My son had to be intubated that was very hard to see but they was so supportive they make it easy for me to get through it. May God bless all of you at this hospital.

I don't know who does the hiring at this hospital but everyone, I mean every single person- nurse, security guard and janitor - were the sweetest most caring people. The. Best. Staff. Less importantly but worth mentioning the rooms were actually comfortable.

My daughter had fever for the past 48 hours and body aches. The registration process was very fast. Waited one hour before a resident came into the room. Informed the resident that my son was positive for flu, type A on Tuesday.
Resident states that they don't have the flu swab here. Stating that since my daughter has no past medical history, there is nothing to do.
Unbelievable
Should've went to PCP later in the morning instead of coming here at 5 a.m to be informed that they can not do any testing.
Many children & adults have died from the flu. What I needed was confirmation. Very surprised that swab testing for the flu is not available.
I wish I would've known that in the very beginning before processing an ER visit through my commercial insurance & ER copay of $100. Where's the patient care??

I took my daughter in yesterday for an ultrasound for her head. The staff in all areas of the hospital were very nice and the procedure itself was smooth. The tech was awesome and made the whole process very easy. My only complaint is that the office was FILTHY! The waiting area was disgusting and the bathroom was awful. There was blood on the toilet seat and on the towel dispenser. This is a hospital for children. Many children who have compromised immune systems to begin with. The staff wear masks, and yet the very areas they work in are disgusting. I had an overall positive experience here, but the cleanliness, or lack thereof, is something that is sticking with me most.

I was there last Wednesday. My three month old son had a fever of 105. The poor kid was steaming hot and screaming in pain. I was about to give him Tylenol when I was stopped by the staff, they said they will administer their own. 40mins went by,NO MEDS. At this point my son is bawling and so hot we had to cover him.in cold compresses. The poor baby was so uncomfortable. My husband and I was in tears. In walks miss so call attending TALIA BROOKS,NO BEDSIDE MANNERS WHATSOEVER. SHE has a mask on ,refers to my baby as a girl, has no clue about the case , was not brief by the resident or fellow. She tries talking over the screaming ,hot child. I said 40mins went by no meds.@105 enzymes start breaking down, she said she is not sure about that,go back to medical school you moron. The baby was on the verge of having a convulsion. He was so dehydrated from all that crying. This piece of filt stands there clueless arguing over my sick child. TALIA BROOKS IS THE WORST ATTENDING EVER. SHE NEEDS TO BE SUSPENDED. LIJ IS A GREAT FACILITY BUT WITH ATTENDINGS LIKE THAT, SHAME ON YOU.

Janine the nurse was professional as well as the fellow Diane and Resident Jai. BROOKS never came in our room again. Very disrespectful.

I hardly post any reivews but I had to this time. I told them my son had flu and blood coming out of his ears. I even told her there was something sticky on the thermometer when i out it out from his ear. The doctor looked at his ears real quick and said there's nothing. She said everything was normal for flu and said he probably scratched his own ear. Send him home after 2 minutes of seeing him. A day later I still saw blood coming out, this time from both ears. He even had a hard time hearing me unless I was up close. I trusted my gut and brought him to the pediatrician. Not to my surprised,he had an ear infection on top of the flu. The pediatrician said it was very obvious because it was all wet and pus inside the ear. If I didnt trust my gut and trusted the doctor at the hospital, he would be deaf by now. I do think I'll ever go back because this case shows howi nexperienced/unprofessional their doctors are for misdiagnosing such a simple case like this.

I thought this hospital was good. always put it on a pedal but today was my first real visit and it was worst experience with them. my son has an open wound on his forehead. and it's already 6 hours and no doctor yet. I understand it's busy but then hire staff to assist. Of course financially you can t afford because if the services being provide. At this point I would of just rather go to Jamaica Hospital .

my Son, 17 month old, went on Saturday 12/23/2017, he was crying and has a light Fever plus he was pulling on his left ear, went to this hospital, after 5 hrs of waiting / checking, the resident says; your son has nothing, just keep giving him Tylenol. we followed her instructions, but unfortunately, no improvements at all. my son was crying, non sleeping, so tired, we went to another pediatrician, close to our house, after checking on my son, they said he has an ear infection, plus he caught a virus, he prescribe an antivirus for him.after using amoxicillin antibiotic for 2 days, my son was fine and back to normal. Not recommended at all.

Still here after 3hrs with my 3 yo that's been sent here to get tested for appendicitis. Being new to the area and having no time to research ERs ( was told at the pediatrician to takim to the ER for testimg right away) I followed her recommendation to this hellish place. People that came after us have been in and out. I approached the front desk after 2:30 hrs asking politely for the estimated wait time, the triage nurse tells me that there's no way to tell how much longer it will be. Avoid this place like the plague unless you're coming in with an ambulance.

