Amazing food every time, fantastic atmosphere and a wonderful place to dine. So glad I could stop here on our way home(in another state). Highly recommended! Pictures of my delicious salad and the view from the restaurant.

Well executed American standards, wine and cocktails in a slightly upscale traditional space with nice views of the lake. Outdoor seating is great when there's something going on at the band stand for a little background entertainment. Good desert list.
The food was good, but not great. I had the grilled rockfish, which was cooked and seasoned nicely. However, the chorizo was rendered on the plate, leaving grease everywhere. My wife's burger was great, but she would have rather had the seafood linguini or the lamb chops had the server been able to tell us anything at all about either dish. Unfortunately, this server appeared ready to leave, didn't care about our experience, nor have any knowledge of the restaurant she was working in. I would have loved for a wine recommendation, but she couldn't tell me what kind of seafood was in the pasta dish, nor make any attempt to find out, so I didn't think she would even know what I was referring to. Sad that I picked this for our first wedding anniversary dinner. I'll stick with bistro aida from now on.
I went to Clyde's to apply for a bartending job, which they advertised on line. The manager who I had spoken with blew me off, despite the fact that I've been bartending for 25 years and had a resume for her to examine. I noticed that there was 1 minority, an African American woman, in the whole front of the house. Everyone else was Caucasian. The manager and her staff stared at me with disgruntled looks. It really made me feel uncomfortable and reminded me that we,minorities are still living in oppression! Prejudicenous and Biggetry are still very much alive. It's especially prevalent in fine dining. Perhaps they should advertise:Caucasian bartenders and servers wanted only! Product knowledge and experience have nothing to do with race ethnicity.
I think I caught this restaurant on a bad night. After spending $80, this experience did not sit right with me at all. I went to eat Friday night around 10. We were able to get seated quickly. Before we got seated, we went to the restrooms which were kind of tricky to find but they were clean. After sitting, we waited at least five minutes for our server. During that time, I switched my glass with a nearby table's as my glass was dirty. My silverware was not any better. It seemed we weren't a planned seating as our server rushed by us with full hands, telling us he would be right with us. Nate wasn't horrible but he was definitely "weeded" with his section which seemed ridiculously large. He had to have had at least five tables. I could literally see the stress on his face. He greeted us and got us some water. He took our drink order, asked me for my ID when ordering the Pear Sangria and said it would be right out. I received my drink, which was the best thing I had all night, but my friend never received his Sprite. He didn't get his Sprite even after we received our appetizer so I flagged down another server. The $3.59 ($3.69?) Sprite itself was somewhat flat but my friend said it was fine. The crab and artichoke dip was alright, it was room temperature though. I asked our server for more bread but we never received it. The dip got cold pretty quickly so we stopped eating it. Our server checked on us after we were already finished. An out-of-place moment was when a busser just randomly sat diagonally from us at an empty table around three other tables. Our appetizer and app plates weren't cleared until the food runner brought our entrees. My food was piping hot which was great. My friend's food was room temperature but the plate itself was hot so not so great. The entrees were alright, nothing amazing but maybe we just chose wrong. Nate checked on us after my friend was done with his food. He had been busy running back and forth between his tables. My friend did not really like his food and Nate offered to replace it with something else but my friend declined. We then asked for the check after he cleared the table. It took him 10-15 minutes to get our check so yikes. We watched him drop off drinks to a new table and walk the other way. Consolidation saves lives. I honestly think his section was too large for him to authentically dedicate his time evenly amongst his guests which sucks for him and the restaurant because I don't plan to ever come back. As we were leaving, he thanked us. I went to the host stand to ask about the manager on duty but the host was sitting at a table on her phone. Another host came along and I spoke to her. Shortly after, she joined the other girl and she was also on her phone. Needless to say, it was a bad experience so I hope my review can be used as a learning opportunity. The sangria was yummy. Happy Holidays.
Service was excellent. Food tasted great. Had gnocchi with mushroom as a starter. This was a hit. Then had steak bites which also tasted awesome. Food presentation was very appealing.
Great place for Sunday brunch and drinks. Place was fun and lively yet intimate and enjoyable. Staff was quick and pleasant. Restaurant was clean and upscale. Could only give 4 stars because it was really a bit over priced for brunch. But if you want to treat yo self - I recommend.
As always a great place with excellent service. A friend of us reserved a private room to celebrate his birthday. Wings were probably the best I ever had.
