I am a rideshare driver and almost 95 percent of the time I am dealing with the same woman at the gate. She is short, heavy set and caucasian with dark short hair. She has a set of rules to follow and I understand but if I am picking up a passenger who may be visiting a resident of Muirwood, she makes them walk to the gate, while I sit for almost 20 mins. If I am able to get inside, she will shout out and say, "tell them to answer their phone." She is rude, disrespectful and said most of the people there are not from America and are just visiting. Why would I need to know that. She refused to talk to a visitor who was on crutches and made her walk to the gate which took 20 minutes. It shouldn't be this difficult to pick up a rider. Even in the richest neighborhoods, I don't have this issue.

I don't have problem here, and I am also satisfied with the apartments and their service maintenance people. But they lack professionalism in office and service regards. Due to landscapes, the apartment looks beautiful but the house are old.
The property is fine. Not great, not bad, just... fine. The unit I lived in was a simple, non-renovated one. It had some issues, like the oven fan not working, the stovetop was crooked, the bathroom tub was a little rusted, etc. There were bugs that came in every spring/summer, but by winter there were less. I did have to buy some bug spray though. Maintenance and the office staff were notoriously hard to get a hold of, but otherwise it wasn't a bad apartment during my 1-year stay. I moved out a couple months ago and have yet to get my deposit back (even though they said they sent it a couple weeks after I left). Every time I call/email they give me the go-around about it, so don't get your heart set on getting your deposit back.
The model unit you see on the tour was much nicer than the unit I moved in to. The paint job was terrible: splatters on the door, blinds and even an electric socket not properly reattached after painting. The kitchen and bathroom countertops in the model unit were nice, but mine are old and stained. It takes weeks to respond to simple maintenance requests.
The entrance gate is a tremendous inconvenience. Residents have to reach out of their cars to swipe RFID cards, and guests have to give the gate attendant their drivers' licence and answer questions about who they are visiting and at what address. The whole process is a pointless ordeal, and causes traffic at peak times to back up into the adjacent main road.
We moved here in November of 2016 from out -of-state. We did a lot if research in our apartment hunt and unfortunately in retrospect we chose Muirwood. If we could pack and leave tomorrow we would- this place is a deceivingly pleasant waste of money.
Our list if complaints could go forever but here it is as short and basic as possible- "upgraded apartment" is just a term they use for 'hey we did a cheap job of restoring but don't expect clean carpet, tiles, bathrooms, floors, or showers, patio doors that work, trustworthy appliances, or a neighbor that has fed the geese so much there is feces everywhere you walk outside your door. Pretty much everything is junk. If you do decide Muirwood, move in, and make a request DON'T expect anything to be done about it regardless of their promises.
This place is like a used car dealership. Everything looks great up front until the deal is done and your legally bound to pay them money.
We move a lot for my husbands job and this is the worst rental decision we have made yet. It is disgusting (it took me 5 months to get the stench out of my apartment.. one can only assume it's the carpet?).
Best advice I can give is don't be fooled by the models and customer service up front. When we came here the staff in The leasing office were great and that is as far as customer service went. The ONLY reason we didn't turn around and leave on move in day was because the moving service was here and we would not have had an opportunity to go somewhere else on such short notice.
For just one specific example- it has been 6 months since we moved in and requested a few fixes to our "upgraded apartment". Our shower has had mold growing in it since day 1 regardless of my best attempts to clean it. We were told it would be redone and now, months later, I took the day off work to be here with workers while bathroom was redone. NO ONE showed up. I couldn't get a hold of the office until 3pm. They claimed "they weren't sure why they didn't come" then said there "was an emergency". Okay, that is fine BUT did Muirwood not think it would be common courtesy to call and let us know before an entire day was wasted? Guess not. OR maybe they would have called company when no one showed up in the morning asking for apartment keys? Hmm..
This is just one of many examples of Muirwood's blatant disregard for their renters. This place will charge you an arm and leg for their apartments and take it with a greedy hand. If you move here don't expect much in return.
The worst maintenance office team. If you submit maintenance request they will not even consider your current maintenance problem, if you call and check with them they do not care of your problem. they recklessly tell what they want to tell. Example: if you say that we have small kids and having issue with A/C , the do not care of it. They will send after 1 month for the fix. Main thing is maintenance office team response ( while in phone ) is very very rash. One of my friend has issue with Water tap at Kitchen Sink, when my friend reached the maintenance team they(maintenance office team) said for time being clean your bowls in bathroom tub and wash your hands in the bathroom . I think after 3 weeks they cam me fix it.
Just moved out and I'm regretting my decision. I stayed with a friend and the apartment had just been renovated. I wanted my own space though, so I moved to a cheaper one bedroom in a different community. Not a good decision. The maintenance at Muirwood is great, office people are very nice and MaryAnn at the gate was always so friendly. I work a lot of overnights and having her so cheerful in the morning made any bad day good. I can't wait for this year lease to be over with, so I can move back. You get what you pay for... it's worth the extra money, trust me.
