Colombi hotel Freiburg Review

Very good kitchen, but also high prices, recommended.

Too sterile and stiff, no relaxed atmosphere, almost only pure plastic on floors, ceilings and walls. Nothing in nature.

What can you say is a 5 star hotel and that's exactly what guests expect. Simply great

Our reservation in Callet at 20.30 until 21:10 could start was just one of the most unfortunate situations ... guests are harsh and rude also addressed by the operator ... we were looking forward to our Christmas party ...
We will not visit this house anymore ...

Pleasant ambience also the majority of the staff seems to care for the guests.
The rooms are nicely decorated and also more than clean.
Unfortunately the service in the restaurant was less pleasant due to long waiting times. Therefore finally 4 stars

The image of this hotel being a world leading hotel is completely false.

The top address in Freiburg, when it comes to eating in a sophisticated atmosphere. With excellent service you get here very special dishes served and an extremely generous greeting from the kitchen is always there. Different rooms with slightly different ambience will not leave you bored. Tip: Reserve a table in the Zirbenstube, which has recently been renovated. Another tip: go to the men's room and enjoy the pictures ...

Again, the staff and the bar, including the bar manager, were very good

We visit the Colombi Hotel several times a year. As a former Freiburger it is our island of harmony. Like a second "home".
The cozy bar on the ground floor is a real gem with its staff. The pianist spoils our senses.

Nice rooms, small spa, nice pool, very attentive service

If there is a hotel in Freiburg, which can be recommended without restrictions, then it is certainly the Colombi. Okay, if the budget is important for a family stay of several days then there are alternatives. But not if the claim and the corresponding expectations are in the foreground.

A very nice hotel. The staff is perfect. The nickel room and spacious.

Last year spontaneously stayed there for a week (really spontaneous, was just the next hotel at the train station, only ~ 500m away).

Despite the fact that we are pitched for two at very short notice, the staff was still friendly and endeavored a room. During the longer wait (the Junior Apartment Suite was still prepared - understandable) we were seated in the great lobby and served free drinks on request. In addition, they apologized, since the time required to prepare the room was probably above average.

Due to the spontaneous booking they wanted to deposit a security of 600 euros in cash on the same day. Unfortunately, the service area of the Sparkasse (nearby) was already closed. Together with the cash of my wallet and the ATM (where I could only withdraw 500 euros per day) it was then enough - but still I would have found it better if the staff had offered to split the amount or the next morning pay (was a foreign savings bank, since I am from the east of Germany - possibly therefore the 500-euro limit).

Apart from that, the rest of the stay at the Colombi was a dream: swimming in the pool in the evening or with the child the fitness room unsafe. The menu in the room can be seen as well - it is consistent (that means, even at night no one must starve here). I have never eaten such a good Pulardenbrust :). In addition, we made nice contacts, such as with a family from Dubai, who also went on vacation here.

Super iconic hotel. The swimming pool is ideal for (well behaved) children.

The bar is cozy, the bartender extremely competent and very attentive. To spend a few relaxing hours playing live piano sounds, this is the place for you.

4 hours were enough for the 5 * house to send me an offer.
Apparently they don't need to.

Absolute recommendation in Freiburg! Everything was just right here. Starting with the sensational location right in the old town, the service and the friendliness of the staff, the decor (very stylish) as well as the food and the bar. We will definitely book in this hotel again.

First class hotel with exceptionally good cuisine and first class service. Always a boon. The additional wine bar is very pleasant.

Enjoy a delicious lunch in the Colombi Cafe in Freiburg. The lunch menu included a beef steak with herb butter, broccoli and almonds and 3 hash browns, which I ordered.
I had ordered a small mixed salad beforehand. The small, almost overlooked bowl held a very cold cucumber salad, which was not in season, a little radish salad and some lettuce leaves.

I only visited the hotel briefly on business. Very good kitchen, friendly staff. Building is not new. But it is precisely this romantic charm and warm atmosphere that I miss in many new hotels. Thumbs up and hopefully see you soon.

We had an appointment to eat in the chalet, which is only open in the winter months. Although at first I was honestly a little skeptical about whether I would feel comfortable in the rustic ambience, I really enjoyed the evening.
The service was excellent, very friendly, courteous, unobtrusive, yet attentive.

The ambience is rustic, but it is cozy and it is original and it was the first but certainly not the last time that we were guests in the chalet.

Excellent cuisine, attentive and impeccable service. As I'm always in Freiburg for the pre-Christmas season, this is also my recommended time at Colombi. Beautifully decorated for Christmas and festive, just great! High price level, but definitely justified. My recommendation for Freiburg.
