We took our son and had excellent service. Everyone was wonderful.

My daughter had a scheduled surgery at Cohens. The staff were so kind to myself and my husband and they took great care of my daughter. The nurses, doctors, and all the hospital staff were great. We had one staff bring some baby toys over so my daughter could play before surgery. Another nurse held and rocked my daughter when she woke up the surgery so she could be comforted. It is never easy when you have to bring your child in for a surgery but all the staff at Cohen's were very compassionate and made the experience positive for us.
Dr. Mittler performed the surgery and he was so wonderful. He gave us so much reassurance and confidence that everything would be okay. He is a great surgeon and a wonderful person who truly cares about his patients.

Wow. I had my first experience here yesterday and was blown away by the kindness of the staff. Wonderful team of people providing a great service for Long Island families.

Embarrassing to think it used to be a great institution now only money pit with staff that has no clue DON'T BRING YOUR KIDS HERE! go somewhere else here they'll get sicker.

Worst experience ever my sister just got out of surgery and my dad which is her father tried to see her and they said she was not in the system. The women who was at the desk explained to my dad that she is not going to go through this again she is not in the system . Her exact words where she is not going to go through this again. You work at front desk in a hospital where is your sympathy?
The security guard (professional)apologized for her after the gentleman finally found her in the system... but my dad was already panicking thinking something was wrong with her because of the words she is not in the system. I work with customer service and there is a way to speak to people especially the family of a patient that just got out of surgery.

My kids and I were in a car accident. They put my kids at easy and very helpful!

DO NOT BRING YOUR SICK CHILD HERE UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TO DIE IN THE WAITING ROOM I came in with an ambulance for breathing difficulties for my son was sent in front for triage was told there is a 3 hour wait...ThIs can't be right I left absolutely terrible they said they have no beds

From the triage and exceptional care in the emergency department, to the admission process to the pediatric department, the quality and friendliness of the nurses, the genuine care of the physicians (residents and senior physicians alike), and the efficient and competent laboratories and radiology techs- children and families know that they are in the best place, where they are treated with the utmost respect and professionalism and everyone will do whatever it takes to promote healing. Few words are sometimes the best- thank you!

From doctors to staff, they are very nice and caring. Highly recommended!

I was here for 2 days and I liked the service they provide from doctors to people who give food is a hospital that I recommend for me has 5 stars. the doctors and nurses have worried about my daughter, I thank you very much for all the attention that has given us pity that I have them very far to bring my children every time they make me sick.
oh and the rooms and the whole hospital is very clean.

The medical staff was really nice. Rooms are really small. But the real complaint is the food program. The food here is absolutely atrocious. I cant believe they even serve this to kids. I wouldn't serve it to my pets. Its that bad. Cohens really needs to invest in a much better food program. It was so disgusting and the food servers have really bad attitudes.

This hospital is absolutely amazing!!!! I had taken my daughter back in October for some chest discomfort and they wanted to rule out her pancreas so they did a sonogram and checked every organ while they had the machine on. It ended up being acid reflux but while doing an abdominal sonogram they saw gallstones. I was shocked bc prior to finding out my daughter would have random pains but they would go away. I found out that the pain was from stones that move. They were so attentive got my daughter in to see the surgeon and we took it from there. She had her surgery today and everyone from the doctors to the nurses to the parking attendants to the patient liaisons were truly amazing and compassionate! The treatment was outstanding. I felt so comfortable! Another time I took my son to the children's ER bc he had a fever a week after having the flu and I got nervous and had a lingering cough. The doctor said flu symptoms can come and go not to worry but he heard the cough and I explained how it's been a few weeks with a cough and he said a chest can sound clear with a stethoscope but a chest xray can really show if the cough is something to worry about. We did an xray and it showed my son had slight pneumonia in the top left lung. I told my pediatrician that each time I kept asking them about the cough they said the chest sounded clear but never ordered an xray knowing it lingered that long. I am beyond thankful the doctors at Cohen's are thorough and very informative! I love everything about this hospital and highly recommend it!

