Hey you can t go wrong, the water resort and the pool where excellent! But now on to the rooms... The bed was hard. I did like it tho. Now it was pretty messy (nasty)... my view From outside was bland. The freezer was not more than 3 inches . The food was alright. But there was better food down the street. The bathroom was the worst!. You know there was a whole pack of cockroaches in the bathroom because of how dirty the last clients where. At least CLEAN THE ROOMS. Oh you think I m gonna only day the bad things. WRONG! Although the pool was small it was a fun little thing to play in with your family/friends. They had 3 huge water slide. And you can also see Universal from aways. When your on the stairs to go on the slide. The water PARK is cool too. I m 11 years old. And I m not lying I absolutely hate it.

This place is just Amazing. Staff is awesome, friendly and very helpful. It was cheaper for me to rent a room for a day and enjoy the water park for 4 people, rather than paying 4 entrances for a water park around town. There is a bar with reasonable prices, a snack store with arcades, 2 pools and a water park with slides, i mean, what else can you ask for. Food can get delivered to the pool, so you will definitely have a great time here. Rooms are also very clean and accessible to stores around the area. Visiting from Denver, but for sure will come back to this place. Thanks
The room is disgusting. Mattresses had stains, doors to the bathroom wouldn't shut, room smelled like mold, water damage on the furniture. The cushions on the couch were dirty. We would nit stay there with our children. Not to mention the place reeked of marijuana.
If you are looking for a good family fun environment this place is PERFECT. The staff is fabulous even though they are stretched WAY too thin. We had a few mishaps and the manager accommodated my family for the inconveniences during our stay. We will absolutely return soon! Thank you for having such an excellent guest relations team! Please have realistic expectations when booking this hotel, the rooms are simple and perfect for wet children. Remember this is a waterpark hotel where children run and play. These rooms are NOT comfort driven however they are more then efficient for a cost effective fun family trip. Drinks are a little pricey at the poolside bar, my best advice is bring a cooler full of drinks and leave it in your room. There's a mini fridge with emphasis on the mini but you can rent a microwave for $10 a day. McDonald's is a few buildings down and so are IHOP and Dennys. This really is just a great spot!
It was NOT good we booked in advance asked for pool view we did not get It we were place at tgevend of this long dark hallway in a room with mold and mildew in the bathroom and rust on the lamp. We were told there were no more rooms available later after complaining about the mold and mildew we were moved to another room.
For the price its worth a half day and fun for most ages. If you consider yourself to be above blue collar establishments you should look elsewhere. Locker room amenities leave much to be desired. While I was there a child failed to resurface after going down the slide and the life guards jumped into action to pull her out ASAP, +1 for that.
Was raining when we checked in, so couldn't enjoy the Waterpark, the next day the same, so we didn't get to go to the Waterpark. TV and Internet down for the first 6-8 hours of our stay. Breakfast is disgusting at Tradewinds...you basically are paying for any other hotels free continental breakfast, but worse than that. Place needs serious renovations and cleaning. We were happy to leave, but didn't get any discounts for our un used Waterpark wrist bands, or any type of customer service period. The lady at the front desk when I called was talking down to me like how dare I ask for a refund for something we didn't use. Lol. Wow. Lesson learned. Never going back again
If you're expecting the Ritz Carlton you're not gonna get it. But if you want a nice clean room at a kick butt hotel and water park then this is for you. We are heading back in a week or so. The rooms are nice and the staff is friendly. For under $150 a night and the water park is included you can't beat it!
EDIT: Received an e-mail from the hotel asking how our stay was, and said to reply directly to the e-mail if there were any problems. Well, I did reply, and it immediately came back as undeliverable. So, in my search for a good e-mail address for them, I came across the Better Business Bureau page for this business, and it says they have so many complaints against them it is unreal. Consider that.
The check-in process was miserable and took almost an hour with tons of people waiting around in the lobby. It was not that they didn't have enough staff on hand, but every time they checked someone in that family was coming back up to the front with some kind of problem that needed to be resolved right away. I heard complaints of dirty rooms, room keys not working, and twice different families came back up and said the room they were given was already occupied when they got there (can you imagine walking in on someone). That did not give me a good feeling about the place and I hadn't even checked-in myself yet. We watched this go on for almost an hour.
