Colombi hotel Freiburg Review

Professional - atmospheric - excellent! Excellent location between shopping area and train station. Well trained service staff and an amazing atmosphere throughout the hotel! Again any time!

Tonight food in the chalet - a disaster despite good food and good service - after a short time we sat (3 guests) wrapped in our jackets at the table - since the heating in the entrance area was switched off it moved permanently and could not be improved despite complaints -

Wanted to relax in the hotel's own cafe after visiting a museum. After we got a seat we were ignored for the first time and after half an hour, when guests at the next table were served and had left, we finally got a card. After we were a bit amazed at the prices at first, we all found something we wanted to order, but after another half hour no one had come by us, although we had spoken to the staff several times, we left. Maybe it is very nice for guests of the hotel, but I would not recommend it to anyone for a quick visit to a cafe. You should rather look for something nice and relaxed a few cross streets, which we found and can only recommend.

We were here for dinner because of the new chef Mr. Rischmaier. We were curious how the food is under a new boss and it was fantastic! I have rarely eaten so well. The service was very good and the food a poem. We chose the menu du chef (clearly not a bargain) but we enjoyed this meal so much that it felt like we were on vacation. Only to be recommended and many thanks to Mr. Rischmaier for this experience!

Leading hotel with prices. Best service - the current daily offer was rather mediocre.

We had a very nice evening starting with cheese fondue in the alpine hut. Very fine. Service outstanding. Wine selection according to the level. The evening we have then end in the hotel bar. An absolute must for the next time. We will also have a closer look at the Carter Restaurant.

Very nice hotel right in the old town of Freiburg. 5 minutes from the train station. We had a large junior suite overlooking the Colombi Castle. Bar and cafe were great, we were lucky with the weather and sat on the patio. We did not have breakfast for reasons of time. In the evening we were in the Zirbelstube (1 Michelin star) and celebrated my birthday with a great menu de Chef with 7 courses, which were all perfectly prepared. The staff were all very accommodating and friendly, the reception was very helpful in the choice of destinations in the area. Thanks for the great stay!

Rooms are beautiful. Service is great. When they clean your room they leave a piece of chocolate everytime! Breakfast is very good, but a little overpriced. I had a great experience with Colombi and will come back.

The best address of the city. Excellent food, excellent bar and exclusive hotel. Absolutely recommendable!

Herbstbal 2013 im Hotel Colombi.

1. Am Tisch wurden von jungen Kellnern zuerst die Herren bedient, dann wurden die Teller den Damen vorgeschoben (katastrophal!!).

3. Nachdem der Kaffee serviert wurde, fragte der junge Kellner: "brauchen Sie noch den Zucker?"... und dies nach ca. 180 Sekunden... (katastrophal!!!).

Das Essen war sehr gut dank dem Koch - Lob und vielen Dank!

Auch von dem Stichwort: "Luxushotel" erwartet man mehr Savoir vivre vom Hotel und Hotelpersonal. Leider lag es weit unter meinem Niveau. Meine Frau und ich haben es vorzeitig verlassen...

We felt very well ... The staff are great ... The kitchen is excellent.

The food itself was very good. However, even as a guest, you can see how badly the employees are treated. Very disappointing on an interpersonal level.

This hotel has a wonderful location, the rooms are so wide with city view, the breakfast include the traditional German breakfast. I recommend this hotel for families visiting this area from Germany.

We go to the Chalet Fondue once a year. It is cozy, the food is good and the service is very nice. Also very nice and relaxing is the bar that we visit afterwards in the Hotel Colombi. With live piano you can have a good time and forget the stress of the day. The cocktails taste great

The hotel is getting old. Start with the baths ... I am very disappointed.

I find the Colombi simply getting a truly extraordinary experience. Especially breakfast, it did to me (next to the spa area).

Unfortunately a bit expensive but otherwise really great.

Lovely staff, got an upgrade, room was perfect. Loved the fruit bowl. I would give it 5 stars but we tried the spa and it seems some opportunities were missed (candles/pictures/music/lighting) etc to give it a nice atmosphere

Grandiose and best hotel with international format in Freiburg. Central, service of the highest standard, pleasant and charming atmosphere, stylish and high-quality arranged rooms! I was allowed to enjoy a suite with a view of the Freiburg Minster! Great!

