This place is a Tex-Mex masterpiece. Menu is very Tex. Drinks are perfectly Mex-- or vice versa no one's exactly sure, really. Glorious gooey cheesey goodness guaranteed, every time. Walk here, bike here. Minutes from Zilker Park. An outstanding Tex-Mex template for all others. Quirky interior. Solid man, just SOLID.
Really good Tex-Mex in a 1960's retro atmosphere. We had chicken tacos and enchiladas. Delicious. Good service, the food came out quickly, nice and hot. I recommend Chuy's highly.
My go to Tex-Mex restaurant. They now offer an option to get your name on the list in advance. Lots of memories here
First time that a waitress gives me bad service I thought it was only at my table but it was also like that with the other 2 tables I was in charge of. Disappointed.
Atmosphere was fun, food was good and the service fantastic. We were a party of 9 and our server did a great job keeping our drinks topped up and getting our food out quickly. Plus she was really knowledgeable about the menu which helped us a ton. The food was worth the wait. The portions were large and flavorful. The server was attentive to our allergen requirements and brought the drink refills quickly. The restaurant is kid friendly.
The salsa tasted like it was out of a can and the beans tasted instant. The beef was really good, though.
No seating and we had to wait a hour to be seated so disappointed..
Very authentic food and atmosphere, great service friendly staff and clientele
Chuy's is one of those great restaurants that never gets old. My favorite part about Chuy's is going during happy hour for their free queso! I have only ever had their chimichanga there but it is very good! Best part of Chuy's is their jalepeno cream sauce. The only reason I took off a star is because the service can be hit or miss due in part to how many people are there.
I could go there and just eat queso and jalapeno ranch all day every day. But lucky for me they have other great food to go with it. Try it all, I have yet to have anything bad there.
Only down side to the place is they can get very busy, and you'll have to wait. So do not go during peak times, and it'll be great.
This place has great american texmex food. The sauces are good. It's not the most authentic restaurant so I actually like it. The service can be a little rough sometimes. It's very canned and formulated texmex. which is not necessarily a bad thing. The jalepeno sauce is amazing. The food is just to have something to put sauce on.
Service was good and the food was fine. We had the beef fajitas. Our server was very attentive.
One of my favorite Tex-Mex restaurants. Love the baja fish tacos!
Good food, good margaritas, good prices. What else do you need???
Wow. Our Austin-based daughter took us here for our first experience at Chuy's and it was great. Didn't see anything on the menu that wasn't tempting.
Decent food 5 star, with endless salsa and chips, but it was packed to the GILLS and the air conditioning was not working or working poorly as it was super hot and stuffy inside. Turned what should have been an otherwise nice experience into only a 3 star experience for me and my family.
Amazing lunch. Best enchilada ever and the service was great. A must visit when in Austin for casual dining and great Mexican food.
The creamy jalapeno sauce is delicious! I could have just eaten chips with this dip for dinner I had the fish tacos for dinner. They were good but not great.
The food and cocktails are not exceptional but it's not bad at all. During happy hour they have a free queso bar which is just tops! Big fan of this place just for the queso bar
A must got to place if you are in Austin. The taste of the food is amazing. Enjoy the free nachos and dips. Do try out Tres leches cake. Its out of the world.
Not sure what the big deal is about this place. It's Mexican food in Austin Texas. The food is good. It is always super busy and really loud. If you don't mind not being able to carry on a conversation, then this place is perfect.
Rude hostesses that thought customers existed to serve them.
Love this place! Their chips are salsa are great and they have some good entrees. It's also great that there are a few locations in Austin. Be prepared for a long wait during the lunch and dinner hours so do show up with your stomach completely empty.
Just about everything is amazing here. Always go with the Boom Boom sauce.
Great place for classic Tex-Mex. They have a salsa bar with queso, refried beans and ground beef during happy hour. Get a margarita and enjoy a night at the bar.
Always happy with the food here. Especially good for happy hour taco bar, and the swirl or dot margaritas which are frozen lime and strawberry.
GREAT experience here. The food was delicious. I also want to thank Griselda for being a awesome server! Definitely will return!
Chuy's is an Austin classic. If you think you like TexMex this is a must! The decor is fun and as distinct as Austin itself. Their drinks are up to par and original, and the food is amazing. The restaurant can be noisy, so be prepared for that, but the service is fast and friendly. Parking sometimes can be a little bit of a pain as well, since it's in a prime location and extremely popular. All in all, if you haven't ever been to a Chuy's or if you have been to a different one, check this one out, as it's the cream of the crop.