July 4th, Overcharged while at the restaurant, reported to the waiter and was fixed. On July 6th, I saw an overcharged on my credit card bill. Called Clyde spoke to manager, NO Apology. He said it will be processed by bookkeeping staff. I didn't get a call for any update. I called today and she said it is being processed. Service is very slow. It took 45 minutes to get our drinks on our table. Food is just okay not worth the price.
I will never ever go back to this Clyde in Columbia. Poor service and overcharged with no apology.
The food was good. The burger was great the tuna salad my son had was not so good. The service was okay. However we waited a very long time to be seated no one acknowledged us for 10 minutes. There were no other guests waiting. The chef actually came out of the kitchen and sat us really friendly guy. Once seated we waited 10 more minutes for someone to come over to say hello. The server was nice and was trying. I can appreciate that. I wouldn't mind giving them another shot but I don't highly recommend this place.
Loved everything about our meals and our waiter, Joe, was fantastic! Such a funny sweet man who knows everything about the food and is so attentive but also gave us space to enjoy ourselves.
This restaurant is great. We had a table by the window on the lake. Joe, our waiter, was excellent and attentive. The food was fantastic starting with the garden and Caesar salads. Our meals included the scallops, swordfish, filet and ravioli. Everything was superb! Highly recommend.
I have only been here once. For me 3 stars is good for a place that's quick, casual, and comfy and that's what CoC is. Nothing Top Chef but definitely a solid pick. They also have outdoor seating with a lakefront and bandstand view.
When I was here Friday, my guest and I were greeted and seated promptly. Today, a reservation is made, we walk in, but we're not greeted. Just told to "walk up." Its not my job to greet you, boo! 2 stars to start; we'll see how the rest of this meal/brunch for Father's Day goes.
They did not have nor offer a turkey sausage or veggie option with the brunch menus. Bummer
We waited at least 45min to an hour for our food, ONLY for it to come out wrong.
The baked cod doesn't looked like baked cod...and it was so small in portion!
I'm disappointed. Better luck next time, assuming there will be a next time.
Service was slow, not the waiters fault because they were short-handed that night. Food was lousy. Had the seafood medley, tomato sauce tasted like ketchup, would not waste my money.
Visited on a week night so there was no wait. Great ambience and service. Went for the crab cakes and was not disappointed :) Drinks were also great!! Fully enjoyable experience.
Stopped at Clyde's for a mini family reunion. The rest had been here before and I can see why they come back. The host and servers have to have been the most professional I have seen in a long time. The service equaled 5 star restaurants I have been to, everything delivered hot and as you would like it. If any question, it was taken away and a new one to your liking was returned. Customer was always right, no questions asked. That being said, the food was fantastic. Portions were great and cooked to order if possible to suit individual tastes. The only thing that could have made the day go better is the access from the parking lot for handicapped persons. The ramp for access to the lower level that the restaurant is on is a distance to walk.
Old Columbia standby that has several locations in the DC area. Typically less crowded than area chain restraunts and almost always better. Usually above average food, especially if you stick to the crab cakes or the monthly special, but I have had the occasional bad meal here. On the plus side, management has gone above and beyond when I made them aware of these instances. I'm sure I'll be back soon.
We did a function there so we had a small menu to order from. Though you can never go wrong with steak in my opinion.. the steak was amazingly done. The drink selection was large and they were well prepared. On top of the good food and drink the view overlooks a lake.
Love sitting at the bar - very friendly bartenders and always great food. They used to have a too good to be true happy hour, which they caught onto and upped the prices, but still highly recommend!
The food was great and staff friendly and largely professional. Seating arrangement were standard and did have a possible view of the nearby lake ( a nice view). Clean. Not too noisy Not too busy but certainly popular. They went over and above to work with my dietary restrictions and seemed fairly used to doing so. I highly recommend and hope to go back.
When I come to Columbia this is my go to. Always a consistent experience. View of the lake is nice. Food was wonderful as usual. The French onion soup was a little bland but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Server was very attractive and friendly.
Is a very nice place, I loved the style of the place. The service was awesome. I loved the shrimp with Siracha sauce and the Mediterranean dip trio. I tried the fig and arugula salad but the vinaigrette could be better.
We chose this place on a locals recommendation as we are from out of town and were looking for a mid-range dinner, something nice but not overly expensive.
