Love love ! Excellent authentic mexico food with green chili
Amazing mexican food, and it has everything you would expect from a nice sit down mexican food joint. The only complaint I have is that the portions (like many sit down restaurants) are simply too large, and I always feel tempted to eat all of it because it is so good, and I leave with a stuffed stomach, and can barely move! I have learned my lesson though, and just eat half every time, and take the other half home for left overs.
I have visited this place since the mid 80's. Always good.
Good food. Service could have been a little better as they got my order switched and didn't have time to switch it over lunch as I was in a rush. No biggie.
A favorite! Reasonably priced, tasty tex mex food and margaritas. Friendly and fast service.
Food is always to spicy and no flavor. Always to loud!
Ordinarily I visit location on Lamar and 183 but today I visited Barton Springs chuy's. This chuy's let me down big time! I ordered cheese quesadillas and my guest had beef fajita quesadillas. Both of our quesadillas hardly had cheese inside. It was extremely skimpy. Please view my pink highlighter in picture. It represents the cheese ratio.
The Thursday special is AMAZING. I need to go back and get more of it.
Friendly service, great atmosphere.
Austin tradition... Quirky, eclectic, with their own style of Mexican food. Try the ' Elvis' and ask for it 'my way'. Definitely not for anyone watching their calories!
Waitress was really good food was good just wish the salsa was a little tastier
Great food and atmosphere. Fast service. And friendly.
Meh. Dusty decor. Mediocre food. My wife likes the tortilla soup. I don't know but I'd say go to Matt's El Rancho instead if you want good Tex-Mex...
What is there to say about Chuy's? As synonymous with Austin as music and bats! Don't try the jalapeno ranch, it's really crack and you will never be the same.
Our waitress was super accommodating with many demands from our table. Our food was extremely delicious. Just what I needed after a long friday!!!
Had the best steak burrito of my life. It was so good, that we went back a second time and I had it again (we were only in Austin a short time). Seriously, go here.
Gets busy and a bit crowded, but same good food and queso.
The original one. You do not want the unoriginal anywhere out of Austin.
Great atmosphere. Good food. Had a fantastic server.
Food was ok not the best beans didn't taste to good food look good.rice was dry
Burnt food, I was told this place was great but the food was burnt and just overall not that good.
Quueeeessssooooo!!!! Usually loud and packed but service is quick. Also queso!
Great service and atmosphere, bartender was genuine in character.
This Texas place did not have quite the authentic feel as my Indianapolis Mexican restaurant, ironically, but hey, I get why they are popular. Food was good and festive atmosphere. Their tres leches cake was VERY good, and that special sauce was nice too. The chicken they used in their recipes is roasted and pulled everyday which is noticeable...very yummy.
Love going to Chuys, whether if it's with some friends to have some margaritas and some good Mexican food or just to pick up chips and the creamy jalapeno sauce. You can never go wrong going to Chuys.
Thebfood is great and all the peaple were nice i recomenedebtiping lucia the cheff
Great margs, chips and salsa. Had the chicken enchiladas - super spicy and delish. Also great atmosphere and friendly staff
Do not forget to try their boom boom sauce. Great frozen margaritas. Amazing food!!
Rude over the phone. I'll just cook. Management called back and apologized. She stated that they're really busy. I hope they hire more people if that is the issue.
The best queso I've ever had, it was addicting. Fantastic food and great service!
An Austin staple for a reason. The Mexican Martini is a must try!
Good for drinks and the ranch salsa is pretty awesome. The food leaves a bit to be desired but it's a good place for drinks after work and this is my favorite austin location.
I love Chuy's. This location is usually very busy and usually wait staff is hopping, but on top of it.
The original and still the best! I've been eating at Chuy's for about 30 years and I'm still a regular. This is what Tex-Mex is supposed to be!
Decent food, large portions, fair prices. Cool t-shirts also at a good price :)
We love Chuy's! This is the best Tex-Mex in Austin!
