Great service, but the food is overpriced, under-seasoned, and more greasy than fine Chinese cuisine should be.

SparX is a relatively new Chinese restaurant in Clifton Park, conveniently located right next to route 9. Uniquely, the hightlight of this restaurant is their decors and the vibes. Just when you walk in the lobby (yeah, like a hotel lobby), there is a beautiful waterfall decor, with bench seating area around. They have by far one of the fanciest interior designs of all Chinese restaurants in the area. Not only the dining environment is very clean, but the choice of utensils are also very upscale. The whole place feels like an old ancient Chinese palace in a way. I usually don't care or talk THAT much about the interior designs for a restaurant, but this is something just worth mentioning. You might actually be able to take someone on a date here, can't say that for other Chinese restaurants around.

Obviously you can't just not discuss the food when talking about a restaurant, right? The dishes here are consistent and good, so far speaking from those two times I have been here, but could be more authentic. Some speciality dishes that are meant to be spicy can use some more heat.

Best Chinese food I have ever tasted, its the real deal. The owner Peter and wait person Garrett came to our table and explained all the different foods and the food was out of sight and the service is the best ever. Awesome place to eat, I will be visiting their every chance I get. Awesome food.

Lovely authentic Chinese food. Had the pork soup dumplings they are very good. Excellent lo mein.

Amazing food and service. Despite them having several large parties to serve. My wife and I still recieved great service. The food was delicious too. Very large portion sizes. We will definitely be back!

I was looking forward to trying sparx for awhile due to all the great reviews. I ordered sweet and sour spareribs and eggplant in garlic sauce.
There was no meat at all on the spareribs. They were little chunks of bone. Inedible. The eggplant was fair at best, not much flavor. I did call to complain and was sent eight spring rolls which were way undercooked, with no flavor.
Sorry, Sparx, won t be a customer.

Service is doubly outstanding. Food is excellent. Family style portions means that getting a lot for your money is guaranteed. Selection is fantastic. I'd say this is the best kept secret in the capitol district. Certainly, this is the best Chinese cuisine. I'm so glad we went. We'll certainly be back.

Food is exceptional especially the Chow Fung Beef on the new menu. Could eat it everyday. $11. With an order of scallion pancakes or soup dumplings makes a fantastic meal.

If you go with a larger group it is the best bang for your buck. Went with 15 people one time and the bill came out to about $20 a person and it was a FEAST!!

Just OMG!! Fine Dining, atmosphere, great food, awesome service, great conversation. Not your run of the mill Chinese place. And desserts. You won't find fortune cookies here. Be prepared for the unusual. Will definitely be going back. And I'm going to try a drink.

To be fair, I'm extremely picky when it comes to Chinese cuisine. We used to live near NYC's Chinatown and went there quite often - there's no comparison here. Tonight, I picked up a 'to-go' order and it smelled divine on the 20 minute ride home. Couldn't wait to get home and eat. But by the time we ate, the food was between cold & not hot. My bad. I will try them again but eat there. They have a beautiful waiting area with a lovely fountain by the front desk. Very elegant dining room which happened to be empty on a Wednesday evening at 5 p.m., good time to go if you want to try the food, and I suggest, eat there. Gentleman who took my order spoke so highly of his wife's bakery items, I can't wait to go back and try some. Nothing was available when I was there. Everything is made fresh. They use fresh cream for the cakes!

I stopped by SparX for an early dinner and was very impressed with the place. Most of the dishes are served family style so sharing is encouraged. I had a simple seafood fried rice and was very impressed with the artistry and ingredients. The calimari was scored, there were good quantities of egg, shrimp, scallops and even sea cucumber. I will be stopping by SparX again. Also the MaiTai's here are very good!

Soup dumpling is amazing. This is a real Chinese food place. Family size portion good for sharing.

Went for lunch and thought the food was great and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing. Service was great! We will be back to try dinner soon!