Recently I faced the issue with move in because of miscommunication, inexperienced staff etc (Not able to contact my previous apartment to get my rental history and not informing me). Issue is that, at the last moment when I was about to take the keys, I was told to put a full month deposit which I refused to do, as I have a good credit. I have to wait for 3 more days to move in to get this resolved which made me to make some temporary adjustment and made me to go through the pain. So movers please beware and try to get things resolved before hand and avoid similar problems.
Not a safe neighborhood by any means I don't know what's worse the landlord the rent or the neighborhood can't even let my kids go outside and play because of the drug dealers and feins all around
Where to start, the apartments are beautiful, a little high priced but beautiful none the less, minus the lack of storage you get. The staff is very nice and caring, up until you move in then they start with their attitudes and lack of caring. The business manager is garbage and doesn't answer her phone nor return phone calls EVER! I have called her and left numerous messages and never received a call back.
The fact that it is a gated community doesn't nothing, its just an excuse for them to charge you more money, seeing as it is a joke, if you live off of the drake entrance expect people to ride your ass and sneak through the gate constantly. Oh, and don't bother calling the office with plates numbers because they will not do a damn thing, I've tried multiple times seeing as those were the instructions I was giving by the office, themselves.
Need to highlight Brandon who is staff of muriwoood very helpful and quick with witty suggestion. He was very polite and assisted me in solving my issues related to lease with less hassle.
Leasing team didn't responded any of my email even after a month even after move-in. Its like one way email. They didn't let me walk-in the apartment(not even model) I signed for which I was said once they worked on it they will let me walk in, but not until I get the keys. They didn't even cared about my checkin list which currently I am working with service maintenance team to address.
Love this place. Lots of good amenities, not too far from Downtown Farmington and close to 96, 275 and 696. Dawn was very helpful in the leasing office. Decent cardio equipment in the fitness center.
Worst services never they react immediately for even emergencies its very difficult to stay in Muriwood with kids always water problem or no hot water call 100 times no one vl cone to solve a issue they say you are in line
I have been living here for about 3 years now. I have not had any complaints so far. The rent is pricey but you get what you pay for and I feel safe. I recently had a situation with the staff in the Business office. I turned in my rent on 5.5.17 late Friday night went I got home from work. Normally I always check the Resident mobile site and make sure everything posted on time. To my surprise my payment had not posted and I had a late fee. I called the office and left a message asking for someone to call regarding this matter. I talked to Tony which was the rudest person in history. Her was very short with me and talked over me the whole time. I explained to him when I dropped my rent off and asked why did it not post? He proceeded to tell me that I did not drop my rent off on Friday I dropped it off on Monday!!!! He stated the rent box was checked on Saturday and sunday and all rent was ran. This is some BS because I worked for this company before and I know some managers will leave rent for the next day if they feeling lazy. I was told nothing he could do and told he didn't care if I called corporate on him and gave me his last name?? I emailed the account manager Sara King that same day with hope she could clear this up for me and get my rent posted and my surprise she said the same thing she knows I put my rent in the box on Monday? So they both called me a liar basically I asked them both to review the cameras and check what day I came by I have no reason to lie plus my rent checks were dated for 4.19.17 & 5.5.17 and why would I hold on to my checks to pay late just because? Sara advised me that I need to remit the remainder $42 within the next 48hrs or my payments will be returned to me. What joke!!! I have never asked them for a credit for late fees and please believe me I have been late on rent but I'm honest and I pay what I owe but don't lie to get more money out of me. This hurt me to my core because I know I was telling them the truth and they know I'm not lying especially the person that did not run the rent on Saturday. I gave this community a one star because I do like the apartments but the remainder stars are taken away because how they treated me unfair. I really hope they implement a new policy so no one else has to be taken for their hard earn money like I did. Very Angry Resident. I hope somebody sees this that cares probably not though.
All I can say is do not move here. I agree wholeheartedly with the previous resident who shared the warning of Do not fall in this trap. The buildings are OLD, I mean old, and cause problems inside their units. And they will tell you that AFTER you re already stuck. Even their so called newly renovated units, which I selected, have MAJOR issues. For the rate they charge for rent the issues they have should be easily resolved. They have the worst maintenance I ve ever experienced, NOT helpful and I won t even comment on how terrible the property management is! It s sad! I don t even want to read their little follow-up comment because it s all BOGUS. The last storm we received the snow was barely removed, it was like sliding on frozen snow/ice for 10 days. It looks very appealing on the outside but please be forewarned, this place is not as pretty as it seems.
Leasing Consultant was awesome. Asked of any concerns during the application process. Had a tour of the community, which is beautiful. Will recommend Muirwood.
Muirwood shows itself as a luxury apartment complex that s cares about its tenants, but all they really care about is your money. I was shown a nice furnished apartment for the layout I wanted, but you are not able to see an actual unit. After filling out an application and paying the fees and a security deposit, I asked to see the unit I would be renting and was told I m not entitled to see it till I sign my lease agreement. This is the only place I have ever gone to that won t show you what your renting. I have tried reaching out to them for a week about this incident. When trying, calls didn t go through to their leasing office and they didn t respond to emails. Do not make the same mistake I made and fill out that application.
