Beautiful landscape, well maintained, most visitors are really good about picking up after themselves. Great place for a family outing. Just check the local updates about alge & other outdoor concerns.

This is a great place to visit and has a variety of things to do through the year normally. (Minus this past year due to the pandemic.) But is still a great looking place to visit and enjoy the view at least. I look forward to visiting here again during the summer and hope to get some swimming and fishing done.

I love the lake its so relaxing and my daughter loves to go here and play. I do see that there is alot of trash in some parts of the water and around the edge that we as a public could start taking better care of and cleaning up behind ourselves

Did a bike ride all around the lake. The trail was in very good condition. There was one steep location on the south side that had a recessed drainage grate at the very bottom which caused my 5 year old to wipe out on his bike. The trail isn't too busy, and the south east side does not have much around it except for the golf course which is fenced off. The sidewalk on this side is separated from the street, 45th St, which is good because the speed limit is 45 mph. I would not ride it at night as there is not much in the way of light.

What a surprise! After going to the northwest side of the lake to eat lunch with a friend several times this past year, I and my wife decided to explore the southwest side after our TG dinner today. Little did we know that the real jewel of the setting lies there. The Ted Ensley garden was just beautiful! Walking its paths only augmented our joy and gratefulness for what was close to being a perfect TG day. We highly recommend a visit there before fall is over. Plan on winter and spring too. You will be blessed.

Very nice. Great walking or riding sidewalks all the way around with care in the landscaping. Awesome baseball complex. Great golf course & campgrounds. They have nice clean playgrounds all around, paddle boats, a swimming beach. Its large & spacious enough for many event to be held there.

I love Lake Shawnee. There are tons of options on how to spend your time. Long trails, good picnic spots with or without tables, various playgrounds for kids, areas to take your own boat or rent a canoe or paddle boat, a beautiful arboretum, camping, and more.

Check out their website and you can find out about different events they have going on during the year too.
