I love visiting here, we always have fun. Staff are usually friendly and very helpful. Good food! We stay at Chinook Winds Hotel because there are rooms where smoking is permitted. The rooms are quite nice, and reasonably priced.
My first Thanksgiving at their buffet was very disappointing. Tasteless dry turkey meat, and the prime rib was so tough it wasn t eatable.
I won t go back.
THE NEWLY RENOVATED ROOM WAS BEAUTIFUL WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE DIRTY FITTED SHEET ON ONE OF THE BEDS. THE HIGH DOLLAR RESTAURANT IN THE CASINO HAD EXCELLENT FOOD, THE SERVICE WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORSE,WHICH IS TOO BAD.
This place smelled horrible. I couldn't stay in there long because of the horrible smoke smell. There was a small area for non smoking gambling but it opened up into the main area that was filled with smoke. I will not be going back here
I only am reviewing the casino portion. Place seemed a little dated but it wasn't dirty or anything like that. Was able to find a blackjack table easily, but the dealers weren't real talkative. Overall, decent experience but nothing to write home about
Slots were good. The roulette table was a disaster. We were there around noon. Two or three people playing. Bought in, was doing ok, then everyone else left. The dealer started with the quick spins. I got 3/4 of my bets down. The very next spin, she did it again. I raked all my chips off. The irony is that I was alone at the table! Her relief person did the same thing! Twice! I colored up, and left. Won't go back, at least to the tables. (Oh, and i was the only one tipping... go figure)
They have alot of newer machines. The buffet is definitely very good food and the lady who assigns you to a waiter was definitely a good one lol. She really had me cracking up a real sense of humor. I was disappointed that the dessert section is way smaller than it used to be probably because vivid rules tho. The bartenders we're very nice and made some good drinks.
This review is for the steakhouse only. Excellent food, and I do mean excellent. My wife's prime rib was prepared exactly as she ordered. Even the sides were above average. I had the baby carrots - wonderful! The portions were huge, which to me translates as wasteful, and the prices were a bit high. Go there for a fantastic dining experience, not for a budget conscious meal.
Clean rooms and great hotel staff have made this trip to the beach a great vacation. An hour away from Tillamook and Newport.
The seafood buffet at the casino had an excellent selection. Try the crab, prime rib and made to order shrimp scampi. You won't be disappointed.
The hotel offers a 24 hour shuttle service to and from the casino which was great considering it rained and the wind was blowing about 60 mph. The kids love the pool and arcade.
Your entire family will enjoy the experience at this family friendly coastal gaming resort.

Went to the Marine corps dinner tonight which was awesome in the steakhouse the staff was very on top of everything there I congratulate them and thank them very much for job well done. and I guess we're all safe you walk in Chinooks now they make you stand on the square with your feet and they do a scan of you make sure you're not running a fever I suppose and let you pass through so kudos to the casino for doing their best to keep people safe.
I don't stay here often but this place is beautiful. It's one of my favorite places at the coast. The drinks are good and the staff are a delight. Both the hotel and motel are great with beach view and just a parking lot away from casino
This is a fun and very nice casino. There are a lot of slot machines and table games to choose from.
The slot machines are tight, it is nice to be able to play for awhile, but these machines didn't allow you to play for long without losing.
The roulette table was another matter. It was very fun and the dealer was great. She was so personable and friendly.
Low lighting feels dreary, and poor ventilation gives the place a feel and smell reminiscent of my grandma's house in the 80's (not in a good way). Stale cigarette smoke. Not my preferred casino environment.

A beautiful facility, the food is good to fantastic. Multiple bars and restaurants. Staff is friendly and helpful. My husband and I are non-smokers, we had no issues with smoke in the casino.
The waitress was really nice. The good was absolutely tasteless. Had fried razor clams.kids had surf-n-turf. Crab + a shrimp coctail again no flavor. Cost $215. + casino is a smoking building nasty. Do not recomend rouge river steak house

It's ok I guess and glad to see more updating since past visits. My issue is the crazy food prices especially the buffet prices!
I really wish they'd ban smoking in casinos. Wait time for food at the deli was over an hour. The restraunt upstairs was fantastic. Views were wonderful. Bathrooms were clean. Valet was on point.

