I had just returned home from Europe with an upper respiratory infection and an inner ear infection. Nothing over the counter was working and I was weary about going to CityMD. I reluctantly went because I was desperate, and it was the only place open on a Sunday other than the ER. I didn't know what to expect, but I feared the worst. I couldn't have been more wrong. Aside from the aesthetics and then pleasantries, they got me on the right medications immediately, which I was feeling better by the next day. I had been suffering for days prior. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that they had a complete synapsis of my visit complete with diagnosis, medications, usage, dangers, and other precautions. I loved this because it is perfect for record keeping. The doctor I saw was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything she was doing as she was doing it. Excellent bedside manner, and very professional. The staff was great and friendly. I will definitely go there again for regular checkups and any other issues. I would definitely recommend to all.

The staff here is great. Was really sick a few weeks ago. I went for myself and had my toddler with me between the toys in the waiting area and the staff they treated us both wonderful i was in and out in less than half an hour
Visited CityMD for my chest pain and it saved my life. They tested my blood for potential blood clots and when I tested positive, they told me to go to the ER asap. The ER found two Pulmonary Embolisms in my lungs so this CityMD visit literally saved me!!! Thank you!!!
I was denied service, told me to go back to my pcp. All I needed was a simple physical. No, it wasn't because of insurance and no, it wasn't because they were too busy. I do not think they had a legitimate reason, as I was able to get it done at another location later.
I was in New York for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and I hurt my knee the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I went to CityMD and everyone was so extremely nice. They got me in and out very quickly. There was only a very brief wait in the waiting area and in the exam room. It was by far the best experience I have ever had at a medical facility.
Charged me $230 for 15 minutes of their time. Told me I had pink eye (I already knew this) and wrote a prescription. When I asked what I would have paid without insurance they said $125. You read that correctly. Its cheaper if you say you DON'T have insurance. No flexibility on the charge, I got totally robbed by this place. Do not go there. If you do then lie and say you don't have insurance to get the cheaper rate. Sad.
Absolutely the most unprofessional health clinic I ve ever been to. Went here a month ago and they messed up on urine samples and didn t test the right thing. Give me the other day with extremely painful sore throat. But because I didn t have a fever the doctor didn t even think to look in my throat and my nose or my ears. I had to ask him to look at my throat and he refused to even look at my sinuses to see if there was a sinus infection. UPDATE: they made me give a urine sample and tested for the wrong thing AGAIN. Absolutely most unprofessional and ridiculous joke of a clinic ever.
The world would be a better place if every hospital had the knowledge, patience, kindness, manners, consideration, expediency, and ease and grace this location possessed.. I am deeply grateful and cannot sing enough praise for this facility.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This place is a complete joke. The worst staff I ever encountered in the medical field. It s filled with a bunch of unprofessional workers who aren t even doctors. When I was first submitted I had a physician assistant or whatever the hell she called herself check me out. I asked for a real doctor and she got offended.
I was in the most severe throat pain I have ever encountered and they wouldn t perscribe anything past Tylenol. Is this a joke ? I m a grown adult.
All in all I waited 2.5 hours in a cold room which the moron working there admires has AC ON in the winter stating we have to keep it cool at all times while people are sick and cold ... am I missing something ???
Ontop of everything the actual doctor is barely operational and spends more time on the phone. Complete joke.
CityMD offers rapid testing now for COVID! There was a long line but once I got in the process was quick, safe, and efficient. The rapid test is much more bearable than the other one. Great team here
WARNING: PLEASE READ!!! This place must have paid someone to give them so many positive reviews. I've lived across the street and have used this location on 5 separate occasions in the last 6 years, with my wife using them 2 times in the last year- for us both, each time became worse than the previous visit.
My biggest issue is not the incompetence and unprofessional behavior/language of staff, but rather their irresponsibility. My wife had a bad case of the hives last night and was having an anxiety attack. I waited two hours in line so that we could get a prescription because she wouldn't be able to sleep without it. After getting the prescription, the doctor said it would be available in the pharmacy within 10 minutes. 45 minutes later, it still was not ready. When I called, they said give it 15 more minutes as they believe they've sent it to the wrong location. 30 minutes later, still nothing. When I called again, they were closed.
My wife suffered through the night unable to get sleep with OC medicine. When I called this morning, the same process repeated itself twice over when I finally lost my temper. I was then told that I need to "lower" my voice, and "if it was an emergency, why did you not call 911?" Well I'm sorry, I just thought that URGENT CARE meant that you would take care of my wife urgently. I will never use this inhumane, joke of a service again- this is no hospital. I HIGHLY ADVISE YOU NOT TO EITHER.
