I was treated in the Emergency Room. Everyone was very professional and prompt. They even called to check on me the next day and make sure I was able to get a follow up appointment with an orthopedic doctor as soon as possible! I ve been going to Johnston Willis for years. My youngest child was born there, I ve had several surgeries and procedures there as well as diagnostic testing and preventative care. I would definitely and have recommend Johnston Willis Hospital to others.

I recently had two bladder tumors removed at Johnston Willis Hospital during outpatient surgery and I was very pleased with everything. Since all went well I did not have to stay overnight. I had never been there but if I need future care in a Hospital that certainly will be my first choice. My urologist Dr. Jeffrey Rebman who does surgeries at Johnston Willis Hospital was awesome! I just hope they keep up the good work at the hospital.

The staff was great! Throughout each step of the process I felt like I was the only patient. My favorite nurses were in post-op and recovery. They really took great care of me. I felt okay going home the same day of an emergency surgery.

Brought my fiancee in for high blood sugar, 3 1/2 hrs later after listening to all the nurse's and doctor's talk about their social lives and social media we were informed that they have no idea what caused a 590 spike in blood sugar!! But we thank you for the thousands in dollars we are going to charge you for doing absolutely nothing!!! Seriously unless you're dying find somewhere else to go!!!

I was there twice in less than 24 hours with the same issue and received a big bill to pay. The staff was pretty good on the first visit. The second visit the wait was so long the the staff appeared to be overwhelmed. I use to work for HCA and when I was seen as a patient while employed I can say it was a much better experience.

All in all, my experience was quite positive. However, for $1000 a night, or is it two or three thousand a night, I think i should have a private bathroom. There is no excuse for this low standard!!!

I'd never had any type of medical procedure done in my entire life. Not even an IV. Everyone was so patient and sweet. They put up with my numerous questions, and answered everything with a smile. I would HIGHLY recommend the surgical center.

First visit. Extremely clean, including the public bathrooms. I m not sure what the greeters are called, who helped me check in, but she was extremely pleasant and helpful. Love the electronic checkin, although my session timed out due to personal issues, non computer related. All the help who attended to me were awesome, very friendly and put me at ease. Dr. Jindal was very professional and welcoming. Only difficulty was inserting the IV which was due to dehydration because of the nature of the test. I highly recommend this facility. My next procedure already scheduled here. Thank you for a great experience for a not so fun procedure.

Been going to JWH for 15yrs for mamo, also had 3 procedures, have taken family members too! Last yr a family member had a procedure and the out patient dept. was all together. The nursing supervisor visited and engaged with patient and family. JWH is for medical care and thus far, they nurture you with care and beyond!

I came in there with one symptom, another issue was discovered. I was given medication for that however my original symptom was still there. I later went to see my doctor and was given a prescription medication for my original symptom. Second time I've came and nothing was given to help my reasoning for going into the ER in the first place. However, the staff was great especially my nurses on both trips.

The Emergency Department at Johnston Willis is disgraceful. They rarely have a competent front desk person. The nurses are EXCELLENT! Sadly they are backed up by lazy careless doctors. God forbid there is something truly wrong with you. You will likely die at home after waiting hours to be seen and told your Ok. I visited with complaints about my ankle on a few seperate occasions. They first said it was a bone bruise, then heel spurs, and finally just sprained. After years of pain and knowing something felt wrong I went to see and orthopedist. Turns out I had been wabbling around with crushed bones in my foot for nearly 2 years. Thanks CJW. I would NEVER recommend them for urgent care!!!

Poor quality of care.. I presented in ER for high potassium level and was in for about 4 hours, I am diabetic and did not have anything to eat during that time. With my IV I received Insulin , but was not told my sugar level. I was discharged and and went to hospital pharmacy. Within 30 minutes I had severe sugar crash and could barely make it back to ER after eating some sugar. My glucose level was still low.
I request a formal inquiry as to whether appropriate care was given

Sent home with 2 black and swollen eyes (and double vision) blamed on tape allergy ?? Ophthalmologist says I have Diplopia and Edema Eyelid in both eyes. He will do eye exam tomorrow for new glasses which I did not need before my surgery. Before surgery I was 20/20, and on Friday 20/30 in right eye and 20/25 in left eye. He will also need to add prisms in lenses to correct the new double vision problem.

Very friendly and helpful staff and decent wait time. I only gave 4 stars because of wait time. I understand without appointments and schedules, then times of waiting can be long. However, if you are schedule, for example, like me to get an ultrasound done, then it should not take up to almost an hour before that is completed. That is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Good job and keep it up.

I went for a test. Check in was easy. Test done by a very pleasant radiologist. I was told test results would be available in 24 to 48 hours. A week later and I still dont have any results. Disappointing. This has been stressful, and not getting results doesn't help.

While the circumstances requiring my being treated at JWH are bizarre, my treatments were very good. Everyone I interacted with were very kind, personable and professional. I spent 2 nights in the Neuroscience ICU.

