We have liked Concannon for the last ... too long. Anyway we came for the Pettit Surahs but lately the Cabernets and Chardonnays have us comming back. Memberships have some really good perks. Nice lawn and garden games for kids. Bring some apples and cheese, buy a bottle and enjoy the sunshine.

80% of California's Cabernet Sauvignon is grown from Concannon Clones 7, 8, and 11! Concannon Vineyard also released the first 100% Petit Sirah (1964)! Jim Concannon, a true California visionary! Enjoy a great selection of these wines at the beautiful Tasting Room and grounds of this wonderful Livermore winery.

Bought a bottle of the 2016 cabernet sauvignon paso robles. Sadly disappointed. Tasted more like a $5 bottle of wine not a $21 bottle. Trying to sell at same price as quality wine like Josh or Coppola black claret but lacking all the flavor.

Busy busy busy. At the wine tasting room no one was there to tell us where to start, finally found a place by the counter and it was just several empty glasses no one was cleaning up. We moved from there because again no one helped us, by the third counter a lady told us somebody else will help us because she was waiting for a group, the guy tried to help but the cashier register didn t work. We decided to go outside and more than 1/2 of the tables where reserved. We got a bottle of Chardonnay and it was ok not great.
By the time we left it was extremely busy.

There are so many better wineries in Livermore...with better wines!

I have yet to have a pleasant experience here. I really want to like Concannon, since apart from Wente it is one of the main anchors and larger wineries in Livermore...but none of my experiences have been all that pleasant.

To start off tastings are not complementary, which is fine unless you have some of the most expensive tasting fees in Livermore that are NOT comped when you purchase bottles of wine! Not really a big issue, except the wine here is NOT that great. It does NOT command that kind of value or recognition. I was stunned when none of our tastings were comped even though we dropped around $200 in wine purchases...IMHO ridiculous!

I found the only good thing to be the venue itself...big, spacious, clean, well maintained and the restaurant here is very good. Nothing to brag about...

Concannon Winery has become a go to spot for many of our family celebrations. A couple of years ago my sister and I treated our Mom to a "Paint n Sip" event for her birthday and the event was a smashing success! (The look on Mom's face when she thought we were taking her to the yoga event was priceless!) Oh! My sister accidentally left her credit card at this event, and of course it was found, secured, and returned to her. Thank you to the staff for that!

Since my sister moved to the Livermore area, we've been going to Concannon for Mother's Day. If there's a more popular day at the winery I can't imagine it! Last year we had reservations at Underdog, the restaurant on the property. Sadly we didn't have reservations for the lawn (yes, on the busy days you need reservations for the lawn) This year, older and wiser, we knew to lock in reservations early. I worked with Elizabeth from Concannon and wow - what service! Elizabeth was so patient and explained all of our options prior to the reservation period opening, which helped us decide what would work best for us. She called back on the day reservations opened, we secured reservations, and I'm looking forward to spending Mother's Day with my Mom at Concannon. (thank you Elizabeth!!!)

It's been fun to visit on random weekends, and I swear one of these days my sis and I will ride our bikes there! (Yes, they have bike parking!)

I was here 3 years ago and again this year, and the differences were staggering. It appears they have gone corporate and lost some of the charm from 2008. The staff was not friendly and some of the space was now occupied by a "trendy" wine bar that was tacky at best.

Frank or Fred with the impressive mustache was delightful and charming. He gets five stars, but the wine and other staff kinda don't. If you're touring several rooms, go here, there are worse along the way.

The wines presented for the tasting were each so unique, but really good! We luckily had Penny helping us out; she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She had all sorts of suggestions and tips, and made us more acquainted with the Livermore valley. Such an easygoing atmosphere and beautiful grounds. Would definitely go back next time!!

I have been going here since 2014 and have had a good experience just about every time; one time my wife and I went and just didn't feel the vibe from the server. You can taste many vines for the cost, if you join their club you can come for free and bring a few as well.

I had lunch in the back and it was great; super view, very relaxing and more!

My daughter and I wanted to go to Concannon Winery this afternoon. The woman who answered the phone was curt & acted like we were bothering her with questions about entertainment availability today, prices, etc. Thus, we decided not to go. I've never been to Concannon but suspect Mr. Garcia (above) is right on.

I did not feel like I was welcome. They searched my bag for outside wine. Then told me I couldn't sit at the table unti I bought a bottle of wine.(my wife was inside buying a bottle) and the third strike was them not letting my 2 year old play with his ball on a go an grass lawn. This review is strictly for there winery. The wine there is great.

My husband and I loved learning about the history of this winery and the area. We enjoyed walking the grounds as well. The wines are great as well! I was pleasantly surprised by their chardonnay as well as their full selection of reds. Such a wonderful experience!

