Favorite place to hang out with my family. The walking/jogging/bike trails are really nice and marked every 1/4 mile for easy tracking of your progress. We always catch fish there, too!

A treasure in Topeka. It has a 7-mile paved trail that circles the lake and is great for roller blading, biking, and running. It s pretty much the reason I would consider living in Topeka (take heed, city planners).

Beautiful park and lake with a wide concrete trail that goes all the way around. Camping, golf, fishing, powerboats, sailing, wonder gardens, something for anyone and everyone. Spend a few minutes outside. it is good for the soul

Have not been in Topeka for years. Was in town for a outdoor wedding at the Ted Ensley Gardens. Weather cooperated and the area was well kept. Had the reception at the events center on the east side of the park. Facilities were very nice and well cared for. Was impressed with the facilities and the area.

Great place to spend the day with the family and relax. peaceful and quiet. Well kept. Nice joggimg/biking trail. Rentable paddle boats. Yacht Club, shelter houses rentable, heated dock during the winter, several boat ramps, swimming beach, accessible dam, great fishing. All around a great area for family and friends to gather. During the Christmas months they have a big light show for about a month ran biological organization TARC. Would recommend anyone.

Very beautiful place for a 7 mile walk and lots of hidden nooks to look for. My beautiful girlfriend planned a picnic there and it was great. There's parking in various locations along with docs and parks and there is even a large garden which includes gazebos and a butterfly garden. The tulips are pretty in bloom and you'll always find other friendly faces exploring Lake Shawnee. There are baseball and softball diamonds along with a golf course and other activities around the lake. Just outside of the lake perimeter, you can find some places to eat and get a snack. Overall it's a good place for a nice day out.

Family friendly park with plenty of options for event organizers. Includes a walking trail around the entire lake, several shelter house cabins, several gazeebos, boat docks, fishing spots, etc. Also hosts several large events every year, such as a great fireworks show on July 4th and The Great Topeka Duck Race.

Great place for all sorts of events. The Lake parks and recreation officers are very kind and keep us safe. I feel better knowing that if something goes wrong at the lake or in the parks, the response time is far faster than if we would have to wait on TPD (who have alot on their plate already).

Gorgeous lake with picnic areas and RV park. Nice paved paths to walk or ride on. Ensley Gardens is a special place. Take your whole family or go by yourself.. Any hour any day it's beautiful here.