WORST. PLACE. EVER. Maintenance is non-responsive. Parking is already limited and sometimes they shut down lots for maintenance with little to no warning. I would never recommend this apartment to anyone.
Hi, I and my husband (Partha Misra) have been staying in The Enclave (Muirwood) since 2016. I must thanks the maintenance team for maintaining clean grounds, clean fast elevator service and the way, other amenities are managed. Above all, from the technician team, Mr. Conroy Campbell has been extremely helpful to us especially. He has taken care of every issues like A.C maintenance, furniture, and kitchen sink- tap issues whenever we have informed. His smiling face and dedicated services is praise worthy. His due efficiency, problem solving attitude makes him a great technician. We can t thank him and the whole Muirwood Management Team enough. There is a feel good factor about the Apartment ambience, and through out the year, these people work hard through efficient maintenance of the structures to give us a smooth stay!! Thank you Mr. Conroy and Thank you Muirwood!!
Update: still a terrible place, can t wait to move A broken window (from mowers) took a month to replace, they left shards of glass all over our apartment when they finally replaced it. We have a hole in our ceiling from water damage that s been there for a month. Still waiting on the contractors Our patio door leaks water every time it rains for about two months. Still waiting for a plan and the maintainence guys who have never come.
By far the worst renting experience I've ever had. I wish I could put 0 stars.
I moved in three long months ago. In this time our washer has flooded our apartment, our apartment has flooded from a floor drain and our furnace has broken. With all of these experiences Muirwood management has made next to no effort to accommodate us other than to suggest we go to a homeless shelter. It took almost 72 hours to move us out of a completely flooded apartment that smelled like wet dog, got all our things wet and made all of our things smell like wet dog. Our furnace went out last Thursday. It's currently Sunday afternoon, our apartment is 51 degrees and no one has given us any solution other than to call the police and go to a homeless shelter. You can't make this up. The office people have been so kind but have no control but to pass us to upper management. Upper management hasn't done anything to help us besides be off on Friday and the entire weekend and sit in their warm houses and not answer their phone or email. Must be nice to not be on call or at work like the rest of the complex.
By the way, they aren't planning on replacing the carpet in our old apartment according to our inside source. Super ethical Muirwood.
I have left multiple voicemails and we have sent numerous emails and have yet to be called back or emailed back.
Oh and let's talk security. They pride themselves on security but the back gate has been left open for weeks. Our two building doors are broken or unlocked 100% of the time. Despite multiple calls nothing has been fixed. It's like a robbers dream up in here.
I regret my decision immensely. We will be moving out the second we can afford to break our lease. I can't wait to see what goes wrong next.
I am giving 1/5 because 0 is not allowed. I am a new resident and they have given me a reserved spot which they allocated to someone else and now claiming that they had given me a different spot. The leasing office is a mess. Inspite of all this, the leasing agent is unapologetic and rude! The apartment is GREAT though! I can't reach my vehicle using remote start now!!! Thanks a lot, MUIRWOOD!!!
I have a running list, mold, maggots in or kitchen ceiling, no one answering phones, people leaving early, giving missinformatio, empty promises, everyone here is incompetent. No warnings either, they took our bikes the first week, defiled our car, contractors dont follow up, they leave messes, leave early, I swear I'm about to snap on them. Hell, our locks barely even worked, it took literal months before anyone fixed it. This place has been nothing but a hassle and a headache, over $1000 piece of literal garbage.
Worst experience I ve ever had with any place I ve ever rented before. They came into my apartment without my knowledge and sawed holes in my ceiling and moved all of my stuff. I also had cement in my toilet that leaked from above after they were renovating the apartment above mine, but worst part is they took DAYS to fix it and until I called management threatening to stay a hotel and send them the bill is when they sprung into action. 1000% do NOT recommend this place. Complete disrespect from all employees including management, and the lack of care to you.
I never wrote a bad review for any service, but this apartment really put me off and I have to tell people the truth: this place is horrible, and living here is the worst experience I ever had in my whole life. If I can, I would give them a negative star rating. Words can't describe how bad our living here is......We payed expensive rent with a payback of extremely poor service. They only care about the external appearance of this property and how to get you here, but the inside story is totally different. Once you signed the lease, they become rude and arrogant. We moved in a apartment with dirty floors, dirty and nonfunctional windows, broken door screen, exposed nails in balcony, nonfunctional kitchen with broken microwave oven held with duct tape, broken refrigerator, yellow nasty floor, almost falling down ceiling light...... (and a long list of other problems that I don't want to waste my time to list them all). This is not all; the worst thing is that we reported the problems several times (by phone and in person several times), there was absolutely no response at all for more than one month. Eventually we wrote an email to their headquarters, finally they showed up to fix some of the problems with a rude attitude, and there are still numerous problems left unfixed. It took us a lot of time to deal with these people trying to fix the problems with our apartment and still not get it all fixed. From previous reviews, you can tell that we are not the only people who suffered from their horrible management and we heard all sorts of complaints from our neighbors. Don't waste your time and money on this place!!!
