Great place to stay for vacation or weekend. Fun Waterpark within the Hotel.
Great place to stay for vacation or weekend. Fun Waterpark within the Hotel.
Not a bad place to stay other then the computers being down at check in the stay was nice. The waterpark is decent and has long hours. Rooms were ok nothing fancy but clean.
I only gave a 1 star because I had to, to write a review. I checked into this place in November of 2017. At first I thought everything was fine. People seemed friendly, place was dated, but seemed clean, until bedtime... Then I woke the next morning and realized that this place had bed bugs. She offered to put us in another room, but I was afraid it would re-occur, so we checked out early. The only thing they would refund us was the $52 resort fee as I had booked this in advance. I am very bothered by this and have yet to receive an email from them. Just giving you heads up as you will not get your money back if you leave early because of the bed bugs.

Great staff location water park for the kids and the food was delicious
Place is a hell hole. Would give it zero stars if possible. Pool is disgusting, no life guard in attendance and pool is poorly lit. Water Park is a joke. Only enough water to power one half of the park at a time. Bar service is a joke. No security as public can access hotel from several points around the hotel. Hotel is split into a main building and outer perimeter. Outer perimeter is like guatamoma bay and inner building isn't any better. Outer perimeter rooms stink of damp, have temperamental WiFi and face onto parking lot. I heard altercations outside my room, not safe at all. Staff are very scarce and not very friendly. Wouldn't recommend this place.
Ozzie was very helpful and courteous upon check in. First time here, we will see how it goes. The hotel seems nice, some minor issues with upkeep. Very upset that there is no microwave and a very small run down fridge.
Very disappointed. This facility is great for families with young kids, if it was just not worn out. It has seen its better days, and now needs a major renovation. I do not plan a return.
Awesome hotel! Love coming here and spending the weekend while in Orlando. Not far away from Universal and Sea World either.
Newly renovated. Always a pleasure to come to coco key!
Had a blast! My niece loved it went there for here birthday. It's good fun for the whole family regardless of age.
Clean, simple room, to enjoy. We did the family room so it gave us the room we needed to expand. The real enjoyment is the water park. Well work the money and time. Can't wait to take my family back. Only problem was no blow dryer, no microwave and needed different seating arrangement besides a 1 ottoman
Water park is nice and plenty of parking. The rooms are ok. Have to request room service, no microwave and a midget fridge. For nights and parking was an extra $190. Didn t feel like I got my money s worth
Rude staff... Not the welcome feeling my family expected. They treated us as we were always bothering. Found 2 roaches in our room, and moldy smell, it was disgusting we will NEVER waste our money at coco key again.
Very nice place. The rooms could use some updating but all in all nice place. The water park in awesome for being at a hotel. There is another pool that is outside and it's heated. I recommend doing a time share tour to get the best rates. I got a decent rate online but heard the staff tell someone about the time share tour rate. Much cheaper.
Don't even deserve one star. Horrible experience, we were charged another price and when asking questions front desk people stated you must pay property tax and real estate taxes. Huh!! Funny isn't it? As we arrived late and we were very tired we chose not to arguing, we simply heading to our room and when opening the door we got a warm welcome from a roach and I decided to call front desk... No answer. We kept it cool . The next day around 5 pm housekeeping people came and I explained that to them, the next day when approaching the bed 2 roaches were seating in. I got all the pictures if needed because I knew we would get one of their own saying that wasn't a true statement. Again I did not say anything. we didn't want to mess up our vacation.
One day left let's hope we won't get any visitors..
Everything seemed to be ok until I went to the bathroom ... Bingo! Another roach flew on me.
I forgot to mention that these housekeeping people don't do nothing. Just adding 2 towels to our room everyday.
I absolutely do not recommend this hotel to anybody.
I believe if those who manage the hotel use to read these comments, people will never be complaining about the service and guess what when you think you lose 1 or 2 customer you actually lose a lot because people would be reporting you on facebook groups too, think about that.
Wait 30 min for early check in..then have to wait 30 min again to get room key. Place is great if they would just staff more than 2 people at check in. Asked for closest to water park and got 3rd furthest away..BUT the water park is great and mostly covered..and the covered part stays open when it rains and aren't as strict about lightening closing as the big water parks are
It was great! Fantastic room for the price especially. Water park hours are too short though
I d give a negative 5 star if I could. Complete waste of money. Dissatisfied and disappointed.
