & plenty & drinks cold ofcourse very enjoyable looking out towards Coolangatta Beach we will be back.

Our waiter went above and beyond. Absolutely well worth every dollar spent here.

The food was amazing! I really was not expecting it to be this good. We were a large table. The waiter/manager ? Accommodated us and was super friendly. Meals came in great timing. Halloumi salad , summer salad, nachos, steak, children s meal and oyster kilpatricks.nothing to fault ! Cooked perfect bursting with flavours. We will be back!!

Spent over $200 on dinner.

A pint of beer was $13! Most of the meals were horrible. Perch looked like it was over deep fried, salads were drowned in dressing. My steak was overcooked and cold and sauce was cold. I asked for it to be redone and it didn t cone till everyone at the table was finished eating and they had cleared tables. When it came it wasn t any better and the baked potato was the worst I have ever had. We will NEVER go back here again and never recommend to anyone. A waste of money and horrible experience.

Great hotel with exceptional staff, view of the beach. Prices are reasonable.

Excellent music but unfortunately that is where my satisfaction finished. Terrible customer service, concerns with responsible serving of alcohol and OH&S. Displayed the worst customer service I have even experienced as the bartender was rude, obnoxious and yelled at other patrons. Failed to conduct proper responsible serving of alcohol, whilst giving no knowledge to customers of their venue s rules and regulations. On top of that I saw the bartender serve customers drinks when the legally shouldn t have. Broken glass everywhere, when warning bartender no one felt an urgency to clean it up. Very disappointed and concerning for future patrons who will go there.

I dont usually write reviews, but for this one I feel like I need to.
I just went there to have a coffee. What a bad customer service. As soon as I arrived, a lady that was in the cashier approached me to inform that they were only serving dinner, but in a totally unfriendly manner.
I asked for the coffee, paid for it and waited outside, as she said she would take it. After 10minutes waiting (although the place wasn't crowded at all), I had to go back inside to ask about my coffee. She saw me, she looked down with an angry face, pretended she didn't see me, got a small milk that was already sitting on the table and started doing the coffees. Finally, I could get me coffee, which wasn't good and leaking due to the loose lid.
In summary, reagarless of the food and drinks, I will never go back there, specially because of the poor customer service. Maybe more training should be provided.

Big open area that lets in natural light and air from the front ocean street side. Good on tap selection of beers. Regularly has local music acts that are pretty good.

We had a great time there - quality live entertainment for free is brilliant. Friendly, professional staff but food could be a bit better...

It's a pub. In Coolangatta. That's a good thing. Accommodation is cheap but weekends are very noisy until 3am.

Every time I'm in Cooly, I always pop in here for a drink! It has a good view of the beach, great food, good price, lovely atmosphere and amazing staff.

Absolutely terrible and disgusting venue. Staff openly display rudeness and a bad attitude towards customers. Definitely not a pleasant or welcoming environment. Avoid this embarrassment and stain on Coolangatta at all costs.

Too loud. But great if you're in late Middle age and trying to relive the glory days of going to the pub 30 years ago when you were young, it's the perfect place to go. There's often live music at a volume you can hear (unless you have a hearing aid, in which case you might want to take it out in advance).

The best! I hang out with all my mates here, the two of us love having dinner here and a few bevs. Sometimes I even get glass number 7 of 298789 and feel really exceptional. Numbers under 10 are worth way more cash and clink heaps louder. They accept me as I am, and I'm comfortable in my footy shorts and too tight shirts. Could be more 80's rock.

Nothing beats a couple of cold ones with the family at the Cooly to start a beach holiday. Good food and great service. Excellent location to watch the world go by and enjoy a cold brew.

Not keen on the smokers having the better place to socialise...

Great place to sit and have a drink and view the beach if there were not vans and cars parked in front.
Also the '' smoking area '' impinges on the people eating if the wind is blowing in that direction.
Smoking area not even walled off between eating area.
Thought this was against the law.
The smoking bit spoiled our experience.

The barramundi I ordered was melt in the mouth. Beautiful.

Been here a few times for lunch. Staff are friendly and efficient. Lunch was divine and well priced.

Be careful of bar staff raising the prices when they think everyone is drunk and not thinking.

I bought a pint of beer for $8.90. Bought another a couple of hours later and handed the girl a $10 note. She went to the register and then came back exclaiming that it was $12. I remarked that it was 8 bucks earlier in the night. She went back to the till and then back to me and said that she must have miscalculated it.

Absolutely horrible service, rude staff, discrimination against foreigners, overpriced, basically not a place to go. Watch out for short men syndrome affected bouncers, worst type I've ever seen! Pirate looking dude at the door will punch a poodle for no reason and the guy with the hair doesn't know how to put a whole phrase together.

Ate a really good seafood bar meal here over Christmas. A treat for a ' PUB'! Really good.

The bald headed hobbit you have on security really needs to lose the short man syndrome, I'm not sure if he missed second breakfast or was concerned my mate looked like gollum (fair assesment) and was scared he would steal his ring off him but there was no need to let half of the group in but then cut the other half off and use the explanation "I can refuse anybody for any reason". We can only assume he is so angry/confrontational due to not being allowed on most dreamworld rides his entire life.

Haha it's pretty fun. But just a standard average pub. Food is good. Beer is good. Music is loud. Smokers area is not very seperate from the rest of the venue which kinda sucks. Gambling available.

The food was fantastic and a good price however they make up for that with the price of alcohol being around $2.00 dearer than any place we go but food was worth the bit extra price on grog

Had the Pork Belly & bok choi ! Was delicious,but only small piece of Pork! !

Great vibe & had a fun night, bar the sassy girl behind the bar who tried to tell me it s against the law to serve cocktails after midnight - as a hotel manager I wouldn t be trying to order something I know I can t get. The venue needs to ensure their staff know the actual law & aren t refusing customers & losing revenue because of lack of training & knowledge. Also if you re going to refuse service, no matter what the reason, do it with a bit more decorum next time instead of the attitude of a bratty teenager; have some professionalism.

Ribs were very tough even though recommended by staff as a speciality.

Most staff were very friendly unfortunately the 1 who served us in the restaurant was not. Probs having a bad day but it did not reflect well.

I found it odd, coming from Brisbane city, that this pub requires that you not only surrender your ID for digital scanning, but that you also succumb to a digital photograph of your person before entry. I've submitted less personal information on domestic flights (upon which they serve alcohol anyway).

An RSA representative was on site at this time too, but he would not disclose as to the purpose and/or legality of this process.

I took my partner to a venue with less privacy requirements on this night, and the passed on the idea of having my ID and personal image recorded for reasons made not obvious.
