The best Park in Topeka probably. The nasture is abundant and the pathways well kept. The lake itself is full of birds and fish.

Can for my father's 60th birthday party. It was beautiful. The lake is amazing
Nice smaller lake near the city. Walking trail encircles the lake as do ample parking spots, playgrounds and shelter houses for parties.motorized boats are allowed on the lake with a special lake permit, though most of the lake is fishing activities only. There is a paddle boat rental on the west edge road, and the Topeka rowing club on the east edge road. Walking trail goes across the damn.
Many different views and things to do here. Great walking trail around the lake!
A great spot for family outings, exercise, fishing, picnics, and photos.
Beautiful Campground. Very reasonably priced, and the staff absolutely wonderful to get along with. Facilities are clean well-maintained. Great place to go geocaching
Lake Shawnee is a great place for a peaceful walk around the water. It's definitely a Topeka gem.
Amazing variety of this to do, such as playgrounds, pools, the zoo, the ponds, then train, the carousel, etc. Great place to take the family
Lake Shawnee is probably the nicest place we have in Topeka. Have yet to see a meth addict here so will continue to go.
a nice place to go camping, lake is VERY small so motorboats are not the best idea here. lots of other people camp here as well so it will be crowded
Beautiful scenery. Many parks to play at to keep kids having fun.
Eh too many gross dumb geese pooping everywhere... but there are beautiful flower gardens with fish ponds and an eight mile walk, bike, skate, running cement path that goes all the way around lake.
Love the walking trails and beautiful flowers and trees here.
A fun destination in Topeka. Golf, walking, picnicking, boating, skiing, swimming and more at this lake. The city hosts many events out at the lake throughout the year. All of them are worth attending.
Tulips weren't in bloom yet but the daffodils were.
Are the shower house open? And how much it to rent a lot for tent and suv for a month?
Nice lake nothing special. Has had many issues with their lake. Poor service staff that aren't responsive.
When I was young it was nice and fun. But when I took my child there it was horrible.
Beautiful Lake beautiful surroundings last year there was a lot of trash in the water. Keep the lakes clean people.
Great place to spend an afternoon be it on a boat or with a 9 iron. Theres plenty to do here besides swim
Was not impressed! Not happy about having to put our tent in rocks. There was a man and a women we had to run out of the women's bath house. Too many rules about setting up camp. If I can fit more than one tent in a site without bothering neighbors I think you should be able too! There was a triathlon going on and we had trouble getting in and out of camp...plus we could not boat. NO one told us this... Paid for a camp spot that didn't get ised!
Lovely scenery and plenty of ways to keep your family in the outdoors.
Nice walking path, parks, fishing and gardens. You have to be cautious of bicyclists on the path though!
Beautiful scenery, great to just get out and enjoy nature.
My spot to think, cry, eat lunch at times.
People walk or be on their boats, etc.
Fantastic public park! Lots to do and it is beautifully landscaped.
Amazing place with many activities and things to do and see..
Watched the polar plunge yesterday with this new friend (turtle) I made! I really love that this event raises money for the special Olympics! I love all the men and women that were brave enough to trudge through that freezing water for such a wholesome cause!
I love the venue place that I was at. went there for a baby shower and then a gender reveal
Beautiful campground with private beach for campers only. Reservable and affordable. Restrooms and showers are clean. Onsite laundry available. Only minus is that there is no discount for longer stays. No sewer hookups but dump station is free for campers. Limited tent sites with electric. Staff is friendly and helpful.
We've stayed here many times. Best stuff: Open spaces, peaceful quiet settings, very friendly and accommodating staff, easy access to interstates and a beautiful, paved trail of several miles all around the lake which is excellent for bicycling or walking/running. Pet friendly. The rent is extremely low. The only downside, if you are staying for more than 3 - 4, days is that there is no sewer connection on site. You need to disconnect and drive to the dump station just outside the RV entry point but still on the park grounds. Cannot recommend this place too highly.
Very nice community lake to picnic, exercise, fish, camp, use as a venue for parties or any celebration.
Great place to have a bbq and play all in all good day
I love the beautiful gardens and the walking paths. Such a wonderful place to spend the day
I love Lake Shawnee. The gazebos & bridges & lake itself are wonderful for pictures. We had a nice walk & had a good time taking pics.
We spread my Mothers ashes out here years ago....and i often come out to the lake..just to reflect and think over everything going on in my life, and of course to talk to Mom, on this particular trio though I went out to fish, my first time....it was quite the adventure i must say... Didnt catch nothing at all...it was also quite a bit colder then it was when i first decided to go...plan on retutning in the near future... Have a date with some fishies....who d love to be caught...lol...my mother would truly get a kick out of the adventure if she was still alive..... Perfect lil place... I swear...the atmosphere was very calming and peaceful and tranquil....
I like the lake but it stinks and the water is gross but I do love the flower garden
Great place to go with a loved one.
Went with my girlfriend and daughter on a nice day.
They have swings, playgrounds, and picnic tables/ grilling spots.
Lake Shawnee is an amazing Topeka spot! Gardens, fishing, playgrounds! The disc golf course is definitely a fun time.
Very nice area, very family friendly, just wish the fish would bite more lol
I always loved the outdoors, now I can take my grandkid's to the lake and enjoy the outdoors too!
The "ranger" needs a new hobby other than thinking he's king of the lake.
Really pleased with how beautifully kept the lake is