Our travel companion found this as a one night stay for our children to enjoy the water park before we headed to our cruise.
This was the worst traveling experience I have ever had. We arrived at 2 pm on a Sunday and was told that the water park would close at 5 pm. We were charged for the park. Our check out lasted 25 min as the woman checking us out didn t appear to know what was happening. Our travel companions were checked in in 5 min and had adjoining rooms which we could hear as they were checking in right next to us. The lady checking us in insisted that our room wasn t ready even though we were just told it wasn t. We had to call someone else over to clarify. At the end of check out she hadn t even given us our bands for the park, which we didn t realize until we were in our room, we tried to call the front desk but our phone didn t work, so our companions in the adjoining room called and they said to come back up and get them. After getting a 7 and 11 year old dressed and ready to head to the water park, we realized we didn t have bands. I went back to the front desk and as they gave them to me they told me that they closed the water park. I questioned this decision and they said it was because it was too cold, but that the pool out in the rain was open. They did not offer a refund and I was so taken aback that they didn t tell us when we checked in or on the phone. I went back to the room to let everyone else know. Our companion called the front desk to check on what was happening and to see if we would be refunded due to the fact that we just paid for something a half an hour prior that we couldn t even use. They offered us 50% saying that was the best they could do.
As an alternative, we took the children to the arcade. The arcade had half of the games out of order and the carpet was soaking wet. Very disappointing.
Neither bar was open. And believe me after all of this they could have had all of our money in drinks to forget about what an awful time we were having.
The rooms. Yuck. The fridge was leaking. The lock on the door broken. There was a half used body wash in the shower, leading us to believe it was not cleaned properly. There was nowhere to hang wet clothing. The sheets aren t actual sheets, but cut up white material that doesn t fit the bed. The clock wasn t set or working. Rooms smelled like mold. No comforters on the beds.
Complete disappoint for a one night stay, but so glad we didn t have to be there any longer than that.
Don't waste your time. After waiting 3 hours my room still was not available. The old saying you get what you pay for. Spend your money somewhere where it pays for quality service and professionalism.
Overall a great place, not far from Disney. The kids had fun. The hotel staff tried their best to please us and Lord knows I could be difficult.
Worst hotel stay ever... upon arrival hidden fees was presented for each of the two rooms we had already paid for a week in advance.. after entering our rooms one had no tv so they waved some fees for that room and the other room tv didn't work they had to bring another tv... hotel has no wifi doesn't work ... the A/C made this loud noise all night while running, then the next morning we had to call maintenance again because the shower was not working and then after they turned it on and left the shower water did finally got hot ...oh yea the microwave & the fridge was unplugged and no where to plug it without an extended core... a hot mess!!!!! Looks good online and children friendly... but a total mess...
I booked a weekend getaway with my 10 year old son (on Groupon)since I'd purchased tickets to Disney World. We're from Houston and were both 1st timers to Orlando. The mini vaca was amazing! The hotel exterior looks a bit outdated, but the room was pleasant and the water park was beyond superb. I'd definitely book another stay, but for a longer time frame.
Awesome little water park. There is a kiddie pool. Regular pool. Several slides. Splash Adventure area. Great for early teens and families. Older kids may get bored faster as there are only around 4 slides for older ages.
Wonderful place nice to hang out at and stay for vacation
Our stay was ok the floors are real dirty and the pool at night time did not social distance at all it was easily over 50 people at small people one night but it s a good location real close to icon park wouldn t really recommend it but the location is great and many food places nearby.
Was a nice place for the money. Will definitely be back.
Very nice room and comfortable however it was way to loud late into night and felt unsafe. Staff was nice and friendly.
It was way to crowded for us. Pool area was overpacked and unsafe. The kid area was even worse. Way to many people in close proximity. To many reckless individuals walking around. Parking is awful.
On a better note there is plenty of things to do in the area. Staff was friendly and following safety precautions. They can't be held accountable for people's lack of responsibility. With half the capacity of what we saw this place would be great.
I would have to say that this resort is a really good place to take a family. They have an amazing water area for the toddlers and even the older kids.