I came in with a kidney stone and yes the wait was a 1 hour but when they called me back the nurses saw me right a away and we only waited 10 minutes for a doctor answer he knew what to do I got iv fluids and pain meds and the pain and the urinating blood was gone

I came here with my twins they literally gave them wrong treatment and when I realized I ask them to transfer us to a different hospital (Weil Cornell ) but they keep on delaying and making excuses, honestly all they do is experiment on your baby with all new different Inters and try to delay treatments , I mean make all the procedure slow so that they could keep charging your insurance and make money, trust a mom never be a fool going to that hospital by it s preety look , it is a trap!!

I had to take my daughter to the ER at Northwell on a Saturday at 3am. Our experience there was amazing! The staff was caring, thoughtful, professional and thorough. I was confident in the care my daughter received during a most stressful situation. I would highly recommend the emergency room at Northwell!!! Thank you to all who helped us!

Worst ER ever, my daughter is only 10 months old and have fever, vomiting,. we came at 2am and it is now 7am Waited 5hr and still waiting to see a doctor. All the nurses are saying it will only take couple minutes every hour. (Edit after another hour) So many employees just standing around talking about bs doing nothing. While there are still no doctors and it is 8am now 6th hour waiting. Need to find somewhere else.

Children are number one , And they always have Activities for the children and On occasion a play or a puppet show . Most importantly they have the latest in technology to give your child the greatest patient care.

If your child has tooth decay, READ THIS.

We came to LIJ Pediatric dental dept because of their great reputation. Our son had a bad case of tooth decayed. We had been to several local dentists and no one was able to help us. They all told us that he needed a specialist and they all recommended LIJ. Here are the pros and cons of our experience.

Pros- The female dentist was very professional, sweet with our son, answered all of our questions, we didn t feel rushed. Se did an excellent job removing our son four front teeth. The procedure was quick and she made him feel as comfortable as she possibly could. We were very happy the way she treated our son. She made a hard procedure for a small child the best she could.

Cons- The female dental assistant that took x-rays looked like she didn t want to be bothered. As concerned parents we were nervous and didn t know what to expect. Even before meeting the dentist she was telling us that they would have to remove all his teeth. She was cold with our son and was strictly there to do her job. After our son procedure she applied the gauze to his bleeding gums and as my four year old cried from pain and confusion she told him don t play with it bite down. I was very upset when I heard that. He s scared, confuse and crying! He s not playing with the gauze! What s wrong with that lady?! People like that shouldn t be working with children. Its clear she doesn t want to deal with small children.

The dentist informed us that the six cavities our son had would all have to be removed. She said that they don t bother trying to save the teeth when the children are so small they just removed the teeth. The procedure would take place in the operating room. We wouldn t be allowed to be present and the head dentist would make the decision as to what tooth goes and what stays.

We were very setup with what we were hearing. We thought that we were in the best place for our son but this was the solution we were given. Clearly we weren t going to put our son through that. We continued our search for a dentist that was willing to save our son teeth. It took us a year later but we finally found one on Park Avenue that helped us. I m happy to report that our son six teeth have been saved. We didn t have to put in through the operating room and the whole procedure took less then two hours.

It is clear that LIJ pediatric dentistry is not that best! It s all about medical claims and not the children. Insurance companies pay more for a surgery in the OR then a dental procedure in an office setting. Do your research and don t put your children through that.

I give the female dentist that treated our son ten stars she was excellent.

It s all about the money. It s hit or miss with the staff. My son was terminally ill. I walked in to see his feeding tube contents on the side of his face and into his eye. No parent should ever see the neglect of their sick child.

Waiting was too long , but doc rocker made our night he is the best .we were so worried for our kid but came out with a smile on our face .