The atmosphere is wonderful, by a very nice lake and almost every seat has a view. Clean, welcoming.
The service staff was polite, accomodating and prompt. There was an issue with my girlfriends ID, being out of state, they didn't allow her to order a drink, the only establishment on our entire stay in Baltimore (multiple restaurants, bars, and a music venue) despite her driver's license being valid and her being 24 years old. No clear reason as to why, just that they won't accept it. 5/10
I ordered the bloody Mary, which they claimed was made to order, it was bland despite ordering it 'spicy' and an overwhelming amount of cracked pepper making the last 30% of it undrinkable due to it all being in the bottom of the glass. The addition of some actual hot sauce, and some Worcestershire sauce would've sufficed. 2/10
For starters we ordered the beef carpaccio. Presentation was ok, however the beef was an unappetizing grey color, and hidden under way too much extras (arugula, capers, sauce, ect). The beef seemed more like a lunch meat in appearance. Despite this, the taste was actually quite fine, and the ceaser aioli was an interesting take on this dish. This is more of a salad than a traditional carpaccio. 7/10
We sat down at the tail end of the lunch service, so the dinner items weren't available just yet, however I had heard great things about the scallops and asked if they were able to make them, the waitress asked the chef, and the chef obliged my special request and oh man, these were the stars of the show! Amazing sear, perfectly cooked, sweet flavors. The puree that they sat upon was incredible, did not overpower the flavor at all. The touch of bacon lardons and the greens and potatoes along side were cooked to PERFECTION. I could've eaten three orders of this, my wallet be damned. 10/10
Next we shared an order of Maryland Crab Cakes, and they were everything as could be expected. Cooked perfectly, no overpowering seasonings, the crab shone through as it should. The French fries were blanched yet still fresh cut, making them this delicious hybrid fry that had crunch, fluffy centers, and a great taste. The accompanying slaw was dry, shredded greens with little to no flavor. They didn't get eaten, but they didn't add or take away from the dish at all. 9/10
For entrees I had the Rigatoni Bolognese, one of my favorite pasta dishes, and one that excites me when I see it on the menu. It's a creamy style Bolognese which is even better in my eyes. The presentation was nice, but the flavor was entirely and wholeheartedly boring. The meat sauce was hearty in it's composition, plenty of meat, however they only flavor present was cream. Despite being hot and fresh, the sauce didn't adhere to the Rigatoni, and left a bit of a puddle as you are the noodles. This could've HIGHLY benefitted from some sort of green addition, spinach, fresh basil, or something else, as would've something to kind of help the cream along, as wouldve a spoonful of pasta water in the sauce to help it bind to the noodles themselves. I was left wanting more, anything more, a small amount of red pepper, anything. The saving Grace was that after we had split so many plates as we were on a tasting mission, these made for great leftovers (I'm a weirdo who likes cold pasta from the fridge) and was much better later that day with the addition of some hot sauce, although I felt I was bastardizing the dish. 6/10
Finally, my girlfriend had the grilled chicken rice bowl. The chicken had an amazing smoky flavor, well apparent it was made in an actual grill, the portion was great, and everything in it was fresh and delicious. 8/10
Overall, stick to the FRESH seafood items.I would absolutely be back knowing what items to avoid and where their strong points are.
47/70 I'm giving the place 4 stars despite our experience this time being closer to a 3, only because we know what parts of the menu to watch!
Been coming to this location for years. A great spot to come before a Merriweather concert. There's a great selection of draft beer and the menu has something for everyone.
The food is fresh, local, and sooooo good! The menu changes frequently so always a variety. The staff are so friendly and extremely helpful/knowledgeable.
Great food, extremely accommodating. Took my wife's food allergies very seriously. Comped a glass of wine even though the spill was my fault. Try the spicy buttermilk fried chicken sandwich!
This restaurant is in an amazing location with great views and a wonderful atmosphere. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant itself is decorated with a lot of dark wood that makes it feel romantic and relaxed. I ordered the pumpkin ravioli and my wife ordered lobster. The ravioli was delicious and you can tell that the chef put a lot of time into making this seasonal special. I only got 5 ravioli though. The majority of my plate was onions. The lobster was also overcooked. It was a bit tough and rubbery. This would all be ok if I ignored the price, but a small entree for $16 doesn't suit me that well. If you can get over the small portions you will be very satisfied with Clyde's.