The pool is maintained cleaned and there are lifeguards available. The water for the toddlers was heated up for them as well.
The pool even has a really cool slide just for little toddlers as well as one for the older kids.
The room where we stood at was great! Beds were a bit stiff but it wasn't as bad. I had no problem while being there. The staff was very helpful and kind.
The only cons I have was the price on the food in the restaurant. It was extremely pricey and parking availability at night time. One has to drive so far from ones room in the dark. Also the rooms look a bit old from the outside but the rooms in the inside are fine. And lastly no microwaves are in the rooms but I understand maybe they are trying to avoid maybe bug issues.
Other than that I would definitely come back in the future.
Wife and I had a great time. Axel at the front desk was a big help and very friendly. Will be looking forward to going back in the near future.
i love this place it great for the kids... also they have alot of stuff around the resort like the titanic museum, the dinosaur exhibit amd an amusement park right across the street from pizza hut
Room was clean but day 2, housekeeping did not remove trash or leave clean wash cloths. Parts of water park were closed. Stayed there for water park. Breakfast @ $14 for most part was cold. Not very good.
The 1 king bedrooms by the water park were small and needed a renovation. The rooms seem really run down, and the rooms were very dark. I was disappointed in the hours the water park was open. Opened too late 11 am and shut down by 8 pm. I really also expected longer hours for nee year's Eve. The resort needs to hire more staff especially waitstaff.
My 6yr old had a great time the water park was awesome and very kid friendly
Wasn't entirely pleased with the whole stay. First they gave someone else our room after we had already been in that room for a few hours so it wasn't cool to have someone you dont know coming in your room when uninvited or unannounced while your laying there in pajamas. Then after that our keys got deactivated due to the issue above. Next we had 2 lights in our room on a desk with virtually no way of flipping the switch. After asking around maintenance wound up having to come in our room to physically unplug the lights since the wall switch was broken too. The rooms were okay for the price. Wasn't thrilled at the noise and the air conditioning didnt work as well as other hotels but it did its job enough so we could sleep. For a 2 queen size room I would have hoped to have more than 1 chair for the table but we managed. Over it was okay but the issues above hurt this score and possibly the chance to never return or recommend.
Very good place Full. Swimming pools. Coffee. Lunch..etc..all excellent
Rooms are decent over all. Many repairs have been made to fix cosmetic defects but you can see where there has been water damage and other issues. The reason I am only giving 2 stars is for the following issues...All of the ice machines had no ice the whole time we have been here, even the soda machine in the restaurant on the first night had no ice. The vending machines were mostly empty, but there was no way to get back money from the vending machine, so we were out several dollars throughout our time here. Additionally, the waterpark was closed due to frequent storms and a chemical issue in the little kid splash area and the tv cable kept going out. So not only could we not go in the water but couldn t even watch tv in the rooms.
It's not that bed but it's really stinks in room. Smells like old mushroom and cheese.
Had a great time this weekend for my sons 11th B-day. Hotel room is nice and clean can't complain on that, but OMG key didn't work to get in the rooms walked all the way down to the main desk to tell me to go back to the room and that they would send someone down that took forever! and PEOPLE that work at the hotel are so RUDE!!!!!!! They need to show this teenagers to be a little nicer to the customers. Other than that is a great place to go and enjoy time with the family.
I had the worst time they said they would charge me once but charged me three times and did not give me the money back
Terrible customer service, good cleanliness, the rooms all destroyed are falling down because we need an urgent renovation
This place was actually pretty amazing for the family. My nieces and nephew had a great time here and the staff also kept a good eye on the kids. I can't comment on the restaurant here because the I didn't have a chance to eat there. The two bars here were nice and lively though the bar by the standard pool kinda messed up the drinks, the bar by the resort was great, though. The room was nice and clean and had plenty of space for all of us. Honestly the only thing that bother me was that we couldn't use the pool earlier because of bad weather but there's nothing you can do about that.
