The hotel is well decorated, the rooms are connected and it is so nice to be able to change the colours of the lighting, the lights or even the temperature.

Great concept/boutique hotel that's great for Amsterdam even though it's a little out of the way.

Unfortunately there are a few aspect that let it down from being a 5 out of 5, and it DOES have the potential for this.

Had to change rooms as the shower in first room randomly started dropping - very loud due to room size, both first and second room had issues with air con (set between 18-20, never dropped below 21) and quite hard beds.

Good only for overnight stay and not suitable for families. Too hipster.

Really love this place. Modern and lots of nice touches. Handy console to control lights, blinds and TV. Good selection of films. Easy check in. Will definitely be staying in one again.!

The hotel is very nice.
The lobby is very large and designed as a large common area where you can eat, have breakfast, have a drink, watch TV and surf the Internet for free at any time. In the afternoon there are also guests that hold meetings fon colleagues around one of the many available tables.

The rooms are small but very clean and technological. Board of going there in the company of a person with whom you have some confidence.

Small but well designed, modern rooms with all the mod cons required. Location may not suit some travelers wanting to be really close to all the sights but we found it fine. Service was excellent with great bar and area to hang out at the lobby.

If you're not comfortable pooping with your door open you won't be happy here. Otherwise perfect. Tiny rooms with showers and toilets separated from the bed only by a glazed panel.

Toilet and shower in the room/ in a tub, each/ but not together...are you serious??? No fridge, no closet, no space at all except the extralarge bad probably for giant guests. 2 stars for the staff, very friendly and helpfull.

Hip & trendy. The room has everything you need, and more such as colored mood lighting. Everything to control with an iPad. I have an ergonomic pillow at home and often do not sleep well when I move, but the CitizenM pillows are great. Firm bed. You can watch a whole series of films if you want (for free). And the food is great too. Buffet with something for everyone (meat / veggie).

The Citizen M is a nice design hotel near the WTC/Amsterdam Zuid. The rooms look great and provide a lot of innovative goodies (e.g. ipad handles AC, TV, ambient lights, etc.). Great breakfast, the 24 hour bar and a perfect service makes the stay very convenient.

It s not often you walk through the bathroom to get to the bed - but welcome to citizen M.

Small. Clean. Super functional. The tech in the room is super functional and a true smart home experience all controlled from a mini iPad in the room.

The concept is amazing: design, style and uniques ideas for rooms, bathrooms, hall and breakfast area. The hotel is 3 mins walk from Amsterdam Zuid train station or just in front the tram stop nr. 5 that takes you in downtown in 10 minutes. Quiet, silent and very cozy: the bed full window wide is pretty unusal and very comfortable. The remote control in the room permits you to check lights, blinds, TV, radio and clock alarm: very technologic! The breakfast is a bit expensive, but it's not an exclusive matter of the hotel, its' about Amsterdam. 100% suggested for couples, but amazing as well for groups!

Modern and chic hotel, aptly suitable for the city of Amsterdam. Not the best view of the city, yet the proximity to businesses and the airport makes it a wise choice. Food options are limited inside the hotel, although the bar is quite a happening place at night. The attached washrooms are not for the faint hearted and worth experiencing.

Location a short tram ride away from all the hussel and bustle that Amsterdam has to offer. This is our 3rd stay at Citizen M and as usual that staff have been super friendly and attentive. Room has everything you need and a very clean providing a comfy cozy bed to rest your head

Modern, clean and fancy rooms. I liked the self check in and check out.

The shower sink was not running correctly so after shower I found my room absolutely flooded.
I called the desk, explained what happened and asked for towels but they haven t brought enough and didn t even apologise
One of my bag was completely soaked so I asked if they can dry it but they just shrugged their shoulders and told me they didn t have a drier so you should just hang it in the chair

My past citizenM experiences were so good I couldn t believe how they dealt with my issue here. So I contacted support, And thankfully the twitter account team was helpful as always and gave me sufficient help.

Very cool boutique hotel close to Amsterdam zuid station. Convenient to get to from the airport. Room is small but very contemporary with free Wi-Fi and a great selection of free movies. They loan out bicycles for free as well to explore to area. Lively vibe in the hotel always. 10minute walk to restaurants. 25minute tram ride to Dam Square

Economy class rooms, sufficient for a 1-2 nights sleep. Noting special and fancy. Toilet and shower are in the same room, you have to close the round doors for the shower to work.
The cool part is that there is a tablet, that you can control the whole room with - lights, curtains, tv, AC, etc.

CLEAN AND WELCOMING, easy access to the city center

Comfortable but pods in the middle of the room were a little strange and think the room may feel small for two.

STAY HERE! This hotel was a very welcome lifesaver after a rough few days of travel. I arrived late at night and the hotel staff was there and ready to get me checked in, in about four seconds and I was up to the most comfortable tiny room ever! I can't recommend this hotel enough. And that rainfall shower...wow.

Very savvy place. They use a lot of technology to control your room which is very nice. Beware that rooms are fairly small, but they make good use of space.

This is a high-tech and funky hotel, fairly conveniently located but which lacks nothing in human personality. The staff are best described as forward and lively, expect to be engaged by them with little or no prompting. Check-in is electronic via self-service touch screen, but the keen staff are immediately there to ensure you are comfortable with the process. You can add extras like breakfast to the bill at that point. You make your own key and head up to your room.