Our check-in was fairly uneventful once our turn came, but our room was quite dirty as well. We had one of the more expensive rooms facing the pool. There was sand all over the floor and on the beds. The bed sheets had black marks (dirt) on them, which really stood out since the sheets were white. There was hair all over the tub and walls in the bathroom. Housekeeping made the beds each day and took out the trash but never cleaned the room in the five days we were there. Housekeeping left us no towels and no rags on two separate days and we had to call the front desk and ask for them.
The biggest problem was our room had no hot water in the room on two separate days. Both days we noticed it when we went to take showers in the morning, and they had to send someone from "engineering" out to figure out what was going on. The first time that happened it took them 45 minutes to figure it out. Needless to say we missed our shuttle to Universal that day. The second time it happened they had it fixed in 15 minutes.
This is not the most expensive place on the strip, but for what it costs, basic expectations should be met. I would say the hotel failed at meeting basic expectations. I could not recommend this place.
Couldn t get a key to the room , so if we wanted to get back in we have to ask them . Only 3 open and nothing that a family of four can do together . Can t leave your belongings at a table because you probably won t come back to them ! Horrible horrible place
I'm coming for my sons birthday which is on the 27th of November. Cannot wait Im bringing my 3 kids here we go have a awesome time. I did a tour and its just like a regular calm, joyful resort i'll be there in a couple days. On my tour the staff was amazing especially the owner cause he worked hard to get this resort looking clean and making it fun for us thanks. Im staying in the hotel also cause my son wanted to stay.
Well....we didn't see any roaches, but the room was not thoroughly cleaned..had someone else's used soap in the shower, large chocolate ice cream stain on the wall, and the room not cleaned until we called.
The pictures on the website are EXTREMELY old! There's faux wood flooring in the rooms. Be careful walking on them barefoot, as they are never mopped. In the rooms we had, some things had not been repaired.
As for the service, it was great. People are very very nice and accommodating.
The hotel is in a very good place, with much much nicer hotels within walking distance. I suggest staying at one of those and just utilizing the water park.
Contrary to what others have said about the diner, it was ok, but skip the breakfast. Not worth the price of admission.
I did not enjoy my stay at this resort. I had bugs in my hotel room when I checked in. The buffett was over priced for the food they served at the restaurant. The rooms were kind of nice but they had some cracked tiles in the bathroom, which is where I think the bugs got in from. Water park was okay overall. One of the slides was not working for some reason. Staff was friendly at check in.
We had sooo much fun! it was a little cold in january but the indoor water park was heated for my toddler and she did not want to leave! The hotel was soo close yo everything but especially international drive and icon park! we walked to some great restaurants and attractions!
Nasty. Dirty. Smells. Not even close to the pictures they advertise. We were so grossed out and disappointed......nothing on their website says anything about the park being only open on the weekends and or during certain temperatures.......needless to say it was so nasty we checked in and out within an hour. Now we see why it DOES mention on the website "No Refunds".......We ended up going 5 mins down the street to the Sheraton Vistana Villages Resort Villas for literally $20 more and there was NO comparison. Complete Paradise 5 stars+. I wish I could attached photos, but all we can say is stay away.
Pools are nice and location is good, but there was bed bugs in our bed and bugs on the floor. TV didn t work for us for when we were unwinding at night. Our check in time was 4, but they just kept saying your room isn t ready until about 6 so it messed with our first day plans as well. The fitness center pictures are outdated as well. If you re coming for the water park it s worth it, but as far as staying here, I d try somewhere else.
Love the fact that it's a resort Water Park. Too many people too soon, over all met nice folks. So close to other attractions. In walking distance to good and much more.
This place is fantastic specially if you have small kids. Everything is very clean. They have great food, reasonably priced and the entrance price is also very reasonable. You can buy a ticket just for the water park. The pool has a shaded area which is great in the summer.
