What a fantastic place! Some of the best Tex-Mex we've had! Served up quickly in a super friendly and fun spot! Great chips, salsa, guac and dips to get your motor running while you wait for your main event to arrive. Our server was fun, friendly and most importantly; engaging! They aren't just going thru the motions here! We left full and happy! I'd like to add that I rarely offer a 5 star rating; but this spot had it all. The people; and our server in particular brought this all the way to the top though! Go have some fun and some excellent Tex-Mex!

I hate how much I love Chuy's.

I'm a diner who finds one or two staples at a restaurant and sticks to those. But not with Chuy's--I've never gotten the same thing twice, and I've never been even mildly disappointed. The Wild Burrito is my runaway favorite, with the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom enchiladas coming in at a close second. But believe me when I say you canNOT go wrong here.

By far the best overall tex-mex restaurant I've been to. This is coming from a very picky vegetarian eater. I got a veggie burrito with a spicy queso on the side. We waited about 30 mins to get a table and roughly 20 mins to get our food. In the end it was worth the wait. I would recommend this place to anyone in Austin. I will definitely be coming here again

Food was ready in 15 minutes
Price was standard for the location, i.e. trendy South Austin.
Take away the ambiance of Chuy's, and you've just got Tex-mex take out. It's not bad but there nothing to make it stand out from a hundred other Tex-mex restaurants in Austin.

Food was amazing and the staff was very kind and tentative and answered every question i had being as it was my first time here. Only complaint was it did take a while for the food to come out but it was lunch time and in the middle of the rush.

Food was good. Service was the absolute worse. As in just to get a table. The young teenagers in the front would tend to mouth off when ask about how long the wait was. Including rolling of the eyes. Very disappointed. Waitress was amazing. Ended up receiving free ranch salsa due to this experience. Probably would not return. Really thought chuys would never get to this point. Shame. Shame.

Food was great! Had a great recommendation for the jalapeno ranch salsa, service was great! I took a little long ordering, since this was my 2nd time here, but the waitress was patient and helpful! Great, fast service!

WORST Chuy's! You would think that the original location would have the best food and service, but it was awful.

My chicken enchilada was dried up, and tasted like it was reheated/days old. The rice was crunchy. The wait staff were nonexistent. Everyone was crammed in like sardines.

Pretty sure we all got food poisoning here too. There are better Chuy's in town....stay away from this one.

Great Food and fun service

Great Food and fun service
Get the big burrito it is a tasty thing for a good price.
Free Queso from 5-7pm.
Good Tex Mex for someone out of state who knows nothing of Tex Mex

I like Chuy's. I also get the fried chuycunga and I love it. I mean, it's totally fried. The only problem I have with Chuy's is the fact that the location near my home is almost always packed, so we try to hit it during off-peak hours.

Texans love Chuy's and if you are in search for Tex-Mex, it really is the place to go. This location is across the water from downtown so plan on taking a Lyft there. Once there, you're transported into a Tex-Mex Disneyland serving the best enchiladas in town with a side of margarita. The price is good and portions even better!

The service was scattered and slow. We didn't get plates with our queso, the food took 30 minutes to be served, the seating was cramped and squashed, and my brothers food was cold. I don't think I'll be ever going back.

Great food and service. We have always enjoyed having lunch or dinner here. Great tex mex food. The salsa and chips are great to start off with and then we order the Elvis Presley combo which is always great. We will return.

How can anyone rate Chuy's less than perfect?!? I have been dining at Chuy's for like 10 years now at the Dallas location and finally had the chance to check out the original Austin location when my sister started school at UT. First and only place I just HAD to eat at.

My favorite and regular dish is the Chuy's Special with the deluxe Tomatillo sauce. So yummy. Portions are a little big, but I'm pretty tiny. Sure bigger guys would appreciate. I know it is the original, but taste and flavors are just like the stuff in Dallas I am use to.

Restaurant is kid friendly, and the decor is Kitchy but fun. Space can be a bit tight and the floor level changes a lot and I wouldn't recommend bringing strollers

Dining in the restaurant means unlimited chips and salsa -- and unlimited fresh, house made tortillas! Love!!

This is the go-to place for tex-mex in Austin. My favorite place for queso and the margaritas are decent. I always get the Chuychanga and the green jalapeno sauce is crack. Really good kid's menu too. Always end up wanting to eat my kid's cheeseburger. Overall, good food and atmosphere.

You can tell a lot about a place by their salsa, and Chuy's salsa was amazing! Spicy and tasty and zingy. Apart from that, the boom-boom sauce is another must try for vegetarians.

The rest of the food you can figure out when you get there. But if you're close to Zilker park, don't miss the opportunity to go here!

Excellent happy hours - unlimited nachos and queso! The menu selection is large and so are the portions. I default to Chuy's whenever I'm in the area since it's an easy pick with a reasonable price tag at the end of the meal. Love the burritos!

If you're broke, this is the place to go for Happy Hour. They have a free taco bar and really good drink specials. The food is pretty good, nothing to write home to mom about, but not disappointing either.

Okay place; in terms of quality, I would describe it as diner, as in nothing extraordinary but a place where you can get solid food. Generous portions. I went on a Saturday and got the hatch beef tacos (3), and my food came out quickly.

Pretty crowded restaurant but service was quick regardless. I got the chicken quesadillas which are listed as an appetizer but are large enough to eat as an entire meal. All of the other food looked delicious as well. The chips they give at the beginning are also tasty with the different salsas and dips that they serve alongside them.

Meh
