Chillout Hostel Zagreb Review

Nice place for short vacation. They have a party every friday as well.

Chill out hostel was good :) comfy bed... Slightly like a coffin but comfy none the less! Staff was polite and they had the bar party going until the early hours of the morning which made a great atmosphere!

The room design is really cool. It was a great place to stay for the 4 nights I was in Zagreb. The beds were neat and clean and the hostel offered cheap tours to Plitvica. Big shoutout to the staff. They were all super super friendly!

I was great and I hope I will doc again.

If you are not sure where to stay when you visit Zagreb Chillout is the answer. If you love hostel parties want an amazing staff to be with you this is the place to visit. Amazing staff a perfect bar downstairs which is open 24*7. Rooms are really nice would highly recommend to visit this place. The best part is that the hostel is right in the center of the city which makes the place even more amazing.

Huge hostel in the heart of Zagreb. Very lively, there's always something going on. There's a bar at the ground floor with a dj, pub crawlsn beer pong. Laundry service available. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Would stay there again for sure.

Perfect hostel if you want to party and meet people. Clean rooms but uncomfortable beds. Good location.

Excellent hostel Clean bathrooms very good beds. The only problem was the wiffi the very small pieces and the laundry ruined my white clothes. But the hostel is excellent

Nice and friendly staff, good atmosphere, small rooms but ok option for a short stay. Not crowded or noisy, we were there in January after holidays and had a good night's sleep.

Sleep is cheap. Everything traveler needs is here. Staff is friendly and very helpful. VERY CLEAN!! :)

Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms. But people are very noisy especially at pub crawl nights. People sleep as well!!! Walls are very thin, and my room had a hole on the wall. AC was malfunctioning too, so it was hot at night!! Cheap yes, but you get what you paid for!

Good place. In the heart of the city of zagreb. Food is pathetic but you can find best places nearby.

Big, but very nice hostel. You ve got enough space in the rooms. There is a shared kitchen, enough toilets and showers and a bar where you can chill out and meet people. The staff is very friendly too, the location is perfect and it s clean. I would definitely recommend this hostel!

It was my good experience with new place, new program and of course amezing pleople. Beeer...beer......dance....enjoyed.
I noticed the slogan: "SLEEP CHEAP, SAVE FOR FUN" which touched me and have a great sence of satisfaction.

From the reviews it looked like the perfect hostel, but it turned out to be the exact opposite. I booked 3 nights in this structure, private double room with bathroom (note well, room not bed!), Final price 231 .. a high figure for being in a hostel, but wanting to stay in a youthful environment and given that reviews were all positive we let ourselves be convinced. After registration they give us the keys to the room, instead of a double room we discover that we are in a dormitory for 6 with other people inside !! Angry, we ask for the room we paid for, then they move us to a dormitory of 8 (in which, however, it was just me and my sister) explaining that it was a temporary situation for the evening and the following afternoon they would give us back the room for 6 but just for the two of us because they had run out of rooms (we booked almost 1 month in advance!).
Honestly considering the price paid I am very disappointed with this property. I have no problem sleeping in a hostel but it was a delicate situation for my sister. I personally would not go back.
Pros: good heating and central location.

I had a great time at the Chillout hostel .One of the best places I have been .The location is great, very central. Staff was so friendly and helpful, specifically Raffael and Mauro.Great value for the price.Will come back for sure !

Really hot rooms, no AC and not so clean as well. But the staff is nice and organized a cool pub crawl

Spent here five nights. Cool hostel with an amazing location for discovering of the city. Rooms are rather small, but okay in regards to cleanliness. Beds are okay. There's bar downstairs and it's a good place to meet fellow travelers. One night there was even pub quiz . Just be aware that it is allowed to smoke inside. Overall nice stay.

Very hip place for young people. For the price it's everything you can ask for, close to the city's main attractions, and great for small groups of friends ( rooms have 6 bunk beds). There is usually some kind of party downstairs in the pub on ground level, but you can't really hear it on the 3rd floor. The bedding on my bunk had some kind of remnant of an old puke stain but otherwise clean, so that's why I give it 4 out of 5.