Had a great time one of the best weekends I've ever had they brought me cigarettes and a glass of whiskey while I was on the machines!
Wow... What a joke. First you have to pay to drink and it's above bar prices. Second good luck is mandatory. Unless your betting 30 cents these machines just take your money and don't pay out. Your better off going to a local bar where the drinks are cheaper and playing the video lottery machines. I am an avid gambler, I have never seen so many machines this tight.
Staying here was the best of our vacation. We loved how we had our first time bonfire. The ocean view is also special. The receptionist who helped us last night, he was so friendly and accomodating. Our stay have been perfect if only we didnt have that experience at chinook and seafood grill restaurant. Their room has pretty good size , neat and clean. No musty smell. We will for sure come back here but NO to the seafood grill .
Really nice rooms, we had a ground floor with a door that had beach access and our window overlooks the ocean, flat screen TV, tv, microwave, nice comfy beds fluffy pillows, the front desk is super friendly and the staff are everywhere so it's easy to flag someone down if you need something. I was really impressed with the sink and floor in the bathroom. The slot machines are also super fun, and the drinks are nice. I went in Sept and had a Carmel apple cocktail which consists of Apple Jim Beam and Carmel Bailey's over ice YUM Overall really nice hotel. We stayed 3 nights :)
Waited two hours because our room wasn t ready and when we showed up to our SUITE that I paid $167 for, there were 3 different kinds of bugs on both windows and above the doorway and on the ceiling. Had someone come and clean it up and they only touched the windows. Bugs are still crawling on the ceiling as I write this. Severely disappointed.
Nice place had fun,lost money however I find i would rather play oregon lottery games than the ones here. With lottery games you have options as to what game you want to play. For example 25 cent poker 10, 5 and penny games all in 1 machine. You can't do that here. Will I come back here again? Yes the buffet was awesome, got as much prime rib as I want. At $18 ,per person I find the price a little much especially for a casino. You can get a great buffet for $5 that how it show be here. The folks that work here are wonderful every one we encountered that day were helpful and answered all my stupid questions. Keep it up. Next time we plan to stay at the hotel nearby.
The drive 2 and half hours away and I can't go there terrible road. Drive is dangerous I can go to Las Vegas easier then to Lincoln city it drive me crazy.
I love their measures to keep people healthy and safe, snd I appreciate the non-smoking rule in place now.
We ate lunch at the restaurant rather than the buffet. The food was terrific and reasonable. Staff was terrific. Lunch definitely the time to go to avoid crowds. Whole atmosphere at the casino is airy and friendly, even in the smoking areas.
It's not that nice. Even after remodel. It feels under budget but price says should be a lot nicer.
Cashier was very pleasant and also the person who gave me my membership card. The restrooms were very nice and clean when I came in there is even someone cleaning them at the time.
My husband and I gave this hotel a shot based on the reviews we read and we still can t figure out how they have so many stars. We recently went on our honeymoon to Lincoln City and were so excited to find a hotel with such great ratings and for such a reasonable price. However there really wasn t much that could ve gone worse with our room. Not only was it the size of a shoe box and I m talking literally like 10x10, but it reeked of urine, there was no A/C. I repeat THERE WAS NO A/C. The bed was hard as a rock and we re not normally so picky with stuff like this but we both woke up multiple times through the night with sore shoulders. We got a non-smoking room but surely there were folks smoking outside our room the entire time, and with zero A/C, you can imagine the smell. Oh, and their website failed to mention the casino would be blasting techno music until 3am. It was such a bad experience, we checked out 2 days before we were supposed to which made for a very sad honeymoon. And we weren t asked how our stay was, and the front desk staff couldn t have cared less why we were unhappy with our stay. The ONLY perk to this was we were refunded the money for the nights we didn t stay.
Please remember, we normally aren t the type to complain or write reviews for that matter but this was truly a terrible stay. We will remember for next time we visit this beautiful city.
Wife and I had a great weekend, lots of fun and love the buffet. Room was great and so was the service. Can't wait to go again.

Don't stay on the bottom floor at the hotel, as they don't have security cameras. your stuff will get stolen and all they will say is sorry. We had a 24 inch and a 22 inch Figuero white gold chains taken out of our room. We had a late check-out at noon, went to go eat breakfast came back before noon to our room being cleaned with door wide open and employees in it. With both chains gone! I ask where they were I complained and got nowhere.
This place is pretty clean. It's fun too come here once every three years or so in order too enjoy the sleazy atmosphere. You definetly do not want too go too one of the cage fights. The people are very rude. It's good that they have a lot of security at the cage fights because the scum in the croud can easily get out of hand. This is a dangerous place in general. The machines are neat but the house always wins.
It smells strongly of cigarettes it made me feel sick. The smoking free section till smelled of cigarettes. The smell was less potent but still their. There are lots of Slot machines to play on and they giveaways free soda pop.
I had such a good time i extended my vaca an extra day!
Has good rooms with good views of the ocean. I love there pool and hot tub. Also can't beat having a casino with your stay at the beach. This is my favorite beach spot in oregon