Beautiful grounds but poor customer service. I took a group of 8 people here on a Saturday and they couldn t be less accommodating. I was pushed all over the tasting room trying to get checked in. The lady at the desk/host stand would say one thing and I d get to the tasting bar and would be told another. It was honestly embarrassing taking a group of my friends and family from out of town here I expected this place to be top notch with 4.4 star reviews. From someone that is a wine club member at many wineries in Napa and Sonoma I was very disappointed in this experience. We left and went to Wente where the service is always good.

Another great version of a CA winery. The person that helped us was knowledgeable and very personable. I don't even like chardonnay normally and theirs had such a unique toasted coconut flavor (something I've never tasted in a wine at all). Another location that allowed us to try a couple samples that were not on the tasting menu to give us a more personalized experience. I will definitely be bringing guests back here.

You can only taste in the tasting room, but if you buy a bottle the grounds are very nice for a little picnic. You can bring whatever outside food you want to pair with the wine. Lots of shade, but probably still pretty warm on a hot summer's day outside.

Got in a little before 4 main tasting area was loud and we had baby with us (celebrating 2 yr anniverary) and you have to pay at register for tasting. There was a line and cashier(Silvia) was doing double duty to also help with tastings so a 2 group line took greater than 10 minutes...by the time we paid past 4 pm, so no outside tastings...no problem Sylvia assured us... just go outside and we can get the mini flights just ask for Claudia or some other person, so we take baby out and find the appropriate place and ask for the flights only to get hard no both by the main person at bar and by Claudia....On our way out Sylvia tells us of course they can't help you its after 4 ....I wouldn't have minded an immediate no, but the delay from the assurance guaranteed no chance of a tasting at another winery...we were not asking for a lot, maybe make one area outside not exclusive to club members

I went to Concannon Vineyard, but the weather was sunny and in spite of being November 4th. Wine can be tasted in glass for $ 5, and you can drink while playing picnics on the outside lawn. Even if you bring sandwiches from outside and food, there is no problem at all. A lot of people visit on weekends, but the site is so wide that I think there is no problem with securing space. Cabernet sauvignon had a deep wine and it was very delicious. It was compatible with the Italian sandwiches I bought at Whole Foods. Because it is in the immediate vicinity of Livermore outlet, we recommend you come after shopping. Last time at 4 o'clock, since it is closed at 4:30 pm it is good to come until 3 o'clock even though it is late!

Concannon Vineyard is a great place to spend the afternoon with family and friends. They have a great garden area with plenty of seating to have a picnic and let the kids run. Dogs are also welcome...which is a plus! The Chardonnay is great this time of year with the warmer weather. I ll be back for sure and take a tour.

My family and I stopped into the tasting room on July 25th. I am giving them two stars for their wines alone. Customer service was frankly, atrocious. I would give zero stars for customer service if I could. My sister wasn't feeling well during the visit, so she opted out of wine tasting almost immediately. She hadn't taken a sip of wine before she decided that she wasn't going to partake in the tasting.

We were served by Chuck, who seemed fairly knowledgeable about the wines upon initial introduction. However, it was apparent that he was more impressed with the group of girls that he was serving at the bar next to us, which was evidenced by the heavy-handed pours he was more than happy to dole out in stark contrast to the pours we were receiving. His general demeanor was anything but warm and inviting, which is pretty sad and inexcusable when you work in a customer service position in which you are forced to deal with people ALL day.

The icing on the cake was when my Dad decided to purchase two bottles of wine following the tasting. He purchased a bottle of the 2016 Mother Vine Cabernet Sauvignon and a bottle of the 2016 Nina's Cuvee Petite Sirah. At most distinguished wineries, tastings are comped or at least partially when you became a wine club member, or buy a bottle of wine. When my Dad asked Chuck about the winery's policy on compensation for tastings, Chuck was quick to let us know that Concannon only covers tasting room fees if you are a wine club member. I understand that Chuck isn't responsible for creating winery policies, but he is responsible for the condescending comment that came out of his mouth next...

Chuck had the audacity to retort, "Well I didn't charge you for HER tasting," insinuating that he was doing us a favor by not charging us for my sister not feeling well and choosing to sit the tasting out, even before she had ONE sip of wine. It truly is a shame that Chuck's lousy customer service and his brazen comments left such a bad taste in our mouths, as my family and I were largely impressed with the red wines we tasted that day.

Concannon should reconsider their policy on tasting room fees for customers who purchase at least a hundred dollars of wine, in the interest of competition with most wineries in the area.

I'm always happy to be here. I bring the family here about one a month. We have young kids, so we like to pack a picnic lunch, find a table early, buy a bottle of ros or viognier, and sit and chat while the kids run around in the lawn.

Staff wasn't friendly and not as attentive as I would've liked. We had a party of 8. 4 of us went to the restroom and tried to come back in, only to be stopped and asked if we had reservations. The group in front of us didn't have that problem. Also, we went on the patio to take pictures. We tried to come back in and the door was locked behind us. We had to walk all the way around just to get back to the front. I wouldn't recommend this winery to anyone.