I love this hospital every time I have taken my sone never waited more than 10 minutes the doctors are amazing and took care of my son right away yes the nurses might need a class on etiquette but the hospital is great

This is definitely the best children's hospital I have ever been to. My child has a kidney disease and I have been in a lot of hospitals in different states. The staff at this hospital, the way they treat you and the manner of which they have their procedures executed in second to none. This is our family go to hospital and I can say nothing but good things about them.

Horrible place not recommended to bring your kids unless you want to waste time

Wonderful staff and caring nurses. Wasn't happy with a female guard downstairs, and since I've been here since Sunday morning, it has affected my rating of Cohen's (the guard IS an employee of the hospital, after all). Other than the guard and a minor inconvenience or two, I think Cohen's is the best children's hospital around.

As a Northwell Employee I must say the receptionist that was at the front desk on 3/10/19 at 4pm was horribly rude. If you want to work in that setting especially urgent care for CHILDREN have some common sense... have some kindness or leave the job, there are 100 ppl behind her waiting to take that job and have patience and sympathy for others.. no one knew how to sign on with the ipad, poor her it was like hell for her to get out of the office to help someone with a SICK CHILD - shame on her.

I would like to thank every one in the mental health part for helping me though the hardest time of my life dealing with ptsd sever anxiety I couldn t Even say in a room without being scared for my life i was a very social person before all that stuff cam along then when I got ptsd from waking up in the middle surgery every since that I was never right I got really bad where I couldn t go anywhere so my last resort was coming here and boy am I glad I came here the people where all so nice made me feel like I have known them for a long time they would tell me every thing they where going too do and they put me on Zoloft and the was the best thing ever I am living a normal life agen hanging with friends socializing enjoying life agen. Thank you so much

My daughter was scared at first, me too, it was our first time going into a hospital for her. Yet, the moment she walked in, she wasn t as scared anymore. We were speechless. Great service! Everyone was good and caring. Place was amazing. We went in right away and discharge two hours later, about, more or less. Not bad at all. We were there a few weeks ago around 6am on a Friday.

Wonderful place and highly recommended. Trained professionals throughout and clean facility.

This is about the layout of the area. I feel they need more bathrooms maybe in the rooms in med 3 area instead of walking out of area to use one. The people who helped us was really good hope they can loosen up a bit when they come in with a bunch of doctors. It was a bit intense. Can t really complain but I just want to say Thanks!

The staff was amazing, my son needed to go for a sedated MRI. He left saying they were so nice to him, he is 3! Not only were they caring the MRI imaging was clear and better then other radiology places. All 3 doctors work at Cohen children s medical center and I highly recommend them for gastro, spine and neurology.

Very good hospital center. We came in about 1am ...they gave him his own private room in ER and not only that ...the rooms were equipped with Xbox n TV ! The doctors were awesome ! Answered my questions... Really took there time to find out what was wrong with him.showed how genuinely they are. There's no other hospital center I would take my child to Then here.Thank you Cohen's staff !

Was a patient here, had to have an appendectomy. Staff here were amazing :)

This place is a nightmare. My son was admitted and we had no care whatsoever we went there to be ignored and make him more miserable. Absolutely disgusting.

The clinic in this hospital ..is not a urgent care center . they charge as if it is a emergency room visit i got stuck with 150.00 emergency room fee. Plus doctor.Fees. Worst part my kid was misdiagnosed. The doc. Was in a rush. Gave her antibiotics just in case.
We had to take my kid to a prohealth urgent care cause she still was feeling sick. Best doctor right diagnosis. Please if you insurance cover for urgent care facilities. Stay away from cohen children hospital urgent care clinic. You will be billed as a e.r visit

If I could give no stars I would. This place is beyond dirty, ants in the food and all over the cafe disgusting. Staff and nurses are rude and unprofessional I would never in my life bring my kid back here. Stonybrook from now on.

