Have used the service many times over the past few months as I have been working here. Service has always been excellent but today was the best service ever. The driver today (James) has driven me through the center to work. On route he has shown me points of interest and given me a bit of history about Edinburgh. It was great to be driven by someone with such passion about their home town. All drivers I have met have been a credit to their company. Well done City Cabs

Was at in Edinburgh last night and had a real problem getting a taxi. Phoned this company and taxi there within minutes. Really helpful on the phone and driver was very pleasant too. Definitely recommend.

the drivers are usually very polite and friendly - BUT I had very bad experiences with the call center. Today again, when I had a lady with a thick scottish accent on the line, she just hang up on me, when I asked her to repeat the scheduled time. This is not the first time this has happened to me.
I find this unacceptable and as a result have switched to Uber.

A joke! Booked a taxi last night for 5:50, when it hadn t shown up 5 minutes after it was supppsed to, phoned! Hadn t even allocated me a driver!

I booked an early morning taxi to the airport, the driver was friendly, called before he arrived and came on time. I m very happy with the service and don t have any complaints.

City cabs edinburgh have friendly and helpful cab drivers they are also very knowledgeable about their city.
Excellent service would recomend them every time. We used this service whilst in edinburgh for a wedding and sight seeing weekend 3 times
And each driver was brilliant.

Can't thankyou enough for tracing the taxi in which I had left my purse and heartfelt praise for the driver who made a detour to the Haymarket Station to return it to me.
There are still good people in the World.

Just this afternoon I left my backpack in the taxi going to Marriott Hotel, Edinburgh. I ring the Citycabs company and they gave me the mobile number of the taxi driver of Mr. Derek Knov with plate number 725. I was really happy when he told me he got my bag that I left at the back seat and will be deliver back at Marriott Hotel. After 15-20 minutes I got my bag with everything on it. I couldn't thank you enough for the honesty and good service. Again THANK YOU and God bless you and the company. :)

Booked a city cab - fast, efficient, reliable, safe is how they advertise themselves. Unfortunately my experience was not reliable. Booked a cab 30 mins before it was required. Cab arrived 12 mins late. The attitude of both the telephone handler and the driver was poor. No apology which would have gone a long way and I wasn t dropped off at the drop off point I had requested. Disappointed

Just booked with #CiryCabsEdin by there App, it easty to set up and quick for #taxi to come in minutes, well recommended for great service. You receive a email receipt from #CityCabsEdin which is cool as it shows you a map that you've traveled and information of your #CityCabs journey.

My go to taxi company in Edinburgh. Unlike some other black cabs they take card payment and the cabs are very well maintained. I know I can jump in and if the bill comes to more cash than I've got, no issues.

Drivers are EXTREMELY rude especially the removals service. They didn't help me at all and they were very moody.

i called this company at 11.30 for a taxi to pick me at 12pm. as time was passing it seemed the taxi was not comming i called again apparently the taxi is coming its been delayed i ended up telling this company to forget it i ended up having to call central cabs to which they sent out a taxi straight away this is no way to run a business i will never call the company again ever shocking customer service.

Few of their drivers just like idiots wonder around me either they have nothing to do or some personal problem with me. I don't know if they are hired after passing bpss etc .

I waited, for over an hour, for my prebooked taxi. I've never had trouble with City Cabs till now. Called 4 times to be told "oh, a supervisor called you twice!". They did not, since I was looking at my phone the whole time, waiting. Such a disgrace.

Phoned a few times hogmany and kept getting disconnected. Fine if your busy..just say!

I use City Cabs a few times whenever I'm in Edinburgh. A wonderfully efficient service and the taxis are always spotless. The 20% discount was a lovely little bonus too

Terrible experience. Booked a taxi for 8:35am the night before using the app. Called to see if the driver was close at 8:45 and was told there was no drivers in the area and they didn't know when they could get someone to me. Late for my first day at a new job because of this useless company. Never using again.

Always a pleasure, staff on the phone are always so friendly and helpful. I have used city cabs in Edinburgh for over a year now for business and trips out and they are always very professional and kind. I will continue to use them for the forseable future. Thank you

I called a cab, had the confirmation booked then waited 45 minutes. I felt I had been extremely patient - it was Friday night after all. When I called to query this, I was advised my booking did not exist!!! Needless to say I am not More

Just had a ride and paid double. The driver was supposed to let me know that it's more today because of the holidays but nope... It was not mentioned. With that being said, I called the company, informed them that their guy didn't advise us and there wasn't any sort of an apology or anything.

I'm never using this and neither will my clients. Screw you and your hidden invented tarrifs.

second time i ve missed a train on a pre- booked taxi with city cabs. called only to be told it s a busy time of day . - i KNOW, that s why I booked - and that booking is no guarantee that a car will actually show up. pure had it. supposed to be in dundee for family hospital appointment. there s a simple solution - stop maximising your profits at the expense of customer experience and offer some guarantees (or at the very least compensation for your own failure). other companies manage it.