I came to spend the day at the water park with my son. It was great for him. The bar and food service is lacking though. There was only one bartender on duty and it took almost 20 minutes to get a drink and inside when it was time to order food, it was a little unorganized. Overall, it's an ok place for a local to have a day at an inexpensive water place for the kids.
I love this place. I always have a great time. The rooms get better and better every time that we go there. They are always improving and adding new things. The slides are freaking awesome. The kiddie pool is freaking awesome. You can't lose with this place. It's got a tiki bar next to the kids pool lol sounds kind of funny saying that now but get yourself a drink folks! The breakfast buffet is good. I have food you're even have to go anywhere. My go to... I have stayed there so many times.
The water park is good but they have to do a better job with doors they were broken my mom had to go downstairs 5 times to get a new key and we got our room 3 hours later also when I went to sleep the light was broken and if you turn it off the power will go out the shower was also broken and made an annoying noise.
The coco key hotel and water restort is a basic hotel, after an initial problem with our room that was damp, we were moved to a nicer room no problem. The staff have been very friendly and helpful, unfortunately the water park has been closed during our stay.
A 90s chic hotel. At first we had a room, which was really musty, the couch was unusable because very dirty, beetles had rented itself ... then we got a new room, which was OK. There are many attractions in the vicinity, Universal Studios Orlando is just around the corner. Next time I would take another hotel.
This hotel was great, the room was clean and spacious and cleaning services did a great job cleaning & organizing the room after us. The best part of this hotel is the water park. We had so much fun, the kids loved it. It has 3 pools, two for bigger kids/adults (one with a big slide) and the other pool is for smaller kids and has 4 slides that go into the pool. Super super fun, it also has 2 bars and a restaurant. Considering coming back for whenever I go on vacation to Orlando again.
It s a great place to visit, the Waterpark is very nice, the kids had a wonderful time, but the rooms are not so great the beds were uncomfortable, there was no microwave in the room And the room we stayed in had a closed in like smell. It s really a nice place to visit just make sure you have a nice room. We had poolside rooms. The kids will love the waterslides. Also the staff are really nice.
We were really excited to stay at this hotel when we booked, the pictures look wonderful. However Upton a rival the hotels isn't as nice as it looks. The rooms are older and are need of renovation, and the bedding was terrible hard pillows and the sheets don't stay on. We stayed in a pool side room and although it's close to the pool the music was so loud is was like you were still pool side in your room. They also have extra fees upon arrival resort fee and parking fees, also if you want to participate in an activity plan on spending $5 per kid. The water park was fun however Make sure you bring your own towel, the first day of our stay they ran out then when we got a towel I was surprised to see how small it was, it was more like a hand towel. BRING YOUR OWN TOWELS!!!
The hotel rooms were great. The pool was not so great. It was under construction. Not what I was expecting. I chose this place just for the water park they offered.
Avoid this hotel. We arrived to find a room with an overwhelming smell of chlorine, two bath towels for a party of four, a pull out sofa with no bedding, dirty wet carpeting, and mold on the ceiling. There was no soap in the bathroom and the shower didn t drain so you were ankle deep in dirty water by the end of your shower. Attempts to rectify the situation were met with destain and annoyance. I will never stay here again.
Coco Key was the perfect place to stay for a more budget minded individual. The rooms were clean, nicely decorated, the service was adequate. Air conditioning worked. Did not smell moldy. Shower was adequate, water temp and pressure was fine. The towels were very very thin though. TVs were flat screens with good channels. There is a safe and mini fridge in the room. Bed and pillows were comfortable. I did not get to utilize the pool but it was open late and had a bar and hot tub. The benefit to this property is it's within walking or stumbling distance of a lot of Orlando entertainment, and a very short drive to Universal. It's a bit longer to Disney so Lyfts were about $20 a ride whereas Universal was $7-14. Overall I enjoyed it, and would stay again.
Groupon deal was nice. Hotel pool i and hot tub are pretty small, so get pretty packed. Kids like the water slides, provided quite a bit of entertainment and the lines moved pretty quickly.