Zero service at the upstairs bar unless you sit at the bar. Ten workers standing around and only two actually working. I guess they don't need the business! The blonde behind the bar is worthless!
This casino is honestly not one of the nicer casinos I have been to. Trashy folks of all walks, trash everywhere, even the lights on the sign were out! Spirit Mountain is WAY BETTER!
My room smelled like moth balls. Didnt even know they had a pool cause we checked in late and the check in lady decided not to tell us about it. Looked forever for an ice machine due to no one telling us any location of one. Beds where like bricks. Casino is not walking distance. Don waste ur money when u can go a few miles up and find newer updated room's who dont over charge ur credit card!! Lady told me my room was 111.00 after tax to find out I got charged 145.00 and they claim I AGREED to these charges.. I would of walked out if I would of known that! Moth ball out dated rooms with no A/C.
Not really into gambling. We went to the bar/club. Music was ok I guess, but not something I would want to dance to. Drinks were fine. The best part of it was the people watching. That was hilarious. So on the strength of that, I will give my experience 4 stars.
Definitely not a luxury hotel, but suites are good for enjoying the beach. Rooms are a bit dated and worn, but beds and bathrooms are clean. Great beach access. From what I've seen of the regular rooms, they are even more rundown. Great location and fun place for family.

Fun atmosphere. Bathrooms were clean. Service was nice and prompt. Can't get used to smoking inside after it being illegal for so long. Had lots of fun. Place was clean. And didn't smell bad at all.

Gamble for one hour won a little ,wife and two friends went to buffet and had a wonderful lunch. Great good and great waiter. Will be going back soon.

The motel has gone down hill in the last few years. The carpet smells and is stained. The chairs covering was cracked. There was no maid service. The worst was I had reserved in the better complex but when we arrived they put us in the other section. When I complained the said they would review the call. They said I never mentioned anything about it. My wife was sitting next to me when I made the reservation and confirmed I had asked for the better room. I will never stay in the motel again.

Meh. Nothing special. Vegas it ain't. I mean, they try. But their non-smoking section is a joke in that there're only a few card tables in there plus slots for the non-player masses that work in Sector 7G.
Always cool to win there but make sure your not spending more than what it takes to have fun.

Food was good. Plates were out at the seafood bar the whole time were there. Had to ask for shell crackers then give them to another table later.

Always been a pleasure going to the coast and spending time at the Casino! We have a beach house near by and its great to feel like a mini vacation every time we are in town. I can name 3 bartenders that have been there for many years and are always giving amazing service!
Veterans Day 2018...
I realize legally, they are not required to fly the flag at half mast this day, and as a Veteran myself, I do know the difference between Veterans Day and Memorial Day...
Here s the real question: We are legally required to fly half mast for military and government members deaths only, yet do so for honor and respect for any situation/tragedy civilian or otherwise we deem fit. As is actually outlined when it is requested ( yes ,this can only be requested as is not a legality) to do via any state/government website.
Yet at a memorial, built to honor those lost in war, on Veterans Day, it s not a thought?
I realize it s not a day for memorial .I can t speak for all, but a vast majority certainly feel as I do.
To those who remain, we would never turn away an opportunity to honor the fallen.
As we feel there can Never be enough Honor, enough Respect or enough done... for those who gave Everything for us...
So tell me why is this not a practice at Chinook as it is indeed done at every single other business and home I have ever come across?
I did in fact call them, and all they responded with, is "I don't know." no promise to look into it, or change.
I actually even asked a worker as they were walking by the memorial,they continued walking...
I was not the only veteran present at the memorial this day... and I am not the only one who lost respect for this establishment.....
I will return to honor those who have fallen, however I will not return as a customer to the business until they learn what it is to respect and honor...

Went with friends to a comedy show. Non smoker, about died because of all the 2nd hand smoke. The venue (bingo lounge) was better with the amount of less smoke than the rest of the building, however left with a headache. Also I don't understand why they have 4 bathrooms available and ALL of the women's bathrooms were closed at the same time. I tried finding a member of staff to ask where an open restroom was and they were all walking about like zombies in a smoke haze and were not helpful.
