Chillout Hostel Zagreb Review

The great part was that we had a private sauna! The downside was that it was involuntary and in our coffin-like beds.

Great hostel with awesome prices. It has something for everybody. From organized food to pub crawls. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly also. Huge plus is that is is located a 5 minute walk from the main square literally. Only downside. It has a lot of beds (over ~100) so your experience will vary depending on who are the rest of guests.

The chillout is a nice and cheap hostel, well located in the center of Zagreb. The staff is kind. Bathrooms and rooms are quite clean. However both the rooms and the bathrooms are very small. The shower water was always cold and smoking is permitted in the common area. This was very annoying.

Great hostel in the center of Zagreb! Rights price! People who work here are very friendly! We also get free breakfast what is really great and unexpectedly! Rooms are small but cute and clean, toilet is clean! A lots off young people stay here, and ther on the ground floor t is a bar, where you can have fun!

BED BUGS! We came to hostel last weekend, 18 of us come back with bed buggs home. One of our friend had alergic reaction, she was all purple.

Great location, cheap and clean hostel. The bar on the ground floor is very enjoyable. Rooms could use a bit better ventilation but it's ok.

Only stayed a night as i was catching a bus the next morning. Very comfortable for my needs.

Good if you like social/party hostels. Small minus for every room being crammed/tiny.

Rooms are good and cosy ... most rooms have shared bathrooms and toilet spaces among approx. 25- 30 people which is the only con. Clean rooms, host pub crawl at this place, have their own restaurant which is average food.

Such a fun hostel in an amazing location. Right in the center next to one of the tunnel entrances that makes getting to other parts of the city super easy. Love the environment of the lobby.... cute bar with cheap drinks and lots of tables to sit. The reception is always there and very friendly. Had a great tour guide that the hostel set up...2 hours of touring the upper part of Zagreb, donation-based shots at the bar after the tour. Went on the bar crawl as well...disappointed that we were mislead and charged 10 euro for three bars and a club when it was Monday and bars close at 12 and no clubs are open. Knowing this, they still charged us full price for the bar crawl and didn't mention only going to two bars and back to the hostel to continue festivities at the bar.

Great stay, lots of fun .Staff were great and the atmosphere was amazing, we will be back agin to stay and made so many friends here

Super place! Very cozy and lovely environment, interesting design, delicious food, good bar - any kind of drinks, also karaoke and beer pong evenings regularly. I hope I will come back soon into your hostel

Awesome hostel with unique rooms. I give 4 stars because some of the beds were too small. Bathrooms were very clean but no free breakfast. Considering the price, its really good.

Excellent location Excellent attention Excellent cleaning Excellent facilities This hostel is totally recommended. It also has a bar where every night they carry out activities to integrate guests. If you go to Zagreb, this is the best option.

Otherwise: friendly staff, great location, lot of noise from the bar, beds are ok not great, bathrooms and bedrooms are clean except the bugs.

Location is great for the price, but pretty much that is all.
We stayed in a private room which is very tiny, and the staff although it is a private room performed a "random check" without knocking disturbing us.
The rules clearly state that there should be no noise after 11:30 pm, but this is blatantly disregarded not only by the hostel guests but by its staff also. From the five nights we stayed there, three nights there were very loud parties in the ground floor.
People were shouting in the hallways and someone took an hour long shower after midnight. Very noisy !

Great location in the old city, pedestrian only zone, lovely street lined with restaurants and shops very close by. Very reasonable prices. Suggested for younger people.

You can always have fun there and meet a lot of youths from all around the world

I was in this hostel with a group class. What to say, given that I am an adult I make more considerations. For young people, those who know how to adapt and love meeting people, is just a recommended location, in the center, cute, lead by young and very friendly, with evening entertainment; Spartan accommodation, simple but plentiful breakfasts and acceptable food. As an adult, instead, I lament the lack of cleanliness and the impossibility to rest well.

Great location, good stuff, just felt like there was too many people in such a small space! Rooms are painted, more home feeling than most hostels. Younger crowd. They were all doing the party until late, but the rooms are quiet enough to sleep.

Location is excellent roomes good cleaning and maintenance not good the receptionist very helpful.

The son was with the eco-school ... dirty, poor breakfast, one small towel in a quadruple room ... the only good location but everything else is the hooks and hooks ... think carefully before booking because there are convenient places in the center. it pays to do a little research.

The hotel deserves the name Party Club Hostel rather than "chill out". We had a quad room, the bed was really uncomfortable and the ventilation of the small room in warm temperatures more than insufficient. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the toilets and the showers left much to be desired. By far the worst hostel by far.

Had a great night at Chillout Hostel, check in was nice and easy, the receptionist was really nice as well. The bar is great and really social. The beds are small but private and comfortable so no issue there. One little pain was the showers. It happened both showers with me and also both showers my cousin had.... Be prepared for a Hot/Cold rollercoaster. I'm not talking warm or chilly though I mean you are getting either Arctic or Mordor as the temperatures. It became quite a game to try and get washed in.the transitions between. But no way am I marking you guys down for that, it was a great stay.

Don't let the photos deceive you. You will be placed in a cell like dorm with dirty bedding and won't be shown around. Absolutely filth

Good place to spend a night in the center of Zagreb

Actually, I think that the hostel is very well done and also has a great location. However, the party area "bar" should be non-smoking area and also have a lower and above all shorter volume time. Not against the celebration, after I still in my age. But people want to sleep here, too. If you want to be quiet, you should at least dodge to the 2nd floor. In addition, the smoke is not so extreme there. In addition, the beds were funny, but also very hard.