Never stay in this apartment. The new manager at the office is really really bad,i requested for change in apartment, I paid $25 she came for initial inspection for approving the change, they didn't told me what is the expectation for checking. She just and told me all kind of nonsense and disapprove my change request. Now i need pay them for another inspection. MONEY IS ONLY FOCUS,NO QUALITY,NO HONEST. Don't come to this apartment or Don't stay in this apartment
Worst service. No light switch functioning in both the bed rooms. Complained couple of days ago. No service provided. Patio screen fell down on my son's head. The same was also complained. Visited to the service or business office more than twice. Office staffs are yelling. But no action taken. Worst community I have ever stayed in my 5 years stay. Every 15 days there is at least one problem in the newly removed house
My experience here at Muirwood has been pretty satisfying to say the least. What i love most is the 24 hour gated/guarded security. No other complex offers this added amenity Which makes all the difference in the world to me. I also love this community, because its quiet, friendly and respectful. The grounds are always clean for the most part. Sometimes, however, the geese can be a nuisance but i have learned to deal with them. I am still waiting for and forever requesting that my carport be replaced. They leak a white residue onto my new car in the mornings and they are rusted and very very old. PLEASE make this a priority. I hope asking for the residents experience here at Muirwood is not for nothing. Tamara Anderson
Worst experience. I would give zero stars if I can. The management did not understand my problem regarding the car port. They stick to what they say and least bothered about customer's issues.
The place, area, atmosphere, neighborhood all of these are great. But the maintenance is so slow that they have not fixed the window that were malfunctioning since I moved in two weeks ago. The dryer issue was resolved quickly but the window takes forever to get fixed or replaced. I have not even received a phone call from the maintenance department.
Leasing office and Maintenance is horrible...i cant wait to my lease is up!! Beautiful grounds but cant judge this book by its cover. Everything old in apt hm but rent continues to go up. I am still waiting on maintenance to replace cabinets and kitchen drawers that were broke and on my check in list for almost 2 yrs now SERIOUSLY! !
By far worst experience for living with family. There are some positives(car port and compactor) but lots of negatives... first let me tell you..the walls are very thin...my downstairs neighbour has lots of complaints about even four people walking here and there around pm night...he comes and knocks the door (last 1 year 15 to 20 times) we cant even have little bit of noise after 8pm its absolutely crazy... and then in the coridors are filled with cooking smell all the time... and in walk way lights caps and borken pieces are there nobody even bothers them to clean in days... and last but not least snow cleaning is very very bad in these apartments...even after a day snow fall, they dont clean the property well..when you call them they would say we are waiting for rainforecast to clear up snow...and we are very large property it takes long long time for us to clean even sidewalks are not cleaned properly...dont even think about calling leasing office people they are super rude and when you call service for any maintaince issue it always go to voicemail... they dont deserve the price we are paying.... please stop moving into these realling good looking from outside apartments ...once you start move in you will face all kinds of problems... u can have gril or you cant have bike in balcony even chairs or flower pots or (i heard from some friends ...bikes were stolen as well)
i lived in this apartment for 2 years .....i absolutely do not recommend this over priced and ridiculously problematic apartments...
One of the worst Apartment communities ever, especially the MANAGEMENT - MEAN STAFF!! I wish I could have given a ZERO STAR RATING but Google does not offer me an option. Apartments are High-end and great but if you encounter any issue, FORGET about it! 1. Stinking smell in the Hallway for the past 2 months in Muirwood Enclave - after 3 consecutive requests raised, issue is not solved but they spray perfume which hardly lasts 1 or 2 days and close it stating Work Completed. 2. You raise a maintenance request, mark it 'EMERGENCY', they take around a week to solve - Forget about 'Non Emergency' issues. 3. I bought a bike and there is no place for me to park it. They have sent out an email notice asking me to remove the bike from my Patio and do not offer me a Bike stand as well. MANAGEMENT - PLEASE HEED and CATER to THE NEEDS and ISSUES of Residents. Please treat everyone Equally.
They charged me for missing building key when I move out, but I was only given one building key for a 2b1b at the start of the lease. They also charged me for torn vinyl in laundry room. The only thing I have touched and used in the laundry room for 2 years is the washer/dryer combo. I have kept the room in exactly the same condition as it was when I moved in.
I suspect they will continue charging the next tenant renting the apt for the same excuses.
This place is the worst in the world they were so nice when my father signed his lease he is on a fixed income disability he explained his money came in the middle of the month they told him it was fine just pay the late Fee's,then his bathroom was leaking water from upstairs it took to months and court for them to fix after that they were so rude they seem to forget he was on a fixed income the sent him court papers every month then said when it was time to renew there not cause of late payments, hello he told you that before you took his money to move in. The manager in the office and at the gate is very rude and I honestly think they don't like black people. So I would not go there or put any family members in there period.. now they a rushing my father to move can you believe how they treat the elderly who have worked years to live well as if he can control when the government issue checks smh run for your lives
Muirwood is a great place to call home. Everyone in the office is very nice and professional. Stephanie is always patient and willing to help when I have questions about my account.