My daughter had scheduled a pick up after leaving her job about midnight tonight. Cabbie decided not to pick her up at her location. Called her and told her to go to another street blocks away. She was unable to go to location. She canceled that cab and requested another. Dispatcher gave her a difficult time. When I called to talk to manager they refused and hung up. I called back and was mad. They hung up again. There are better cab companies, unless you want your daughter stranded in an unfamiliar neighborhood at midnight. Use Central or Private Hire.

I was picked up from edinburgh airport on my return from Ibiza. I left a bag in the taxi with all important documents including passports.
I telephoned city cabs and within 30 minutes by bag was returned to me at my home address by the very same taxi driver !!!! how honest and efficicent is that his name is JOHN CAIRNS and we cant thank him enough

Usually i have no problems with this company, however this morning was a bad experience. I pre-booked a cab to get me to an important meeting and it turned up over 20 minutes late which resulted in me being late. I was told at the time of booking that they cant turn up at the exact time you request but i assumed that would mean 5 minutes max either side of my requested time. When i called to ask where my taxi was I was told a cab hadn't even been allocated, and that i wasn't the only one trying to get to work this morning. Poor service very disappointing. I'll be using another service from now on.

Ok for me City cabs has gone from the best to worse. I have been living in edinburgh for about 12 years now and around 2012 I started working and started using city cabs. That time there was no automatic thing that sends the taxi to your address by pressing 1 on the dial when you call. It was the best service back then, when i was late for work, one call and its there within 5 to 10 minutes, no matter what day it was. Monday to sunday, no delay nothing. I was young back then so I use to sneak out of house to see my girlfriend or go out with my friends in the night and always used city cabs. It felt like i had my own private chauffeur, because boom boom fast service and everything.

However I think start of 2016, its gone worse for me personally. Now I am by no means saying that just because I have been using the city cabs for years and years I want them to treat me better or anything like that. But, I think for past two years I have been asking for the service during the same days of the week which is saturday and sunday same time in the morning every single week. This is what happens, at first, I do the automatic thing, ok taxi comes in about 10 mins, after a few months do the automatic thing again, taxi comes in about 15 minutes. Again fast forward few more months taxi comes in about 20 to 25 minutes. Now recently I habe had very bad experience, i dont know if this has happened to anyone else. So I do the automatic thing, i wait for the taxi about 20 to 25 minutes. Then the city cabs call me and i think the taxi is near but no. The same lady who use to pick my calls says to me oh is this .........(address) and i say yes and she says "where are you going" when she cleary knows where i am going, what my name is and every single details. And she says to me ok your taxi will be here soon so i wait anther 10 minutes and then the taxi comes. Its frustrating and happens to me very often for past few months. And get this, some times after the long wait i get the taxi and then while im on my way to work, another city cabs driver calls me saying that he is outside my door. I deliberately said sometimes because it happens very often. I also use city cabs for travelling to airport and this is no problem because i book the taxi a day ahead, but i feel like now i need do this every time i want a city cabs taxi.

So ive never wrote a review for anything in my life but i had to write this because it is just too frustrating, and seriously they should know their loyal customers. Now im trying see if there are other better taxi serivces. Thank you for your service so far.

After my husband's dismal experience with these jokers on Friday night (where he was left waiting for a booked cab for over an hour and the driver was EXTREMELY rude to him) I thought I would give them a last chance. I needed to book a taxi for work from my home to the station. After being snapped at for giving my address (as the woman asked) and not my postcode, then being snapped at again and told 'no you live in Penicuik' (actually I don't) I had had enough. Told the woman she was rude and have phoned another firm who were delightful. Will never use again.

Terrible customer service. I booked a cab on the automated service and received a voicemail to ask do you still need a taxi? . Uh, yes. And the ring you receive usually indicates your taxi is waiting so we found this out outside in the freezing cold. Yes we need a taxi. That s why we used the automated service 20 minutes prior. I then spoke to a rude member of staff called Holly who argued with me suggesting this voicemail was automated and we shouldn t have used the automated service as this doesn t tell them where we re going. Well, probably don t have an automated service in place.

City cabs used to be so reliable- especially when booking in advance on the app. In recent months, however, I have been let down time and time again with late cabs (some ordered 12 hours in advanced), and I have had to cancel numerous rides recently to find alternative transport. And you complain that people are using companies like Uber? It's no wonder. Sort it out.

Increase their price by a third for the festival. Taking advantage of tourists and locals alike, shocking behaviour from a trusted firm. Advice from me is use a local private hire firm, far quicker and won t cost you an arm and a leg!

Absolutely appalling service. Phoned in advance for a taxi to be told by Catherine that they weren't going to take my booking but I could phone when I got to the location and they would 'see what they could do'. So they felt absolutely okay leaving an 18 year old female on her own at 10 o'clock at night? Regardless I phoned them back when I got to the location and was told by the same woman that she didn't know where I was so they were unable to send a taxi despite the fact that I told her 5 times what I was close to and where I was and not to mention another taxi company knew exactly where I was and send a taxi that got to me within 5 minutes. Genuinely the biggest disgrace I have ever experienced and would NEVER recommend this service to anyone.