Amazing, attentive, caring service from the Valet to the attendant that brought my daughter to get her MRI. No less than 4 different doctors examined her that night. First rate experience

this hospital is nice and clean. the nurse and staff were friendly and helpful specially the ones in Med-3. but i would never come back to this hospital because of the way the doctors treated my son. specifically Steven J. Schneider the pediatric neurologist assigned to him. i don't know here the arrogance comes from, maybe it is supposed to be when your last name is sort of pinned on the hospital buildings and halls but there is no reason to treat your patient and the parents with so much disrespect. my child is a special needs child and he as put on no food and drinks from midnight because of a CT scan scheduled for the early morning, for some reason they have the scan late at round 10AM well what can you do. after the scan i asked the nurse if my child can eat and they said they are waiting for the neurologist to see the results and he'll decide. it was already 1PM and my child is already getting out of control agitated and about to bang his head again.. hey the child haven't eaten in 12 hours what do you expect? the nurse called and paged the doctors for an hour no one came up.. the nurse we're already hanging in our room with the look of confusion mixed with concern and shame watching me wrestle with my son to stay in bed. one hour an half later the great Dr. Steven J. Schneider came up followed by a bunch of his cronies laughing about something.. came to our room and said CT scan is okay and we can go.. i tried to ask him about how big the subdural bleeding inside his brain is and mentioning our concern.. the great Dr. Steven J. Schneider was rolling his eyes and turned his back and walk off... i was speechless with how we were dismissed. i heard my 12 year old daughter behind saying what was his deal? the way he act he is not supposed to treat children. we left the hospital by ourselves and i don't know if that's how it was supposed to be but discharged admitted patients for head injuries, aren't they supposed to be put on a wheel chair and taken by a aide out to the door?

over night my child still complained about the head hurting and we need to go back to the hospital.. guess what we didn't go back to cohen and went to winthrop instead.. the facility is not a organized as cohen but the doctors were great and my son was comfortable. doctors took the time to assure us that our child is going to be alright but we'll just have to be careful with his head for next weeks. so comforting and next time around we are definitely going to winthrop.

to close, if you need pediatric neurologist for treatment don't be amazed by the nice buildings and facility at cohen. the doctor - patient relationship is more important that nice building and facility. we were admitted at cohen on holiday season.. christmas time a time for giving and kindness and we were treated by the great Dr. Steven J. Schneider that way, i wonder how is regular days.. could worst.

piece of advice.. DON'T GO TO COHEN CHILDREN'S MEDICAL CENTER.. for somewhere else where you will be treated like a human being.

I went to the ER with my 14 year-old cousin during the pandemic. From the moment we walked in everything was so fast and clean. We felt so safe. They did all the exams quickly (including an MRI). We were not there for more than 1 hour. All the doctors and nurses were very welcoming and professional. Thank you to all of them for their great service.

I am employed at long island jewish hospital and I know first hand how great the staff is and not to mention how CLEAN the facility is .

My 9 month old took a tumble as we got off a cross country flight at JFK, and fractured her skull. We don t live in New York, so we were at a loss. The responding EMT said we were going to Cohen s, because they are the best and that s where he would take his children in our situation. Boy, was he right. The entire staff at Cohen s was unbelievable. From the neurosurgeon to the custodians, everyone we encountered was knowledgeable, kind, attentive and compassionate; not to mention they took exceptional care of my baby! My family is incredibly thankful we ended up at Cohen s, considering the unfortunate circumstances.

Miss diagnosed my child. Sent her home with no meds. Went to Northwell LIJ they ran some test, She had Pneumonia and my child got a note from Cohens to eturn to school after fever breaks. This hospital used to be good. A lack of patience by some of the staff. A couple of very nice nurses and so far one resident Doctor. 4th visits here, 3 bad experiences. I hate giving one star but they need to do better.

I got to emergency at 4:00 PM, it took them more than 2 hours to get us inside, they made an XR 30 minutes ago and nobody have come here yet. Now it's 8:30PM (4 hours and 30 mi nutes) we don't know anything even how long we are going to be here. Meanwhile we see how the rest of patients that came later have finished and they are leaving the hospital

My child time spent there was a great experience I had no complain about the hospital it was great

I was there once over a year ago for my baby. I couldn't remember the name of the hospital but when my baby got sick again I told my husband that I wanted to take her back to this hospital. It was clean, very kid friendly and the staff was nice. I wont forget the name this time

The staff were amazing!!! And the service was quick. I was in and out within the hour. They answered all of my questions and even called the next day for a follow up. I was super amazed by this hospital.

