Awesome salsas! Even before you start ordering, you can't stop eating the chips with their salsas. Very savory and tasty and somewhat addictive, haha.

Food is great, fresh, well presented and portioned correctly, not too much and not too little. I had the relleno with shrimp and it was crispy and very flavorful, it came with a fat enchilada full of savory beef fajita, which was awesome and the beef was cooked just right and very tender. I really liked the food!

My server was Freddie, he is an awesome waiter, he makes sure you get what you order, quick, and in a very funny and friendly way. Next time you go, ask to have him as your server. You won't regret it!

If you live in Central Texas, you know that you likely have dozens upon dozens of Tex-Mex dining options within just a few miles from where you live. And many of these places offer very good food with fun atmospheres. So what separates the best from the rest? It's the little things they do or offer that stay with you long after you leave. I have personally eaten at over 20 mexican restaurants over the last couple of years, but Chueys is still my favorite in Austin. They do have the really fun atmosphere, with color and character. They have a really friendly staff that are very genuine when they give you a smile. And they offer up tasty variants of every dish a Tex-mex restaurant should offer. But there are a ton of little things that add to the experience to have you leave very happy. My favorite thing is a salsa they serve called "Hatch Green Salsa" and it is the best salsa I have had in my life. And I'm not lying, and I have had a lot of salsa. But this is perfect. It is served hot, and it is hot with spice. The perfect hot. And full of good taste. You have to ask for it, but do it! You won't refgret it, I put it on everything. Especially for a chain, this is my favorite Tex-mex place to eat at in Austin. Try them out!

Visiting Austin? You have to stop by Chuy's for some classic Tex Mex with a modern twist. I recommend the Boom Boom sauce if you like your food with a little extra kick! Everything my group has was delicious and the wait staff was helpful and attentive. The decor reminds me of a 1950s diner and they sell some unique t-shirts in the gift shop.

Great Mexican food. It was incredibly busy and we got seated immediately. The service was impressive especially considering the crowd. I ll definitely go back next time we visit Austin! Thank you.

The food is pretty good. This location is always packed, so expect long waits for every step of the experience and don't be surprised when the wait staff is a bit spacey from all the hustling.

I was charged 3 times for 3 different amount totaling over $400! Night manager told me to go in next morning and they would refund me if they had not fallen off! Morning manager rudely told me it s sunday banks are closed! Well lady it s Wednesday and your fraudulent charges are still pending! She wasn t concerned that it was three different amounts by huge differences $179 $160 and $63! Will not do business here again no customer service at all!

Great place for a big group. Food is amazing as well if you're looking for Tex-Mex. The portions are quite large so we usually end up having some left overs to take home we can enjoy the next day which is nice.

Obviously still haven t figured out curbside. I waited long after five cars that arrived after me had been served. No ability to make special requests. The cheese on my wife s tacos all carbon was all melted into everything. Not on the side as served in the restaurant. My wife can t eat cheese. All in all a zero star experience.

We waited 1+ hour to get a table during a busy dinner time. But worth the wait! You get a text when a table is free. The bar is open for drinks while waiting.
Free chips and dip. The food was tastey and in large portions.

Best Tex-Mex in Austin. Fresh tortillas, perfectly cooked meat, and a great variety of enchilada sauce options. The chicken is not dry- very nice! Also a great option for takeout- the quality doesn t diminish. Easy to reheat in oven.

I friggin love Chuys! The queso is great. The chips are made there. The atmosphere is fun. The queso bar is free from 4-7pm on weekdays. I love the Mexicobb salad, the jalapeno ranch dressing, the Chicka boomboom enchilada... I have said over and over again: the only thing that Chuys could do to be more perfect is have a playground for my kids to burn off energy. I'm so glad there are locations all over the country now.

Best Taco Salad! Beef fajita was just done right! Loved it! Multiple vegan choices too. Vegan burrito was delicious! Not expensive. $32 for two people and avocado appetizer. If anything negative, maybe, the wait 25 mins- normal in Austin, but with the environment, food and music it didn t seem to matter...

This place is always crowded and always hyped up. The food isn't bad by any means, it's just undeserving of all the praise. The elvis decor is cool, a weird austin spot for sure. Because they're usually busy, the service isn't super attentive, but it's good enough. I did go through a phase where I craved their baja shrimp tacos constantly. And the creamy jalapeno stuff is actually pretty delicious.

After a long day of biking a stop here was great! The waitress was so sweet and understood my struggle lol she packed my food up right away seeing I was exhausted and not able to eat!! I wish I remembered her name! Food was yummy once I got back to the room!!!

This is an Austin staple, get the boom boom sauce which is essentially spicy (green chilie) queso.

Lots of people like the creamy jalapeno sauce, and it's good but... If you've ever had jalapeno ranch before that's basically what it tastes like

Parking, seating, and then the restroom were a little bit of a challenge, but well worth putting up with. I really got my Tex-Mex fix. Good food, helpful, cheery staff. Kudos to Katz the bartender who knew the idiosyncrasies and nuances of various different MENU items . . . good advice . . . the atmosphere was fun and uplifting, the special of the day was reasonably priced, and the service was excellent.

Great location. So close to ZIlker and Barton Springs. Again, Barton Springs Rd has some bad drivers and blind spots so watch out when entering/exiting.

There are two entrances to this place, one in the front which is where the host/hostesses are, and one in the back by the parking lot.

Parking can be rough if its busy, but Ive never had to wait long for a spot. If you want to park right away, I would suggest going down to Shady Grove parking lot, they have a big lot. I doubt anyone is watching so dont worry about getting towed.

Chuy's has a huge bar/waiting area with a chips/salsa stand which is self serve. You might just fill up on chips!

The margaritas are also very good. My buddy gets the marg with sangria swirl - she loves them.

The food can get pretty spicey so dont order anything too adventurous if you plan on drinking or going out afterwards. Or go for it, whatever. The chicka chicka boom boom is pretty good and you will see other reviews gushing over it. I think everything on the menu is pretty satisfying. The queso is great. Theres also a "light menu" (if youre too full from chips and salsa).

Guys: lots of very good looking girls come here. I think chuy's translates into "chick magnet". I was never very good at Mandarin.

The original Chuy's is a local landmark. You can expect great food but a bit of a wait for a table. The location may also feel a bit cramped at times and you may struggle to find parking, but that's normal for downtown Austin. I've never been disappointed with their daily specials and the drinks generally last the whole meal. This is a chain that still stands up against the fierce competition for Tex-Mex in the Austin area.

Very good food and service! Elijah was excellent. He found out that it was my first time there, and brought out a dessert that could have had four people. Tres Leches, it was to die for. Very yummy. The chips are nice and thin - my favorite. A bit noisy. Bathroom was clean. Not sure about parking as I parked somewhere else, hiked, and walked to Chuy's. Will definitely visit again.

Parking is a nightmare, but it's worth it. The food is above average tex mex and the wait staff are quick and efficient. They don't take reservations which is lame, but they do turnover tables with some decent speed. My favorite is the fajita burrito.
