I used to go here with for chips and queso with my dad after baseball practice growing up. On those afternoons with him it was the best restaurant in the world.

Recently I went back and it was pretty mediocre though. 3/5

I placed a very simple order, fajitas combination and they delivered rubbery chicken with no beef. After speaking with the host, another employee, I was automatically hung up on. Finally, I got the evening manager and she had 0 resolution, or advice. Apparently whoever is packing up to go food is illiterate, chicken x2 is not a combination.

the jalapeno cream dip is to die for and the chips are thin, crispy, and warm. The combo is deliciously delicious. I also recommend the New mexico enchilada with the egg on top. so so good

This is my favorite Tex Mex anywhere. I absolutely love the happy hour taco bar. We go and make a meal of it, while enjoying the buzz of Austin. The thin chips make it easier to eat more toppings,so I really put it down when I am there! Order your guac separate during hpoy hour and you will be SET! The kid love it here, too, cause they give out orabge pushpops for desert.

For an original that went on to become a cookie cutter chain, Chuy's is actually quite good. I wouldn't expect to be blown away, but if you find yourself sauntering by on your way to Barton Springs it's quite adequate for a stop in for a marg and some Mexican.

I love Chuy's and this location doesn't disappoint. Parking can be a hassle here, but it's to be expected at this location. The chuychanga is my favorite and the New Mexican Martini with hatch chiles is the best drink ever.

I was told this place had good Mexican and texmex food and I'll concur. Chuy's is a chain now and this is the first location. Decor is like a 50s diner. Our server was very cheerful and friendly.

Food was cold and the service was terrible. Food was brought out and they left out one person in our group. Finally had to wave someone down to get her food brought out. Not up to the quality of food or service of other Chuy's locations I've been to.

The food is delicious! Way too much food per order. The chips and salsa appetizer was scrumptious. They make a ranch based spicy dip for the chips that is amazing! The ambiance is really festive. The place seems very popular with all the people in it.

I love everything at Chuy's from drinks to the giant Wild Burito. Everyone there works as a great team and gives a wonderful friendly Austin vibe to this unique environment. Having grown up in Austin I've been going to and will continue to go to Chuy's regularly. It does get pretty crazy during peak hours so be prepared to grab a drink from the bar and get some chips from the "car" while you wait for a table.

Great place! Awesome house salsa -it has a nice kick to it. Spicy Cucumber Margarita is a good drink, comes in a mini pitcher. Food is totally awesome. The nachos are eat till you are stuffed good. Go and enjoy!!!

It is definitely Tex Mex, which is not a favorite of mine, if I want greasy food that will stay with you the next day, I'll go all out for Mexican. We go so my husband can eat the entire Elvis Presley Memorial Special..he regrets it every time because it is HUGE.

A happy staff and clean environment pair with a hot meal.
I Have yet to be disappointed by any chuys locations. The downtown Austin vibes of the Barton springs location accent a deliciously satisfying experience!