Great spot for Tex Mex. Good location within the city. Not too far from Zilker and Barton Springs. Can be hard to find parking on a busy night but well worth it
I have been coming here for the past 30 years. I have never been disappointed! I love this place. It is truly Austin.
cute restaurant with retro decor, Elvis Presley Memorial Enchilada combo was amazing! A lot of food for what you pay for. Free chips and salsa while waiting for a seat, the mojito was nice and strong
The food was amazing and my family was impressed by the portions of food . I'm visiting from Dallas and I must say this is one of the best spots in Austin.
Love Chuy's ! Inexpensive, fast, and really delicious food ! I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough !
Very busy place. Went there for lunch. Green chile spinach chicken enchiladas were great.
you can't beat Chuy's yummy margaritas and food.. let's not forget about that creamy jalapeno dip!!!
Austin's classic TexMex restaurant. Amazing food. Try the blue corn tortilla. Fun place to eat.
This is the original Chuy's and it feels like it as it is smaller then the newer ones. It is typical of a Chuy's in decorations and in very good food. It was fun to come and have good mexican food and see where this excellent chain started.
Delicious food! Authentic Tex Mex! Service was good and lot of vegetarian options. Ambiance is lively. There's a lot of crowd during peak hours. Expect to wait around 20 mins. They serve free salsa and chips too.
Not bad, but a little overrated IMO. Worth it for the ambiance, but I can think of better Tex-Mex in town.
Dang this place is good! It has great Tex Mex and the price is reasonable.
Good food for cheap. Still not as good as Papasitos though.
Chuy's has yet to let me down. It is my go-to Mexican restaurant. I love their crispy tacos...and of course the Creamy Jalapeno chip dip.
The origional chuys apparently they'll probably tell you about it
Amazing food, drinks, and wonderful service here. We got confused and ordered an additional drink, but the waiter at the waiting area was so nice to cancel the drink after it was ready. Also nothing beats the Chuy's Chicka chicka boom boom.
texmex at this place - super tasty. entered near eleven, it wasn't packed. i've had nothing but pleasant experiences here and plan to keep coming back. prices were reasonable.
Service was excellent, but the food could have been better. Everything turned out much spicier than other times I've been.
What a great spot. Have been coming here for years. I love Chuys so much. The new covid-inspired patio seating is actually fantastic. Wish they had done that way earlier.
Short walk from the springs and park nearby. The food was really fantastic. Super busy on a summer weekend, but they have ample seating inside to accommodate.
Sometimes a bit hard to flag down a waiter, and they forgot a few things, but the food was the real star of the show anyway. It's Tex-Mex done right.
I got the combo platter because I wanted to try everything. The flat taco thing was a bit hard to hold and eat cause it was so loaded, so I'd go with a taco or burrito if I had the chance to go again.
Yummy yummy. Great margarita, chicken burrito as big as your face and jalapeno ranch to die for. Just go and try yourself.
Always a good option! Service is great and the food is on point. Worth the wait.
Amazing Tex-Mex food. Must stop when visiting Texas, specifically the city of Austin.
Food is good, drinks are great, and a regular stop for myself and my family. The only hang up we have is sometimes when we have ordered take out (Arbor Trails location), if we go in to get the food, there are several employees hanging around the host stand that don t try to help. It looks like they are just standing around waiting for someone else to take care of the take out customers. Seems very inefficient and can be frustrating. Otherwise the food is why we go.
I went to the location in Plano and this was a much different experience. In a word - AMAZING. We had to wait for a table as one would expect on a Saturday night, but it was worth it. The hot sauce was spicy just as I prefer. The strawberry margarita was delicious. I ordered the nachos - meatless. They were the best I've ever eaten. They actually make each one individually out of half a corn tortilla. They were crisp and the toppings tasted fresh. The service was incredible. If you love Mexican food - Go Go Go to Chuy's on Barton Springs!
Very customer focused. We ordered, were served and cashed out in 45 minutes!