Reception on arrival perfect as the first time, the room is neat and extremely prominent, the bedding is of very good quality, the soundproofing is excellent the only negative there is staff at breakfast young must learn but certainly poorly supervised older people are not smiling unpleasant and this is reflected in the general atmosphere of breakfast which is plentiful but of average quality. The cold omelette is not very pleasant and in this kind of establishment it is not normal.

Food is very tasty, but the room was very dark, as the view is on a hill wall, the bathroom was very nicely decorated, unfortunately, the shower was tampered with, as there is no shower tub, the tiles with sloping to the drain are, but Not so, when showering the water runs into the bathroom and you have to be careful that you do not slip.

Nothing outstanding when it comes to good food in a sophisticated atmosphere. The service is nice. Different rooms with slightly different colors try in vain to avoid boredom. If you think that is luxury, you do not know it.

Great cake selection and surprisingly no feared "moon prices" otherwise I personally pimped and sophisticated.

The hotel in Freiburg, awarded, star and Kochmuetzen excellent kitchen. A highly recommended house bar.

They furnished us a broken bed. Their attitude is not warm, I felt like they were from east side tho they are not.

Definitely a 5 star "another time". Exquisite and unsullied, somewhat old-fashioned ... but that just gives it character.

Due to the day of the week, Michelin-starred restaurants could not be used. I used the hotel restaurant. It was delicious and the staff was great.

Beautiful hotel, great and friendly service without being over the top, without being "too much" without being "too much". Quite normal, but friendly, we felt welcome. Our room was so nice, just because it is not so modern cool. The bathroom with 2 sinks I really appreciate, the shower is so well made, that you can run out of the water and dry yourself, the towels and bath towels are not wet, because they are far enough away from the shower. Toilet seat was a bit too high for me, but still ok. Great air conditioning, great terrace window, great room key (not the modern card, but that's great). The breakfast was very good, coffee was delicious, the fine silver (coffee pot, sugar bowl, etc.) I think so great, that sugar, sugar cubes and sweetener and cold milk were already at the table with salt pepper and jams - I feel Luxury, was beautiful. Also the elevator with the discreet music and the dark glass was already. The stairs to the first floor is beautiful. The other rooms I do not know, we had 415 and that was exactly our taste (only the flower sofa not quite). But the rest like the bed, the tables, the desk and the lamps - we felt at home and that is not often in the hotel. Many thanks to the Colombi Hotel and their team.

This is fabulous hotel. My husband and I stayed there for three weeks when I took a course at the Max Planck Institute (which is just up the road a bit) during the summer. I would get so hot coming back, but my husband would turn the AC up in our room, which got to the frigid level. The hotel doesn't skimp on anything. Our room came with free morning breakfast (not all do) which was an incredible buffet the likes of which Las Vegas would be proud. The hotel staff was welcoming, the maids were perfection, and the room itself (a suite really) was both comfortable and beautiful. Wonderful views, right in the midst of town. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Is very nice at the Colompipark has an excellent kitchen. It is very easy to reach by car and tram.

We were in the hotel bar, so must be a bar. Great ambience, perfect bartender and a piano player. What more do you want

It was in August 2018 when I and my platonic companion (a so-called "refugee") were turned away from all bars and discos in Freiburg after the ID check of my friend (despite a valid residence permit until October 2018) - mind you, no "upscale locations", but mainly So-called "student descent" - a 5-star hotel - namely the Colombi - finally welcomed us hospitably and completely impartially without any prior ID checks - and thus prepared a really unforgettable evening in the piano bar with wonderful piano music - thank you, Colombi for this wonderful memory on a day that was very negative in advance! On this day you unconsciously gave us hope back to people who are free of prejudice !!!

Goods in the chalet, Bavarian duck eaten. Very crispy fried, served hot but not dry. Was so far my best duck, recommended. Seating was very tight.