Cheapest im country but they have parties at night!! You can never sleep comfortably

The service was good, but the hostel beds were too near each other and did not have enough space between them.

A decent hostel for young people, though not very suitable for a non-smoking person

Location is great. Price is cheap. Very solid hostel. It's a little loud outside so if the windows are open you might not sleep too much. But the beds weren't bad. Staff is very helpful and nice. Bar allows smoking. But it's a little hard to find a bar or cafe that doesn't allow smoking in this city.

Right in the middle of the city of Zagreb. This hostel offers bars to chill, live bands to listen to and hang out with the locals. If you like quiteness, this is not the place but if you're looking for fun, you're at the right place!

Loved the cool vibe of this hostel. Even if we were about 30 years older than the rest of the backpacker clients, we felt very welcomed and had a great time at the bar. Took the free night walkimg tour offered and the guide was very informed and gave us a free history lesson which made us understand the overall attitude of Croatians. Great sense of humour as a bonus.
A little complicated to get to the hostel by car, but once there we had a great time.

A hostel in the city center, two minutes walk from the central square, is cozy, cheap and clean, at reception they are very nice and the rooms are very well maintained, also includes a blanket, a pillow, two sockets and a light, all individual for each bed. The cons are that you have to share a bathroom and a shower for 8 people (one room) although there are community bathrooms on each floor, and that does not include a towel. In the room there is a place to store your belongings, but not locks. In general it is a very good hostel, if you are looking for something comfortable, fast and cheap there is nothing better.

preferably but I would not recommend having more than 4 people in the room because it knows the essence. It was mostly okay.

Unfortunately I got 8 people sharing room and didn't like it much.

Staff are very friendly but rooms are poorly ventilated and AC is ineffective. Windows in some rooms do not open very wide so I'm sleeping in a sauna-like situation.

Excellent, very good service, with people from various parts of the world, including a Brazilian named Felipe Bahia, who gave me several tips on how to travel around Europe.

Enough interesting hostel. Great location, located right in the center of Zagreb. Pleasant atmosphere adapted to young people and tourists. Very friendly staff at reception and at the bar. It would recommend it to anyone who stays at Zg for a short time.

No chillout. They don't even have marijuana to offer

this is my second time staying here and if I ever come back to Zagreb I'll stay here again. Quiet and comfortable rooms in a great location in the city. It's close to all of my favorite places in Zagreb. The free tours are also great for first timers.

Wonderful hostel if not a little pricey. The hostel has a great atmosphere especially with all the events organised in the bar downstairs. We were around for spin quiz which was good fun.

Lovely location in the heart of Zagreb with clean facilities. Storage units large and easy to use. However no air conditioning made the coffin like beds extremely warm through the night and the shower had to be held by hand.

Great, modern hostel. Rooms are quite small but designed with good use of space. There's a bar on the ground floor. Perfect localisation, near the city center. I recommend it for young people.

When we came in, our bedding was not changed, a handkerchief was blown out on one of the beds and the toilet was slow

The rooms are nice and clean the bathrooms too. They have a bar in the first floor with the best environment definetly my favorite bar un Zagreb everyday there is a different thing going on. The people at the bar and at the hostels reception are all super nice. 100% recommended plus is in the city center so excellent location.

Dirty bathrooms, rooms very hot, the pod styling means little airflow! Staff not overly helpful and quite moody. Would not stay again.

It's a big hostel with a lot of people. Rooms were okay, but the airconditioning was barely any help.
The showers were clean but the temperature could vary 30 degrees within a second.