This review is regarding the maintenance manager, Dawn. I would give the complex as a whole 3 stars as far as a broad review goes due to various issues with the noise levels let in and the draftiness of the buildings. Dawn has been wonderful at helping to advocate for proper repair maintenance in my unit. Typically I haven't had a lot of luck with communication with the maintenance managers but I find Dawn to be much more proactive. She was wonderful in reassuring me after I had to wait some time to get my AC unit fixed/replaced.
**2/5/2015- Follow Up Response from Management Regarding Review: On 2/4/2015, I can see Muirwood Management responding to various views, mine included. The site does not allow anyone to respond, therefore, I take the liberty to add my response to this review. I can definitely appreciate Muirwood Management's response to my review, and their attempt to preserve their reputation for potential renters. Based on overall views, there is a common central theme: the maintenance requests are delayed, the staff is rude/unprofessional,and the apartments are old/outdated and in need of multiple repairs. In response to Muirwood Management, there is NO confusion regarding your onsite transfer process and costs/fees; and the misrepresentation of the apartment I was provided. Not at all. Regardless of your Leasing Agent showcasing me a demo apartment twice, or a high-rise Lexington Enclave Apartment, the information regarding the condition of the current apartment I leased was misrepresented and inexcusable. I noticed this was not addressed in your response. It appears that Management clearly side-stepped this issue. A renter has the option of choosing to rent a higher priced high rise Lexington Enclave ($930/monthly) and a basic apartment ($790-$835), which was showcased in your floor model. I was never given the opportunity to view the apartment due to it being "renovated and cleaned." Again, I can understand Muirwood's attempt to counteract poor reviews for business. It's good to know that Muirwood Management is staying abreast of the reviews. However, they basically misrepresented the apartment. At the end of the lease, the renewal fees increased (as usual); and Management offered to relocate me to a different apartment at the cost of a $300-500 transfer fee. The comment about "confusion" regarding the onsite transfer is comedy. The confusion is that Muirwood may have lost sight of the renter's right to be fully and properly informed of their product; and professional customer service. Understand that Muirwood exist because of the tenants. The Manager's response is unprofessional to say the least; and grossly inappropriate. As I mentioned before, I have no interest in meeting with Management to further explore any housing options. I have fully met the requirements of my one year lease. I prefer moving on. There is nothing that can appease me at this point.
Instead of hunting down Reviewers, use the reviews as constructive criticism; a tool for improvement and advancement; and excellent customer service. To prevent unfavorable website reviews, just update your properties, treat your tenants with the courtesy and respect they deserve, and provide prompt maintenance service. Just a thought.
I stepped out to pickup a package from Fedex and did not realize I left my apt keys to get me back in. Stopped by business office for assistance as it s very close from my apt :D. Very friendly staff ( Brandy and Stephanie) and got immediate help from Brandy Coburn. She was nice and very friendly, verified my details and gave me a spare key. Thanks a lot guys!
They dont have a place to keep your cycle in the first floor. if you stay in second floor you may have to take it up and down each time They dont have swings or more child friendly play area as this community is big and the play area have only one play scape in there so we end up going out to nearby parks. Also the maintenance is very slow
See attached pic. I have uninvited guests(slugs) coming over every night. This has been happening since over 2 weeks now. They sent over exterminators but that didn't help.
Update 5/20/18 (6 months since I moved in) Every few days the hot water goes off. Upon asking several times what the issue is, there no answer and it's fixed temporarily.
Additionally, my windows are foggy since the time I moved in. I tried following up many times and I guess they only have one answer- your windows should be replaced in a couple of weeks (that never happens)
There's a long list of issues I have raised and they're still not resolved.
It's a great neighborhood to stay in. The service needs serious attention though.
Applied for an apartment, changed my mind (knowing that I would lose the application fee), they never responded to my calls, emails and messages asking about the security deposit refund and somehow I ended up in collections? Glad I decided against living here; if this sh*t show is the caliber of their administrative skills lord knows what kind of paperwork drama I could have been in for. Usually in a bad review I could put the caveat "...but such and such employee was nice"; not this time. Bad experience throughout.
The worst apartments i have encountered.Especially the leasing and business office staff. They are just present there to say sorry for not keeping up to their promises. Initially they promised an apartment in a weeks time but later called and informed its been taken away and i have to wait another 3 weeks to get another. As I didnt get any other so soon, i have to stick to them. The lock doesnt work consistently.Maintainence guys do a temporary fix and go and again it repeats. There is a hole behind the washer which welcomes rats inside. The shower doesnt work. There dont do proper inspection before giving an apartment. Most important is with the leasing terms. Business office staff says I will not be charged as I have to break the lease and move to another state. They say one month notice is enough for preferred employers.I went thrice to get it confirmed but again they say the same. Later, I will be sent an email to pay around 2k after losing even my deposit. ALL RESIDENTS PLEASE GET IN MAIL FOR ANY PROMISES THEY MAKE AS LATER THEY SAY THEY ARE NOT AWARE.
