Beautiful man-made lake with camping, swimming, kayak and paddle boat rentals, as well as a great golf course and baseball complex.

Beautiful place. We live across the street and love to hike the trails, watch the ducks, or just sit and watch the wind on the water. We have most of our family gatherings here, great shelter houses.

I love living near this gorgeous lake. The flower gardens, bike trail and lake are great assets to this town.

Lake Shawnee is always a great place to visit. They have walking/biking trails, swimming, playgrounds, botanical gardens, wildlife, fishing, boating, sports, disc golf, camping, and beautiful scenery. The trail around the lake is a bit over 6 miles. There is always something to do out there. I recommend a visit if you like the outdoors. I recommend it even if you do t like the outdoors.

People always keep their dogs leashed. Enough room for bikers, runners, skateboarders, and walkers. The garden is perfect for a romantic stroll.

I have lived in Topeka for 10 years. Lake Shawnee is always a pleasant place to go and get away from the feel of City Life. The flower garden is gorgeous everyone should experience it at least once, I go there frequently. There is a 7 Mile plus walking, jogging, exercise trail all the way around the lake. It's a beautiful way to enjoy being fit. Sometimes it's nice just to take a short stroll back and forth cross the dam around sunrise or sunset. Campgrounds are always well organized. I believe they have bathrooms and showers at theirs. I'm not a fisherman personally but I always see people down at the fishing areas when I cruise my trike around.

Its a nice place to go on a walk, picnic, motor boating, and cycling. You can spend some time to just relax or sit for a while if you don t want to do anything. Its a very long trail along side a lake.

Lake Shawnee is such a Beautiful place. They have great walking trail/path that have 1/4 miles markers making it easy to track your distance. Also, they have a magnificent garden area (Ted Ensley Garden) that is great to visit, especially when the tulip's are in full bloom. There is so much more beauty that can be described about Lake Shawnee that this comment section cannot withstand it all. A must see place.

Fantastic outdoor spot there's a great paved trail for biking, a great campground, plenty of fishing spots, boat ramps to put your boat in, shelters to have events at. A wonderful flower garden to have a quite moment.

Nicely maintained lake with a paved walking trail and the beautiful Ensley Gardens. Many areas to explore. Premier boys baseball diamonds. Girls softball diamonds continually evolve. Many play areas dille kids. I don't boat or fish but know there is fishing, a ski club and a rowing team. Camping is also available.

Great place to relax, read, paint etc. Needs more fish

The lake is amazing. The girls softball needs some improvement to the bathrooms. The fields look good with the new sunshade canopy. There needs to be a bathroom by fields 3&4. Alot of grandparents, kids cant run to bathroom and be back in 5 min.

Lake Shawnee is a great little man made lake on the SE side of Topeka. It has a concrete sidewalk going around the entire lake. The city/county have made tremendous improvements in the past 20 years! Beautiful gardens to walk through, abundant fishing, walking, biking around the lake, kayak and other rentals, golf, tennis, sand volleyball, playgrounds, camping.... the list goes on.

It's a great small boat sailing lake. Come out for the FREE lessons at Shawnee Yacht Club every Wednesday evening June thru August.

Water, geese, playgrounds, walking trail, campgrounds, golf, disc golf, softball diamonds, picnic areas and public restrooms it ain't lacking much. And close to shopping and the interstate.

I love walking around a park with my dog. Very beautifully lake. People very friendly. Sometime there have events a party and games.

Pretty scenery. The park is very well maintained. Great walking pathand lots of activites for the kids.

This place used to be great. It's now overrun with a speed racing bicycle crowd who seem to think yelling out of my way is appropriate. It used to be clean when I was a kid..now the water and the shorelines show just how quickly mother nature can be neglected to the point of nasty. Shameful. Topeka deserves better.
