Clyde's is a Columbia institution, with a great location, very good food, drinks and service. And after dinner, take a walk down by the lake.

Clyde's is a classy bar that serves food pretty late by Columbia standards. The food and bartenders are excellent.
Went for Sunday brunch with family. Everything was delicious, the service was good, and the decor relaxing. I wish I could get their chili recipe, it's amazing!
Lunch and dinner at Clydes are consistently very, very good. Meals are ample, well prepared and delicious. Service is excellent and wait staff truly accommodating. Cherie was our server today and was, as always, sweet, helpful and efficient. Clyde gets high praise from my husband and me.
Great atmosphere, service, and food. Portions are nice. Had the pork chop and it was excellent. Ribs looked good too, along with steak. Margarita was delicious. Wine list is very extensive and fairly priced. Really nice to sit outside on the patio. Make reservations if you're going for dinner.
Ambience and service superb. Warm bread and butter welcome. Prices on the high side.
A regular hangout. The food is always good. In August-early September, I recommend the BLT.
My food was excellent.
The server was friendly, and made good suggestions.
The sides were interchangeable, so I was able to customize my meal to my personal taste.
still one of my fav places. recommend to anyone. service. food. ambiance. all excellent
Wonderful food. Nice environment. Lovely views. Priced very well. Excellent service. Highly recommend.
I loved the pleasant staff, we went for lunch and found out they have a decent happy hour. The down side is you have to be at the bar or bar tables to partake in the happy hour prices. I had the grilled chicken sandwich, I really enjoyed it. What puts this place in the 5 star category is also the view and the decor. A great place for date night. I plan to go back to have dinner..... I can't wait to go.
Very nice atmosphere work good classic American style food options. The chocolate mousse is especially delicious, really chocolatey, and definitely worth a try!
Bad service, I was sick for a week. Don't ever go here.
Legendary. Clyde's still delivers great food and atmosphere. Sit outside!
Great service, comfortable environment for a business meeting.
My friend and I went there for dinner and the food was great. The server was nice and even attempted to kill a spider for us (we were seated outside). We ordered our appetizers and entrees at the same time, but I didn't think they would bring them out together. We had to rush through our appetizers so we could eat the now luke-warm shrimp and grits and caesar salad with salmon. I would go back, although I know next time to order appetizers first, wait awhile and then order the entrees.
Ordered double crabcake, calamari, blue bay mussels...etc. Crabcake size was too small, they looked like kids menu, had no taste. Other food portion was little also. Bread was good, but that was it. Restroom was too dirty, couldn't use it. Soooo disappointed.
REALLY good crab cakes and catfish. Very nice, pet friendly outdoor dining area.
Great atmosphere and perfect place for family connections
Usually love it..this last time though we were seated next to the waitress stand and had to hear them complaining about everything and the food took a long time to come out and was just ok...
One of my favorite places to eat. Food is always delicious and the menu is changed out regularly. A great selection of food! Service is great as well!
Friendly staff - prompt service - and great tasting food! Great a for a quick lunch meeting with business partners! And - Great views!
It is amazing... the crabs cream takes me to the sky... I really loved it ... I will back for sure
I'd give it 2.5 stars if I could. The food wasn't bad, but it left a lot to be desired. The N.Y. Strip that I ordered, while cooked perfectly, lacked seasoning. The waiter seemed new since he wasn't able to describe one of the dishes. I highly doubt that I'll return to this location
The location is beautiful. We like it much better than the Georgetown location.
Slow service. Food is much better at the Rockville Clyde's. The waitress wasn't helpful at all
Food not as good as before...crab cakes more filler than crab
Stopped in for lunch. Samantha at the bar was amazing. Her recommendations were spot on. I had the cream of crab soup and the crab cake. Both were delicious. Samantha was attentive, helpful, friendly, and on point! I will be back soon and often. Thank you Sam!
Food was great, service was outstanding. Will return for dinner in the Jazz room.
I have been a regular patron of your restaurant chain for many years with no incidents.
Based on my past experience, we decided to celebrate my sister s birthday on March 15, 2015 with a party of 20 people at your restaurant.