I have had a very good experience with this CityMD. I in general love their online system. That said, I really wish people realized that this is a high traffic location and would go to a different CityMD. Waits for Covid testing will be multiple people long by 9:30am whereas nearby 69th street has no wait as it doesn t get the same traffic.
Staff was very attentive and helpful. We were very pleased with everything from the receptionists, to the nurse and doctor. Obviously it was not in our plan to be there, but they made the best of a bad situation.
I had a bad experience with CityMD.I would not recommend to anyone.instead of treating patient, they giving you faults results, and making you go back-and-forth,.i went twist, then ask me to go after 2-4 week.and went.they tell me to see the doctor.instead repeating the test.i was explaining to lady and she was helping.. the guy name loop,he come with his rude attitude.and I asked him.. do you know what we talking? and clearly he didn t know what was talking.he was jumping in conversation which he didn t even know.that was unprofessional. * if you paying out you pocket.i would not advise to go there.
THIS URGENT CARE LOCATION HAS MADE IT EASY FOR ME TO STOP IN AND TAKE THE COVID TEST A COUPLE OF TIMES IN A SEAMLESSLY SMOOTH PROCESS WITH RESULTS IN 2 TO 4 DAYS. CLEAN , FRIENDLY STAFF AND GREAT CARE PROVIDED.
The staff was attentive, polite and the wait was short. I went for a second Covid19 testing. The place was clean and not crowded. Plenty of room for social distancing.
Front desk ladies have ZERO clue on how to deal with insurances and gave wrong information.. even though I insisted that I wanted to pay any balance, they said I was fine and that my insurance would cover everything..well, got a bill of U$ 69 dollars...make sure you clarify the exact amount you will have to pay before you leave, otherwise you might get a surprise.
I visited this clinic today with my coworker who cut her finger. My coworker and I both don't speak good English and don't understand American insurance system. Staffs were not helpful and had an attitude.
As urgent care places go, this one was excellent. They were able to see 9 month old and provided great advice. They didn't over prescribe and offered helpful advice. Very clean space and plenty of staff on hand.
I came here when I had a nasty case of strep, and the process was painless. All of the staff with whom I interacted were kind and professional, and I was in and out much faster than I anticipated. Hopefully I won't have cause to go back, but if ever I do, this is where I will go.
Just flew into NYC for a conference and ended up with some kind of allergy attack. I walked into this urgent care at 10pm and was helped immediately. The doctor was available quickly as well and she was attentive & thorough. Special shout out to Ivan for being so helpful and kind!
This place is really good. The staff is really helpful and professional. The manager is a kind person and was very warm and polite with me when i was there, she came to me and assured that i was well attended. Thanks a lot!Besides, its really clean and tidy and waiting time is really short. I really recommend this place if you need to see a doctor urgently. 5 stars with no doubt.
I have been there on 3 different occasions, and each time I was seen quickly and treated appropriately. The charges were the same as if I had gone to my primary care physician. I do have Medicare and United Health Care, and was not even charged a co-pay. I am thrilled to have this Walk-In clinic in my neighborhood.
probably OK for basic things (flu shot, runny nose, whatever). the office is fine and the staff were nice, reasonable wait time for a walk-in visit. real downside is that the medical staff treating you have little real world experience, and it shows.
My mom went here for knee pain she was very happy with the services. She also had a chronic case of eczema for which Dr. Altaf Ansari recommended an OTC. Cortisone cream $7.00 that made a big difference. The area cleared up. She had this for many years and no one ever gave her the right medication.
The staff was professional, responsive, and effective. I came in to treat a laceration on my forehead. They assessed me quickly, reviewed treatment options, and ultimately called in a plastic surgeon for me. It was my second visit to this facility. Both times I had a very smooth and comforting experience. Many thanks!
Be very weary about going to this facility as the staff will tell you that your insurance is in their network while their doctors are not. It's happening everywhere. Good old health insurance, huh! Who would have thought? Was feeling pretty awful and went in for a 10 minute visit with Dr. Sean Halligan who did nothing for me other than take my temperature and tell me I just needed some rest. Gave it some fancy name for a cold, which I did end up getting in a day or two. What a joke. Two months later I get a surprise bill for $311. The only thing they'll be getting from me is a complaint from the Bureau of Consumer Affairs.