Great location, very welcoming, clean room, clean shower room, useful and free service (deposit). They have a terrace and is right next to a very nice little public garden! The meetings are easily made as if the place made you want to go to the other. Thank you bcp !!

great apartment shower was great very good location and staff. the kitchen needed cleaning before we came as it smelled rancid and the fridge did not work but overall a very good stay

Chillout hostel is a great stay for young travellers in Zagreb. The volunteers and staff here are extremely friendly and helpful and helped us book tours including a guided tour of Plitvice lakes at a very reasonable price. The rooms are clean and there is a solid divider between beds giving good levels of privacy. Definitely make sure to go on one of the pub crawls hosted by chillout, the volunteers truly go above and beyond to make it an incredibly fun pub crawl unlike any other! Thank you Chillout!

The biggest advetage of this place is the localisation

The hostel is incredibly central to Zagreb which made it super accessible for any tourist. It was pretty cheap as well and the nightlife around the hostel was cool. However, the hostel bar wasn't great because it was far too warm and smelt completely of smoke. Also, we were annoyed constantly by the pub crawl staff who kept trying to get us to join the trip which started from the hostel.

The rooms looked fancy however they were very cramped for 8 people meaning we couldn't really have space to move or chill out of our beds. Had good access to showers and toilets, chargers, lockers which I was pleased about. The lift to the fourth floor was fairly small but I enjoyed the challenge of the steps.

Good party hostel. Has all the necessities. I think it's main pull is it's the party atmosphere it offers. Terrace, bar, lounge, and fully staffed.

Great hostel in the centre. Close to everything. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms as well. Considering the price truly a good place to stay.

PLUS: The location is very good for discovering the city center and it's quite near a parking house. Breakfast was simple but tasty. MINUS: We booked for a double room but finally we got an eight bed room. Even if we were only two in the room it was not so comfortable. The floor in the room was ruined, mattresses overused, water all-around the bathroom after showering. Overall the interior didn't look very pretty.

No heating in mid-December. They waited for an hour for lunch, some people left without lunch.

One of the best hostels in Zagreb. It has cheap prices, free breakfast for all guests, pub on the ground floor and amazing service. Employees are always kind and helpful. There's also an outdoor siting in front and luggage storage.

Awesome hostel. Probably the best hostel i've ever been to. They were incredibly nice. The shower was good. I slept in the 8 person mix room and we had 2 individual outlets and a reading light on each bunkbed side. The kitchen also seemed fine although i ended up only using the kettle for making tea. The location is also perfect, a couple of minutes walking from the city center.

Upon arriving the main lobby was clouded in smoke. Staff very rude, didn't care and receptionist swore at us saying we hadn't paid. There were bugs in our beds, room had a missing window, the floor was more dirty then the street. Wi-Fi absolutly awful. Showering was a task as they were more dirty then myself (had mold growing in it). Other then that the location was alright.

Beautiful hostel, friendly and competent staff, excellent location in the city, in the center, a short walk both in the low city and two steps from the high one, in short, everything at your fingertips (feet I should say). Every day they organize two free guided tours, which leave from the hostel. I participated in the inheritance with the tourist guide MARTINA and she was very good, as well as nice. I recommend it to everyone, it's a 2 hour visit and it's still free. I know that they also organize tours to Plitvice lakes, but I didn't have enough time in the city. Often in the evening there are concerts and evenings, but where you sleep is quiet. Outside the hostel there is a large space to sit or have a drink, chat or read. In short, if you come to Zagreb come to Chillout, I recommend it!

You know, if you stay in a hostel, mostly it is hard to find... chillout hostel has perfect location, easy to find, it serves good breakfast and has its own bar which is good place. The staff is very helpfull. Highly recommended... also as i understand you can write whatever you want to the walls :)

A massive Hostel where there is always something going on. A very social place.

Staff is really friendly but the place itself is unclean.. the ac doesnot work and there are no fans which makes it really hot

The concept of hostel and staff deserves the best ratings, but the lack of room and bedding and bathroom rocks everything.

Their heating stoped working and they could not be bothered to fix it until the morning. When confronted with the very low temperature in the room they refused to offer any solution and the staff just claimed it's not their responsibility.

Staff is friendly but provide awful service. I do not recommend staying here.

Also they lied to me that there is nobody that can fix this at night. I found over 15 non stop plumber services in Zagreb, one google away.