We were there for the other hospital and came here by chance. Everyone was so helpful in guiding us the correct way.

As mother that really cares about her son I would say this is the hospital Ive had the best experiences at. I frequent the hospital often because my son has a multitude of health issues so I can tell you the experience is almost always the same. The only complain I have is that the parking should be reduced or free for parents at the main parking for the children hospital.

My son has croup. Had a major attack yesterday, chest caving in.
We quickly got him to the emergency room and his symptoms abated along the way and during the hour and half wait. Arrived at 1am. Taken in at 2:30 . Never was seen. We left at 3am.

When in with my 5 year old for appendicitis they took 3 hours for us to get admitted because they had to "wait for a room to be cleared" this was ridiculous

My daughter broke her wrist while riding a scooter and we rushed her to cohens. Immediately they took xrays, examine the problem and realigned her wrist (they had to put her to sleep) everyone that I encountered was so sweet and caring. They gave my husband and I food. They talked to my daughter about how she s going to feel and about her pain and they spoke to her in words that she understood and she was so comfortable with all the nurses and doctor. The orthopedic doctor was amazing and did an awesome job. I will always come back to this hospital for urgent needs for my kids

Waited for 3 hours with a 4 year old child 2 days post kidney surgery who wasn t feeling well. We asked multiple times when is our turn and was told one more patient each time. We ended up leaving because we were too exhausted to wait any longer. When I told the nurse that this was unexeptable for a post surgery young child to wait so long, she told me that we ll be seeing shortly... I will definitely write a letter to HR, this is insane.

Cohen children medical center is amazing. They are very thorough in their examinations.I took my new born son there, he wasn't feeling that great. Soon as we hot there ,we was seen right away. The doctors examined him thoroughly to see what was wrong. They were very professional and accurate with treating him.he was okay thank God.

But I have to give it to the staff over there ,they made sure me and my wife felt like we were at home .the hospital was clean ,plus the doctors and nurses were very friendly and courteous. These professionals epitomize good care over there. Not like some Pediatricians that don't take there time with children and examine them fast and send them home with out the issue being solved.

So I would definitely take my son back there if he is ever feeling sick in the future.

My child has suicidal thoughts and has acted on them 4 times... cutting, pills, deep depression, manic behavior.. we have been begging this hospital for help.. they keep turning us away.. they say it's just behaviors.. the doctor we met with tonight was so heartless, a very cold person. I had never met a person like this..

The worst hospital. Ever. I came here with my newborn sister & parents for an appointment & was treated with so much disrespect from the desk worker. Her tone with me was so sh***y, she kept asking why are we here and what do we want because apparently my baby sisters name didn t show up in their list. So I kept talking to her and then things started to get heated, she gave me a paper and I was filling it out and then I told her I made a mistake can I get another one and she started screaming her life out at me and telling me I didn t tell you to write anything oh my lord. I ended up breaking down crying. A nurse had came and tried to calm everything down. Maybe it was just a bad experience maybe the other reviews are right but that was so disgusting and unnecessary. This is really the most crappiest place ever. If I could apologize to those few people with their kids who were waiting I would because it was so chaotic.

Wait time is 3 hours as per the person registering. My son vomited 4 times in front of them but even after requesting nobody saw him. God forbid, one day it might happen the patient died before the doctor saw .