The nurse were terrible for once my daughter was a patient on this hospital, and one of the nurse over pressure my daughter hand when she had a sore from the IVs, when the nurse flushed so hard on her hand she begs to her to stop because it was hurting her but of course she so ignorant and heartless to listen to her. The doctors and nurse pull out the stickers out so hard without any spray nor giving a chance to pull slowly during when they going to xray her stomach and she felt traumatized and pain after that. This is not how the doctor and nurse should treat my daughter.

I think here at Cohen is one of the best children s hospital in queens!
Their service was precise and friendly, child was well taken care of. No wait time more than 5 minutes. Everything goes very fast and smooth, no need to wait .
Also, there weren t that many people around, it made me feel safer and calmer.
The doctors and the nurses were so nice that they even sang songs to calm the babies!
Thanks

My daughter was there for tubes in her ears and a tonsillectomy. The room was disgusting, there where hairs on the floor in the bathroom. We had a rodent In Our room and their solution was to give us a gift card for the coffee shop in the waiting room and a corporate letter of apology admitting they knew this problem existed. Even after complaints by me to be be moved right away they left us there for hours.
My infant daughter was roomed with an older child who had pizza delivered to them to eat because the hospital food was just awful. My daughter was on a soft diet due to her tonsillectomy and now my daughter was crying because she wanted the pizza. The evening nurse took an hour to get my daughters Motrin, clearly an issue since he was busy having loose conversation with the other nurses. I wish I could give negative stars on the rating. Not to mention they never did a vital, her pulse ox wasn t on her toe, and no one asked to even look in her throat or ears. What s the point

I can honestly say that the doctors that attended my daughter were god sent. We came in on 8/31/18 at 10 am due to my daughters uncontrollable crying from 2 am. Doctor David Teng, and his student Victoria ran all the test needed for my baby, unlike the other doctors that we had been to all week telling us she had nothing. She was thoroughly checked and we got to the source of her pain! They checked on her constantly and made sure that I was fine as well! Thank you so much doctor teng!! & Victoria (ER STUDENT) You re going to be an amazing doctor and the kids will surely love you Thank you so much from Hailey and I

This hospital is a dump, my daughter was sent there by her doctor we sat in the ER for 15 hours, before they told us what they think was wrong with her and that they are admitting her. The ER was not busy but the resident told her that it is the weekend and the attending do not like to be called in so it is taken them sometime to find a doctor. Not once did they ask us if we need a bottle of water or anything. I ask if they could transfer my daughter to Winthrop and the doctor got a nasty attitude saying Winthrop is not better than us we are the best children's hospital in the country and refuse to sign the transfer papers. We finally got to the room which was on the 3rd floor the closet doors are falling off the bathroom was dirty the hallway is dark and run down and just scary look like the hospital was not renovated since 1960 daughter did not want to stay in the room because she was scared. I ask if they could waive the $15 per day parking the nurse told me if I wanted I can circle around until I find parking on the street if I did not want to pay. The food was nasty. Now the treatment the nurses ask like they had no clue what was going on, one doctor told us the course of treatment then the next day another one came in with a different treatment so I told her about the last doctor's treatment course she was confused because he did not tell her that he was going to treat my doctor that way of course we took her out and went to Winthrop where my family was treated like HUMAN and my daughter was taken care of with the proper care and treatment. I HATE THAT HOSPITAL.

I would say one of the best hospitals. Although we had to wait a few hours in the ER, once admitted, the staff was very friendly and always asking if we needed anything else. This is our 5th day in the hospital and they always provided clear information and always helpful. They gave us a private room and always provided good food. This is the second time we are in this hospital and this is were my son was born.

My daughter was there when got sick and diagnosed with diabetes it's a great hospital but it just to far away and they to update their services to just two people can at a time. Because people have other children they have to bring with them to appointments. They don't aloud. Thats a good policy at all.

My daughter stayed one night in the ER Psych room. The nurse for the night was rude, careless. She was making fun with her coworker around 2am when patients like my daughter, who has sleeping problems, was trying to sleep.
As i told her about the noise, she sent me out of the room with the excuse that another patient was coming to share room with my daughter. Until 6am no patient arrived.
BTW the waiting time to access to ER room was 2 hours. Then 2 hours until doctor see her.