I was the first person of my party of 20 to arrive at the restaurant. Generally, they will not seat you until the entire party has arrived. That is not a problem. The first problem I encountered starts with the Caucasian manager (Richard/Robert) who introduces himself to me and my daughter with the following statement: "I understand that there is a request for separate checks. We have no problem with that as long as there is no seat hoping or musical chairs to confuse the waitress." I thought that was an odd statement to make but I said no problem, we got the bill covered. I was initially insulted as I felt that it was a scolding without cause.
Due to the poor service and improperly prepared food the birthday celebration was ruined. I was totally disappointed with the visit and I will not be returning to this location again. I expected more from a Clyde s Restaurant. It definitely lacked efficiency and exceptional service.

The food was very good, the service very good but the portions for the price was ridiculous. I ordered scallops and got four scallops and a tablespoon of zucchini and mushrooms. I easily could have eaten five of these meals and walked out barely full.
My husband's fish was great, I had a falabel burger is was ok. I thought the French fries were frozen think they should be fresh for the price of the meals.
Great place for al fresco dining in season, but the menu could do with an update. Nevertheless, they had a very good cheese platter with pecan-raisin toast and home-made pickled squash
We sat outside during happy hour with live music and the food was fanatic. The service was a bit slow, and we had to ask for refills several times. The music and view in the lake was great, I think we would return next time when it s less busy.
The food was poor in taste & quality. While the service was friendly and attentive it was very slow. My first and last experience.
Their was alot of people their for a Monday I think they just need more wait staff because we had to wait a long time to put in our drink order and food order. And the food was ok my wife's lobster was over cooked and my pasta was like soup.
Overall okay, large portions thou so if you eat at lot then you will be happy here.
We were a bit nervous trying this restaurant given the previous reviews. It appeared to be hit or miss, but we certainly visited on a great evening. Janine, our server, was very knowledgeable and spot on with her recommendations for both drinks and entrees. The rose sangria was fantastic. We had the salmon, the catfish, and the shrimp and grits, all of which were wonderful. This looks like it would be a great venue for an event or a reception. We plan on returning once the weather is better to sample the outdoor dragging.
We went here for dinner on a warm summer eveng. Its refreshing with the lake front views and live music. We ordered Chicken curry soup which almost tasted like the Indian chicken curry(medium spicy) and it was good and kind of full for me.
We also ordered Shrimp Grits and brick chicken, both tasted fresh and delicious. I definitely will have the brick chicken again. Loved this place
Peaceful but exciting . Lovely lake view. Excellent cheeseplate. Lots of vegetarian options.
Very good food, very good drinks but halfway through the meal they forgot about us. I guess we just became transparent. We really could have just got up and walked out at the end of our meal and I'm sure no one would have noticed. Very disappointing and I don't think we'll be returning there
Never disappointing. They are a brunch gem. Lakeside brunch done well. Outdoor seating too with a great staff
Nice setting, avg service, less than average food quality. Probably would go back for a happy hour, but not dinner.
Will miss this place. Had many an after-work happy hour there and great dinners. The staff was fun and professional. Again I will miss this place.
Clyde's is a Columbia mainstay. I've been coming here for a little over a decade with my family and have always enjoyed our meals here.
However, this time, my first time back in over a year, was not up to par. I have to preface this with the fact that our waitress was AMAZING. She was so patient and accommodating.
The food was another matter. For our appetizers we ordered the tuna ceviche and shrimp tare tare (or the tuna tare tare and shrimp ceviche)... doesn't matter. They were both too salty. The shrimp dish's sauce was sweet and sour chicken level thick and overpowering. The calamari was chewy and overdone on the inside.
I ordered the ribs as my entree and it came out overcooked. Burnt, dry, and chewy. I don't know how any chef would allow that to be served. On the bright side, my Swiss chard was delicious.
Whoever's in charge, maybe it was a bad night, I get that. However, I sincerely hope that this doesn't happen again. Just because you're by the (man-made) lake doesn't mean you can get away with serving this kind of stuff.