This places customer service was horrible. We stayed 3 nights amd on the first night our toilet started leaking. I called the front desk 5 times and no one answered. I walked to the lobby to let them know what was going on and they acted like they could care less. So I got some extra towels and just placed them around the bottom of the toilet. If it wasn't for my kids loving the water park we would have left the first night. Not once did they check on the issue or offer to move us out of the room into a new one. The a/c unit worked when it wanted too and you couldn't see the screen to turn it up or down. I would highly recommend avoiding this place. I would have been better of finding a cheap motel and just going to the water park and paying $10 per person to have a good time.
Totally upset and disappointed. Their information is very misleading. We stayed there because we were told that the shuttle service ran all day to Universal Studios and was complimentary. So frustrating- it s free but you have to book over twenty four hours in advance and so when we got there for our three day trip, the first two days were sold out. The hotel doesn t even have anything to do with it. The man told my husband there wasn t enough demand that day so they shut the shuttle down. Then he went to the car and got me, I was told it was sold out. We wouldn t have stayed there because our option was to walk, Uber or taxi or pay the $20 for parking. The lady on the phone was rude and apparently the man who took our reservations doesn t know anything about the resort. We were told it was a 1/4 walk, took us two hours and in 90 degree heat because our google directions for universal theme park took us to their business district. The lady this at the front desk and she did not even offer to give us walking directions . She said it s not far I drive it every day how are we supposed to know we live in Illinois .
The hidden fees upon check in were the first nasty surprise the second was the $50 deposit. The hotel room we were given didn't have the role in shower we requested after a complaint we were moved to a room with a broken shower. The bathroom floor is uneven for no reason and is a real trip hazard. The rooms are very shabby and need of maintenance, there is paint hanging off of the ceiling and the light switch doesn't work. The pool out side the room has loud music playing until midnight so it makes sleep difficult. The water park is only for children and is 3ft deep. There is a large arcade for the kids next to the water park. The staff are rood and don't want to help and we have been made to feel really unwelcome. I will never come here again!
Can can get good prices for the daily water park through Groupon. Kids really enjoyed it and had a fun atmosphere with music and large tiki bar for adults. Part of the pool area is shaded by roof which is nice when you need to get a break from the heat and sun. Couldn't find lockers to use though and parts of the water park close down intermittently, which is a little confusing but overall, really liked the water park.
Simple hotel, but cozy. Large room with air conditioning, minibar, safe, table, chest of drawers. The water park very nice too. The tallest water slide is fantastic. Close to the Florida Mall, Walmart, Ross Less for Dress, Outlet Premium. The only thing I do not recommend is eh having breakfast there, eh very expensive. On the other hand, there is a Dunkin Donuts shop that can walk quietly and buy breakfast there, or bring it to the hotel.
I wish I knew how to start with this place. I booked and paid online. There is a hotel fee associated that is paid at the hotel apon arrival which you are told the amount of when you book. Mine was 98. At arrival I was charged 120. That is after I had to haggle with them to drop the daily parking fee (10 a day) that I didn't need and wasn't informed of, because we were not parking a vehicle there. They said they would take off the fee but "not to say anything because they can get in trouble". Now, there is no microwave in the rooms. There is no sofa bed in the rooms. You cannot go to the front desk and ask for items to be replenished in your room. They do not prove them apon request. They put in an order and someone eventually delivers them to your room. They say that every 5 consecutive days of your stay the staff has to fix up the room but they were there every day when we came back. I asked for our room to not be disturbed and it continued every day. This did not let us feel we could leave our stuff safely in the room. They offer a room safe, but when I opened it the first day the door swung open and the duct tape fell off the back and the batteries for the safe came rolling out. They do not offer airport shuttle. They have a timeshare booth set up at the front door with guys harassing you to take a 90min tour to get discount tickets for the surrounding parks. Please do not do this. Look for cheap tickets online before you go. They are fast talkers so be careful. When we first entered the room the toilet would not flush. The container that holds the box of tissue in the bathroom had been filled with water and was a sloppy mess leaking all over the sink. Only one ice machine worked and it happened to be on the other side of the resort. Vending machines, which are not all where they say, are not replenished. The kids did enjoy the water slides but there are only like 4 actual slides. There are some for the tiny tot play area but that doesn't count and those were mostly not running. The water park portion closes at 7pm. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Outdoor pool stays open until 10pm. My kids lost more than half the money they brought for the arcade because the games did not work and are not marked as out of order. They do not refund any money from anything at the arcade. I even lost money in one machine to load money on the game card. No life guards at the outdoor pool. 3 at the water park. Nothing is like they say or the pictures they offer. While talking to other guests I was informed that the front door staff had called people to tell them they had to pay additional resort fees because the hotel was changing owners and they require their own fees aside from what you already paid. Lucky for me I was leaving the next day.