The rooms are modern 'pod' rooms in which everything is in the one space but that isn't to say the rooms are small, they are surprisingly spacious, but they are clearly modern and efficiently designed. There is essentially no furniture and the toilet and shower are actually in the room. Fear not, there are smoked glass screens to protect some modesty when using the toilet but none for the shower. Not a room to share with someone you're not very intimate with. That said the rooms are clean, tidy and complete. The bed is built-in, attached wall-to-wall and to window! Everything is controlled by touch screen iPad, from the lighting brightness (and colour moods) through to the curtains, the temperature and especially the TV. But it is all simply laid out once you realise.

The nights sleep was comfortable apart from one big annoyance, the sounds of the building, in particular the waste water pipes, was very obvious and almost intrusive. I think people avoid flushing after late hours because they realise how it will affect others, but first thing in the morning you hear the thunder of toilet water.

Food is mostly self-service, the dinner selection didn't appeal too much to my mood that night but had it been another day I might have tried more. If you want a proper dinner you probably would be better off going out. The bar is lively and the staff add to the atmosphere, but there is another section where you can get away from that.

Breakfast (as well as dinner) is in the bar, the staff interactive again, and the selection is modest but adequate. It could certainly be better value than it is, I've paid less and got more at other, more expensive hotels.

Check-out was simple enough and the experience complete. I would stay again, especially if the breakfast was cheaper. I would say it is for singles and couples, probably professional people more than older couples. It would be a stretch to say it was a romantic venue, but it depends on how youthful your being or how classical you like your romance. I don't think this is a place for families with younger children and I probably wouldn't bring babies.

Hotel is lovely. The staff are very helpful. Robby on the main desk is so nice and Mikey Mike AKA Gok Wan ( look-a-like ) is so nice and full of laughs. If i come back to Amsterdam ill be staying here

Best sleeping comfort in Amsterdam. Mattresses are out of this world. Cramped quarters, although efficiently laid out. Like a Japanese sleeping pod ;) Nice staff, good location!

CitizenM Amsterdam is located at a short 5 minute walk from Metro /NS station Amsterdam-zuid, 5 minutes walk from Tram Line no.5 Prinses Irenestraat stop; convenient to get to and from Schiphol airport and Centraal station.
CitizenM has a rapid check-in /out system. As most of the booking was made online and much of the work has been done before arrival, so all that is left to do is issue room cards and agree to pay the Amsterdam tax. It took us less than 5 minutes to sort this.
The room key is contactless, and was given to us with a tag so it is easy to attach to bag and reuse for next time. The room was immaculate when we arrive, 2 cylinder one for loo and the other for the wet room with ceiling shower. The bed is very comfy. Everything including lighting and TV are controlled by the "moodpad" a glorified iPad mini.
CitizenM offers a good selection of TV channels which the EU, UK, US citizens will feel at home. Also has ability for customer to beam media from their mobile devices to the TV.
A wide range of complimentary items include towels, soap, and shavers / toothpaste are available at request.
Breakfast is not included in most cases, but it is available to add at the check-in stage. It offers buffet breakfast. There is also a 24hrs snack / coffee bar.
There is lounge area on the ground floor for meeting or watch football matches on big TV.
The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I will prefer to book with CitizenM if I m travelled to other locations.

Great stay here at this young and hip hotel with small and cozy rooms. Conveniently located beside the Tram 5 line and 5 min walk to Amsterdam Zuid station, which is much less busy than centraal station. Breakfast comes at an additional charge.

Good location very close to the WTC with good transport links from the very nearby Zuid station. The room was furnished well and had an iPad to control all of the features of the room (lights, air con, blinds, TV, etc.). The city view room had an amazing view of the WTC towers. Breakfast was fairly simple but had some good selections and was served between 6 and 11am!

Capsular rooms with everything you need with full use of space. Supermodern and functional. Curious. Chain with different hotels in cosmopolitan cities.

We stayed at Citizen M for two nights. The concept of the room is unusual: a shower and a toilet are located in the middle of the room and are fenced off according to need by glass partitions. The feast of the senses comes: the sense of smell and sight

Very convenient if you re using the train.

With clean, modern rooms, and friendly staff the CitizenM Amsterdam is a fantastic hotel. A ten minute ride from Schipol via the train, it is well located to get into the city. The room has some very nice amenities such as the pillar shower and the iPad room remote that controls everything in the room.

The rooms are very practical, and everything is domotizado (with the tablet they have you can control everything). And a very varied breakfast buffet and until 11

Omg where do we start what an amazing hotel. Staff really friendly and helpful couldn't do enough for you. Hotel is ultra-modern and really clean. The rooms are a little small but it works. The only thing missing in the rooms are tea coffee making facilities.

The hotel/rooms are designed to perfection. Rooms aren't huge (quite the opposite) but if you're not spending too long in them, they're all designed really well, everything is super intuitive and easy to use and all feels really high quality. Also very well connected with a tram right outside which takes you pretty much anywhere you'd want to go.

Perfect for an overnight business stay, solid for a short stay if not sharing a room but probably a bit small for much else

Expensive for 2 night plus 2 breakfast not too much room in the rooms for suitcases .. no window that opens, air conditioning all the time suddenly even at night I do not like it too much.but a very warm welcome modern .. very young ...