I have to reiterate that the service was GREAT. Everyone who helped us was friendly and took everything in stride.
The food there is always consistent, the service staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and considerate about food allergies, and though the main menu changes often they keep the most delicious items on such as their crab cakes and roast chicken.
With the addition of The Soundry next door for music venues and extra patio seating at Clyde's in the summer, the restaurant is perfect for anyone looking to enjoy a meal out in the Columbia area at any time during the day/evening.
Well worth the time and energy. And the only restaurant in 2020 so far I haven't been reluctant to leave 20%.
Food was delicious but service staff seemed less trained that we have come to expect at Clyde's. Sounds pretty, but we were sharing an app and asked for a serving spoon, and the server did not know what that was (nor did they have) ???
Post lunch service in the bar area was very poor. We waited 15mins before anyone approched our table. One waiter standing around was over heard saying, that's not my table. Customer service should be holistic to any business. That one adjacent negative experience could have ruined tips for the waiter of our table. Fortunately, we did not use our waiter who was great to make a point.
Super wow! I very much enjoyed! Yes please and thank you sir!
The decor is super dated, the food is not that good, and the service can be pretty lame at times. But because they have outdoor seating and it's on the water, this place can be packed despite these flaws. Kind of weird that if you're dining at the sister/next door restaurant (Tomato Palace) they have to go next door to this place to get your drinks. Shining grace of Clyde's is that you can get food from Tomato Palace while you're at Clyde's :P
Food was good. Service wasn't. They were not crowded but still packed people so close it was hard to hear at my own table.
The Maryland Crab soup was outstanding but the Salmon Burger was mediocre.
A little expensive but Love the service and the food quality. We had grate time.
Deck by the lake is nice, but food was disappointing. Good wait staff. Plenty of free parking.
Location is the best thing about the restaurant because of the outdoor seating. Service was slow and low quality. Food was the worst except the cream of crab soup. I won't be going back.
Great place to dine on the waterfront and the food is good.
You won't believe what happened to my parents there tonight. My parents came visit me from out of town, I recommended this place to them, because I enjoyed Clyde's in Rockville when I lived there. Thought would be a good experience for them, but ---- they ate, paid and left to walk around the lake. Two waiters called them and singled them out in public, without explaining what happened. After coming back to the restaurant, they insisted my dad didn't pay until they are proven wrong, (just can't image if dad threw out the receipt). How they handled the situation was unbelievably rude and offensive. My mom, without understanding much English, was very terrified by the situation. I guess if you were a minority, don't go there.
Nice place to eat...good menu but could use more seafood dishes. Great atmosphere!
Clyde's has been our Thanksgiving tradition for over a decade and a dining staple for over three. Great time, food and service was had by all in our holiday party.
Have a wonderful dinner took my God kids there had shrimp and grits and brick chicken love this place going to take my boo their
Delicious food. Really managed to make classics look and taste modern. I had a Reuben and my dining partners had lamb chops and the crab soup. Friendly service, family atmosphere. I'd go again.
Mistakes. Cold food. Blah. The second time I've had the manager apologize.
Clyde's is always a good go to place for a quick drink.
Great service and love the atmosphere. Food is amazing.
Went for Happy hour. Food was good, really liked the shrimp scampi appetizer. I had a burger, American i believe, added bscon , of course. Even with happy hour it was still a $15 burger. Portions were good except for the fries. Atmosphere was nice. Beautiful views. The bar was busy. Service was on point. I would go back.
Clyde's has great outdoor seating near Lake Kittamaqundi. The food and service are excellent. Highly recommend the brunch and burgers.
Fresh made food, very tasty. Great service on a Friday evening as well.
The Brick Chicken was so good. The chicken was moist. The risotto and asparagus was perfect consistency.
Amazing food and a cosy atmosphere! I would recommend this place to anyone!
Good atmosphere good wings and drinks right off the lake
Bartenders are terrific and friendly. I only ever sit at the bar but it's a good time. They remember you, your drink, and that embarrassing thing you did last week. That's how it should be.
