So I paid $105 for the first month of coverage. I ...

So I paid $105 for the first month of coverage. I have a payment plan HIGHLIGHTED by my agent that says I pay $49 and some change every month after on the 22nd. I got a bill in the mail saying i owe $69 on the 22nd and something about a policy update i was never made aware of at all. Next day I get ANOTHER bill saying I owe $74 on the 22nd and billing fees. WTH? Today I'm going to my agent and this company is either getting the $49 i was originally told or they won't get a dime. I will gladly pay someone else more who is open and honest about their billing and rates...
Will update if anything changes.

Edit: going with a different insurance company who's rates are better and just amazing customer service. Locked in rates for a year, uninsured motorists coverage for $2 extra a month and a 10% discount with their safe driver box participation. Only $4 more than what my origional payment was supposed to be with Safeway.

Please stay Away from this company....Terrible insurance company in Alabama. I was hit and hurt by one of their policyholders and it took a miracle to deal with the very unprofessional Claim Reps to settle and to recieve cleareance on their settlement check. You will have to make several calls to different numbers and get no answers. I was told about this company when I once was looking for insurance with them in Georgia and i'm glad I did not do business with them. I'm surprise the are still in business in Georgia. Stay far away from this company!!

I hate his company. They refused to give me a rental for something that was not my fault it was the other driver's fault and I waited almost a whole month without a car and with two jobs they refused to give me a rental. my agent lied to me and said that the claims representative who was very unprofessional would issue me a rental out of courtesy and turns out that I couldn't get it because my settlement was already made. I have called this company several times about a rental and I never received an answer or return call besides my settlement money. The claims representative was very unprofessional he told me that he didn't want to lose his job and he's married and he has children and he has bills to take care of. I was just doing what I was told by the agent which was waiting until the claim settlement agent to call me. Very unprofessional company and terrible company. Also my agent John bastat told me my check was ready before I left my hometown which is an hour away. I arrived at the company and sat for an hour before receiving my check after he told me it was printed and on his desk I hope this company goes out of business.

This company is by far the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. Despite the driver of their insured vehicle being found at fault for the accident and even being ticketed at the scene for his actions, Safeway is denying my claim and referring me to my own carrier for coverage! I cannot believe this scam company is still allowed to collect premiums.

Worst insurance company ever customer service is horrible.Monica of the Birmingham office was horrible n unprofessional.My husband n i nor the body shop could ever get intouch with her.No adjuster came out to look at the damages we were told to upload the pictures to them by email basically sending us a check for what they wanted to pay.Still had to pay 1000 out of our pocket to get our car fixed.Please do not waste yalls time with this company.Sad part was my husband had been with them for 20years.

This company is absolutely horrible. I payed for full coverage up front for 6 months with rental, I was traveling to see my brother and hit an ice patch and wrecked my truck out of state. I made a clame that day and was told I would hear back from them within 24 hours. After 48 I contacted them, and only got a voice mail. After 72 hours I finally got a call from a lady that asked me the same exact questions from the claim I had filed online, and would be in contact with me the next day. That was the last time I spoke with her, after several calls and voice mails i had to contact my agency to get ahold of them. This was over 2 months ago now and my truck is still in the shop, I had to pay for my own rental and towing and have not been reimbursed, and now the shop can't get in touch with them to fix the incorrect estament they gave.... PLEASE DO NOT BUT THIS CRAPPY INSURANCE

The absolute worse car insurance. Horrible customer service. The claims adjuster will not call you back. It took her (Alison Key) twelve unbelievable days to contact me. The only reason why she did then was because a loved one was assertive with the company. You're willing to take my money...but you drag your feet taking care of the customer. Spend the extra money on car insurance people. It will save you the headache and inconveniences.

This company needs to be shut down. They need more people working for their facility. I have been driving around in a wrecked car for weeks, the "customer service representative" sends me to the same extension number one been calling for 9 days, no one has answered no one has returned my phone calls, they tried the "supervisor" and again no one answered and no has returned my phone calls. This company is worthless.

This is a wonderful company. The bad reviews have to be from 1. customers who don't have insurance that are mad that they have to pay someone back or 2. someone who forgot to pay their premium and expect someone to pay for their mistake. Pay your bills people and don't let excluded drivers drive your vehicle, duhhh!! Kudos for the nice humans who understand that its insurance and just like health insurance you have deductibles and you have to pay your insurance premium. ANYWAYS, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE ! THANK YOU!

Terrible. I went through an agency. They sent me a letter in mail stating they will not renew my insurance. I called the agency and she said due to mail being returned and if I could bring mail stating my residence. I was boggled because I jus got in the MAIL that they will cancel. She said she will let them know and never returned my call. I tried to call safeway but high volume call and then disconnection. I'm over Safeway insurance they will never get a penny from me.

I was hit by a car insured by safeway. I called to make a claim and was told a specialist would be in touch the next day. Five days later i was finally able to reach the person who was supposed to contact me. She then explained that even though her insured car hit me from the rear, while i was stopped at a red light, by a car that had its headlights off at night, with witnesses and a police report that verified it, they were not sure they had any liability in the wreck. She stated they had planned to send a letter explaining this. 30 days later the letter arived. After i made the claim through my own insurance and had replaced my totalled truck. If you are looking for an insurance company to protect you in an accident this is not who i would reccomend.

I was involved in an accident with a Safeway customer. Trying to get a hold of the claims person was an absolute nightmare. They never answered the phone. And when they called me back she was rude and hateful. I'm only giving one star because it won't alow me to give less. I understand it's a discount insurance company. But you don't have to have discount emplpyees. I haven't received the check for my damages yet. There may be another review when that comes.