I did read a lot of negative reviews but booked Coco Key anyways to try and am Very Glad we Did! We stayed February 9th to 16th 2019 and we're very pleased. Our room was ready, clean and comfortable. The resort had lots of greenery, was clean, always staff present and so much to do. The waterpark was clean, open even on rainy days, warm water as heated, amazing and tentative lifeguards my daughter and us as well really enjoyed it. Arcade was clean, 95% of games worked (every arcade has a few games down that is normal). Main pool was heated, clean, good size with lots of clean towels. Honestly, I can't say anything negative. In fact we intend to return February 2020 and often. Dunkin Donuts next door. Lots of parking. Friendly staff and a great location right on IDrive. Don't let the reviews push you away from this hidden gem <3 Thank You CoCo Key!
We booked the stay and play package. We got 2 free drink vouchers. We were told the bar was open until 11. My husband went there at 955 and it was closed. The walls are paper thin. The room was pretty nice. There was no water pressure coming out of the shower head. The people who brought things to your room, extra towels, baby crib, etc. were very prompt and inviting. Probably wouldnt stay here again.
When we arrived there was mass chaos because the room key machine was not working and people could not get into their rooms. The check in process was quite lengthy and an employee took me to my room right away even though my family was still in the car waiting for me to finish with the check in process. There is no AC in the elevators, even the employee was complaining about it, so we were all sweating by the time we reached my floor. An employee came by about 2 hours later with new room keys and none of them worked. About 30 minutes later he came back and 1 of 2 worked. In the room there was no information about WiFi nor any marketing material that showcased what there was to do on the property, what time things opened or what food was served and at what time. We had to call the front desk for ALL information. We went to the water park on Saturday and it kept closing due to weather (not their fault) so we went out and enjoyed iDrive. When we came back the park was opened again but closed shortly after due to the weather again. Sunday we went to the park and only the kids area was opened and none of the slides were open. While my kids were in line they completely shut down the kids area without warning and then opened the big kid slides. There were A LOT of families that were VERY upset! Their reasoning after talking to 3 different managers was that they were in the slow season and ONLY operate one area at a time. We asked if this information was on the website and they said it's not on the website. The water park was packed on Sunday just like it was on Saturday. Saturday everything was opened the entire time. However, Sunday it had magically switched to the slow season. We had a lot of issues here but our kids had a great time even though they kept getting disappointed due to their decisions.
Blankets had mold on them or some type of stain, paint peeling in the rooms, ac didnt work, 2 out of 3 card machine in arcade didnt work, atm didnt work, was told there was a shuttle to go to city walk(it never showed), housekeeping walked in at 9am when check out was 11am, checkin took forever and for some reason we did not have a room but we had a reservation, waaaaay to many people in the pool area, people were elbow to elbow...
I will say on a positive note the life guards were doing an amazing job. With that many people they really were sharp the entire time. The slides were neat too.
forever
Great place to stay nice water park and rooms are very nice. Love the new look and colors. Would rate 5 stars only if they can keep guest that don't belong and just roaming the parking lots of people just hanging out and using water park that do not belong.
Fun for kids.
Rooms could be cleaner
Without warning the only thing open at the water park was the 2 adult slides and a pool. The arcade sucked. Most of the games didnt work and the ones that did, were missing parts, pieces or had broken buttoms. For example the free throw basketball game had all the balls flat. Prizes were Dollar General worthy. Would not stay again. Better off staying at any hotel with a pool because that is about what we got. The breakfast buffet is what other hotels give for free.
5 Rooms weren't ready on time and sheets were itchy
Disappointed never had enough tubes.. room felt look dingy dirty..internet never worked... id stay at a different park next time for a few more $$
Cool and fun for thw kids. They definately enjoyed.2hrs tops they will be ready to leave
Bar prices are wayyy too high and it sucks. Bad service too. Very disappointed
A very good place for children and good the room the swimming pools and everything
The staff was amazing.... truly am amazing!! I can t express how wonderful and helpful the staff is.
The hotel is ok. Very outdated and only running half the slides at once and I understand some was Covid but no real restaurants or even a great bar with decent bar food (I m talking chips and hienz salsa for $10.00 and horrible horrible drink selection). The resort has amazing potential and close to the outlets, a few museums, and like 16 minutes from Disney but needs some updating.
The place was not really clean. Bathroom tap was leaking, the fridge needed defrosting badly!! The lady at the counter to purchase the tickets to Universal Studios/NASA fumbled a lot and gave me only 5 vouchers when I purchased 6 and told me to come back next day and whoever will be there will give me my last voucher. Didn t happen. The guy next day said he couldn t find any record she had sold me one less voucher.
