I really love the happy hour here! Good drinks and free nacho bar. The staff is friendly and the food is great!! The parking can get tricky at peak hours but other than that it is one of my favorite restrauants in Austin.

People who did not have their whole party got seated and my party didn't because we had one person on the way. One guy even went up to the hostess and said, "can I look for my party? They're waiting for me."

The waiter took forever to take our orders and whenever we asked for something he ignored us. The only thing that was delicious were the margaritas and how could anybody mess up alcohol? Food was gross. Never going back. The staff REALLY doesn't want to work there.

This is store #1 for Chuys and is just as quirky as you would expect. It can get VERY crowded since it is next to Zilker. While it takes care of everyone, the main clientele range from teenagers to UT students to couples with young kids (ex-UT students?). Because of all of these things, service can be spotty. Food is normal Chuys and from my perspective sliding towards more corporate Tex-Mex. If your destination is Barton Springs with a side of Texmex then this is your place. If you are looking for destination Texmex, there are better spots.

Great casual atmosphere and delicious cobb salad and enchiladas, and cocktails. The strawberry mojito is amazing and delivers a good buzz. There can be a bit of a wait so plan on being there early to get a good table. It can get crowded at times. Go to this place and you'll come out believing that Elvis lives!

When Chuy's says they serve food, "As big as yo face," they mean it. I ordered a burrito and when it came out, I was so shocked. It was huge! Their pricing is great for how big of portions you get and their food taste amazing. I will definitely be coming back here.

Had a HORRIBLE experience with a waitress here. She was very rude, hostile and had poor service from the start. The entire time that we (4 of us) were at the restaurant, she acted like we were a major inconvenience for her. She never smiled at us, she acted like she was avoiding us and she seemed to be in a hurry to get away from us. My friend ordered fajitas (during slow time) and when he asked where his food was 45 minutes later, the lady said Oh I m sorry I didn t put in your order because I thought you guys were leaving . My entire group was Deaf, so we all communicated through a notepad, our phones, and through gestures. We accommodated our waitress instead of her accommodating us- at the end of the conversation with our waitress, my friend was understandably upset about his food not coming, and told her he didn t want to read her next note, he wanted to leave. Instead of respecting his wishes, the waitress literally slammed her note in front of him as to force him to read her excuse to why she didn t put in his order??? Then she furiously walked away. Awful service. Very discriminating behavior. Probably never going to another Chuys because of this waitress. We reported this to the manager but unsure if the waitress will get proper training or a warning to improve her interactions because that was definitely the WORST experience I ve ever had in a restaurant.

I go to Chuy's for the spicy Mexican martini's. Best fajita's in town and the steak burrito is my favorite. If you have an itch for something spicy, the Boom Boom Enchiladas are Hot and wonderful.

It's hard to find great customer service anymore. However, our waitress was super awesome! Very attentive and went above and beyond with a very kind and happy attitude. Next time we go, I hope we get seated in her section again.
Bussers were quick to clean up tables around us. The bathroom was clean.
The four stars are for her, minus one for the kitchen being slow.

Placed my order online, after waiting an extra 15 mins after it was suppose to arrive I tried to call and ask when it would be finished. Javier anwser and told me he wasn't the kitchen staff and I need to just keeping waiting. HORRIBLE consumer service!

This is a nicer Chuys. The decor is very much like any other Chuys in town. The food is good and decently priced. I typically get the chicken enchiladas with queso on top. The Chuy-changa is another favorite. You can pick queso as your sauce for everything on the menu, by the way - and that is the way to go. Definitely not for the diet consious.

TOO LOUD! WAITRESS NEVER BROUGHT OUR CREAMY JALAPENO DIP AFTER ASKING 4 TIMES! TABLE WABBLED THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE THERE. WE ENDED UP TAKING OUR FOOD TO GO. BABY A'S AND CHUYS GET THE SAME RATING FROM ME.

I like this restaurant, I haven't been in a long time. It was busy, but we were seated right away. The services was okay, I asked for a lemonade but I got Water with lemon instead. The food though was amazing, always worth the wait.

If I could rate with a negative 5 I would. Service is ALWAYS TERRIBLE...NO MATTER WHAT. Plus, the white male manager working tonight is just as much of an inconsiderate jerk as always. Nothing like trying to talk to someone and getting eyes rolled at while they ignore you...from management! If you hate your job that much...move on!

Came here with my family from out of town. The host squeezed us in a really small, tight booth in the corner. Uncomfortably sitting up against my brother, I'm sure I'm carrying his baby now. The food is actually good, if you like eating out of a kiddy pool.

This is the original location, on Barton Springs. Showing its age in some places, but the food is still top-notch --not the run-of-the-mill Tex-Mex that we have more than enough of. I particularly appreciate their veggie enchiladas. Most Tex-Mex restaurants now have spinach enchiladas, but most places don't really put much thought or effort into making them good. Chuy's makes 'em special--and doesn't charge any more than the places that make 'em ordinary. Drinks seem overpriced to me, but then they seem overpriced everywhere; I guess that''s how restaurants make their money. My wife ordered a chicken salad, and the chicken was really good--smoky and tender, but not mushy. Veggies were fresh and tasty.

Great Tex Mex food. I like the fish tacos. They've got a wonderful sauce on them. Wait staff is friendly. It looks like they have a lot of fun at work. Parking is a small issue at the Barton Springs Rd location. About 10 free spots on front and a few more 20 in back. Then there's metered parking on the street.