Went to water park only: Great value for the daily fee. Clean facility with vary friendly staff. Lots of life guards. A modest array of slides and water features.
If I could give this resort a zero I would. We arrived in Orlando and went straight to Universal studios, after a wonderful day we called the hotel and asked what times the shuttles showed up and where. We were told the next shuttle was at 8 pm . We and other patrons of the hotel waited for the shuttle over an hour, as my 8 year old had to use the bathroom but we re afraid we were going to miss the shuttle if it actually came. Needless to say the shuttle never showed so we grabbed a taxi. The hotel is 2 miles from the park this was unacceptable. While checking in we asked the check in attendant what time the resort restaurants were open until, he stated 10 pm. After we dropped bags in the room we went to the restaurants ALL of them were CLOSED including the on site convenience store and the resort bars. After my husband went to the front desk and spoke to the manager she was very apologetic and gave us vouchers towards free cocktails, ice cream, and breakfast. Tried to use their hotel bar again this time at noon and they were closed. I asked the water park attendant if there was another bar she said at the front pool I walked all the way to the front and this bar was completely empty and closed. I walked into the front desk and asked what time they would open the bar he stated 2 pm. I gave back my vouchers as we would be leaving before that they were useless. Walked all the way back to the water park and the damn bar was open. The lack of knowledge and communication from the employees here is outstanding! The room was run down, towels were scratchy, wardrobe smelled like feet and onions, tv barely worked and there s only 10 channels, one side of the room smelled like sewer, the WiFi is practically non-existent and slow. Honestly, for paying 250$+ per night this resort is a HUGE waste of money! Save it and book somewhere else.
I have to say....I was pretty nervous after all the reviews I read about this resort. HOWEVER... After our first day here...I'm am so happy we came...my daughters are having the time of their life!!! Everyone is super friendly from the front desk to the cleaning ladies. So excited for our next two days!! Word of advice for others reading the horrible reviews....they aren't true. This is an awesome place for the family. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
The water park is fun. Nothing different about the rooms just like a regular motel 8. The toilet was always clogged and room service takes forever just to bring towels or for anything.
The water park was so much fun! With our 2 nights stay, we were able to get our 4 free tickets to the park starting first thing in the morning before we checked into our room on day 1. The large shaded area was perfect for my baby and wife to hang out while me and my older son went and had a blast in the playground section. You've got to be 48" for the really big slides which was a bummer for my son but that's understandable. Our room was really nice too, it was recently renovated and we were very comfortable there. We can't wait to go back!
We visited 1 year ago today. We found this hotel on groupon & thought WOW due to the photos. We traveled here & saw that this hotel was obviously an older hotel with a fresh coat of paint. Well, the lobby was nice & check in was quick, very informative friendly. Our room was exactly what we reserved & the beds & bedding were clean & comfortable. As I stated before, a bit outdated. We found a empty soda can under the ac unit in the room & it needed vacuuming. You can clearly hear noise in other rooms on adjacent sides. Regardless, our stay was comfortable & the kids enjoyed it. The waterpark was really big & fun! There was a store on the property, arcade & another pool with a bar. The location of this hotel is walking distance to so many restaurants, stores & other fun activities like golf, go carts, ferris wheel, souvenir shops, lots of other hotels...total tourist area! Fast forward a year ago to today, we're back in town without kids & stayed in a more "adult" hotel. We passed by CoCo Key Hotel & it has been updated nicely!! We drove thru & some windows were open to some empty rooms & they looked so much better!!! So now we're definitely thinking of booking again here for our next family trip for the kids! Old hotel, nicely updated!