Nurses doctors were great .but why am i hear waiting for a taxi in the waiting room with my son sleeping with a cast on a dirty waiting room couch . its not like this place os packed 2 other people waiting in waiting room .says it might take up to two hours .update we were dischaged at 5:30 taxi never came was canceled everytime they said it be here, we wrre3 taken home by hospital van at 10:37 am arrived home at 11 am. I lost my job the first day . you helped my kifs amd ruined my incomes.set me back 3 months after i turned down two jobs for thr one you made me missed

Do not leave anything in your car of value when getting your car valet. My laptop was stolen and security, staff and administrators weren't much help.

My son was transferred here from another hospital to treat broken bone. When we arrived they received us well but it took so long to address the issue and never even get to see the senior Doctor. He sent his assistant, who don't know what she was doing. She put the arm sling wrong way. I had to re do it myself. Other then that nurse are very nice. Food is really good.

I took my daughter to the ER and they treated me very well. I was there for many hours, but I did not complain because it was because of tests they were doing. I was also afraid to take her because of COVID-19 but I felt safe because in the waiting room there were not many patients and inside I was waiting in a room where only my daughter and I were. And they came to check it and each member of the staff that entered took all the necessary care. I am very grateful to everyone who cared for my daughter.

You notice how clean the hospital is as soon as you walk in the door. The nurses were very friendly. However the wait time was about 45mins to an hour before the doctor saw her. Even tho we were the only ones there at the time.

Absolutely horrible...was lied to consistently about my child s discharge every other hour...they literally make it a practice to juice Medicare for all its worth...that place was the worse hospital I stepped foot in EVER Keep your family safe and avoid this place...you ll see plenty of frustrated ppl there for very gd reasons (patients and employees) wish I could gv this place a negative rating because they don t deserve a single star

Awful my daughter with 103 fever throwing up hedeache they make us wait 4 hrs never called my daughter after i asked they told me we are looking for another sick kids meanwhile my daughter is cold with fever and throwing up finally they get her a room noone came to see her and i end up to leave with my daughter i said to the nurse u are on the phone doctors on the phone we are bussy on your phone yes the worse hospital for kids empty bed out side kids are vomiting they are still waiting to be call.

Brought my daughter in for body pain after being referred by an urgent care doctor to take her to the er we waited 2:30 hours to be seen while people who came in way after were seen and left already, I understand they go by severity of the condition but 2:30 hours later was just ridiculous

this is the best hospital ever. they treated my son for an asthma attack. the staff was wonderful and the hospital is so nice and clean.

This hospital is horrible..called the dental center in February and was told they are not seeing kids who are new to call back in july to get an appointment for September.
This is beyond shocking to me for a hospital that only specializes for children.
Spoke to 3 different staff everyone was rude and unprofessional one even hang the phone up while i was still talking .

I've been going to Cohen Children Hospital for over 10 years the Pediatric Dentist is patience and very good for youngsters.

My daughter was rushed via ambulance to this hospital and admitted for a few days. I have to thank every single person that took care of my daughter or plan of care. Everyone was AMAZING. I mean everyone the doctors, nurses, interns, finance, janitors, foodservice, cleaners, receptionists, social workers. If I could give 10 starts I would. The best hospital I have ever been to. I think you have to know someone from hospital to be seen. Get ready to be toooo patient 4-5 hours in ER. Sad.

Worst E.R. do not bring your kid unless you want to wait 7 hours without treatment and get wrong blood test results bc they hemolize it. Tell you lies that your child is dehydrated when lab shows no dehydration. Avoid going to this trash hospital.

Second time coming back here and second doctor who IS SARCASTIC and unpleasant. Frost doctor prescribed asthmatic medicine we did not need (drug pusher?) second doc last night was as if she had such a long bad day she was soooo sarcastic!!!!! I asked about an X-ray for my 4 yr old and it was like I was an idiot. IF YOURE TIRED GO TAKE A BREAK!!!!!! I have your name and can name you but I won t... 7/8 7:30pm female doctor. THANK YOU to the male doctor who came in at the end and saved my mood, explaining a little more to me as a concerned parent and answering my idiotic questions. PATIENT CARE EXP retraining for the female doctor please. You re at a pediatricians office!!!!! Smh.