We just moved in last week. We loved the community and chose our newly renovated apartment. Despite being able to find a very nice apartment, we are not entirely happy after moving in. During our tour I asked the leasing agents if they had any infestations in the buildings and they said no. The day I moved in, there were several bugs crawling on the walls. Turns out they were bedbugs. BEDBUGS. The exterminators came on the same day but they confirmed my doubts about bedbugs AFTER I had moved in all my furniture. It sucks. Seriously, they should inspect their property more carefully prior to renting it out. Love the apartment, love the location, and the community. So, I will change the rating once I am 100% sure that the bedbugs are gone.
Great place to live, nice scenery. Indoor and outdoor pool, nice club house. Community activites, volleyball nets, tennis court, ponds and nature walks throught the complex. Nice quiet place to live, very secure with gates entry
DONT MOVE IN HERE. My boyfriend and I have lived here for about 8 months and it s been horrible. It s very expensive and the apartments are outdated and appliances are rusted. They claim to have 24 hour maintenance and that s not the case at all. We called 5 months ago about our showers leaking and they never called back or came to check them out. We actually had an emergency, our garbage disposal started shooting water out of it and water was over flowing onto our floors and it took them multiple hours to respond. Also, the pool hours are inaccurate, they claim to open the pool at 9 I believe but over the summer they wouldn t open it until roughly 3 and the female s bathroom is always locked and the code was not provided a code. When I asked the front desk for the code they gave me the wrong code twice and gave me an attitude. Last, they don t plow the roads during the winter. Our road was a sheet of ice and snow .Bugs are also a huge issue! Therefore, there are many apartment complexes around here and I highly recommend going somewhere else because the customer service is horrible.
I am giving this Apartment complex a great review even though I am not moved in yet ! I was welcomed by Wahab Butt, and he was so professional, took the time to answer all my questions, and advised me to apply because the rates change daily, which they did ! I am happy that he was so friendly and accommodating , and the property is clean, and it was everything I was looking for. Thanks again Wahab.
Little place by Muirwood, it is not in any of the pictures Muirwood put online, and it is isolated. When you look for apartments, make sure you are not signing up for this enclaves place!!
As a visitor coming up to the gate, the older blonde lady makes you wait a long time before she'll come out to get your ID. Its ridiculous sometimes....what else is she there for?
It has really been a home away from home for me. People complain about response time of maintenance crew. But they have been good in responding to my requests. They are trying very hard to entertain all the residents. Respect!!
Snow cleaning is very pathetic and muirwood business people are not taking care even with multiple complaints..Roads are getting icy due to this carelessness and I see tenants are slipping on roads which can cause damage to their bones.
I DO NOT EVEN WRITE REVIEWS but After one month of moving into Muirwood, I can honestly say that I have never in my life regretted anything more. The walls are so thin, I could hear my neighbors breathing. It doesn t help that they allow 6 people to live in a two bedroom!! I moved into what was supposed to be a pet free apartment but I kept smelling a faint urine smell, and after talking to a couple people in the building, I found out that the pet free buildings are not so pet free! The worst part about this whole thing is that they have roaches!! I have never in my life had a big problem until now!! I have seen pest control out here EVERYDAY since I ve moved here. I will admit, they are quick in response to the pest problem. HOWEVER, it has only been two weeks and THEY ARE BACK!!!!!! If all you care about are nice grounds and the area, move here. If you dont care to hear your neighbors every breath, live next to a family of 6 in a two bedroom, and constantly have pest issues, stay far away!!
Please do NOT be fooled by the beautiful exterior of these apartments. They are really actually trash! I should have never moved from Green Hill!!
I recently moved into Muirwood. So far I experienced excellent service while renting the apartment and paying rent. My conscience is not permitting me to type even a single good word about this community. I will come up with a detailed explanation about my experience shortly after experiencing this community for two more weeks or so.
The business office here is a joke, so is the gated community. I had to break my lease for some reasons and instead of contacting me first for move out statement, they directly sent my acccount to a collection agency. Would never recommend to anyone!
HaHa. Who gave this apartments to Five Stars. I believe that Muirwood staff rated Five Star. Don't trust Muirwood staffs. They are contractor. No responsible regarding any issue in residence even maintenance issue. Specially maintenance is real bad. They didn't fix broken tiles in my bathroom last three years. They can fix everything temporary. trust me if they fix something, it will be happen again one or two month later. Finally I got answer from maintenance coodinator. He said I will ask my manager. I got a lot of issue but they don't like to take care of them. Muirwoods are pretty old (25year~35year). They got too many issue but not enough men power and expert to take care of them.
im going with 1 star just because the apartments are really nice. i read so many bad reviews but thought what can go wrong with my apartment. i was wrong. things started to break down. Six months ago i called up maintenance even after multiple escalations and several requests, i didnt get any response till date. After that things got only worse with each equipment . Kitchen lights went off , no water in shower. i feel like living in a cave. even before giving notice . i told them clearly that maintenance is the only reason im moving out and i would really appreciate if they can reimburse or waive off my 2 months rent. the response i got was only thank you. i mean seriously?. its a shame that the management dont take residents seriously. i would have definitely loved to continue if maintenance was taken care in time or atleast taken care . come to this place if you want to shed your hard earned money and still live a tribal life like a wild-ling. no no to anyone . please look out for another decent apartments. they are plenty out there. good luck
Great complex very clean and friendly. Feel very safe with the visitor entrance. It s very quiet and family friendly. One thing is that the walls are very thin and did not get any welcoming when moving in just gave me a packet with keys and said go find your apartment. Complex is very easy laid out so wasn t that hard to find apartment. Just would ve liked more of a welcome to your new home. Felt more like a business not a community.