This was the WORST EXPERIENCE ever. I paid over $500 for two rooms. Called the hotel an hour prior to arrival because my son arrived before me and one of the rooms was for him. Upon arrival, I wasn't impressed with the appearance. When I got to the counter, I told the clerk I had reservations and it took him several minutes to respond. I couldn't help noticing he looked very puzzled. Finally he responded "we don't have a room available for you. I can see that you paid for two rooms but unfortunately we just don't any more rooms." I was furious. I asked to speak with the manager, she came out and confirmed what the clerk said. After arguing my point, I ended up leaving and had to find lodging elsewhere. Meanwhile, I have to wait 5-7 days for my refund. I'd like to give them a negative one star rating but that option wasn't available to me.
There was another family that was issued the same keys for our room. We had them walk into our room when we were there. Our keys did not work after that. Be sure to use the deadbolt as you don't know who they might give a key to your room.
This place came recommended by a friend who had stayed here before. We only booked two nights, and maybe it was because we'd come here from a Universal resort for a work function, but there is a lot to be desired.
To start with positive, the pool area is nice, and the water park looks fun. We'll be trying that tomorrow. The breakfast buffet is pretty pricey, but there's so much around in walking distance, food here isn't really an issue. The room feels basically clean, and the complimentary items are good. We really appreciated the laundry facilities.
When we arrived we were greeted with an extra $45 or so per night "resort fee" that I hadn't anticipated. You'll also notice that the weekend rate is twice the weekday rate. The $65 you see are only for weekday deals, I'm sure. We haven't seen live bugs inside, but I did notice my kids' feet were dirty from the carpet. The place is pretty dated, but the fixtures are newish. The lamp shades are super dusty and one is cracked.
If you're only going to sleep here, check for a less expensive option. If you'd like a nice resort to stay at, find a fancier option. If you're looking for a good location to the parks plus something to do if you stay in, and you're on a budget, this isn't a bad option.
The staff was top notch Front desk: Julie, Gabriel, Jarvon and Izlaine accommodated us beyond measure for my sons birthday. In the breakfast buffet Antoinette, Ruth and a short black haired hispanic lovely lady were amazing as well! The waterpark was oustanding. The room was comfy and clean; could use air fresheners. But thats, it no complaints. We WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!
Where do I start ! This place is disgusting!!!! The room smells horriable The furniture looks old and dirty. My bed frame had some type of residue left behind and I killed two roaches. The tv didn t work. Oh and let me not forget I was charged an extra $200 for the water park and half of it was closed. I actually could not wait to get back home. Waste of money!!!! I wouldn t give it any stars.
Just got back from 2 weeks in Orlando. Holiday was fab had the best time. The Coco key hotel is a perfectly standard hotel, I particularly enjoyed the waterpark and pool especially as it's open until 10pm. The room was a good size however we had a double bed when we had book a twin room. This wasn't too much of an issue but there were just some things that made the stay uncomfortable. The air conditioning seems to have a life of its own and is so loud especially at night. On the last day (8/10/15) we went to universal studios and on return my phone charger was missing. I know exactly where I left it and although it's not really valuable it was an inconvenience as I had to go and buy a new one. I told reception staff whose attitude was appalling especially as I wasn't complaining and were unhelpful when I asked if there was a spare USB cable to charge my phone. This unfortunately took the shine off what was a lovely holiday and the shuttle service to universal and the other parks is fab. There is also a shuttle to Disney world for a fee of $15 return pp. The i ride trolley is also convenient. Beware of certain staff at the ticket stand opposite main reception who try and make out the only way to Disney world is via taxi as it 'takes 3 hours on the bus'. This is not the case at all. So overall a lovely stay but just beware to lock up any valuables as if things do go missing you are pretty much on your own as far as the staff are concerned which just let the hotel down for me. The maintenance guy on the other hand responds promptly to any problems and is very courteous.