That lady on the first day also pointed me to wrong part of the hotel for the shuttle and another guest had to correct her.
I won t be visiting this hotel again.
Hotel basic. Could smell marijuana from other rooms. Pool had open cans left from night before laying near hot tub. Arcade had many games not working, but not marked. Attendant was at lunch for an hour and there was no relief, so we couldn't redeem our 5000+ tickets for our son. You are charged $10 to park and a resort fee. Many places to eat around hotel, as well as on premises. You have to pay to eat breakfast. Water park was nice and lifeguards were amazing, double check they have water park open, as it is closed during week. Son still had a great time.
Ridiculous that you cannot being in outside food or drinks into the waterpark. I couldn't even bring juice into the waterpark for my 6 year old daughter. They make you buy the flat soda at the bar. Other than that it's a good place to bring the family.
I loved it!
It had all i needed!
NEW STUFF IN COCO KEY!
1. Larger Beds
2. Indoor & Outdoor Water Park
THE BEST THING IN COCO KEY! (sorry, only in Orlando,FL)
NEW RIDE!!!!!!! (I think it's called the Bumpy Lumpy Slide)!!!!!
Room cleanliness is terrible, there is no microwave, if you want you have to pay 10 dollars a day.
Rooms and small beds.
Will never stay here again. The water park was the only good thing about our experience. My son enjoyed the big slides a lot. Once back in the room, my son fell asleep in the other bed and I saw not 1, not 2, but 3 roaches crawling on my son's bed. As I was getting rid of those 3, I saw 1 crawling on my bed. Then I saw several crawling on the walls. I'm from FL and I get the fact that there may be bugs around, especially in the middle of August but I have stayed at plenty of other FL hotels during the summer and have never experienced a roach problem. This "motel" is very old and needs to be renovated. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but ended up staying at another hotel the 2nd night that was literally right down the street and we had no problems with roaches plus we got a free breakfast at the other hotel.
The rooms are a good size and the people there are nice too you
Excellent atmosphere and attention. Comfortable and clean rooms.
Rooms are just above motel quality but the water park was worth the visit.
Good facilities but part of the staff is unfriendly
The children enjoyed themselves and that's all that matters. However, I highly recommend that you ONLY stay when booking with a discount rate like I did through LivingSocial website. If I had paid regular price for this room (we got the Family Room for 8 people) I would have ask for my money back and stayed somewhere else.
1) Check-in is at 3pm we arrived after 4pm and only PART of the room was ready after driving over 7 hours And arriving after check-in time; they had more than enough time to have our room ready. The room was finally ready at 8pm!!!
2) No Wi-Fi. Been here 2 days and still no Wi-Fi! I did call the front desk and they stated that they would have security come check the Wi-Fi on the 2nd floor...well that turned out to be B.S.
3) Rooms are dated and as a professional cleaner...I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the room.
I was offered no incentives for my inconvenience. I wish I didn't drive this for for a less than mediocre experience. I would have given 2 stars but my four children rated them a 3.
The pictures makes it seem like it s a paradise hotel. It s more like a motel. Rooms smell like mildew and very humid inside. There was no bugs thankfully. Just the smell of the room threw the whole vibe off. Main slides were under construction. Staff was nice and we were able to check in early. It just wasn t what we expected accommodation wise. Wouldn t book again.
Must Read! Staff very helpful and hotel conveniently located, however the rooms are very small - not as large as advertised on website. Their water park was also closed for 4 of 5 days of our stay without informing us prior. They said we are responsible for knowing that info eventhough there's no mention of it on their website at all.
Ok tbh I didn't really have great expectations for this place. The only reason we booked was because of the price, location and water park. They say you get what you pay for and with this place we got that and a little bit more. The rooms were clean and spacious..loved the floors. The food was ok and a bit expensive for what you were getting. The location makes up for it tho.. right on I-Drive close to everything your heart desires. Chuck E Cheese across the road. Danny's just a short walk and the ABC Liquor store for all the parents. The building needed some tlc but they covered with paint and if you don't look too hard you won't see nothing. Water Park was ok as well. 3 sections with different things to do for different age groups. All in all the cost was worth the stay as well as including the water park passes. Will come back again this summer.