This is possibly THE WORST place to live in Michigan. Once you sign the lease, the management is extremely rude, specially the Regional Manager of Beztec (Dan) handling the property at Farmington Hills (Muirwood Apartments).
We moved to a single bedroom APPT in Muir Wood community almost 10 months back. The Property where we are living is very old The roads are not kept clean in winter I know we had lots of snow this year but still the maintainance would have been better.
The Kitchen and the Rest Room Interiors are really worst. At the time of moving they promise every thing and they never show up. If anyone is moving please double check the interiors and get them fixed before you move in .
And especially in our Building the Washer & Dryer are literally not working and we all the Residents are going out for a coin Laundry .Its really a shame on the Muir wood Maintainance. Though they received many complaints they never try to fix the Washer & Dryer .
Over all my experience in this APPT is really a night mare .Thank God we just stay hardly 10 days in a month at home as me and husband both are travelling on our project needs.
Before moving here thought this would be a great place to live and now my experience is totally opposite.
They are highly professional when you are signing the lease. Later they take 2 weeks for any service request , and highly unprofessional and unethical behavior when you attend their leasing office during the stay. The materials used in building the apartment is of cheap and worst quality, and within the first 2 months you will have a house with everything broken/hanging around.
I would have given negative star if there was any..the wrost apartment v ever lived in. They charge so high and the apartments is not worth at all..the apartments are in bad shape it s like old den u live in ..all the things inside is broken and they charge once u move out. We lived there for 6 months and they charged us for carpet change .the carpet was already coming out from corner and they told us that v have to pay for carpet change.wrost place to live. And many other things they charged.please don t fall this trap. Stay away from this crappy apartment
I have ben living here from more than a year and I can say that this apartment is only good from the outside. Inside the apartment is a different story. All the appliances are too old and outdated , even the carpet is dirty and Windows are old inefficient in Winter. In Winter we had to struggle to get the Water heater replaced for more than 2 months which used to break every week. Same story with AC in summer before they replaced it. Nobody is supposed to keep their stuff like bikes in Carport or patio. They will take it and throw in dumpster and won't even care to let you know. They have right on the property but the stuff is of the people staying there and they are paying rent to stay. The staff is rude and non cooperative. I can only say that I am not going to renew my lease.
Update: My bicycles were taken from front of my apartment without leaving any notice by the apartment guys. When I figured out who took my bikes and called them they told me they will return by bikes. After chasing them for 2 days I was told they lost my bike and I should reach their Manager. When I tried getting to Manager the front desk guy prosecuted me like a lawyer and told me probably they dumped my bikes behind Dumpster where its no longer obviously. We are not allowed to keep anything outside apartment apparently other wise it will be towed by apartment authorities(as mentioned in Lease agreement) but where is it mentioned that they can throw anyone's stuff away. The Manager cannot be reached anytime. This is clearly behavior of arrogance. Once we sign the lease this people don't care.
We love it! We moved in Friday and are almost completely unpacked! We are excited to start exploring the beautiful complex and meeting people. It is already feeling like home.
The security guard at the front entrance is the most rudest hideous woman I've ever met. (The one with the super dark tan and Dolly Pardon's wig) Number one, she's an 80 year old security guard. Who is she protecting? Number two, she won't allow delivery drivers in. Someone needs to explain to her that delivery people are going to come there because the tenants order things. She needs to be checked for Alzheimer's then returned to her old folks home.
My experience with Mr.Farmer was wonderful. He was very patient and took care of all of my concerns with my upcoming move to Muirwood. I would recommend this wonderful person to anyone moving to this community.
This is possibly THE WORST place to live in Michigan. Once you sign the lease, the management is extremely rude, specially the Regional Manager of Beztec (Dan) handling the property at Farmington Hills (Muirwood Apartments). My A/C went out in September and even after numerous attempts of follow -ups and opening tickets, no one even bothered to have a look until 3 weeks after the complaint, and then it took them another 10 days to replace it. The regional manager was extremely rude and when I tried to explain the rent credit policy listed on their website for maintenance repairs, he laughed about it and threatened to evict me instead. He also sarcastically kept saying that why does anyone need an air conditioner in September. The temperature in my apartment, which is on the basement level always remained at 76 to 80 F in September but these guys never bothered to fix it and kept on closing my service tickets marking it as complete. If you don't believe the horrible experiences of the uncountable people living here, feel free to experience it yourself! The maintenance staff sucks and you can never get the manager over the phone no matter how hard you try or for how long.
This review concerns the business office, specifically Lisa and Brandy. They are two wonderful and helpful people. I sincerely hope they are part of the Muirwood staff for a very long time. It's very difficult to find high caliber, conscientious, dedicated employees in the service industry. Thank you Lisa and Brandy!
