I had the memorial for my nephew at this hotel. In addition to the event room and catered event, I booked 3 rooms for family. All the service was impeccable. First La Tonya was amazing and extremely helpful as our event planner. I was skeptical about having to buy food from an unknown caterer. The food was very tasty, plentiful, and reasonably priced. The check in was very well done and the beds were very comfortable. This hotel is by far the best kept secret in all of Chicago. I know because I am from Chicago and have stayed in most elegant of hotels like Four Seasons, Fairmont, Marriott, Hyatt and others. You won't go wrong staying here.

Free on-site parking. Rooms recently updated and clean. Beds very comfortable. Love staying here and then walking to Chinatown for food and shopping. Staff is friendly. No pool but we're too exhausted to swim, anyway!

I just stayed at the South Loop, and was very disappointed. The beds were comfortable, but the front desk made it a big hassle to check-in. They also told me I would have to pay the $100 incidental fee, which is fine. What they didn't tell me, was that they took another $110.25 from me on a different transaction FOR NO REASON. I had to spend all weekend without being able to use my debit card because of insufficient funds! I am also not sure if the gift shop is separate or part of the hotel, but the prices were OUTRAGEOUS. They told me all of my money would be refunded within the next few days so at least I get my money back but geez!

A little dated, but no real complaints. Important things like bed and bathroom are pretty nice. Little things like carpeting aren't as nice. Staff was friendly and accommodated late check out. Price is good. Location looks sketchy but is fine and on a well trafficked street. Overall I liked it

It's a great value considering the proximity to the city and the free parking. We just took an Uber or Lyft into the city rather than paying for parking and it was much more convenient. There were a few negatives though. First, we were given a room that had not yet been cleaned so we had to go back down to request another room. The towels smelled heavily of some cleaning solution which was unpleasant. The last negative, and probably not all that important, was that the elevator was super slow and we would have to wait quite a while despite it only being 5 floor. Overall, I would recommend it for it's value.

Nice room, good price, NO Restaurant (only a tiny cafe).

The website has pictures of a beautiful restaurant, but that's apparently closed for the foreseeable future. There's a small cafe open for a bit each day.

Yolonda is simply award-winning. Her customer service skills were outstanding. It s rare when you find this kind of service. Yolonda is the type of employee that every company or organization need. Kudos to her for remarkable service.

The room was spacious and gorgeous, the bed was comfy, and parking was *on site*, a trait a learned to value on a return to Chicago at a different hotel.

Literally my only quibble is that the lobby is heavily scented, like with potpourri; while most people undoubtedly enjoy that, as an asthmatic it was a little intense. Thankfully that was limited to the lobby and I could breathe easily everywhere else in the hotel.

The hotel is good, the rooms spacious and the beds comfortable. It's a bit out of downtown and at night it's not the best place to be, but it makes up for it with other things. Huge bathroom with a big bathtub, nice and clean. The staff are not known for their kindness, but if you meet them on a good day, you have a good time . Adrianne, the manager of the breakfast room, is a sweetheart and the breakfast is very rich, not included in the hotel rate. The breakfast room is super small and collapses around there, but coffees can be prepared in the rooms since they all have a coffee maker and mini bar (empty. You have to fill it to taste) There is also coffee. Courtesy in the room to access the internet. Overall good. Just a little out of the way. Parking is super comfortable and spacious

Great hotel well located. By bus 29 to arrive to the center of Down Town. There is China Town very close. A major strength of this hotel on the outskirts of Chicago is free parking, which is not common here. In the hotel there is a fitness room, not huge but not even crowded. For breakfast it is possible to use a small family-run "bar" where you can enjoy an authentic American breakfast, at a reasonable price, located inside the hotel. The reception does not excel for courtesy and availability, even if a wheelchair has been made available for free for a person with reduced mobility. Good thing. Choosing the apt complex. Recommended

Clean and greatly maintain hotel. Staff has been very helpful and efficient making sure our stay has been wonderful. Close to major bus and major transit to get you anywhere in the heart of the city. Just not alot of restaurants close by, great little cafe/market down the road for coffee and good food.

Nice hotel, good beds, big bathroom and the tub is huge. Seems like a decent area, but I'm in town for an event, so I haven't gotten out much. Few blocks from an L stop that takes you to the north loop, so pretty convenient! There's a few parking areas, first come first serve. I checked in early, so there were plenty of available spots but it could fill up quickly.

Not a perfect place, but I am not a picky person. For a place that close to downtown Chicago to have free parking is great. Rooms were clean and comfy, staff was nice, fitness center was great too. Bar and Restaurant are currently under renovation, the little breakfast place was nice (a bit pricey for coffee and egg sandwich though).

Only drawback is that our uber driver said there is some low income housing directly behind the hotel (I am not local so I could be given bad info) so maybe don't wander too far at night?

