Dont seem to catch much when fishing here, but well maintained city lake

Most of the time it s a great place to visit, however most recently the park has been very dirty and unkempt.

Grew up just a few miles from the lake. It has grown into quite a nice little place to hang out.

Beautiful botanical garden, nice walking trails in a great neighborhood.

Nice relaxing place with beautiful flowers in early spring.

I'm sure this place is AMAZING in the summer. Has a water park, tons of picnic areas, a path for running and walking that goes almost the whole way around. The fishing was slow, but they are in there.

I have loved coming and relaxing at Lake Shawnee since I was a little girl. Though I'm an adult now, I still go to mine and my dad's favorite swinging spot. Despite all the construction going on over on 29th Street, everything is consistently clean, well maintained and a great place for families of any size.

Was very relaxing fishing but did not catch any fish heated duck nice,lights,pole holders and shelter from the rain

Absolutely gorgeous place to bring family and friends to spend a day outdoors

Over population. Only a few food vendors for number of people there.

It is a well maintained Lake. The parking areas are always clean. The geese were having a good time. It is a nice drive around the lake anytime of year...

Had a lot of fun there. Shelter house one is very nice. The lake was butieful. And there is some good fishin.

Beautiful lake with a great walking trail and very well maintained.

Family and pet friendly. Lots of trails to walk around the lake. Including a garden that's very beautiful when they bloom during the spring.

Great shelterhouse. Restrooms across street were very antiquated. Definitely they need to be updated.

Nice area. We were only at the Sports Complex. Beautiful.

Very nice lake with lots of fun things to do. Don't forget the fishing poles and the swimming suits.

I really enjoy paddle boarding at this lake! The south ramp is usually not busy making it easy to launch and exit the lake. Would recommend to anyone.

Peaceful night and Sweet Company!!, watching sunsets with the one meant for me!

Love this lake! Camping, picnics, etc.So pretty and well maintained! Topeka should be proud of this area!

Very nice walking paths. Ample shade and places to sit with many flowers being identified for the novice like me.

Boat house could use some cleaning and updating but the parks and lake itself ate very well kept and beautiful

Terrific gardens, shelter houses, baseball diamonds, boat docks, paddle boats, heated fishing dock.

A hidden gem of Topeka. Well groomed with a nice concrete trail all the way around, but still natural. If you're there at the right time, you'll see blue heron, ducks, geese, and maybe even a bald eagle or two! Lots of playgrounds for the kids and shelterhouses for hosting parties. The Ted Ensley gardens are beautiful... a great place to propose to your girlfriend! ;)

A beautiful lake to visit if you are near, The Ted ensley gardens are very nice. If that is not your speed the lake features a few playgrounds, A golf course and a paved trail that loops the entire length of the lake. The parks department or whoever runs the upkeep are doing a great job.

I Love Lake Shawnee,try to go EVERY day,to walk with MY BOY ROCKY met alot of PEOPLE who walk everyday.we wave or talk.waiting to start kayaking again.

Went to see the holiday lights at Lake Shawnee. Enjoyed the drive around the lake, and the money goes to a good cause.

Nice, open, and clean event space...great for family gatherings, parties, etc.

Beautiful campsite well located, the visit of the tulip gardens is really great in the spring.

Look out for the road work. 29th street closed at westside drive. Detour thru neighborhood on gardener.

Long Walk around the lake, well maintained. Some trash here and there, and people don't seem to pick up after their dogs unfortunately. Really beautiful park though. Heated restrooms.

Located inside Topeka city limits. Easy access to shoreline.