City MD is one of the best urgent care experiences I have had. Definitely helpful and they even call you 2-3 days later to check up. Would definitely go back
WARNING: Do not go to any CityMD for anything other than URGENT care. It is in the title of the business for a reason. I went there to receive a travel vaccine, which would have been fully covered by my insurance. My primary physician did not provide travel vaccines, and CVS/my local pharmacy cannot provide vaccines without a prescription, so on a recommendation I went to CityMD for the prescription.
When I first arrived, the receptionist was very friendly and confidently confirmed that my insurance covered the visit. The doctor herself came into the room, asked me to confirm that I wanted a travel vaccine prescription, and then left. The entire visit took roughly 5 minutes, and a day later I had my vaccine: great, right?
A week later I received a bill for $270, not for the vaccine (which was an additional $80) but for the 5-min visit. Turns out my insurance did cover the visit, but only in the sense that it reduced the contracted rate of the visit from $300 to $270. To make matters worse, while my insurance treats travel vaccines as 100% covered, CityMD refuses to adjust the coding on their bill to say anything other than "NEW PATIENT VISIT" and so I cannot be reimbursed.
Perhaps CityMD is an okay option for urgent care, but for anything somewhat routine, it is nothing but a sham.
For those of you who plan to get a covid test at this CityMD location, here's what my experience was like:
After seeing a very long line down the block during the daytime, I decided, hey, let me get there 30mins before they open and I'll be among the first in line. Little did I know, everyone else decided to get there an hour or more before they opened.
I arrived at 8:30am on a Saturday. They opened at 9am. I walked through their front door at 10:32am. If you see the line is just past Dunkin Donuts, expect to be waiting in line for 1 hr and 30min.
When I finally entered, I checked in at a self check kiosk which took 6 or 7 minutes and sat in the waiting room. The waiting room seats are wiped down regularly, so it's very clean and I felt very safe. At 10:42am I was called into an exam room. A rapid test was done by Kate, who was super friendly and had a very good vibe about her. I didn't feel like I couldn't ask questions or was stupid to ask questions. She was very nice.
I checked out at 10:50am and received an email with my results by 11:09am!
TLDR getting a covid test is quick and easy here and staff is extremely pleasant, but be prepared to wait 1hr 30 min outside in the cold.
I'd knock off a star for having to wait for what feels like an eternity outside in the cold, but it really isn't their fault. :)
I was suffering with an allergic reaction and had to stop by the closest Urgent Care. The staff was kind; I was seen right away and my doctor was kind and funny and put my mind at ease! I felt better in no time.
The staff was extremely nice and helpful, and I was in and out in less than an hour! I was on vacation and definitely not from NY, so was very happy to have received great care so quickly!
I highly recommend this medical practice. We are travelling from overseas so unfamiliar with the medical system in New York. The staff were very helpful & the Doctor one of the best we have seen - she was very thorough.
The front desk staff are friendly but the doctor s assistants and the doctor I saw was not helpful. Only prescribe an antibiotic for me and ask me to try. Might work, might not work , nothing for my runny nose nor cough. At the end, i have gotten much worst and need to be hospitalized.
Bait and switch. They told me an office visit would be $125, and then I received a bill for close to $500. They said $125 is only for self-pay, and they billed me for two visits when the second one was supposed to be billed as a follow-up because all I did was pick up a prescription. Services are billed as emergency so your insurance doesn't cover it. Expect to pay close to $250 for one visit if you bill through your insurance. Called them to dispute it and while they did waive the second visit charge, Lativia was especially rude about it. Will avoid them in the future
This place is a very bright, open, and clean setting with friendly staff. The wait depends on the time of day: under 20 min if first patient, over an hour if around 5 pm. Unfortunately, the doctors are hit or miss. I've gone twice for different incidences of the same illness. I know my body pretty well, and I know the difference between a cold and strep.
The first time, Dr. Lee was incredibly professional with a great bedside manner. He was informative and took time. While the nurse took down my story in their computer before he arrived, Dr. Lee asked me again and really listened to my complaints. He asked about previous episodes, tested me, and treated me accordingly. I was very impressed with him, and I was hoping to see him again on my next visit.