Please choose another insurance. You have to call constantly to even speak with someone about a claim. They gave me a rental car for only 3 days. Its been 5 weeks and my car is still in the shop because they don't want to send the check to the mechanic to fix it.

Worst insurance ever...to the lady who let her daughter drive and she was an excluded driver, but driving around uninsured bc your ins. Safeway doesn't cover the driver ..she hit us...and your insurance won't pay ..u knew she wasn't supposed to drive.. Safeway ...If your client whom u knew had a daughter in the home let's said daughter who's excluded drive it's your clients car you should still be liable then drop her or raise her rates ...but I've heard bad things about your company anyway ..I'd personally advise ppl not to use u.

By far the worst insurance company ever. It takes them months to pay a claim. Every time you call about the status they need more information or say they have not received the proper paperwork that's if you even gt anyone on the line...will be changing companies very soon.

I would not even give them one star. I pay on time every month to this insurance company and have been without a vehicle for a 3 weeks. The appraiser made a mistake, I understand mistakes but this is poor customer service all the way around. I am without a vehicle and they still have not turned the correct estimate in. So the body shop is waiting around for the correct appraisal and I am without a vehicle. Very unhapppy customer.

I was rear-ended by someone with this insurance. Ive been dealing with them since July. My claims adjuster is pretty much nonexistent! She wont answer her phone. It takes me calling her supervisor for her to contact me and sometimes that wont even help. Im still dealing with this claim come October. I just want to be done with these people.

I spoke with a Kim Williams( who is a fake supervisor) she was extremely rude and hostile. Stay away if you re looking for insurance pay the extra money for a reputable company.

Date of loss was 10-28-19. We are getting letters in the mail stating the claim is gonna be cancelled on 12-30-19 if they haven't heard from us. We have been calling every number we have and never get a call back!!!! So, you are trying to get out of fixing my vehicle that was damaged by your client???? The local office says they have no control over it because they are the "underwriters", both numbers out of Birmingham never get an answer or a call back!!! This has been the WORST experience of my life. This insurance company keeps lying and saying they have been trying to contact me. They dragged this whole process out from May to now (August) to assume liability. I can't believe they are even in business.

I have never dealt with a worse insurance company. It took me 3 months to get my car a MINOR fix. They never answered my calls. I always had to leave a voicemail and never got a call back. Not one time. So glad to be done.

Safeway is the worst insurance company...BEWARE...If someone insured by them hits your non-moving vehicle, they take a month to sent it to be repaired and then don't pay all of the claims and refuses to pay for the rental car that they provided you with. I will tell everyone that I know about this disreputable company. They need to be sanctioned by the insurance board or Al Attorney General's Office. Don't want to give even one star!! I used Safeway insurance company for a few years. Hard times came, my insurance lapsed on my car. I wrecked into someone else's car whom also used Safeway. So of course that made it my responsibility to pay for the girl's car that I hit.
Kim Peyton was the lady I was working with as far as trying to set up a payment plan. I received a letter in the mail about what they wanted me to pay per month and said if I needed to arrange different payments to call her, (bc I could not afford what they were asking, I'm a single mother of 2, with no financial support from the father).
I called and left her a message explaining my situation and asking her to please call me back.
She never returned my call. She turned it over to an attorney.
I called again asking why she sent me to an attorney when she never called me back. She was basically calling me a liar by saying I never called and left her a message. She also said she works with too many people and can't remember to do everything.
I asked for her supervisor (Nicole) so i could suggest that supervisor hire more people if Kim can't handle her work load.
Nicole got my message the next morning and called me at 7:33 a.m while I was getting ready for work. I was talking quietly on the phone bc my 11 week old baby was sleeping.
The supervisor told me "just go back to bed.." I replied with, "for you information I'm not in bed. I'm getting ready for work trying to not wake my baby up". The supervisor then laughed at me.
I was offended. Like I said, I'm a single mother with no financial help, my phone call was never returned by Kim, whom then turned me to an attorney where I was served with papers by a sheriff at my apartment to be sued.
They had no reason to treat me that way.
I was also a customer of Safeway ins until my insurance had lapsed bc I wasn't getting child support and have rent, power, water, phone, child care to also pay all by myself. Before my insurance lapsed I was a customer of Safeway for nearly 4 years.
I wouldn't advise anyone to use Safeway Ins of Alabama because their employees like Kim Peyton and Nicole Crocker (or Crockett..?) were very rude and unprofessional.

Horrible to deal with in Alabama. Their insured hit me, they don't answer the phone or return phone calls. Dena Johnson is absolutely the worst and most unprofessional person there. They stopped paying for my rental car while my car was still in the shop. I would never use them. And honestly if anyone who hits me ever again mentions this low rate, crappy company as their insurance company, I'll probably lose it on them for being so ignorant. Stick with State Farm or Allstate. That commercial that says there's one caller ahead of you Jimmy- that's this crappy company. Don't do it. Wish I could give less than one star.

Someone who has them for insurance, rear ended my husband on Wednesday, they told us that someone would call us by the end of the next day, my husband has tried calling every hour everyday and still nobody has answered or called him back! I guess what we need to start doing to making complaints to the better business bureau, and hire a lawyer. We are a family of 3 and they want to take there sweet time. They must have used option or wholesale estimates of my car. I actually had to file a complaint with the Alabama Department of Insurance in Montgomery about how they calculated the value of my car and other factors.