This place is our new restaurant! The service is excellent and the decor of the restaurant is superb. It was extremely clean and stunning. We enjoyed a variety of dishes. Our favorites being the soup dumplings, Chinese broccoli, Szechuan chicken with clams, vegetable lo mein, and wonderful beers/drink specials. Large family style dishes offered at good prices. The waitstaff can point you in the right direction if you need help picking a dish!

The meals are clearly prepared with love and they are prepared to order. The taste of the food is FRESH! Nothing has been sitting in a large container to be served. We will be back and we will tell everyone to come see you! Thank for bringing authentic Chinese food to the area and for being willing to answer all the questions we had about dishes.

Terrible food. I ordered lunch specials and the fried rice was crunchy, tasteless and seemed days old reheated rice. Had to throw it out. Chicken was dry and seemed days old too. complete waste of money.

Every thing about our experience was wonderful. Anthony and Mo were the friendliest and most fun waitstaff I have ever experienced. The food was AMAZING. The whole feel of the place was great. It was incredibly clean. Doesn't look like much from the road but it is wonderful.

We've been wanting to try SparX for awhile so we decided to stop.... I'm glad we did. Garrett, our server was spot on and his drink, Coconut Heaven....OMG!! To die for!! The food is fantastic and very large portions... you won't go away hungry, matter of fact, you'll take food with you. Their covid safety is spot on! I recommend this place

Food had no flavor! Duck dumplings were good but they only had soy sauce and chlie sauce, no dumpling sauce.

Picked up general tso s for take out earlier tonight. The chicken was good quality and had great flavor. Unfortunately the brown and white rice option for the combo platter was a disappointment because I prefer fried rice. The brown rice was cooked well but lacked flavor. I ll try something new next time but would come back for sure.

Its an awesome place for Chinese Foodies, who prefer to eat Shanghai style of flavors and spices......
Hot n Sour soup is amazing and served in Family size Quantities......
Also loved Lo Mein Noodle (Ordered well done)

Beef dumplings and pork buns were wonderful. Squid dish was very chewy but the sauce was terrific. Crispy beef was super and requested again by my kids. Enjoy family style service. Nice change of pace.

Not a review but heard many good things about this restaurant. Question for the owner who I see responds to reviews; do you have gluten free options and/or dishes that are naturally gluten free? This would be an amazing thing for a Chinese place near me to be gluten free.

This is by far one of the best Chinese cuisine I've had. Their portions are family size and they are not kidding. Also their seafood dishes are out of this world. DO NOT TRY THE SEAFOOD IF YOU ARE SQUEAMISH. This is authentic flavor cooked the traditional way. Definitely my favorite to return and repeat order.

Best Chinese food I ever had! Wonderful atmosphere. Super staff and service. Saw a field mouse on my way out. Restaurant was clean as far as I could see. Hopefully the mouse was due to an open door and a result from a storm outside. I'd still go back.

Really enjoyed the food and service! Out of the General Tso's chicken, orange beef, chicken fried rice, and the fried duck, we enjoyed the orange beef the most! Definitely family sized portions which can easily be shared. The wonton soup alone is about 6 servings worth. Will be going back again for sure.

This is my new favorite restaurant. In my opinion, this food is far better than the other local competitors. My favorites are the shredded pork, garlic and chicken and garlic sauce and General Tso (and Hot/Sour Soup). All are delicious.

We were a family of 10 & the service was excellent. Everyone ordered a different dish to share & everything was delicious. A couple of our favorites were The Lion Head (Chinese Meatball with a cooked egg yoke in the middle) & Shredded Sesame Beef. Beautifully decorated new restaurant that will do very well. Peter & his wife have opened a gem.

The fresco Martini is my favorite and hands down the best cocktail I've ever had at a restaurant. I am also a huge fan of the soup dumplings, so delicate and flavorful. Rice cooked beautifully and the toasted sesame seeds are nice. So happy to have this place in Clifton Park!!