One of our comedians recently stayed here and loved it. Here are his words: Honestly can't remember a better hotel experience, from the time I checked in, until the time I checked out. The staff is absolutely amazing and so is everything about the hotel! The hotel location is awesome. It's close to everything and getting around is easy. This property is clean, super nice and well maintained! The room was so spacious, clean and quiet with a very comfortable bed, a living room area and the bathtubs here are so big, you can take a relaxing soak. They have a very large business center with a few computers/printer and coffee machine! The staff was so helpful with whatever I needed during my three day stay while I performed at Zanies Chicago. It was the best experience on my Midwest tour and I can't wait to go back and stay here again!

According to the price of the room, pretty good hotel, however a little bit of renovation and planning could make it a much better place than what it is right now, for example just placing a water bottle or two.

I stayed at this hotel for business, paying almost $300/night including all taxes. Metro is passing by periodically. Almost night there were police sirens going on. At first I thought my windows open. No complimentary water bottle, selling them $2. Room doesn't look very clean. Definitely I wouldn't stay at this hotel for any reason in the future.

Veri spacious room

My daughter and I stayed at the hotel the night of a concert at Soldier Field. The stay started out to be very good, no complaints, and everyone that we came in contact with was very nice and helpful. However, the next morning we were work up to a knock on the door at 9am from housekeeping wanting to know if our room was empty so they can clean. Mind you checkout time is 11am and there was no do not disturb sign that we could put out. They then came back about 10am and proceeded to try to enter the room because we hadn't answered the door fast enough! Good thing I was dressed!! I confronted the housekeeper as to why she was going room to room to see if the guests had left and if she had a list of the rooms that were empty. She replied that our room was empty and that's why she was trying to get in. I went to check out and discussed this with the desk clerk and all she said was that the housekeepers are not supposed to do this and that she would talk to the housekeeping manager. She did apologize repeatedly and never offered anything to us in return. I really wasn't looking for anything but I have never EVER been to a hotel that has ever done this!

Third time staying here. Nice rooms, clean. Not much in close proximity to do or get necessities, but that's what Uber or public transportation is for, right? The #29 bus runs right to the hotel from downtown.

I left my Mac Pro plus on the wall of the room I stayed the day before yesterday. I connect with Chicago South Loop Hotel and hope their housekeeping can return it to me. I am waiting and will let people know what is going on.

I was there because Amtrak sent us there because of train delay. Anyway, I enjoyed my overnight stay there. Front desk rep was very polite, professional and courteous. The lightning in rooms and bathroom could be a little better

I booked my room online, got there and was told that in addition to the money i paid you have to pay 100.00 deposit. The hotel is not nice enough to have to do all that extra stuff and the type of crowd thats staying there dont make it worth the price at all......Bootleg hotel smh

Bathroom fan is broken, electricity went out and maintenance took almost an hour to even get to it, gift shop can only be opened by one lady and she's on fml, limited housekeeping hours- so don't expect any extra towels if you need them, water in elevator that I told them about- they never cleaned it up and my mom with a cane and has a disability almost slipped. They have no care for their customers. I did get an early check in. Please book anywhere but this hotel for your Chicago stay.

Beds were super comfortable! Temperature of the room was perfect and able to be regulated by me. Water pressure in the shower was perfect for someone with stupid thick hair! We had a great night and slept well! Thank you!!

Nice hotel but seems like it is aging fast. No restaurant. They have a breakfast grill, and the food is fine, but it's small. Water in the room smelled, and not in a good way. Good water pressure and good supply of hit water. Great walking distance to a lot of things -- like a mile or so. Workout room looks good, but machines aren't kept up as they should be.

Great for the price! Parking included. I ended up getting a large room from what I thought I would get. Place was not too loud with a great restaurant (Carbon Live Fire) within walking distance. I plan on staying here next time I visit Chi.

Great deal! Super close to downtown. I love that there was free parking. I lived in Chicago for 10 years on a work assignment and had a chance to see how the area has evolved for the better. I came back in town for a funeral and to check on one of my rental properties and this place popped up on Orbitz website. I never noticed it before but I'm glad I found it. This will be my go-to place when coming back to Chicago for business or personal affairs.

The hotel itself was very clean, the staff was very polite, and the cafe was delicious!

Only complaint is that the air conditioning doesn't work at all. We spent the night in 82 degree weather and the bedroom was miserably hot for 4 adults post concert.

Other than that, I would definitely recommend and stay again.

Good location. Small parking lot. Asked about swapping rooms after my wife accidentally booked a double queen. Young lady told us no we couldn't change because they were full. Then a gentleman walked in behind me and a receptionist immediately offered him a change. Just sucked is all

This was a clean, easily accessible hotel with an in house bar featuring karaoke nights, and the cost included free parking.
The staff were kind and helpful, the room was clean, fully stocked with everything you expect, and the beds were modern and very comfortable.
The walls felt a little "thin", as we could hear people in the hallways, and outside, talking. No pool or hot tub, and the fitness room was missing several accessories to their equipment.
Overall, this hotel fit our budget and delivered what we wanted for a safe, clean, hotel near downtown Chicago with free parking.
