We saw An American in Paris at the Wang last night and I have only one word to say for the entire experience: GORGEOUS. The show a visual feast of changing streets of Paris, super artistic and suggestive, yet very believable. The show was excellent...from the minute it started until the ovation. We loved it. The Wang is a beautiful theatre, which makes going to a show a special event.

The theater itself is pretty, in an old nostalgic way, but the seating experience is not. Seats are extremely close together, with very little leg room. There are cupholders placed near the floor..Just high enough for me to hit my foot on it. I've had a bone bruise for two weeks.

Viewing angles were fine, and staff and volunteers were friendly. Just be prepared for squishing in, especially if you're in the taller side.

All in all, not my favorite theater, but I do like the events they host!

Always a GREAT experience here. I've been going since the early nineties and always a great treat / night out. Everyone is helpful. Ushers are attentive, kind and considerate before, during and after the show.

Roberto Carlos concerts are always the best, he has a lot of fans, his concerts are always full and people always get up and try to go to the front to see him closer or to take videos and pictures. The Boch Center - Wang Theater staff were very helpful sending people back to their chairs. Roberto Carlos is the King of the romantic music in the world.

A beautiful place but NOT a good venue for a concert. I sat in the balcony and a group of people in front of us stood the whole time and blocked the entire view of the stage. There is absolutely no leg room making it very uncomfortable and inconvenient when people needed to get by. It really ruined the show, very bummed.

The theater is moderate in size. When entering you are checked with guards that check your body for any metal and possibly check your purse. No big deal. Such an amazing clean place with moderate amount of concession stands for your needs whether it being a cold soda to some popcorn. Alcohol too. The bathrooms however are located deep into the theater which is an inconvenience because it's not the easiest place to find. Luckily the workers there are friendly and very helpful. Bathroom stalls are few so if the place is packed you'll probably be waiting. The actual theater is large and such a big seating area. With beautiful mural ceiling to the actual seat and cup stand in front of your seat (plus), this place is pretty nice to go for a show. The balcony seats are really nice so long as you're a few rows away from the front. I was second row in and the family in front just wouldn't stop moving and keep getting into my view. You're welcome. Other than that chairs are comfy and exits are large and noticeable. Sit back and enjoy the show.

The place to see big expensive shows in Boston. Ornate theater that opened in 1925 as The Metropolitan, evolved into The Music Hall in the 60s and 70s, then back to the Metropolitan in the 80s before finally being rebranded as the Wang Center and restored to its former glory. Excellent sight lines even from the cheaper seats and spacious bathrooms where the lines aren't too long. Concessions are expensive and not too interesting.

Saw Mariah Carey here. Our seats were on the lower mezzanine. We could see her without any issues. The only thing I didn't like was the shaking motion when ppl would dancing and jump which I was told was purposeful to the structure.

Seats are not big guy friendly and I was on a isle. Seats are so tight people carry beer and drinks and spill on you or your seats , and yes even if bottom seat folds up the row walk ways are tight. Zero get by room. Concert it self was great. Inside was great

Saw the Symphony of the Goddesses, auditorium was beautiful. Lines were long but everything moved quickly. Staff was courteous and knowledgeable and made the experience easy to navigate and let the focus remain on the show.

Overall the theater is gorgeous and was tastefully decorated for the holiday. All of the employees I interacted with were very pleasant. The acoustics, lighting and sound were all incredibile. I sat in the Orchestra Center row DD and I am a petite person (5 ft. tall). The view of the stage was ok, however I'd suggest Mezzanine seats if you're short since I found myself moving back and forth most of the evening to see around the person in front of me. The seats in the area I was in were not well staggered and I was basically in line with the person in front of me. The space between the rows was VERY narrow so I would advise to leave all bulky purses at home and tall people to take note. My knees were basically hitting the chair in front of me all evening (sorry ma'am!) Additionally it was extremely hot in the theater. Prior to going in we were told by the ushers that it was going to be hot in the theater. I expected it to be warm due to all the people but by the end of the show people were using their playbills to fan themselves so dress accordingly. Knowing what I know now, I would go see another performance at this theater but I'd sit in the mezzanine, take a smaller purse and dress more appropriately.

Beautiful theater. Unfortunately disorganized. Bar/concession were understaffed leading to incredibly long lines.

Also ushers continued to seat people well after the show started... Taking out their flashlight and blocking views or disrupting people.

Just went to see the production of Elf and loved it. The sound was amazing and the seats were comfortable. My only issue was that there was a boy in front of me with 5 in tall hair. It was a little annoying but it was not the theater's fault for this.

The gorgeous visual appearance of the theater is more than offset by the physical challenges of the place. The seats are worse than flying coach. I have a 29-inch inseam and my knees were hitting the seat in front of me. Line of sight from the balcony is terrible. It's like being on the floor. If the person in front of you leans forward it blocks the whole front-center of the stage. I'd be hard pressed to see another show here.

Last night I attended The Alvin Ailey American Dance performance. The staff at the Wang were so rude! We were threatened of losing our $100+ seats numerous times during the event for getting up to use the ladies room during intermission. We would be forced to stand, if not back in our seats on time. The line to the ladies room was very long and once in there yelled at by the bathroom attendant to hurry back to our seats. The bar staff yelling at the attendees to "hug the wall" like it was a prison yard.
I will never pay my hard earned money to attend another production at the Wang and be treated so rudely.