The second time I visited, on a Friday after work, I got Dr. Paas-Holland. The nurse was very attentive and professional again. However, Dr. Paas-Holland was not. She did not ask me about my symptoms or history, relying instead on what the nurse told her outside of the room. She didn't listen to the circumstances surrounding my visit, nor did she care that I have been through this before with identical symptoms. She asked me unclear questions, which I don't hold against her since English is not her first language. However, she laughed at me and shook her head when I answered her question incorrectly. She ordered an inappropriate test and prescribed me incorrect treatment. She sent me home with instructions to tough it out until Monday and then fill the prescription if not better. Being fairly sure she misprescribed, I went to another doctor the next day, who properly diagnosed and prescribed treatment for me. She confirmed that Dr. Paas-Holland was wrong. I felt fine within 4 hours.
I would go here again, but I would insist on not having Dr. Paas-Holland. I might even call ahead to see if Dr. Lee is there, since I had such a great experience with him.
Urgent care is urgent. You need treatment. It's not something that can just wait until the next business day; if it was, I wouldn't have gone to urgent care but my PCP, who knows me and has a lower copay. Unfortunately I can't rate the doctors separately, and despite liking the joint, I can't give CityMD more than 3 stars.
Very thorough care! They called me the next day to check on me & I thought that was really great. Great staff and doctors. Also they play Cartoon Network on the TVs so if you had to bring a child in, they d have something to be entertained by while they wait.
It was a genuinely positive experience being a patient at this branch of the City MD. The staff was professional, kind, helpful and relaxed. I could witness how they were also able to put other patients at ease, help them past the bureaucracy and calm them down. Treatment was prompt and professional. I can only recommend this location.
We walked in yesterday with our daughter. The staff was great and the facilities are incredible. We are tourist and we were informed all time about the cost of everything. Really affordable and again great doctors. Very nice. If you are visiting NY and need a doctor this is the place.
We were then last patients on a Christmas Eve and got a confirmed flu diagnosis. The nurse and Doctor were both amazing. Knowledge and patient. Kind and caring. Top notch.
Yes, the extra charges happen often, but this location is open and available for any minor concern that is time sensitive and not serious. They did not have x-rays and other equipment to run the needed tests, so for issues like that it is better to go to an ED.
I am temporarily uninsured and the costs were incredibly affordable. The doctor even took extra time to get me coupons for my antibiotics. Always a positive experience here. Waiting time is always under 30 minutes and the staff is friendly.
Went in for a cut on my left knuckle that wasn t too bad just a lot of bleeding, doctor ended up putting on a pressure bandage and told me not to remove it for 48-72 hours, he recommended 72 since it was kind of a deep cut, I left it for 48 because it was hurting too much and I couldn t stand the pain, turns out the bandage was on too tight and 48 hours worth of compression turns my finger into a black and blue sausage, while at the same time numbing my finger to everything, I ended up going to the hospital right then and there to get proper treatment.
Worst place ever Doctor says it was good poisoning and charges. 75 dollars. Tells patient to just stay in for one more day and not contagious. Finally go to primary physician from mount Sinai 3 days later who says it is a highly contagious stomach virus. He says it is contagious for 7 to 10 days from onset of the virus. The amount of ppl that are exposed to catching it because the doctor (if that is what you can call them at city md) gave the wrong diagnosis. DO NOT USE CITY MD They should refund the co pay. Pls advise on a refund besides risking other people getting sick.
The staff was extremely kind, efficient and quick. They make you feel at ease, no stress and very clean environment. Social distancing is well kept and everything runs smooth and quick. Absolutely recommended!
I went in there with one of the worst chest infections I have ever had and they refused to prescribe antibiotics. Recently I went to get an X-ray for What I thought was a Fractured wrist. After the xray they told me it was not fractured and that it would be healed in a week. It actually was fractured and will take much longer to heal. Never going back again.
It was my first visit ever to this establishment, the timming could not have been worse, considering Manhattan, late afternoon, December 31rst....regardless, I found an Efficient and friendly staff. Dr. Nesheiwat was also a very responsive and detailed in her diagnosis. Happy New year!
They really need to have two lines. One for COVID testing and the other fir actual emergencies. My husband cut his hand and waited on line bleeding for 2 hours before he was seen. He received 4 stitches and was told to come back in two days. Guess what? Another 2.5 hours waiting. It s common sense to have two lines. But no. Everyone must wait in the same line. Ridiculous!