Most irresponsible hospital I ever visited
My 19 month baby had a hydrocele surgery and after surgery he had swelling on his scortum I requested for pediatric urologist for that but no doctor is available and I have to wait for 1.5 hours for doctor. It's very irresponsible behavior of hospital and my baby crying and crying because he wants to go home but no one is answering is this swelling is ok or not hopefully after waiting this much we get back to home from that irresponsible hospital

My child was in the NICU for a week longer than told for observation. I communicated this to the nurse practitioner and attending. They had total disregard for my opinion. They over doctor and drain insurance money. During discharge I saw she had diaper rash from the NICU not changing her diaper frequently and was told when going home to give her diaper rash cream.

This was our third Pediatric Surgery in Cohen's.

This was our third Pediatric Surgery in Cohen's.
Everyone from Surgeon Dr Lee Smith to anasthesiologist Dr Leederman, as well as all of the nurses, pre-op and post-op staff were incredible.

Everyone played their role with tremendous expertise and kindness. Allowing a fussy 3 yr old to wear his own clothing to the OR takes real confidence and empathy.

Extra special thanks to Cohen's for their child-life specialists who went the extra mile not once, but 2x to sit with my 3yr old and role play their way through the surgery with him before the surgery to ensure his utmost in comfort.
I couldn't believe they even gave him his own special scented oxygen mask with his choice of flavor (Chocolate) to bring to the OR!! Attention to every single detail!

I went last night to the kids urgent care and I didn t like it at all. The nurse was rude and was confused, including the doctor. I was trying to explain my daughter situation and the nurse look so confused that she didn t even know anything. She was so horrible. Regarding the doctor I wanted to explain my daughter situation and she told me no wait for me until I finish talking. I left the urgent care worry about my daughter because they say I think her heartbeat is better now. In another word, they were sure if my daughter had fever and the heartbeat was normal.

4 hours 22 minutes and counting to see a pediatric...

4 hours 22 minutes and counting to see a pediatric dentist with a 3 year olds tooth badly injured.
I could have driven literally anywhere else had they been upfront that they didn't have someone here when we checked in.
From what I can see the only thing done efficiently in this hospital is the billing.

Ongoing.....
5 hrs and counting
6hrs and counting
After 6hrs twenty minutes child was briefly looked at by resident who advised definitely needed to see the dentist. I said ok we will wait. We had arrived at the ER around 3.45pm and at midnight we had still not seen the dentist. 3 year old with one front tooth twisted at a 90 degree angle and another tooth loose, still bleeding from his gums was begging me to go home. I couldn't continue to wait they had already put several other patients in front of him. Incredibly frustrating and disappointing. If they had been honest about the wait time from the beginning I would not have put him through the wait. I could have driven him to another dentist as far as Connecticut if need be and still have had him taken care of faster.
To leave a 3 year old waiting over 8 hrs is a complete disgrace. How dare you. If you do not have the ability to help the people showing up at your ER then you should just be honest and say that. Thankfully we were able to bring him to his regular dentist first thing Monday morning.

I ESPECIALLY WANT TO THANK THE CHILD LIFE SPECIALIST JENNA FOR ALL HER HELP WITH MY DAUGHTER AND MAKING HER STAY COMFORTABLE AND ENTERTAINING. TO ALL THE NURSES ON THE FLOOR P3 AND PICU YOU ALL WERE AMAZING WITH MY DAUGHTER, ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO THANK DR.SARWAHI AND HIS TEAM FOR KEEPING MY BABY GIRL SAFE AND MAKING HER BETTER. Went here for my newborn s 1 week appointment, and accidentally left her Medicaid card there. Not a big deal, I get a call that they have the card and I can get it. I tried to call back that number, and it didn t go through. So today I called the number on google. The operator answered me, and I have never spoken to someone so rude in my life. I tried to explain I didn t remember exactly where the building is, that I went for a regular checkup for my newborn. She had a thick accent, I could barely understand her. She kept asking what building, and I repeated the same thing. She said so you went to the er? No, an appointment. Apparently couldn t realize I was talking about the division of general pediatrics. Which I found out after I searched my whole house to find the pamphlet with the correct phone number on it. Isn t the point of an operator to help transfer people to the correct department?? She just kept raising her voice at me, and kept trying to say I went to the er (no I didn t??). She got extremely angry, was almost yelling, and then just said Im not going to help you. Wait for a call back and hung up on me. Demeaning, rude, and unprofessional. I am actually in shock I was treated like that. I wish I had gotten her name.

This is the worst experience in ER. We were here at 9 pm. Waited till12:50am to actually see the doctor for the first time for my daughters head injury. Then the doctor was here for 15 minutes then she walked out. Now we are waiting again. And it's another 1 hr wait and more. At this efficiency, I wonder how do you keep your patients alive? It's called an emergency room for gods sake. Avoid at all cost!