I was hungry and looking for a great place to eat a burrito and my friend told me about this place and man o man was this place awesome. The burrito was the bomb tots coming back.
Chuy's is ok for a chain - decent but not amazing food. The special ranch sauce is great.
Neat place with yummy Tex-Mex. Steak burrito is delicious as well as chicken enchiladas.
VERY crowded but the food is good. They have indoor and outdoor seating and booths. We shared an order of fajitas between two people and it was plenty of food.
Always enjoy it.the.staff is great and the food is good. Free queso and chips for happy hour is awesome
Great Tex mex food! Go on their recommended dishes, you'll not gonna regret
If you like chips and salsa, don t worry;-) They offer unlimited supply to homeless people. Jk:-) The food is fresh and delicious. The Rita s are the best. Just order on the rocks, salt and you re good to go.
came with a friend who was new to texas. it was a busy day so service was limited but the food was good and we had a fun time! a good place to bring guests
This is the original location. Best queso... so order it.... and the margarita.
the margaritas are good and happy hour is the time to go
Allan or waiter at chuys was awesome !!! Great service, yummy food. Best Happy hour in ATX.
I have a special place in my heart for this place, and when I see one away from home (aka: Houston), I know home isn't too far! I will never go hungry when there is a big as yo face burrito with a lip smackin margarita waiting for me a chuy's .. Good Time, Old school, down home Tex-mex
Tex Mex heaven! Great place gto go for good food, kitschy decor and burritos as big as yo' face.
Nothing was too exciting about the food. The decor, service, and atmosphere are great though.
Outstanding! Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Burrito was great. I usually don't like Tres Leches but the table shared one for dessert & we were all astounded at how excellent it was! Highly recommend this, the original, location.
My least favorite location. Overcrowded/slow service. Some of the staff are rude. If you are new to Austin/Chuy's, I would recommend going to ANY of the other locations as you will have a better experience.
Amazing flavors...great service (Morgan).....fun atmosphere
Delicious. Come for happy hour. Free nacho bar with the good stuff... and then some! Great drinks, food, and friendly staff. Our server Alberto was excellent.
The atmosphere and food were fantastic. We were in Austin visiting our friends for the weekend. I am looking forward to going back and eating at Chuy's in the future.
I ordered fajitas to go and Chuy's had messed up on the order. I hadn't noticed till I got home. The manager Mathew went above and beyond and corrected this mistake by refunding me my money and made a completely fresh order when I came back. Fantastic customer service and response by management. Would recommend to all and will continue to return!
Some of the best margaritas and Mexican food in Austin. This location is conveniently located within walking distance of Zilker Park.
Reliably good food. Large portions. Colorful atmosphere
Awesome little downtown place with great character.
Order online, grab freechips (and cheese) during HH and a cheap drink. Walk out with food in 10-15. Always good stuff
Love the boomboom sauce and the jalapeno ranch dip. The Elvis decor, great service, and tasty food makes this a great place to take out of towners who want a little taste of Austin life.
We always eat at the Barton Springs Chuy's when we're in Austin. Never disappointed!
Always great food and attentive and friendly staff.
This place is an Austin staple. Always packed and great food specials and drinks. The only draw back is it can get too crazy on a Friday night but that s no issue for them. Full service at the bar and the Mexi- tini hits the spot. Highly recommend.
It was nice to have Mexican food during so much of rain it got more tasty
Average tex mex with good margaritas. I'm not a big fan of the food, but the jalapeno chip dip - so amazing! I really would only come for happy hour and that dip, but it is worth it. Also, a cool atmosphere with each room designed unique - like the chihuahua bar.
You better NOT go! Hostess mislead and mistreated us. Poor service! Had to leave! So disappointed! I've been before and it was good. Hopefully you don't have the same experience.
The service is always really great at Chuys. The staff is knowledgeable and happy to be there. The food is good Tex-mex. Nothing too special but it is still tasty. A little known secret is HAPPY HOUR! 4-7 weekdays free queso and deals on drinks. Can't be that. After you hit up Barton Springs for a refreshing dip, head over to Chuys for a nice drink to make your day especially Austin-y.
Excellent enchiladas and other standard Tex-Mex food, but also with some unique items. Good margaritas, of course!