DANGEROUS PLACE. Painful experience. Doctors cant even diagnose common, yet dangerous if not treated, ailments. The african american female dr. is pathetic. When we I describe an obvious visual symptom and told her what I thought I had, she laughed saying she did not see what I was seeing and that was not my ailment. I was so insistent that she had another doctor step in the room, give the same remark as her with out looking at all the different physical signs and walked out. This was the young white doctor. This was followed by her saying ok? you don't have anything there. OK? Believe me! What a prick. This is why she works in a walk in clinic and not a hospital or better care facility. DANGEROUS! I then had to pay well over $100. to be told I had nothing by a smug, terrible dr. 2 DAYS LATER on Monday I went to my primary doctor who on sight diagnosed it and immediately prescribed the necessary treatment.
Great care. However I am a vet and they would not see me unless I paid $200. I was directed there by the VA as a facility covering my visit under the Mission Act. They never heard of it or acknowledged that so I was out of pocket. I was just visiting NYC. Very disappointing especially for vets who cannot pay like I was able to.
This office is located conveniently a few blocks away from where I work. Every time I go there the staff if very friendly and it doesn't take hours to figure out what is going on with me. The facility is very neat, clean, and kid friendly. I'd recommend it to anyone in the area.
The staff here couldn t figure out I had laryngitis. They sent me home with Tylenol. STAY AWAY. Went to a real doctor, was diagnosed, got antibiotics. I would never come back here. The doctor here spent less than 5 min with me. These other reviews are fake.
I had a very pleasant experience with City MD West 57th. Staff and PA were Great. Diagnosed with Otitis media, 9middle ear infection). Will see how this goes...after a week of Amoxicillin.
The staff and doctors was nice. But the follow up is beyond rediculous. I cannot get the results back for almost a month, even when I physically stopped by to pick it up they were still needed to call somewhere. Just super time waisting service in this matter.
Very well organized and everyone is very kind. The receptionist, the nurses and the doctors all are very nice. There is a good vibe in this location I go on 57th and 8 th Ave.
CityMD, its just the best, great service, great nurse, great Doctors. the Doctor knew what i had before running a test. just amazing. the wait is quick very quick the staff is friendly. its not easy to work with sick people yet they still smile and do their best to make you feel better. they are helpful and nice. the ladies at the front desk are so sweet and friendly. they get up to bring the documents to you. such a good gesture. the discharge staff are also nice and friendly. the Doctor that i had yesterday was just great amazing i feel bad i forgot his name but i was to sick to remember his name.
Excellent and responsive service. Physician, Dr Katz, was thorough, professional. i would highly recommend this business. I am a healthcare professional. Only criticism is inaccurate current wait times on their app. Waiting was quite a bit longer than stated, but it was worth it for the high level of care.
Stopped in on a Sunday morning when my poison oak rash started to look scary. The registration kiosk is kind of clunky, but I saw the doctor within about 10 minutes, and walked out quickly with a helpful treatment plan. Good experience!
If you would like here to get tested for COVID-19, just make sure to call in advance if it's within 2-3 hours of their closing time to make sure they haven't run out of tests, Great service from reception to doctors.
This place was amazingly fast and efficient. Receptionists, nurse and doctor and the test result team onsite, incredible. Even the sending of the prescription to the nearest pharmacy. Beats Washington DC hands down after our 4 hours at hospital and 2 hours at pharmacy waiting for prescription plus every medical surgery I've been to in Australia and NZ. Well done for walk ins. Yes it was pricey at $125+25 for tests but because I had no insurance (the doctor asked) and offered me a discount coupon for the chemist.
I was trying to get antibody test today, get off work to make it by 10:15 PM. Luckily I called ahead, before the visit, and told by front desk that they close for COVID testing at 9 PM, I couldn t believe it and I ask for manager (Mellisa). She said they close at 10 PM for Covid related testing. Very disappointing that this location make it difficult to obtain Covid test at late hours despite long lines outside. No information listed about early closing for Covid testing on Google Maps or website.
I have visited this location a few times now. The space is clean. I find the people who work there to be friendly. The wait time is usually short. The doctors I have dealt with there have been caring and encouraged questions and do not force a lot of medications. I have visited this location on occasions when something was bothering me and I was on sure if it was something serious or not. I also feel good knowing that this is some place where I can at least get my vitals taken and make a decision about what to do next. Medicare is accepted.
The doctors and medical assistants were very empathetic to my needs. Also the front desk personnel were very patient and gave me all the information I needed before concluding my visit.
CityMD is great. We were visiting NYC on vacation and were able to quickly get in and out. They were very knowledgeable and nice. We would definitely use them again.