Good community to stay in. Helpful staff and quick service. Nice layout and clean community. All places to shop day to day stuff are in close proximity. It is near to Downtown and many restaurants. To live in this community has been a good experience so far.
I'm beginning my 10th year as a Muirwood resident and wanted to pass along my comments. I live in one of the terrace homes so can't speak to the apartment units. I enjoy living here. It's quiet, well maintained and provides a good degree of privacy.
The management does an excellent job of maintaining the property and service requests are met on a timely basis. I find the staff to be both friendly and professional. The landscaping is generally nice.
I also like that it is a gated community and visitors must check in at the gatehouse. It provides for an additional degree of security.
All the buildings were upgraded last year with new siding and new doors. The terrace homes have individual, private entrances. The terrace home units have two stories and all the upstairs units received new porches and railings. My building also received a new roof. The roadways were repaired (as needed) and all were sealed. So there is a pride of ownership on the part of the owners.
I would recommend Muirwood to anyone who is looking for a pleasant, nice place to live at a reasonable price. It is convenient to downtown Farmington, the freeways, 12 Oaks and many other businesses. The strip malls located nearby have also been upgraded so the whole area has a nice, new look. I viewed other apartments in the area when I moved here after selling my home. It was the nicest property in this area... imo. I do plan on staying here for the foreseeable future.
This should be a section 8 property. It's worse than a lot of section 8 properties, actually. Living here is like living in the projects...in the middle of the suburbs. With a bunch of hoodrats running the main office. If you're okay with paying luxury prices for quality that's worse than a decaying trailer, move here. Besides that, you can find manufactured homes and trailers that are brand spanking new with quality appliances and spacious floorplans for less than half of the prices here and live comfortably and quietly. Unlike this trash hill. You're really better off in a cardboard box on the side of the street than in Muirwood. I'm sure the local street rodents would patch up a hole in your box before maintenance ever got to the first apartment on their "list".
Today we are moving in to this apartments and I am very disappointed by there maintance it was very terrible experience bugs fell dead around all the place and dust and trash was not vaccumed. Even after we visited leasing office and enquired about the readiness of the apartment before one week and still this is the situation. If there is an option I would have uploaded the images
Legit the worst apartment experience that I ve ever had. But somehow the most costly! I WANT OUT. It s not worth a fraction of what they charge to live in. The apartment I asked for wasn t the one I got and it was nothing I can do about it because I didn t discover this until move-in day. I proved to them that I was given the wrong apartment and youd think they d offer me some type of discount or lease adjustment ? Not at Muirwood. My apartment is overran by huge spiders and All they ever offer to do is have someone come and spray. I thought at some point when they saw that spraying wasn t working they would try a different approach. Nope, not at Muirwood. Management goes back-and-forth with you like helping you or putting a work order in comes out of their personal paycheck. I had very few requests when it came to what I wanted in a place to call home. The one thing I said I did not want under any circumstance was to live on the bottom floor. And that s exactly what I got. I live underneath a family that is up all day and all night banging on stuff in the kitchen. Marching around the house at all hours. And being that the buildings are old and not updated you can hear everything. From every apartment around me. Each time someone on the third or second floor uses their garbage disposal I smell it in my drain and it stinks up my entire kitchen. A few other really messed up things that happened was my toilet bathtub and kitchen sink overflow with sewage within the first 90 days of me moving here and it made my dog and I ( prego at the time) very sick. For the past 4 months someone in our building has been stealing packages and I asked for someone in the office to intervene to prevent an altercation. Not at Muirwood. I was told to send in a police report and that they did not want to get involved. But they make sure to get involved with petty stuff like a plant being on your patio I sending a site wide email for that. Or how about the time they let Comcast into my apartment and left my door wide open with not even a note, email or anything. I had to wait for family to come over and inspect my apartment for safe entry of me and my newborn. I sent an email and voicemail asking why they left my door wide open demanding a response. Do you think I got one? Not at Muirwood.
I have been to Muirwood recently and I think this is the worst leasing office staff I have ever come across. It feels as if they are doing a favor to us by leasing an apartment. They totally lack professionalism. I am not sure with so many negative comments, I wonder what Beztak is doing? I guess it is sleeping!!
Based on my experience staying almost 18 months in this apt, you should have extra care for everything during your stay otherwise your all security deposit will be almost gone during moving out time . I was wondered that I was charged $628 for those stains in the carpet as property damage list during moving out . . I had thought they will be charging some reasonable cost for carpet cleaning . As it looks small some stains or looks like few wine drops for me but for them it seems major stains . However the photos here I have attached for your ref and had been sent by Muirwood leasing office to notify me . Similarly , I was charged some couple of hundred dollars more in the section of cleaning and all and which seems to be really no sense for me . I realized now that I would have gone through the all reviews people posting here instead just believing the beautiful words from leasing staffs during move in time . Anyway happy stay !
For those who have been told by muirwood account manager that as a muirwood resident you CAN NOT DOWNGRADE the apartment even after completing current lease.