Very live and active place that provide you not just with a place to sleep but with integration into Zagreb's life

The interior of the hostel room was unique, and my friend is like a cave. The room and bathroom were clean, but the room I was staying in was small so I was not comfortable arranging for a big carrier or luggage.

Great place, really helpful and nice staff! Affordable and just so warm and inviting.

As hostel it s amazing!! It s in the center , there are a beautiful bar inside with marvellous night activities, the rooms are very nice ,all in different stiles!! My room was in space stile !! I had a beautiful time playing and singing at KARAOKE!!! I loved that place

Great hostel. beds were good only you could sometimes have the misfortune that you had a broken pillow. Location in the city is very pleasant, supermarket is nearby.

Was here once with school and once with a friend, nice memories from this place.

It is a good alternative, the staff is very cordial and the rooms clean. It is very close to the Center and has a bar where you can listen to music and chat with other travelers

Cool place to stay and have fun. You can meet a lot of new people on the bar and after party easily go to bed on upper floors. Beds are clean, ac is not working, bathrooms are the worst (broken, and looks like 90's era).

The Hostel is really well equipped for the price. The rooms are big and clean and the staff is really friendly. If you come before checkin, they give you lockers for your luggage for free ! The bar is great too, but could do with some more seating space as it gets a bit crowded. The location is great, right in the heart of the city.

The place to literally chillout.
The atmosphere is really good, but the air conditioner is so loud, you can smoke at the bar on the first floor at any time, so it is not good for smokers, but I did not like nonsmokers like me.

There is a tunnel in the mountain next to the hostel, and the inside is cool like crazy, and there is a drinking water pool, so I keep bringing water.
And at the foot of the mountain, between 8 and 9 o'clock night, there is a beer and cocktail bar that feels like a rural club. There are dogs, cats and cockroaches. Everyone is free to chillout. Chillout is good. I feel better.

However, the bed is too small because it is a bed for children.
In summer, avoid the 5th floor unconditionally !!

Nice hostel. Friendly staff and great location. My room had a problem with the A/C so it became very hot and humid during the night, but other than that everything else was fine

Rooms were okay and had airco. Beds were a bit small and the shower was far from great but for the price, this was a great hostel.

You could not ask for a better location. The hostel is located in the heart of the city. Majority of the staff is really friendly, except for the barman who denied not giving my 80 kuna change. The breakfast served is not, I repeat NOT what you see on the menu. My bed was infested with bedbugs, which was almost impossible to get rid of. Not even insect repellent helped. I returned home with high fever, swollen hands,feet and face which the dr. described as a very unpleasant allergic reaction to all the insect bites I obtained from the not so clean bed I slept in for almost 2 weeks. So have fun !!

Very good hostel in my opinion. Rooms were clean and comfortable. there was a nice lounge where you could enjoy drinks. They organized daily pubcrawls which were truely great. If you're out for a party, definitely stay here!

Nice hostello that has nothing to expect and has nothing to envy to the other hostels. Great location a little inconvenient to find. A few more indications would not hurt

- Very claustrophobic bathrooms, cant barely move
- You have to make the bed yourself, first time i ever see this in a hostel. So when you arrive at night, you will wake everyone else up because you have to make the bed to sleep in it. Doesnt make any sense at all

I spent three days there and I was very good, people are very friendly and have different activities, I like their style and I think they have everything a tourist needs, from laundry service, Tours, a restaurant with delicious food and more, I recommend it!!

Liked everything, besides the hostel being situated right on top of the nightclub - was kinda hard to sleep.

The hostel is in a great location, right in the center of town. The staff is very friendly. Prices are affordable, with the possibility of a free breakfast. Although the rooms are multi-bed, the design is so well made that you feel like you are alone. It's clean. It's good that the ground floor has pub-quiz dinners and karaoke, so the people in the room mostly sleep (no noise). Njami Restaurant, opposite the hostel, is a beautiful setting and comfort with quite solid and fine food and drink.

Unparalleled location and for a couple of days is fine. To spend a week has many shortcomings ... cleaning leaves much to be desired.

I love this place, great staff great fun people that hang out there, real chillout place. The private rooms suck there though because the way they do them is they just remove the things between the beds and you have one "big bed" but you still have 3 other bunk beds. Location is great right in the city centre close by to everything, there is also a cool looking park right by it. Love this place

The staff is really kind and helpful, beds and restrooms are clean. The atmosphere is perfect for meeting new people and the bar is the perfect place to start or end a night. The kitchen provides you with everything you need for basic cooking and people are sharing their food and cooking knowledge. Also they have a great coffee!

Cool presentation of the hostel! Is very hidden! In the area of the bar smoking should be forbidden ... the smoke moves over to the front desk. Towels and bags are smelling. Good location to the city center. Tunnel around is the highlight as well as cable car!

Friendly staff, comfortable and trendy beds, great atmosphere!

The hostel is ok. The only problem is that the kitchen is really small and sometimes it gets crowded with the people from the hostel bar (who are not using the kitchen, just hanging out there) and if you wanna cook, well, it is hard. Otherwise it is ok.

A wonderful hostel, wonderful people, a wonderful stay.
The evenings are incredible, we meet people from all walks of life.
Special mention to Sebastian who has a real sense of welcoming, sharing and good humor.