This hospital couldn't of done a better job. I came here near January of 2016 and left March of 2016, that's 2 months that i lived in this hospital. I had a rare case of acute Pancreatitis. I was in pretty bad shape and spent of what i could remember at least 2 weeks in the ICU because i was on heavy pain medications due to the pain. After everything was under control like my breathing my BP and all of that i got moved into a regular room where I spent 4 weeks recovering, being on regular food being able to drink liquids all of that. I got released mid march but shortly after that maybe a day or 2 i was back in there because a cyst formed so I had 2 or 3 procedures so that way they can drain the cyst so then spent the last week or 2 making sure i was ready to go home for good and i was that was the last time I was in the hospital. This hospital saved me and i loved all the doctors and nurses i had to help me through it and no doubt i was 15 at the time so there were services to help me for the children like movies games therapy dog they were all a great help and the best part was they gave me my own private room for the last 2 weeks cause i have been there for so long so and had to deal with all the new borns in my room so this hospital is great and i would have no doubts going here

This is in regards to the slackness of the billing department at Cohens. My daughter was born on March 3rd and we had to take her to the ED for colic in a few days. I called the billing department and gave her insurance details. I was still receiving the bills so I called again to give insurance details and they told me that system automatically generates the bill and to ignore it. In a few months here we go again, I receive a notice from collection agency for Cohens. I called and I spoke to the manager. She was being rude and talking over me. She told me she will personally call me and let me know when the claims are sent to my insurance and the account is removed from collection.. no calls.. I called the manager again and she goes yes it was sent out.. not keeping up to the words... I don t know how people can be so slack and ignorant in their jobs... pathetic!!!!!

My daughter was treated there for asthma and pneumonia. The doctors and the nurses were absolutely wonderful. They took their time to make sure her lungs were functioning properly and that we understood all the medications and procedures they were doing. They didn't rush us out of there but made us feel very comfortable. It was clean and well lit and we were extremely pleased with the outcome. My daughter left feeling better than she had in years and was able to breathe so much easier...

Worst ER ever! Waited 4 hours to be seen by a doctor who couldn't even give us clear answer totally unqualified doctors run by young intern doctors. we were there around 8:30pm till 1:30 we struggled. What bothers me most is They only care about typing in all the info into the computer its all about what they are typing in making it look like they are actually doing something when in reality they have not helped ur child recover or diagnose the child in any shape of form. U will only be interviewed by countless nurses asking the same question what's wrong with the child for 4 hours or longer. We walked out at 2 AM after talking to a nurse Manager Jenny (south Asian) lady who kept explaining to me how they operate & argue. She lied saying there is 6 doctor in reality I think there were 1-2 doctors who was seeing over 20 patients at the same time!!! Obviously u ain't doing it right people are here with sick children. You are making us waste our time and money to be seen by a doctor who isn't professional or well qualified & NOT by nurses who is only filling up info into the computer! Seriously hire more doctors. the worst experience EVER!

My child (15 months old) was airlifted from Good Samaritan hospital to Cohen after they found a mass in his chest. My baby had a baseball sized tumor between his heart and lung, the large staff went to work the moment he got there to figure out what to do. Within 48 they operated and removed the tumor. 5 days later my son is home and well. I am so grateful to everyone at this hospital for saving my child's life and helping my wife and I through this nightmare. From the security in the front that helped us found him after the helicopter arrived to all the nurses in the picu who were just amazing to all the doctors and surgeons. My son is alive because of them.

Sidenote The only thing this hospital needs work on is parking, valet leaves cars everywhere and lost my car twice

I wish I could give them No Star at all! They are the worst hospital I ve ever been with my son. I don t recommend it to anybody. Your children can be dying and they still make you wait more than 5+ just to see a nurse and then go back and wait another 3 hours to luckily see a doctor. We left after waiting more than 5 hours after filling the paperwork and then wait another two hours and no calls to see the doctor. Some of the staff and the hospital is nice but the wait time to be an emergency children hospital it s not good at all.Avoid going there with your children because you are going to waste your time by waiting more than 6 hours just to wait to see a doctor. I hope this help so they can change the wait time and be more organized especially with children.

My daughter came to this hospital in a very critical state. They were rapid yet through in finding the cause of her ailment. The surgucal team did an amazing job. The medical team who aided the surgical team in my baby's recovery were awesome. The volunteers were super sweet. Even though I didn't want my baby to be in the hospital they made her stay a pleasant one