All my nurses were exceptionally nice, with one exception, they would not let me get out of bed and go to bathroom ALONE. That really bugged me as I pride myself on being independent. Two of them named me Ms Independent (lol). Their names were Laura and Sonnia. I don t recall names of all who assisted in my great care but another one was named Martha, and I remember her name because she had heard of Stuart, Martinsville and Floyd VA which is the area I grew up in.
THANK YOU GUYS FOR YOUR WONDERFUL CARE AND PATIENCE!!

The nursing staff is amazing! I couldn t have asked for better people to support my labor, delivery, and many, many questions with after care!!! They truly have amazing patience and care for their patients. Lauren Z. was truly a blessing during my labor. I had a lot of trouble with the epidural and she was so wonderful about trying to make me comfortable. She was extremely attentive and showed great concern for my care.

The main problems I had during my stay were related to the facility itself. My labor bed was HORRENDOUS and uncomfortable. I was already in a great deal of pain with labor, but that bed did me no favors. Not to mention that one of the labor leg stirrups was broken, but you don t know that until you re about to push. It s a little late then to change our beds.

My husband s sleeping arrangements were awful as well. Poor thing slept very little and uncomfortably as he tried to still be there for me and the baby during this whole process. It would have been nice to have something more appropriate for his stay than that couch.

Finally, we received our first food services option the day AFTER I delivered. I was admitted Thursday morning and didn t have any offer for food until Saturday when I inquired with the staff about it. Luckily I had people coming by and offering to bring food, however, I would think that the food services should be offered 3 times a day unless medically not permitted.

Overall, the staff at Johnston Willis is amazing, but the facility needs some legitimate attention to improve upon areas that should be guaranteed components of a comfortable stay in a hospital.

I just came in 5 mins ago with my man with horrific pain to his abdomen. I pulled up in er with him hanging out of my truck and there was no one there to help us at front door. The intake nurse just stood there with the wheelchair saying she was helping us. I said I need help getting him out of my truck. He continued to throw up and cry out in pain. Not even the White officer standing at front desk offered to help. He started throwing up and she just stood there. Now maybe I have it messed up on how things work at hospital er... But damn.. didn't know the only help they can give someone who can't stand is a wheelchair and wait for u to get in it. . Why do our experience at this hospital that is 6 mins from our home have to be this way? Make me want to drive the extra few miles to mcv where they are more diverse and show compassion. Super tired of the lazyness at this hospital. Not my first bad experience but my first time being mad enough to complain.

In an overnight stay, nursing care was not very responsive to the call button. In one instance I had to send my adult son to find a nurse. Surgery was effective and I would rate it much higher than the aftercare.

Before my procedure at Johnston-Willis hospital, a woman phoned me to ask about my health and medications. In the end, she insisted that I carry my driver's license and my health insurance cards. Upon entering nobody would like to see my ID cards. The time for the procedure was at two, but it did not begin until half past three. All the nurses and doctors were so professional and pleasant that I would recommend Johnston-Willis staff to everyone.

Everyone was very kind, and I felt I was in good hands. However, during the late hours, when my pain was at it's peak, no one could explain to me what exactly was going on, what exactly surgically had been done--apparently more than just my thyroid had been removed--and my chest hurt terribly. It hurt to breathe deeply. They kept telling me they couldn't take all my pain away, and I said, I just wanted them to take SOME of it away. I think if I knew WHY I was having more than the expected amount of pain--because lymph nodes had been extracted from the central compartment of my neck--I would have not been so anxious about how much it hurt when I tried to take a deep breath. I was surprised the nurses didn't KNOW that. I mean, knowledge is helpful. Right?

Having not stepped foot inside this hospital in 10+ years, I was a bit intimidated by the sheer size of Johnston-Willis's development. Thankfully there was a very curteous and helpful employee at the front desk who personally walked me to the area I needed to get to. Everyone else that I interacted with was kind, professional, and helpful. Very pleased with this experience and hospital.

Every one of the staff members from receptionist to nurses to doctors to CNAs, techs, housekeeping, food service, and financial representatives was kind, professional, caring and considerate. The women's wing I was on was quiet and allowed for rest after surgery.

This was my first major surgery and I was quite impressed with the hospital, surgery center and care shown throughout.

My only recommendation would be an improved furnishing for a family member to sleep on. I was blessed to have my sister with me, but not sure she was very comfortable. Having spent many nights in hospitals with my husband, I know those recliners are not the best. Everytime you move, they want to fold back up.

Overall, excellent job everyone! I thank God for you!

Terrible place. It's a maze there with maps or anything to help. The medical equipment looked at it was from the 80's in the Emergency Room. The doctors in the Emergency room were rude and disingenuous. Doesn't seem like anyone was communicating with each other. Took over 45 minutes to be discharged when there were maybe five other non-emergency patients besides me. I had an piercing in my lip stuck and they cut it off and I obviously was upset and freaked out as they were cutting it out and they ignored me as I tried asking questions. The emergency room doctors and nurses were talking to each other about lunch rather to me as I was obviously freaked out and crying. Stay away from both Johnston-Willis Hospital and Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center.
